Let me be honest: I thought I was going to HATE this place. Friends wanted to go - the first time - and I went along. I came back, so this review is based on two visits. I'm not a big fan of noisy, loud restaurants and this is a loud and noisy restaurant. BUT... the food is exceptional. When the salad says "farmers market picks" they mean it: what they found that day, goes into the salad. I love that. The fritto misto changes, also based on what's available (and unfortunately this time of year, that means parsnips. I'll come back for more). My first cocktail was valid, but not the way I liked it. I mentioned it to the wonderful server (Carmen), and she came back with another: "the bartender couldn't understand why you didn't like it, but then he tasted the olives and... you're right!" She made recommendations AFTER she found out what we liked: "tell me what kind of food you enjoy eating and I'll help you." I had scallop crudo, wonderful (if a bit small), and fresh pappardelle with black truffles and butter. The truffle portion is generous. My partner had the burrata with roasted peppers and anchovies. (So much for "no fish with cheese, " but they get a pass because the burrata was great), and the orecchiete with lobster. He doesn't even like lobster. This was GOOD. I'd say eat the mains and skip dessert, but that's opinion. You'll be in and out in less time than you think you will be, but you'll enjoy your time there. And you'll be back.
