Tonight I learned I was charged an 18% service charge for a party of 2. What's right about that? That's on top of the gratuity. It's a lack of transparency. No one tells you this on the front end. This is a message to the restaurant owners please take care of your wait staff and stop over charging customers. I will not be back. Otherwise, good customer service.

I had asked a friend for recommendations on where to have lunch during a visit to Rodeo Drive with my son. Glad he recommended this gem right in the heart of the shopping area. As you enter the place, you get a feeling of being amongst celebrities (we actually were!). Sitting at any table, you have a wonderful view of the folks shopping at the high end stores right outside. The menu offers a wide variety of mouthwatering starters. Save some room for the main course and dessert though, you will not want to miss out. We will definitely visit this great place next time we are in Beverly Hills.

Nice view, great service, great vibe, and great dessert! I also need to eat here for dinner or lunch to try the rest of the food. I got the Rolodan (sp?) cake and it was amazing! It is basically strawberry short cake with less cake, more fruit, and tons of cream. I like it better with the less cake too. We came on a slightly rainy/sprinkling night and a couple of other tables were outside, but shielded with their many and huge white umbrellas. Their food smelled delicious! I also got a heated soy milk. My friend got their raspberry chocolate truffle cake and a coffee. Would def come back. Easy parking underneath. During biz hours it is 2 hours free, after 6pm it is a$10 flat fee. Our tab came out to about $50 with 2 desserts and 2 drinks and they auto add 18% tip.

Be the first to ReplyCame here for lunch this week with a friend.
Had an appetizer, burger, pasta and drinks. The waiter (pedro) automatically added the tip to the bill and then after i paid he came to table with tablet and asked if i want to leave a tip knowing that he already included the tip. I handed him my card without looking at the bill because we had to go. He shouldn't have asked me to leave a tip if he knew he already added it. He ended up getting a $67 tip on a $203 tab when he only should have gotten 20% ($31). Also the burger made me sick two and a half hours later and i was stuck in the bathroom the rest of the night. Wont be coming back here thats for sure. Stay away if you dont want to be scammed.

Have you ever had the experience of walking into a restaurant, excited to indulge in a luxurious meal, only to leave feeling disappointed and ripped off? That's exactly how I felt after dining at 208 Rodeo.I was enticed by the restaurant's high prices and upscale reputation, expecting to be blown away by the quality of the food and service. However, my expectations were not met. The food was mediocre, lacking the freshness and creativity that I anticipated. And to make matters worse, the prices were exorbitant, making me feel like I was paying for the ambiance and location rather than the quality of the meal. But what truly left a sour taste in my mouth was the terrible service. Our waiter was inattentive and seemed uninterested in our needs. We had to flag down other servers to get basic things like water and utensils, and when our food arrived, it was cold and unappetizing. As if the high prices and mediocre food weren't enough, the restaurant charged an automatic 18% service charge on top of the bill. This felt like a sneaky way to inflate the price, and we were not informed of this charge beforehand. According to guidelines, this practice is illegal, and it left us feeling taken advantage of.All in all, my experience at 208 Rodeo was a major letdown. The high prices, mediocre food, and terrible service make for an unsatisfactory dining experience that I would not recommend to anyone. Save yourself the disappointment and opt for a restaurant that values quality and customer service over inflated prices and sneaky charges.

Delicious food and a happening place! We had bolognese and chicken pesto sandwich and wonderful wine. Finished with cheesecake and americano coffee. People from all over the world were in the bar eating area because of rain the outside seating area was closed. Greeted warmly by the manager/owner and George our server took over and was overwhelmingly warm and made us feel so welcomed. We escaped our stressful day to escape into a great place.

Service- amazing service as folks were super attentive and were able to seat me and my family of 4 immediately without a reservation, which I was pleasantly surprised about given how popular of a spot this place is. Parking- love the convenience of parking in the free garage and taking the elevator straight to the cafe. Food- you're definitely paying that Beverly Hills price for food here. Each person was $100 for their bill which food was amazing but also kind of a premium for their dishes (e.g. soup, shrimp and scallops, dessert). This spot is such a fun place to sit and watch all the shoppers go around rodeo drive, you'll definitely see a lot of tourist but this is the whole point. Would recommend for someone's first time visiting Beverly Hills or checking out the scene for sure, but probably wouldn't make it a regular visit since it's a bit pricey in my opinion.

I have ordered grilled octopus from special, it came with gnocchi.Grilled octopus was ok , but gnocchi wasn't original at all. I recently had gnocchi in french restaurant taste and texture was completely different. My husband ordered sea-bass ( from speacial) which came undercook and with bad smell. He returned to kitchen to be cook more and it came back still raw and again with bad smell. We decided to take fish home, to cook more and ended up throw it to trash ( bad smell)We only liked crab-cake and location so I put 2 stars I do not recommend this place! !Tourist trap!

Right above the rodeo shops you'll find this great low key place to have lunch when shopping around or dinner dates when looking for easy options in the area Tasty food, great variety of cocktails to choose from and sometimes at night they do live music.

Zero rate this resto! i have 5 years experience in japanese cuisine's resto, but this one is a no no way to be recommend! So sorry to say...
Be the first to ReplyParking is fairly easy but I've only gone on the weekdays.
such a cute little cafe outside but the food was not anything special. You're really paying for the ambience. I say enjoy a coffee, a chat, or a book. Since I knew that being the case, I give this place four stars. Food gets a three star.
Be the first to ReplyI used to really love this place.
Dining outside in such a beautiful and historic area with pretty lights and good food! All of those things are great, but the prices aren't worth it unfortunately. You're definitely paying more for the location and not the food. Also, I mean no disrespect but the live outdoor music was awful.... It was loud screaming off key and it makes it difficult to have conversations. I'm sure there are some people who enjoy that style of music but I don't feel like it fits the vibe of this place. The service is always really good. We've never had a server that wasn't great so that's always a plus!!!!But I need to find a second job if I want to eat here ever again lol $$$$$

From my week long trip in LA this is my first time writing a Yelp review. My first review I've made in many years. We started our afternoon lunch with a delightful waitress that pushed us to order the most expensive items on the menu. Without telling us the market prices of many items she recommended and ordered for us, we felt cheated. We started with delicious appetizers that were the price of most main courses. The food was hot and freshly prepared. The main courses we got were the steak and lobster with the seafood skillet. Keep in mind the waitress recommended us all food and pressured us to agree without notifying us of the price. We paid $260 for the steak and lobster and $100 for the seafood skillet. To add on to these extensive prices our waiter offered us peppercorn sauce and truffle for the steak, leading us to believe these were complimentary. No matter where I am $5 for a steak sauce and $12 for butter should be unacceptable. The steak had around 6-7 pieces and the seafood was a mess, the huge chunk of fish on the bottom didn't taste fresh and was reminiscing of puke. We were left with a total of $790 not including tip or tax. Reminder this was for a lunch. We left hungry and unsatisfied.Overall I don't recommend this place, if you do come here for the scenery be cautious of prices. Don't come here for the overpriced food. 4/10

Great location! Nice outdoor seating! However, food is expensive here. $720 for lunch! The waitress kept trying to push the most expensive options. She recommended the truffle pasta, we said no. One after another, finally we settled at a surf and turf. Market price, and they don't let you know when you order. To my surprise, it was $260... if you eat here you must be very careful. Because the options they push on you are not priced on the menu. Every. Single. Suggestion. Was the most expensive option on the menu. She must've thought that I was Bill Gates. Then she offered sauces for the steak. I thought it was free. Nope. $12 and $8 for the two sauces. Also, they charged tip before the tax, which makes no sense. And even had the audacity to ask for additional tip after paying for the bill! My goodness. What a mess. Never coming back.
Be the first to ReplyThis was mine and my boyfriend's first date.
We have been coming here for the past two years, however this last visit was not as expected. The only thing bad that made me question about coming back again was that my waitress was very bias towards us. The comments made by her were " I assume this is your first time here" , and " you must not be from the area " . As being a Latina woman this rubbed me the wrong way! I don't appreciate how my waitress assumed that it was my first time here, and when I told her "no" she looks surprised to hear my answer. Overall the food is amazing but after this last experience I question going back next year.

Can I give zero stars? This place is probably the worst place ever! The seating is way too close to the people next to you. I practically had to give the guy a lap dance to get to my table. The food was bland and lacked any flavor. Poor service all around.

We were celebrating our fathers 65th birthday anniversary and have been very pleased with our entire experience! From seating to serving to food quality, everything was top notch as you would expect for such an upscale restaurant! We highly recommend the outdoor seating that has that warm Beverly Hills ambiance. Special shoutout to our server Sage, who did an outstanding job taking care of everyone in our family! He was very nice, attentive and accommodating with everyone's requests! In addition, we would like to thank Paul the assistant server who shared the same birthday as our dad! Amazing food, awesome staff, beautiful restaurant! Highly recommend!
