Amazing Lunch
Met friends at this Deli for lunch last Thursday. Parking was at a premium as this is a VERY popular place. However, we were seated right away and the line to order went fairly smoothly. I had a Genoa Salami and cheese sandwich with a side salad. The bread was delicious, soft on the inside, yet crusty on the outside. The meat and cheese were outstanding and the side salad had just the right amount of vinegar and olive oil dressing. We also enjoyed a frozen espresso and a dainty lemon mousse dessert. All was amazing! I will definitely return.

I've heard about this place for many years. Finally got a chance to stop. A most wonderful Italian food and some real Italian grocery items. Wife and I just had Caio sandwich it was most wonderful. The salad that I had was the best. Loved the correct mixture of olive oil and vinegar.
Be the first to ReplyThe best and most authentic Italian food in Arizona
This is perhaps the best Italian food youโll get an Arizona. It is not the fanciest. In fact, you order at the counter, but Giovanni is the best Italian chef in Arizona. We are Italian family from Lake Como and the food here is like eating in a delicious trattoria in Italy, we love everything from the fresh mozzarella, to the delicious pasta with authentic sauces, and it is unusual in such a casual environment to find such fresh fish and delicious meat dishes.
Be the first to ReplyGreat ingredients, great preparation. Faultless.
I was born and raised in Italy, I'm passionate about food and I believe I understand it and know it. The food at Andreoli Italian Grocer is, hands down, the best and most "Italian" Italian food I have had in this country in the last 20 years. I have been there for dinner and lunch many times and the quality of the food and the warm, friendly ambiance never failed me. Top quality, fresh ingredients and a faultless, no frills preparations. Just perfect.

This place is always packed, but the staff manage to organize everything from seating to food service without delay. Probably the best sandwich options in the Valley, with terrific desserts of all types. A bit pricey compared to other local delis, but excellent experience.

Andreoli's was one of the Triple D places I visited on my latest road trip. I am glad that I had checked the menu before hand. I was still a bit overwhelmed placing my order. The guy taken the orders was great, and helped me place mine. It was another great day in Scottsdale so I got a table on the patio. I ordered the Caio and it didn't take long to come to my table. The baguette was super fresh and crusty on the outside and pillowy soft on the inside. There were piles of thinly sliced beef that was very tasty but needed a touch of pepper. The provolone cheese was nicely melted, and the sauteed onions added a nice tang. I could be wrong but I think I also detected a slight hint of fennel. The salad greens were very fresh and dressed with a vinaigrette that was a touch oily but still very good. I felt bad I never got my server's names but they were great. When one of them found out I was Canadian and on a DDD road trip, we had a great conversation. I may return to Arizona next fall. If I do, I will return to Andreoli's now that I understand how the menu works.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing Fresh Italian Food!
One of the best places for Italian food in AZ! It is worth the drive. You order at the counter and they bring it out to you. Everything is made fresh to order and the servings are huge. Plenty to share or have leftovers. We go here every time we are in AZ sometimes twice! I', 100% Italian and Andreoli's does not disappoint!

Great food and nice atmosphere. Great outdoor patio. We went to this restaurant for lunch with my parents who live in Scottsdale. The staff were very nice and friendly as well.
Be the first to ReplyAuthentic Italian
Andreoli appears to be authentic Italian food. Our family enjoyed a sampling of some of their many dishes. The waiter served and excellent Cianti to pair with the meal. If you enjoy Itanialn food this should be on your bucket list.
Be the first to ReplyJust Average
We've been here a few times and were never wowed. The food is average at best, and the service a little coarse. There is no ambiance here, and the restaurant looks like a store that serves food. The prices are a bit high, and parking can be a nightmare depending when you go. This is not the first place we think of when we crave Italian in the Phoenix metro area.
Be the first to ReplyNot nice
I don't get why these people think they are doing their guests a favor but the attitude is lame. They take your order for plain bowtie pasta with simple red sauce, and serve you penne which is under cooked and chewy. How can you ruin processed dry pasta? No one comes to check back with you. I take the pasta back to counter to tell them its the wrong order and under cooked and the owner negates everything I tell her, without any sort of apology. She concedes to take the dish back. Staff brings me a check still charging me $25 for pasta my partner never ate. They agreed to take $25 pasta off the check but it should never have been presented to me in the first place. It has been 4 years since I went here because I felt they treat certain guests better than others and I felt slighted back then. Now I don't think they will get another chance.
Be the first to ReplyThought I was in Italy rather than Scottsdale. Perfetto.
Absolute heaven. There are few culinary experiences or environments in the US that actively make me long for Italy. If you know you know. For all others, until you go or return to the land of love, wine, and food visit this place for a taste of that beautiful country.
Be the first to ReplyWow! Phoenix Magazine REALLY?!!!
Have you ever really wanted to go to a movie because the critics thought it was great, and then you go and can't understand what the critics were thinking! That is exactly how my wife and I felt! We went for our anniversary because of this place being rated " best upscale Italian". WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT! The bread was mediocre at best. The caprese salad (they call it something different) was good after I seasoned it with a little salt and pepper. My wife decided to have their pizza. She was unimpressed. I thought it was inedible. I ordered the spaghettini with fresh crab and octopus. Lacked seasoning. Crab didn't taste fresh. The cannoli pastry was not to standard. NO ATMOSPHERE!!! We have traveled all over the US and the world and love great Italian food. Phoenix Magazine, you have lost your mind!!!!!

Got lucky when I found this place by chance near my hotel in Scottsdale, Authentic Italian with quick friendly service. Impressive Italian desert case as well. Place was busy and seemed to be a neighborhood place frequented by locals.

Great atmosphere, fun/spunky/attentive staff. Great place for a family dinner. Dinner and dessert was wonderful. I will certainly return.
Be the first to ReplyLunch at Andreoli
The Italian sandwich was so incredible that I felt like I was back in Florence. I loved the shoe string fries with the leeks mixed in, and their burrata was to die for.
Be the first to ReplyVery Good Lunch
Our first time here and we enjoyed ourselves. Try the sausage & peppers sandwich. Not the cheapest lunch you will have, but it is very good.
Be the first to ReplyBEST Eggplant Parm Sandwich
A Jersey girl transplant, I almost cry from happiness eating this sandwich! We drive 2 hours one way from Sedona to treat ourselves to lunch here. First I had the gnocchi and loved it until I took a bite of that sandwich. Now that is the only thing I can eat! Eggplant is soft and tasty, not too cheesy. Bread is Italian--I believe made there. I bought a loaf of bread that is definitely made there and it is delicious! My husband and I decided to pass on a fancy dinner in Sedona for our 26th anniversary so we could have lunch here instead. Only sorry I didn't know about this years ago! GO!

Great home made gnocchi and fabulous bread!! Casual environment and delicious deserts too! Order at the counter and then they give you a table number. Nice local place:-)
Be the first to ReplyAMAZING basic, no frills Italian;
Wow! If you are looking for amazing, authentic Italian cuisine without a pretentious atmosphere, this is it. Top quality ingredients and a remarkable wine program given the humble environment. The Buffala Caprese was so flavorful. My mark of a great Italian restaurants is how well the do a simple Spaghetti Pomodoro; they NAILED it! Will be back.
Be the first to ReplyUndercooked pasta - and an indignant waiter.
The rigatoni and penne pasta was hard and rubbery (undercooked). When we informed the waiter he said others had complained lately, but thatโs how the owners prepared it, and theyโre Italian and thatโs how they prefer it. My wife and I have traveled throughout Italy, and without exception the pasta was prepared al dente. Maybe the owners do like their pasta rubbery. If so, how about preparing the pasta the way the patrons prefer it?
Our waiter then told us next time we visit to order the pasta โextra cookedโ so itโs more to our liking. There wonโt be a next time.
Fun atmosphere, good food but overpriced.
Food, as always, was good. Order at counter, take a number, and orders are then brought to your table. Pasta with veal sauce was outstanding. Spaghettini with white clam sauce not very good. Food is overpriced, but it is a fun atmosphere.
Be the first to ReplyTasty, authentic Italian food!
This is a nice casual place with a fun atmosphere. I felt a little pressured, ordering at the counter (people behind us, etc.) There's a big deli/bakery section, as well as areas on the sides with sauces, wines, etc. (hence the "grocery"). Everything is on a blackboard, including the daily specials, which are numerous. We ordered two of those, and they were absolutely delicious. It's a little pricey, but it's Scottsdale.
Be the first to ReplyVery good but at what price?
I had a bowl of soup which was very good so I ordered another because I wasn't full. I didn't see the price since it wasn't listed but when the bill came it was $30. So after the tip it cost me $37 for two bowls of soup . Sorry but to me this is a little bit extreme, back home in Palm Beach Florida it would've cost less than half that

Have been here four times in two years, most recently three weeks ago, and we'll be back often. We've had several salads and sandwiches, all delicious, and the cappuccino cake is not to be missed. Great house-baked bread! Locals love this place, and we know why.
