Yall, the breakfast here was okay.
If you're coming just for the hot chocolate, it's not as pretty or impressive as Carrette. Carrette wins in the hot chocolate for me. The interior was beautiful but as you got to the back back near the restrooms, it seemed to have been forgotten. The decor wasn't that nice, it felt cramped and that's where we were seated. I don't know why but the pastries on the menu are more expensive by 2-4 euros than the SAME pastries in the bakery display shop. There was a separate line JUST for the bakery. I'd recommend you do that instead, save yourself the euros and time of waiting in the long line to dine in. The mont-blanc is one of their iconic desserts and it's pretty but the taste wasn't there and didn't finish it. The rest of the breakfast was okay but nothing too special. Yall know the coffee in France is small and expensive. it wasn't even espresso. I asked our server if they did refills and he's like "no. you just buy another coffee". LOL. Also, our server was pushy at the end and made us give him a tip. The bill didn't have tip included and we were speaking in Spanish and our mistake was discussing this while he was standing there and he knew the Spanish word for 'tip' and was like, "how much do you want to add?" (while holding the card machine in his hand so he could enter the amount. HOW AWKWARD!!!!! Across the street was the gardens which were lovely to walk through and you're close to the Louvre too. If you reallyyyy truly want to try this place, just go to the bakery :)

The hot chocolate I've had on this trip to Paris! The desserts were so creative and beautiful, almost too pretty to eat haha
Be the first to ReplyService: The line was very long, about 25 minutes.
We were seated on the 2nd floor, which is not the preferable area and was quite stuffy. The waiters and the hosts were nice and helpful. We were provided with the menu and served our choices shortly after ordering. Keep in mind that groups of 3 and more will be seated quicker, a few groups behind us in line were seated before us due to the availability of the larger tables. Food: We just came in for drinks and desserts. For drinks we ordered a vanilla milkshake, which was very sweet but delicious, and tea, which was just plain regular tea. For dessert we ordered Nuage Miel dragée and Finger noisette (pictures and their menu descriptions attached below). The Finger noisette was delicious and looked very pleasant. The Nuage Miel dragée, while beautiful, was not very pleasant to eat. The white outer shell was sweet and tender, but the inside jelly-like part contained chestnut, which added a very bitter aftertaste. I couldn't finish the Nuage and felt a little sick after it. Ambience: While there is nothing to complain about, there is also no unusual things I'd like to mention. It is a regular tea/dessert place with a cute pastry bakery shop on the first floor. There was nothing exceptional about the decor or the vibe. It was pleasant. Overall: Food 7/10 Service 10/10 The wait 5/10 Ambience 8/10 I think there are many more places with good desserts that are worth visiting. Angelina might be slightly overrated.

My absolute favorite spot from my recent Paris trip! It 100% lives up to the hype and I'd highly recommend carving out time to dine here. My friend and I came around 11 AM and though we were expecting the line to be long, it wasn't too bad! We only waited about 15-20 minutes. The interior here is huge and they're a well-oiled machine, so even if the line might be intimidating, it does go fast. The vibes here are exquisite, and exactly what you'd imagine. It's so adorable and homey, yet chic and elegant. It can be a rather tight space depending on where you get seated, but breakfast in Paris doesn't get much better than this. My friend and I both got the Angelina breakfast, and each item was so delicious, though unsurprisingly, the Hot Chocolate is the star. So decadent!! The croissants, eggs, and bread were also a hit, and I love their in-house spreads and jams. We also got a ton of little trinkets, souvenirs, and pastries before leaving. An absolute must!
Be the first to ReplyNothing less than wonderful.
The Gin & Tonic was the best I've ever had. Anywhere. Perfection. The food...Fantastic. The desserts...Divine. The service...Wonderful. I cannot say enough about Angelina.
Be the first to ReplyI tried their famous hot chocolate and loved it.
While the desserts were good, they didn't quite blow me away.

Be the first to ReplyThis place was cute.
I liked the food. The eggs were OK a little watery and the avocado toast was not what I expected. But the presentation of the food looked beautiful. The line was very long. I suggest cutting it. The hot chocolate was very well I suggest ordering it. And lastly, the service was horrendous.

First there was a decently long line to get in so keep that in mind. The place presents itself as fancy but there is no dress code. The food all looks good and I had the Avocado toast. It looked amazing but it stops there. I tried some other items that were good like the thick hot chocolate which is very thick and is more like chocolate syrup than hot chocolate. Overall it was a good place but I feel the food could be improved by focusing less on looks but looks get instagram followers.
Be the first to ReplyHad Marie Antoinette been serving cakes from Angelina,
Had Marie Antoinette been serving cakes from Angelina, then, possibly, only her husband's name might appear on a plaque near the obelisk at Place de la Concorde, a mere ten minute walk away. Naturally, you'll wait in a long line to indulge, a short reprieve where one, unfortunately, has enough time to knit something with the Tricoteuses, positioned nearby. Sadly, the individuals serving these splendid confections are not expeditious in their craft, taking their time executing each order, and, one could only assume, do not descend from the family Sanson, or Deibler, who would have lopped off a succulent piece of cake far swifter. Unless you make a reservation, and enjoy your treats in the lovely dining room, there is not even a bascule to rest upon when partaking. The fare at Angelina is very rich, and meant to be eaten, as famously declared by Pierre Chaumette. But, if that kind of luxe just ain't for us, or if we crave a different kind of buzz, you can select an espresso and forego the sweets because we can't all be royals.
Be the first to ReplyNot worth the wait.
We went early in the morning for breakfast. We waited almost a hour before we got seated. We ordered the Parisian breakfast. They gave extra croissants and chocolate croissant. Servers weee nice, but super busy.I wasn't a fan of the sweet glaze on the croissant. I wouldn't wait in this line again. They gave a 15% off coupon for the gift shop. They told me my purchases were eligible, annoying. I bought a jar of raspberry jam, which I regretted and should have just went to Monoprix to pick some up.

Came here since someone mentioned it was one of the best hot chocolate places in Paris. We lined up for 30 mins before we got a seat and I got the cafe mocha which was a mix of coffee and hot chocolate which I enjoyed a lot since it wasn't so sweet. Their hot chocolate is very rich and dense as well. Great to take photos as well :)
Be the first to ReplyAngelina is famous for hot chocolate, so make sure to try
Angelina is famous for hot chocolate, so make sure to try that during your visit. It's so rich it causes you to slow down and savor it. Honestly, it's probably the best hot chocolate I've ever had. Adding the whipped cream brings a whole new level to the drink. If you visit after 3 pm, you can enjoy tea time which includes small sandwiches and sweets plus a cup of hot chocolate for 25 euros. There are plenty of other options if you come by at a different time or are not interested in high tea. While Angelina is quite large and the servers do a good job of turning over the tables quickly, be prepared to wait. However, the line outside moves quickly, so don't let it stop you from visiting. If anything, you'll get some time to look through the menu and the gift shop. If you're just visiting the gift shop, you don't need to wait in line.
Be the first to ReplyIf you love hot chocolate, you must make time to visit
If you love hot chocolate, you must make time to visit Angelina's - this location is walking distance from the Louvre. The wait was about 30 minutes to enter - here's some advice: avoid arriving a hour before closing time (like we did) to avoid being turned away or asked to return another day. Also, we missed out on being able to order most of the menu items since it would be closing within the hour. It was disappointing, but understandable. We could only try the pastries and drinks, so we opted for the hot chocolate, frozen frappe and a lemon tart. The hot chocolate is a chocolate lover's dream come true and the frozen frappe was a pleasant and yummy surprise. As for the lemon tart, let's just say it was very tarty - a cup of water helps! The ambiance is fantastic - it feels like you've been invited to a beautiful castle to enjoy a legendary drink and french pastry. Stop reading, and head over there to enjoy!
Be the first to ReplyWe visited Angelina twice during our visit to Paris - once
We visited Angelina twice during our visit to Paris - once at the location by the Lourve and another time at Versailles - and we enjoyed both times. I saw this spot recommended by a lot of folks during my trip planning, but I didn't realize just how popular it was until we visited the location by the Louvre and waited for over an hour in line before being seated. They are known for their hot chocolate and sweets, which is honestly all they serve most of the times of day. The hot chocolate was VERY good - it was quite hot and had a great mouth feel being thick but smooth. It also wasn't too sweet; it seemed semi-sweet which made it easier to drink the whole pitcher lol. We liked our pastries at Versailles best - cheese cake and roche praline. They were both fantastic and we finished both. At the Louvre location we got the famous mont blanc, a chocolate eclair, and another traditional dessert that had layers of flaky pastry and creme. All three of these were decent, but not quite our favorites and we didn't finish them. I think trying the Mont Blanc is a right of passage when visiting Paris, so I'd recommend giving it a try for the experience mostly!

Angelina is a place that we must stop by whenever we are in Paris. Definitely worth the wait!
Be the first to ReplyThis is the best patisserie in all of Paris.
The freshest and the best recipes. Probably partially due to the high volume of foot traffic, so there's probably fresh batches of baked goods constantly coming out of the oven. You can expect to wait in line at any given time even if you are just getting macarons to go. But it's worth it. I recommend getting something to go, even if you sit down for their famous hot chocolate, and then walking around the park with your fresh treats.
Be the first to ReplyWorth a visit when you're in Paris.
Must have to try the hot chocolate. Beware it can get super creamy as it's thick.I bought two loose leaf tea home and both are super yummy.

LOVED the hot chocolate here! There's a huge selection of goodies but our stop was mostly to try out the sweets. Highly recommend going early to beat the crowds or grabbing to go if you just want to try the drinks/desserts.

If you want to sit down and have lunch you definitely need a reservation in advance. There was a massive line out front so we decided to skip waiting and go in towards the bakery to get something to go. The inside is so clean and such an inviting atmosphere. I finally got to try the hot chocolate and it's 100% worth it, best hot chocolate I have ever had. I also grabbed some macaroons and those were delicious as well. I would love to go back but will make a reservation next time.
Be the first to ReplyThe wait to enter the restaurant was not as long as I
The wait to enter the restaurant was not as long as I expected it to be even though the line seemed long outside. Service was very quick. We got the brunch. Everything was very good and fresh. The only complaint I can have was that the hot choclate was overly sweet as expected which made the french toast a bit less desirable as that was very sweet also. Other than that it was outstanding both in service and quality of food.
Be the first to ReplyWorth the wait.
Worth the hype. Fantastic staff better French foods. Macarons on the way out too.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing!! Worth the wait and the long line.
Plan your day around the location near the museums makes it worth your while. The breakfast is worth it but so is the lunch! I would suggest going after 11am so you can get both!
Be the first to ReplyWe had been looking forward to going to Angelina's for
We had been looking forward to going to Angelina's for months however had very poor service. We patiently waited in a 45 minute line. Our waitress was not very friendly which was unexpected for this type of establishment. My earl grey tea was awful. Very weak and had an odd taste. Also the portion size was oddly small. Honestly, my 13 year old cousin was the only one truly happy with her meal. She loved the onion soup and the baguette with jam. Here is where the issue arises. She loved the peach jam so much that she devoured the entire mini jar. When we were walking back from the restroom she saw that there were jams displayed so took 2 peach Jams to the table. They appeared to be for anyone to take. When she sat down one of the servers proceeded to yell at her in a flurry of French and then English. The only part we understood was "Don't take, ask!" It was humiliating the entire restaurant was looking at us. She apologized and offered to put it back. She was met with a "No." Our waitress never returned although she continued to serve the tables surrounding us. We had to ask her for the bill. When looking at the bill we noticed they charged for the two peach jams lol. So petty! Our waitress never addressed it. Such poor service. You have the jams out there like ketchup in a fast food restaurant. We go to teas all the time with those mini jams and have never been charged. It felt very retaliatory. If you are ok with kids being yelled at this is the place for you. All he needed to do was kindly tell us we charge for extra jams. Instead of feeling the need to humiliate a child.
Be the first to ReplyBest brunch place in all of Paris.
Convenient location, and great food. Highly recommend. Hot chocolate and macaroons are amazing
