This is my first Michelin star restaurant during pandemic, so exciting! their food is good as always! if you have a chance, their wine list is good too, don't miss that. The food includes a lots of fantastic ingredients, from sea to land. We are here to celebrate friend's birthday, we got a birthday cake in the end, lovely!

Hands down, best of the best Michelin in SF!! A must try!! We truly enjoyed the food, experience, and staff super amazing! Such great teamwork, knowledgeble, kind friendly atmospher, elegant and place is nice.We did wine pairing that so good, soooo much food! My suggestion is to spread rich savory dish apart with other dish! Selecrion of dishes are really tasty. 8 dishes plus special with wine! There was a wine not in the list was serve with stugeon caviar. May I ask what that wine that was paired.Thank you!!

Loved each and every dish as well as the accompanying wine tasting. We also loved the service once actually seated at our table, and the set up/ spacing between tables. The only downside was that despite having a reservation, we had to wait 25 minutes for our table to be set up. The nice thing to have done in that situation would be to offer a glass of wine, amusebouche or something. We would have been happy to pay for it, though at similar caliber Michelin restaurants they would have offered it on the house. Having been to almost all of the Michelin restaurants in SF and Napa, that seems to be the one thing Acquerello could learn and improve on

Wow....didn't realize that Yelp doesn't allow a Zero star rating.....but I've never had reason to give a goose egg until tonight. So I guess they get one star just for being open. Important to say that I am in Sales and I truly entertain around the world. I've been to dives, private clubs, starred restaurants, etc. And because I always take care of those who take care of me and my guests, I am fortunate to access places at any time in most any place without a wait....and with a first name greeting. So when I took my wife and daughter to this place at my wife's request, the only redeeming part of the experience is that I didn't bring clients to the worst experience I've ever had. I would have been so embarrassed and it would have ruined the nite and required damage control. Thankfully, my wife and daughter were simply anxious to leave and forget it ever happened. Some insights: 1) their Somm insulted us to start the nite. When I asked a simple question at the start of the meal, he answered in an arrogant tone "that's what fine dining establishments do" as if me, my wife, my daughter, and my black Amex weren't worthy of his time or of his restaurant's time. 2) Onto the wine! We first chose our fave Italian Gavi/white....La Scolca Black Label. If you've never had it, find it. It's wonderful. My well travelled wife decided to do the wine pairing while my daughter and I downed the La scolca with the insults. My wife (who has an impressive palette and knows wine well) didn't finish a single wine that they chose/poured for her. When my buddy the Somm showed up at the end of the night with 4 unfinished wine glasses in front of my wife to finally ask if she liked the wine (why didn't they clear those??), I told him that the only wine that she finished was the Gavi that I chose. He said nothing and ignored me. More importantly they also didn't offer to discount whatever the cost was for whatever the lousy wine pairings were. 3) The food silly!! It was off-putting--no other way to say it. They tricked out the food so much that the flavors were just not good. I had a cocoa ravioli (my fave cocoa pasta btw is at Delmare which won Jamaica's top restaurant award and Chef Claudio is a god. My fave overall homemade pasta is Pelago in Chicago with Chef Mauro and he is a god too. Both are dear friends and super talented) sorry....back to the bad ravioli.....cocoa ravioli with oxtail filling which for some reason was topped with a spicy peanut sauce. Not joking--and this isn't a fusion Asian Italian restaurant. It's just a place where a ton of attitude ruins the food. Affogato btw is my fave dessert. Simple and great....vanilla gelato and espresso....at least at every other Italian place in the world but here where they tricked out that Italian staple with more funky flavors than a 5 day old nacho platter. Other weird thing on the menu btw--My daughter ordered a pasta that was virtually the exact same as a pasta that we had the nite before at Spruce. Not sure who copied who but even the presentation of the pasta ribbons was assembled the same way at both restaurants. And finally 4) the money--they have a built in service fee. I don't like that. I honestly always tip well and feel strongly that it is my chance to truly show how the experience was. Not here. You're paying 20 points with no choice for the worst experience of your culinary life. It was a shame. I wouldn't recommend this place unless you don't like the person you are with that nite or want to punish yourself for something you feel guilty about.

Anniversary Dinner, Over the Top!

From the moment my wife and I entered Acquerello we were treated like royalty. We were led to a table that was set up with a special anniversary card and printed menus outlining the culinary adventure we about tp partake in. My wife and I selected "A Tasting of Vegetables" set menu with Wine Pairing. Each course was an exquisitely prepared visual masterpiece presented in a way that built excitement for the upcoming explosion of flavors awaiting us. Needless to say we enjoyed ourselves. The dinner was expensive but the overall food and experience was worth it.

The service and food quality, and the overall dining experience, is nothing short of what you would expect from a 2-star Michelin restaurant. The servers do a good job, as expected, of describing all the courses and the ingredients in each and of explaining what the recommend way to eat each course is. The ambience is quite intimate, with dim lighting. There are also complements, including truffle, that you can add onto the main tasting menu. Great experience. You also get to take home some sweets and desserts as well!

Highlights:* Elegant, high end dining* 2,000 bottle wine cellar focused on Italy and deep in Piedmonte* Choice of Prix Fixe Menus from $150 - $495++ pp* Jackets are required for men.While we had a fine meal at Acquerello it did not reach my expectations for a two star Michelin restaurant. It has all the accoutrements of such, the decor is refined, female diners are given a leather bench for their purses, there are fine linens, Riedel wine glasses, Laguiole steak knifes, but the food has not kept up with the competition. It lacks the excitement that we see in so many restaurants in their price range. Servers are professional, old school, but they too lack the passion they should have.My guess is they will be downgraded from 2 to 1 star in the near future. I ate at Bocuse in Lyon pre pandemic and wondered how they could be a 3 star except for the deferential legacy to Paul Bocuse. Sure enough they were downgraded from 3 to 2 stars weeks later. Congratulations on three decades, but to be competitive you need to innovate, create passion and excitement. At some point you can't rely on aging regulars to keep you going. Our favorite bites were the amuse bouches, a couple of delicious oysters and some caviar cones. The pastas were fine, but nothing life changing. The ridged pasta with "faux foie gras", black truffle and Marsala was very good. There was nothing wrong with the olive oil poached bass with shellfish nor the Liberty Duck, but they did not sing. The biggest disappointment was the dessert and sweet treats cart. It looked so attractive but there was nothing on the cart that was really enjoyable. That really needs a reboot. I know that the owners have opened another concept, Sorella, to cater to a lower price point and younger or more casual crowd. But the problem is not that well to do Millennials do not want to come here because it is stuffy or you have to wear a jacket, the problem is they have not created a "wow" in their food and service.

From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.

Best Answer Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.

Best Answer Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.

Best Answer Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.

It's fine if the sellers are just individuals that can't use the reservation. But just curious: 1. What's preventing people from creating lots of email accounts and write a script to book all the reservations FOR FREE then resale it here? 2. Since restaurants can be partners, can they benefit from the bidding? If so wouldn't this just be ridiculous? So a restaurant can sell reservations just like selling a ticket? And customers not only need to pay for the reservation also need to pay for the meal?

Once you place your bid, all sellers with a connection to the venue will start to work on fulfilling your desired time and date of the reservation. This process can be instant or may take a few days as most locations are either fully booked or hard to get! Stay tuned!

Best Answer Hey @HolisticQuestion30, whenever a bid expires, can't be filled or is cancelled by you, your funds are deposited in your AppointmentTrader Main Account in real time so you can use them for another bid instantly and don't have to carry multiple authorizations on your credit card for a number of days. You can access the funds with the credit card number that is shown next to your main account (labeled 'Show Card Number'). The real-time access is also true for any funds you earn from selling or reselling a reservation. You can use this card-number at any place online that accepts credit cards. (Currently limited to USD, multi currency support is planned.) AT is currently working on implementing a push-to-debit function, if you would like funds sent to your bank account before this feature is live, please email support [AT] appointmenttrader.com The team is usually very responsive and happy to assist with bridging any tech gap with their service :-)
