Perfection, fantastic, brilliant! We dined at Allora about 3 years ago and were not overly impressed. But we were finally enticed to try it again, and so very glad we did! We have found our new favorite restaurant! If you want an exception fine dining experience, Allora is it. We loved the patio setting - the patio is beautiful, romantic, quiet, and comfortable. My husband and I had the 5-course pre-fix meal and thoroughly enjoyed every dish. Each dish was inventive, had excellent flavors, and the beautiful plating certainly added to the enjoyment. The portions are ample, and we had some left over for the next day, too. We asked the waiter and sommelier to pair our dishes with their choices of wine to bring out the food/wine flavors instead of buying one bottle of wine for the entire dinner. They did not disappoint in their selections! They asked us our wine preferences and made careful pairings that were tasty and perfectly balanced with our dishes. I especially liked the option for 1/2 pours so I could try a different wine selection with each dish. The restaurant policy seems to be very flexible with food and wine choices, which only enhances your dining pleasure. You can really tailor the evening meal to your preferences. The waitstaff were very attentive, friendly, and helpful with suggestions and the service was impeccable. We thoroughly enjoyed our special evening and are now definite fans of Allora. And with the seasonal menu changes, there's always an excuse to go back! I've seen mixed reviews of this place and for that reason it was one of the last fine dining spots I've tried in Sacramento. However, my partner made a reservation here a few days ago and I was completely in awe. Everything from the service to the food was phenomenal.From the moment you walk in, you are greeted and seated. The hostess was incredibly kind and really started off our meal in the best way. The restaurant itself is gorgeous, very modern and minimalist. We were seated outside on their patio and it was perfect weather. The food really exceeded my expectations. It is a course menu, so you choose whether or not you want three, four, or five courses. My partner and I both got the four course and we got different things so it was like having eight different plates to try. Everything was incredible but my highlights of the night had to be the simple, Parmesan risotto with five ounces of shaved black truffle on top as well as their bomboloni donuts with lemon curd. Every item wasn't overly complicated, it celebrated the ingredients, and was cooked to perfection. Not to mention the cocktails were an experience and absolutely gorgeous. Overall, don't wait like I did to go get a phenomenal meal at this gorgeous restaurant. I'm sure it will exceed your expectations as well. Thank you to everyone at Allora!

It's located in an unassuming neighborhood, yet is very stylish & chic. The staff is very knowable & opening friendly. I find some high-end restaurants where the staff tins to be snobs. The food was delicious & full of surprises when it came to taste & texture of the dishes. I opt for the 4-course dinner & it was filling & the taste was outstanding. The star of my meal was the pork cheeks, which I had never had before.They were done to perfection & 24 hours later I still savor the flavor of that braise pork cheek. I look for balance of flavor whenever I eat & the chiefs at Allora know how to balance flavor to showcase their talents through the food they prepare. I would strongly recommend this establishment if you are into fine dinning or just want to treat yourself to great food.

Food wasn't all great as I thought for "fine-dining". The waitress talked so fast about everything that it was easier to tune her out and just nod so we can go back to our conversation. Took us over 2 hrs to finish a 4 course meal, had to ask for our dessert Togo. My fav part of the meals was the first bite that they gave in the tiny plate to start. My man and I got different things so we tried most in the menu and we won't be back. Nothing that stood out that made this a bad experience. I've have way better food, service, and ambiance for 1/2 the price, that's all.

Really enjoyed our dinner here! Pre fix, pricey, great for date night or a special occasion. Hubs and I ordered the 4 course pre fix meal. Highly recommend the pasta course! (The difference between the 3 course and 4 course meal). Was going to write all about our courses, but forgot to post, and now I can't remember! It was delicious though, and a wonderful, relaxing experience. Highly recommend for a memorable and delicious meal!

This was a special and unforgettable experience! My boyfriend and I came here for an early Valentine's celebration and boy did it meet/exceed expectations. The dinner from beginning to end was so remarkable thanks to both the incredible chefs and the friendly wait staff. They took such good care of us and we were perfectly content the entire time. From the oysters to the pork belly to bucatini to the fettuccine to the scallops to the octopus to the desserts. Everything was bursting with flavor and sent you to cloud nine. We were absolutely giddy going into it and even more so coming out. Pretty sure I'll be thinking about this food for the rest of my life!

I heard a lot of great things about this restaurant from my friends who came recently. We were given a gift card for Christmas here so we decided to finally come try it out for early Valentines Day dinner. The interior and patio are nicely decorated. Very simple and elegant. They only accept reservations for outdoor seating but the "outdoor" is a fully covered patio with heaters, so don't worry about being too cold. There are less than a dozen tables on the patio so it's not too crowded at all. It's a more intimate setting that I feel can be on the quieter side. It was definitely more formal and quiet when we were there in the beginning but later there was a very loud party of 5-6 people near us so it felt more casual during the latter part of our visit, at some times we couldn't even hear each other. You could tell it was them making it loud too because the place got quiet as soon as they stopped to take a group photo. Their menu is prix fixe and you can choose 3, 4, or 5 courses, and pick your items for each course. They are actually quite flexible too, so you don't necessarily need to pick an antipasti, pasta, and entree - you could pick three entrees, or a pasta and two entrees, whichever combo you like. You can also pick different course amounts per person, so you don't necessarily need to pick the same amount for everyone, which is great if you have a big eater and a small eater. We liked that you could have these options because most places don't do that. We ended up sticking to four courses for both of us with one item per section on the menu anyway because we did like items in every section. The four course menu was $120 and plenty of food. The portions are larger than we expected it to be but we were so happy to be stuffed by the end of it. I really liked that we got to pick our own separate items because that allowed us to try two different items per course! Everything was amazing but my favorites were the polpo (octopus) with delicious gnocchi, and the uni and dungeness crab bucatini. The pork belly was very tender, and it was a bright and fresh dish with the pomegranate and citrus fruits. I loved the fettuccine noodles in the tomato parma rosa sauce, but I felt like there was too much pancetta that overpowered the lobster and prawn flavor. I wasn't a huge fan of the scallop dish but I think because of some kind of flavor profile in there, I'm thinking it was the parsnips. But the scallops were cooked perfectly. We weren't planning to get the zabuton but the server recommended it while we were ordering so we decided to get that and it was a great choice. The meat was tender and I really liked the mustard and demi glace flavors. We both loved the bomboloni dessert - lemon curd donut holes with a side of vanilla gelato. Can't beat fresh warm donuts! The spumoni bombe was good too but very rich and I'm not a huge chocolate person. A couple bites was plenty for me. The pistachio cake at the bottom was my favorite part of that one, but we didn't eat the rest of the cherries because it was too tart and strong for our liking. Service was great - our server was friendly and very approachable. Various staff came to refill waters and brought new utensils for every course. There was one guy who dropped off our food who seemed to be in training because there was another person behind him watching. He didn't seem to remember what was in the entree and he just kinda mumbled and trailed off. Luckily it was pretty loud in the room, and he was wearing a mask, so we wouldn't have known any better. But hey that's what the written menu is for, and it gave us a good laugh! Overall this is definitely now in my top 5 restaurants to recommend to anyone looking for a nice formal dinner in the Sacramento area. Even though I could've done without a couple of the dishes, overall everything made my tastebuds happy and I enjoyed it much more than some of the more well-known restaurants in our area. I also think the flexibility of their course menu puts them a step above the rest. I can't believe it took us this long to come try it but I'm glad we finally did!

The food and service has been absolutely perfected since my last visit. I’m not sure I have experienced such perfect service and restaurant in very long time.

We had a party of four all participants in the $120.00 each 4 course Prix Fixe meal. It was a special Social Media announced BOGO Special Night Everything was spectacular, however I could not imagine eating here for full price unless I hit the lottery. There is at 23% service charge (pre discounts) added to the already high prices, which takes the place of the normal gratuity, although the bill asks if you would like to leave additional gratuity too. With taxes added on you are looking at your meal costing about a 1/3 more than listed price and if you add on cocktails you are dropping some $$$.

The pulpo was better than the last time I had it and it was incredibly good then. The beet salad was one of the largest and best I have had and I make it a point to get beat salads often. The dishes that were less than special were the risotto and desserts, but they were tasty.
