If I could give Allard minus stars, I would.
My husband and I have eaten there many times, but the last time we ate at Allard we both got horrible food poisoning that lasted for a week. When we called and talked to the manager of Allard, he dismissed our allegation, claiming no one else had gotten sick the night we ate there. We KNEW it was something we ate at Allard because we had not eaten together or any of the same foods for 3 days before due to business obligations. The sad part of this was that it was a celebratory dinner for our 30th anniversary, and our children had called Allard earlier that day to pay for our meals as an anniversary present. Enough said, we will never go back there.

This is an amazing and a must go traditional destination for their duck !! Highlight recommend and the intimate ambiance and lighting is a bonus !
Be the first to ReplyThis was our splurge night on our trip to Paris.
I cannot recommend the Duck with Olives enough (though I am a huge Olive fan). The bread they serve was delicious. We did order a bottle of wine and I was disappointed that a sommelier was not available to help with our selection. But the food was delicious and the atmosphere was the high end French culinary classic that we were looking forward.

So disappointed the service tonight 9/19/2023 was so bad , the waitress was not friendly at all and the Maitre D, as soon we arrived she told us right away , there's another service ( means we have to hurry up) even our friends whose Frenchman was shocked w/ the attitude , So sad , after 8 years looking forward to visit again this restaurant and we're coming from California. But the only consolation we had was the food is always so good . Me and my Family will never go back to Allard

Food was very good, service was excellent, and ambience was good. Classic restaurant with an older era charm. Indoor dining only.
Be the first to ReplyRestaurant ambiance pleasant and classic French bistro
Restaurant ambiance pleasant and classic French bistro atmosphere- appetizers not part of the menu cucumber salad and cheese puff bread were wonderful - Duck with olives was juicy, moist, nice blend of earthly flavors- Pate underwhelming however- strawberry Melba was fresh and tasty- great way to end the day-
Be the first to ReplyI find it impossible to believe Alan Ducasse has anything
I find it impossible to believe Alan Ducasse has anything to do with this restaurant other than collecting a check every month. The food less than mediocre, but the service is absolutely awful. The 'manager' was indifferent, and talked down to me about the preparation of duck. She stated the dark meat was prepared 'confit', which means poached in it's own rendered fat (I, myself, am a chef). Most of the dark meat was completely dried out, as though it had been roasted in a 230 degree Celcius oven, overcooked. Some of the dark meat was raw - cooked to about 48 degrees, C. None of it was prepared confit. I advised her the food wasn't very well prepared, and she stated, "I get that complaint all the time." You'd be better off stopping by a random bistro on a street corner, or grab a sandwich from a boulangerie. The olives and the wine were great.

..You know when Alain Ducasse puts his name to a restaurant it is going to be good and thankfully Allard did not disappoint. This turned out to be one of the best dinners in Paris and that is saying a lot as I went to some good places. On the Left Bank where Saint Germain meets the Latin Quarter this restaurant has a front room and a back room, I was happily in the relaxed back dining room. There is something charming and reliably French about the decor, red velvet banquets against country floral wallpaper made for a stylish and inviting feel. And serving the champagne in vintage style coupes was delightful and set a nice touch for the dinner to come. But I am here for the food, and Allard delivered. The menu is French classics given a bit of an update so while completely satisfying familiar cuisine, it also is not exacly the same as the usual bistro which makes for something exciting. The menu is not too big and seasonal and the friendly service was happy to explain anything. I loved the Cod that was served in a foam with beans and crunchy chunks of bacon. It was simply amazing. I started with the foie gras and ended with their cooked figs with yogurt ice cream which was the perfect note to finish on.I can't recommend this place enough. I myself am already making plans to go back so save a place for me...tripadvisor.co.uk/ShowUs…
Be the first to ReplyOur 10th visit to Paris.
First time here. Very old restaurant with supposedly great food. Had the famous duck. Ordered it medium rare and some of it was so undercooked it wasn't edible. The cooked parts were nothing special. Very over priced at 95 Euros duck for two. The appetizer, wine and service were good. Went to the crepe stand for desert. Disappointed. No need to spend 200 Euros for appetizer, wine and duck in Paris- Trust me!
Be the first to ReplyTerrible.
Clearly catering to tourists with a low standard for French cuisine. Unfortunately there was no good service either to make up for the bland, poorly cooked food. Alain Ducasse should be ashamed to have his name associated with this restaurant. We ordered the escargot, duck for two, and a couple of small items. The escargot was okay at best, lacked any complex butter and garlic flavors (have had far better in the US) and the duck had absolutely no flavor and was completely undercooked in some parts, overcooked in others. It was also not properly carved, with many gamey, unappetizing pieces which needed to be set aside on a separate plate. The bread was served by the waiter piece by piece (when one *very small* piece was finished, we needed to ask for another) as if we were on some kind of ration and we also had to ask for butter, as it did not come with the bread apparently. What kind of French restaurant in Paris (or anywhere, for that matter) gives such a small amount of bread? Every other French restaurant in the world I have been to provides plentiful bread and butter. Ridiculous and makes patrons feel unwelcomed. The worst thing was when we got our bill, there was a separate charge for the potatoes. When we had ordered the duck for two, the waiter asked if we would like with that the potatoes or the vegetables, clearly suggesting that we had the option of choosing either of these served with the duck (seemingly included in the price, not a separate charge). After reading other reviews and based on my experience, I think the waiter knew what he was doing and it was a small scam for us to pay an extra ~ €10. The only reason I didn't argue further was because the side of potatoes were the only dish that was even slightly appealing!Overall terrible and a waste of money. Left the restaurant wishing I had not just wasted €160 for a disappointing meal, but glad I had not spent more. Perhaps this restaurant was once very good, but has clearly gone downhill. Unless you are a typical American with extremely low standards for French cooking, AVOID this restaurant.

My wife and I first went to Allard twenty years ago - and I remember the Bresse chicken from that visit as the best bird on the planet. I was excited to see them recognized on the Michelin app - so was ready to book, as it seemed the standards had been upheld. We went back with our two now daughters and the chicken wasn't even close - it was dry (gasp!). They put us in the back dining room along with all the other dumb Americans - some were wearing shorts, others had blue hair and tackle boxes in their respective faces. Wasn't appetizing, but can't blame the restaurant for that. The escargot were well prepared - no surprises there, as was..... can't remember. And it was last night. Otherwise, there are plentiful options in St Germain blocks in every direction that would have served a better meal at a much better price point. Sometimes it's best just to let the memory be what it is, without trying to revisit it. No reason to visit the tourist trap.
Be the first to ReplyAllard is an absolutely perfect spot for dinner in Paris.
It is elegant yet subtle and cozy - not flashy or scene-y at all, which in my opinion is best. Incredible food and stellar service. You will have a completely delicious and delightful experience here.
Be the first to ReplyFood is not great .
..wine selection is solid. Service is amazing ... great hosts. A quiet little charming restaurant that could be better if they executed in terms of food.

My husband and I enjoyed a truly memorable meal here on our last night in Paris. All of our food was cooked spectacularly, service was surprisingly friendly, and we simply could not have asked for a better way to cap off our trip. Well the food is not cheap, the price is very reasonable given the quality and the overall experience. If you want very classic French dining I would recommend Allard.
Be the first to ReplyThere is nothing good to say about this restaurant.
My wife and I began by being seated at a table by the windows which totally blocked the table next to us. Was asked to move by wait staff each time they were servicing the table. We finally moved our self to another table. Signature duck dish and steak very tuff and way over cooked causing them to be totally inedible. The signature rum pound cake was smothered in rum table side. When I asked the manager for a replacement piece he said what do you expect it is rum cake. After three request he finally replaced it. Seriously save your money and go somewhere else.
Be the first to ReplyWent here with my girlfriend specifically to try the duck
Went here with my girlfriend specifically to try the duck for two. We were not disappointed. Duck was great! The service was good and the ambiance was interesting. Felt very old school which I loved. The only detractor were the potatoes. I read some of the other reviews, stating they are too buttery and I agree. Overall great experience. I would like to come back to try the frog legs.

Good to excellent food but seated where the servers constantly bumped me Chair. Few spoke English.
Be the first to ReplyThis was an excellent meal--Alain Ducasse again did not let
This was an excellent meal--Alain Ducasse again did not let me down. Well maybe a little--after all, the pâté en croute entrée was finished by the time of the first dinner seating. But I suppose that only speaks to the excellence of the food here. However, with that small detail aside, the meal was excellent. The cheesy puffs were just as I remembered, the butter came off of a giant slab, and each dish was elegantly presented and delicious. To start I had a goat cheese and tomato salad, which was delicious and refreshing on a 90 degree Paris day. For my plat, I split the duck and olives with my uncle. While I had never had duck before, and I'm not a huge fan of green olives, this dish surpassed my expectations--and I wish I had been able to eat even more. Finally, for dessert, I had an apricot and pistachio thing--truly unsure what it was called, but a unique and yummy combination.Highly suggest finishing any meal here by strolling down to the Seine, past Notre Dame at sunset, and enjoying some ice cream on Île St. Louis...

Highly recommended. Allan Was our servant and he was amazingOur concierge in hotel recommended this restaurant. We walked over there very very nice neighborhood and very cute restaurant as soon as you arrive you will see the kitchen and the foodWe had a tiny table for two of us we ordered appetizer and the sole fish for two people they brought it very very nice presentation he asked us if he can prepare it for us and be very very happy, dealing with bones is not easy for us we had 2 side dishes. Side dishes are not that big, for two people I recommend side dishesWe ordered dessert as well everything was so delicious and on top of that the service was perfect From other people we heard that they are saying they always come to this restaurant whenever they visit ParisThis restaurant going to be in our list for next time to Paris and we are going to recommend it to all our friends, I believe the chef has more than 50 restaurants in Paris we tried another one as well, the cruise, which was amazing too. But believe it or not I'm going to go to this restaurant every time I go to Paris. Don't forget to make reservations because we wanted to go another night as well and we walked in and They were full. just make reservations for sure.

We went here for our anniversary night and was super excited as we had heard great things and read about it while we were in Paris. What disappointed us was the service and the chicken which was their "known" dish. We also got potato croquettes and they were mushy and filled with butter and no flavor which was very underwhelming. We also had to keep pouring our own wine since no one was paying any attention to our table. As a cherry on top, we asked for a photo and the sommelier he just walked away looking at us (he heard us). Also, because we chose this restaurant for our special occasion (and they knew this), they didn't offer a glass of champagne or dessert to celebrate our big night - at the end when they asked how it was, we were very honest and they did not like it very much (can you blame us)? We paid $200 for this?? Very very disappointing. I would suggest paying $200 somewhere else.
Be the first to ReplyNot worth it, go somewhere else.
Unfortunately, this is far from a "great" restaurant. While the atmosphere was cozy and comfortable and the menu that of traditional French Cuisine, the food was bland and apologetic. The chicken, which happens to be the star dish, lacked salt and didn't have the an expected crisp. The croquettes were mush and tasted like they were boiled in butter. However, the curled endive salad stood out with its delicious chunks of bacon, which was by far the best thing we ate.The wine list is very impressive but the sommelier was inattentive and seemed to only focus on customers with expensive bottles of wine. All in all, not worth the visit for the price. You can find meals for under €50 that are much much better.
