Great- not great service
Food was so amazing. Not a great waitress at all. Not friendly, sarcastic and just off. Definitely changed vibe of experience.

It’s hard to get in at Angelica’s for a reason- truly delicious food. I was able to score a reservation for a Wednesday in August, no easy feat. It was already quite busy and bustling. We sat inside since I didn’t want to take a chance on the weather, but the outside is quite nice. The ambiance is hip and convivial. However it’s the food that is the star here. We were a group of 6 and we all enjoyed our dishes. APPETIZERS BURRATA | sweet english peas, crispy prosciutto, garlic bread POLPETTE EMILIA POLPO | pan seared octopus, boiled potatoes, lemon, garlic, parsley TUNA CARPACCIO ENTREES HALIBUT SPECIAL OVER RISOTTO SALTIMBOCCA ALLA ROMANA-veal scallopini DESSERTS BISCOTTI PISTACHIO CAKE GELATO I will say it again, it’s all about the food!

Over-rated. Our party of four found the service to be very poor and the food to be very average. Generally, at a very good restaurant, each member of your group would make positive comments on the entree they ordered. Didn't happen with us. The food was good, but did not pass to the very good rating. Not worth the price nor the wait. It took our waitress 20 minutes to get us the bill, and we never saw her again after she took our order. Additionally, a very noisy restaurant making it hard to engage in conversation during dinner unless you shouted. We also had to wait 30 minutes after our time of reservation before being seated. There are plenty of better Italian restaurants in New Jersey to frequent so I would recommend passing on this one.
Be the first to ReplyWorthy of the highest praise: great food; service; and staff in a quiet and nicely appointed setting. GO!
Met at the door by a friendly Maitre d who welcomed us in despite being late for lunch(1:45). The staff greeting and service was equally impressive. BYOB, although we passed at lunch (liquor store two doors down). Special mushroom appetizer was phenomenal as were the Sagliola (sole) and Halibut specials, each with wonderful sides. We’ve wanted to visit for some time and got very lucky on a beautiful Spring day. After enjoying a cappuccino and teramisu the Sea Bright boardwalk across the street called for a peaceful stroll.

We were a table of 8. I ordered one of favorite dishes Shrimp Francese, while the rest of the table ordered Fish Dishes. After a long wait we were served. I took one bite and had to spit it out. It was cooked with extreme spices. I called over the waitress, who apologized and asked what would like and she would rush it. I asked for the same dish my wife had. the waitress came over about 15 minutes later to say they couldn't rush that dish. So I aske what can they rush. she named a dish and I said fine. I should add i'm 73 years old and this is probably the third dish I ever sent back and having been a waiter and bus boy in my teens, I am patient with restaurant servers. After the 7 other people at my table not only finished their meals, the table was cleared, one of my friends left the table to find our waitress and gave a her what for! she immediately came over to the table with a fish and stated so everyone could heart hat she would not charge me for my meal. When I finished my meal, we received the bill which included both my the dish I sent back and the the new dish. when we pointed out the error she came back with a new bill with one of the dished being charged for one of the dishes. Again we pointed out that she said that we would not be charged for my meal and if she didn't correct the bill, we wanted to see the manager. A manager came over came and stated that it is ANGELICEA'S POLICY TO CHARGED FOR BOTH DISHES IF A CUSTOMER RETURNS A DISH FOR SOMETHING OTHER THAN THE ORIGINAL DISH FOR REPLACEMENT AND THAT THE MADE AN EXCEPTION FOR US AND ONLY CHARGED FOR ONE DISH. All 8 of us agreed. ANGELICA'S NEVER AGAIN.
Be the first to ReplyWe were lucky to snag an outside
We were lucky to snag an outside table right out front of this very popular restaurant for lunch on a sunny warm afternoon in November. The service is top notch, Carlos our waiter was very friendly & attentive. The food is deftly prepared and a feast not only for your palette but by sight & smell. We started with the vongole (clams) & melanzana (fried eggplant) my boyfriend & I shared our appy’s & enjoyed them both although the eggplant was slightly over fried & the sauce a little acidic but still very good. When our entrees arrived the table next to us all wanted to know what we ordered as the aroma was wafting over to their table. I had the snapper special with a light tomato broth & saffon risotto, a 10. My boyfriend got the linguine sorentina, which was delicious as well. It’s taken us over 4 months to actually get a table here as during the beginning of restaurants opening due to the pandemic they had a limited number of tables available & weren’t even accepting reservations. Which seeing how incredibly busy this afternoon lunch was I can understand why. This is located in a busy area of Sea Bright but there is ample parking in the lot across the street, plus it’s a BYOB. I think the price point on some items was a little high (Cacio e Pepe $22 on lunch menu $32 on dinner menu) but still highly recommended and tell Oscar I sent you!

Anjelica's, Anjelica's! We have been hearing about Anjelica's for a long time and finally went for my pre-birthday dinner. The weather was perfect that evening- a precursor to our dining experience. We scored an alfresco table and received wonderful service throughout the night. I noticed a few Yelpers complained about the tables being too close during Covid but we did not get that vibe.
Appetizers:
Langoustines-delicious-wanted a dozen to go
Eggplant parmigiana- presentation was different. It was plated as a long, breaded piece. Very good.
Rigatoni Bolognese- one of the best Bolognese out there. Pasta was homemade.
Entrees:
Halibut over lobster risotto- perfectly cooked fish and amazing lobster risotto. Nicely executed dish.
Dessert:
Blueberry tart- good but didn't have the wow factor that was present in the savory dishes.
We now understand the hype bestowed upon Anjelica's and look forward to our next visit.
Outstanding
So we have always purchased gift certificates to Angelica’s for friends and family but have never eaten here...that is until last Friday. Truly the food is outstanding! Anthony and Carlos were an amazing team helping us make decisions about what to order. After hearing that we wanted a pasta “fix” for an appetizer, Anthony suggested the ravioli entree special as a starter. My husband’s rack of lamb was “amazingly tender” - his description. I was torn between the Black Sea bass and halibut. I went with the halibut and wow-outstanding. This is a an amazing gem of a restaurant. (I would suggest reservations!)

The best restaurant in New Jersey, the food is incredible the lobster fra diavolo is a must have item on the menu
Be the first to ReplyNice atmosphere and good food
We were there on a Friday night and found the restaurant to be attractive and buzzing. Our waitress was charming and attentive. The food was okay with the sliced steak somewhat less then tender. The mixed seafood was good. The chopped salad was very good but the stuffed mushrooms were somewhat bland. Our dessert was okay.

How to describe the ultimately genuine and authentic Italian experience from ambiance to the freshly farmed, seasonal local produce complimenting each dish. The family owned business is clearly portrayed as you watch each employee team up together to bring forth a special experience for each customer. The music, the interior, the art, the decal on the plates...all sensations deriving from a home cooked meal with a simplistic yet luxurious feel. Always a night to remember from taste, to service, to ambiance, to feeling the perfect balance of being out, but maintaining the flavors of your favorite nonna's home cooked meals. Highly recommended for any and all occasions.

WOW!
If you are seeking a first class dining experience look no further than Angelica’s.
We enjoyed a birthday celebration at Angelica’s and it couldn’t have been a better evening.
Service by Oscar was thoroughly professional-attentive and friendly and not intrusive.
There is outside dining in front and down a side alley which must be enjoyable in the spring, summer and early fall-we however ate inside. The only downside of Angelica’s is the seating is somewhat cramped and loud in the dining room but the service and the food overcome this shortcoming.
The pasta, all of the pasta is homemade and is absolutely to die for and can stand alone as a reason to visit. It is truly special with a sauce that is light and not overpowering.
Apps to check out include the fresh jersey tomatoes with mozzarella and a roasted cauliflower in a pool of a light cream sauce-Yumm!
Main courses were outstanding as well. Grilled Halibut was crispy on the outside yet warm and moist on the inside on a bed of sautéed spinach and pasta. Veal Parm on the bone was special-Huge and almost didn’t fit on the plate. Terramisu was heavenly and served on cold plates and was also to die for.
Angelica’s is BYOB with parking on the street and across from a municipal parking lot. Spring Lake has a hip upbeat street vibe which was nice for a walk after dinner.
Reservations are a must-at least a month in advance for the weekend so plan ahead.
Angelica’s is not cheap by any means but don’t let that dissuade you! Special experiences are special for a reason. Angelica’s is absolutely worth every penny.
Celebration for Our 52nd Wedding anniversay
The dinner made my 52nd wedding anniversary a memorable occasion. I enjoyed my dinner immensely. The food was excellent. They have a number of great choices on the menu. The wait staff was very efficient and the service was timely. The waiter made a number of good recommendations and was very accommodating to my husband who is allergic to garlic. The portions were large. I am still looking for a way to re-create the orange pound cake that I ordered for dessert. My husband had the flan for dessert and he commented that it was very good. It is a BYOB restaurant. It is a restaurant that I would definitely recommend to others.

One of my favorite restaurants at the shore. Service is always amazing as well as the food. Small dining room but well spaced tables.
Everything is fresh Italian. Never had a bad experience. It’s a BYOB so you get to drink your favorite wine with the awesome dishes. A must experience place for sure
