Acquolina San Francisco Reviews from The Last 180 Days
Ordered the margarita pizza and the tagliatelle with meatballs. Both were a bit underwhelming since sauces didn't have much flavor. The service was a bit slow even though the restaurant was empty. There are much better places in SF like Delfina or even Italian homemade company.
I'm not sure how you can justify two salads, focaccia bread with cheese and three waters to be close to a 70$ dollar tab. The caprese salad was disgusting. They served me old basic tomatoes that were soggy bland as appose to using fresh and crisp Roman tomatoes. The fresh mozzarella tasted a bit hard, that also was not fresh. The tab water is not served with ice and the Caesar salad was also disgusting. I've eaten better pre made Caesar salads at lucky's grocery store. Service was neglectful and the quality of food overall is poor. This is not authentic Italian cuisine nor is it even American Italian cuisine. At this point it doesn't deserve a label, I would just suggest you don't waste your hard earned money there. There is a reason why the place is dead during peak hours.
After a full day of walking around Alcatraz, we were hungry!! Decided to stop by North Beach and find something good. Our Spanish exchange student picked Acquolina. He picked a WINNER!! I had a plate of meatballs from the appetizer menu and a side of yummy bread and olive oil. The boys had calzone. Everything was amazing. The food and service were equally excellent. Love the location and the vibe. It was a perfect ending for our beautiful day in the city.
Service is fantastic and food is delicious as hell. I ordered their beet ravioli and it was probably one of the best raviolis I have ever had. Definitely recommend
I'm a quality sl*t and this Italian restaurant is quality perfection. The pizza flower comes from Italy and some pizzas have imported cheese options- but either way the quality is impeccable. Absolutely delicious and devouring food from top to bottom of the menu
We've been here many times and last Saturday evening, we had dinner here for our favorite cousin and his wife visiting from LA. So we had a group of 5. The pizzas and the salads are super delicious always. The servers are so very nice and attentive to our table. We always enjoy our time here. We always like the outside tables specially when it is warm and sunny but even in cool nights, the heaters kept us warm. The place is beautiful inside and the ambience cool. We're happy to be regulars here.
Some of the most delicious Italian food I ever tried and so far the best in SF. House made lasagna was to die for, light weight and just perfect balance of taste. Pastas are fresh and sauces are delicious. I must say I've compared the next day with a long time favorite Italian place and Acquolina's food is hands down!
Limited vegetarian optionsAsked for the shrimp and zucchini pasta to be made vegetarian and it was pretty tasty. The pasta was cooked al dente and a great texture. The other pasta options all seemed to have meat already mixed in. Was still charged the same amount as if there was the seafood though which is a bit disappointing Would pass in the margarita pizza -- it was pretty thin crust and floppy/ not very structurally sound. The Mozzerella was rubbery and not melted into pizza. Not a ton of flavor from the tomato sauce so added on a lot of red pepper flakes and Parmesan Service was friendly but was not as attentive with bringing water refills or clearing plates to make room on the table
Dry, no topping pizza accompanied by a liquidy, runny lasagna, cessar salad without flavor, and an over-cooked clam pasta that tasted like they had forgotten half the ingredients. Pizza came out even before the drinks or my salad, then other dishes staggered in at random.
They get all non-vax customers that are turned away from Tony's Pizza and Original Joes. Be cautious dining indoors because they are not checking if their customers are vaccinated. Service was mediocre, server didn't come to the table to get drink orders for 15 mins. We should have left. Now I need to get tested.
Great place for any occasion, I like to come here to get real Italian food, great atmosphere and cocktails.5 stars indeed for the food and 5 stars for customer service
A pretty solid Italian restaurant beautifully located across the street from Washington Square Park. Staff is very funny & friendly, and the ambiance here is great. We enjoyed a bottle of Italian wine and ordered 2 pizzas, the Diavola and the Giorno & Sera. The pizzas tasted good but didn't blow me away. Don't get me wrong, I still enjoyed the meal, but I just think there are better pizzas in North Beach.I look forward to coming back and trying more of their menu!
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
