Sartiano's New York Reviews from The Last Year
Fantastic! Service, ambience, food, drinks, all 5.
0/5.0 stars. No notes. One of the best meals I've had recently. Head and shoulders above most other downtown Italian spots; I would even give it the edge over Torrisi, personally. Deserving of a Michelin star.
Food 7/10 Throwback to six years ago when I ate here and it
Food 7/10 Throwback to six years ago when I ate here and it still was Mercer Kitchen. RIP. The focaccia was stellar, definitely a must get. The bucatini was slightly lacking in bounce and had only four pieces of lobster. The salad and meatballs were fine, not necessary though. The affogato was very good and the tiramisu was way too sweet. Atmosphere 9/10 Very vibey dim lighting interior, spacious and bar area also probably good for corporate events. Service 7/10 Solid service, nothing horrible but nothing outstanding.
Great spot with an amazing piedmont red.
Called Nebbiolo D'alba indigenous... so good. We had the meatballs, Caesar salad, chicken Marsala and bolognese. All were great. Our server was excellent but it took a long time for the others helping to clear the appy plates and then The dinner plates. Annoying. Not as attentive as I would like. Otherwise, the restaurant was beautiful! It was a great find after a day of shopping.
Went here with Mi Amore for Valentines Day.
They had a pop up collab with Valentino given fashion week. We headed downstairs and were seated right away (keep in mind we had reservations). Service was great, fully attentive and constantly checking in to make sure all was up to par. Everything we ordered was nothing short of amazing! We had the meatballs, baked clams, ricotta and yellowtail tartare to start, also the Arancini! Decided on the lobster pasta dish- I was in the mood for pasta which had hints of spicyness- mmm mmm good!! We were disappointed that the Arancini literally came with only two but nevertheless those two sufficed. I had a great time and the drinks did the job too. Let's not forget the affogato!! Presentation was everything!
Amazing birthday dinner with my friends.
The mushroom lasagna was my favorite, as well as the glazed carrots. Service was underwhelming being that it was a busy Friday night in New York, but the food & beautiful restaurant made it 100% worth it. I would recommend going with a small group of 6 or less.
My friend and I were able to snag a res (albeit a 9:45 PM
My friend and I were able to snag a res (albeit a 9:45 PM one on a Sunday night) and we're so glad we went! The restaurant has a gorgeous, moody interior; a great ambiance; and top-notch service. I expected the dress code to be strict after reading their website, but they didn't seem to be enforcing it inside. Now, I didn't particularly care for the limoncello spicy margarita; it tasted just like a jalapeño cocktail that I once purchased at Radio City Hall. The drinks were equally disappointing both times, and I was unable to finish either glass. The cavatelli was decent. I enjoyed the first few nibbles of the dish but grew bored of the flavors shortly after. The broccoli pesto was almost bitter, and although the sausage was flavorful, it was a bit dry. The lasagna was outstanding. I've tried too many dishes that were marred by heavy-handed use of truffle and was a bit skeptical of the lasagna for this reason, but I found myself enjoying each bite. It had the perfect amount of cream and a slightly smoky flavor that I loved. The chicken marsala was delicious. It was cooked to perfection--the meat was tender and juicy, and the skin was crispy. Beautiful presentation. The potato puree and truffle jus were tasty; though I disliked the black trumpet mushrooms. Would come back again to try more of the menu!
My husband got a resy here for Valentine's Day.
It's super cute and vibey inside. The bar looks cozy with the brick wall and the rest of the room is dimly lit with tables and booths. There's also a coat check so it's convenient. We got two glasses of champagne, a glass of red wine, and espresso martini for drinks. The espresso martini was good but not really creamy. For dishes, we overordered. The food overall is good but I wouldn't rave about any particular dish. For appetizers we got the meatballs, the homemade focaccia, and tuna tartar. The meatballs were tasty and came with crostini. Wish we got more for that sauce. The focaccia was delicious with the whipped riccotta.... For mains, we got the agnolotti and the Branzino. The Branzino was super tasty, it had a bunch of different flavors on the fish and the skin was nice and crispy. The agnolotti was tasty too if you're into that type of pasta. We also shared a side of broccolini. It was drizzled in olive oil and had some chili flakes. Yum. We then got dessert and shared the tiramisu and mini donuts. The tiramisu was chocolate covered. It was good but didn't taste like too much liquor. The mini fried donuts were warm and came with dipping sauces. We definitely got way too much and couldn't finish. Our waiter was also super attentive. Definitely come here for a date night and vibes, but don't expect to be blown away by the food.
One word - incredible! What can I say the entire experience
One word - incredible! What can I say the entire experience from the minute we walked in till we left was so good, so professional, so sincere. Came to Sartiano's on a Saturday morning for brunch without a reservation. Was seated within 10 -15 minutes and were given an option to be downstairs or upstairs. We chose upstairs since we wanted to enjoy the Sun. We ordered smoked salmon Benedict and vegetable omelette, both were sooo good. Service was amazing and the hostess was the sweetest I have ever seen lately in NYC. The only thing I wasn't a fan of was latte being $9. I have to go back for dinner!
Amazing! The food does not disappoint.
The bartenders are amicable and the food is delicious. Please try the meatballs!
Overall pleasant night, nice ambiance, service was good.
Cocktails are acceptable, feel like several drinks were missing something. Also the wait was long for drink order. Dishes I enjoyed: *Scallop Crudo - trout roe was a plus. *Meatball - simple and tasty. *Arancini - cheesy creamy as expected. *Lobster Bucatini - tomato base was very good. Pasta was perfect texture, BUT lobster was served in shell, whyyy. *Roasted Carrot - so good! And the sauce underneath has spicy kick unexpected. *Broccollini - yum Dishes on the so so side: *Tomahawk - beautifully presented, temperature looks perfect, the taste just somehow unimpressive. *Baked Clam - clam was good but a bit too heavy on breading so it's too salty overall. *Brussel Sprouts - I'm just not a brussel sprout fan. Dishes little meh: *Foccacia - feel like if bread is charged $12 or should have been served warm. *Caesar Salad - not so much heart and soul within. *Fritto Misto - never had Fritto Misto this bland. *Chicken Marsala - huge cut but just a very boring breast protein. Sauce and mushroom was good though. *Truffle Gnocchi - so so.
Definitely a pass
Terrible nite at Sartianos! Atmosphere is underwhelming. Portions are TINY, the food itself is nothing special. Wish we had not wasted our money here, I definitely would not recommend Sartianos and we will not be going back.

Prepaid Reservation Fee

When you sell a reservation that has a prepaid fee AT takes a commission on that fee. This doesn’t really make sense because it’s an expense the seller incurs not part of the profit that is shared.
For example:
Carbone NYC fee to book table for 2 is $108.88
If you sell it for $200 on AT you get $140 from them.
Your net profit is $31 and AT collects $60 in fees.
It would make more sense not to charge commission on the upfront fee as this creates a disincentive and results in higher costs for buyers.

Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
