Small foods. Best service. Amazing food. Cool all around. Recommend big time.
Be the first to ReplySuper impressed by Anomaly and think overall they are now
Super impressed by Anomaly and think overall they are now one of my tops picks for best restaurant in SF, especially when considering quality, amount, and value of food holistically. The tasting menu came out to about $180 with gratuity included, which honestly felt like such a steal for what we got. The winter tasting menu featured a lot of fennel, and they did a great job weaving it into every dish. I pretty much enjoyed every single thing in the menu, which is rare. Flavors were unique and well balanced, and pacing of the meal was super great. We were so full by the end of the meal, which is a good feeling to have given I've definitely walked out still hungry at a few fine dining/Michelin experiences in SF. Overall will plan on returning when they switch to a new summer menu given how much I enjoyed the meal.
Be the first to ReplyCreative tasting menu.
Every dish was a winner. Loved the presentation, the ingredients, and the local sourcing. Bravo Chef Langam. Nice touch coming out to meet your fans and tell us about your dishes.

Went here with the hubby for our anniversary, and was first to be seated in their cozy but modern dining room across from the kitchen. We were greeted by Francis (GM) who gave us a rundown of the extra offerings and decided on ordering the bottle of the moment: a 1995 Cab from South Africa which was smooth and balanced. Next we had the caviar supplement which was accompanied by 2 dense but delicious pieces of bread with a dollop of crรจme fraiche. Francis offered an extra pour of the complementary sparkling which made it even better. The first dish started off with the pate made entirely with cashew and topped with cocoa nibs. It made for an amazing bite of yumminess which surprised both of us. Next was the famous egg soufflรฉ dish which was an explosion of umami goodness and both of us wanted 5 more to eat lol. The soup topped with dry ice and accompanied by 2 little round cheese bread was sooo delicious. I could have eaten a dozen more of that cheese bread! The dessert wasn't that memorable (I don't have a sweet tooth) but I really enjoyed the presentation and taste of the basil flavored roll cakes. We were given complementary double fudge BP served on tiny spoons which my PB loving hubby enjoyed. Each server was attentive and little did we know until the end of the night that our favorite server is actually the owner/chef of the restaurant who just humbly served us with humor and care. His sous chef, Ryan was also very attentive and funny. Loved the ambience and music as well. Please give these establishment a try; you won't regret it and will leave feeling full and happy. Highly recommend! Fine dining without an air of pretentiousness = my kind of vibes!
Be the first to ReplyWe recently dined here and absolutely loved it! The food
We recently dined here and absolutely loved it! The food was amazing - creative, tasty, and just plain delightful. What really made our night, though, was how thoughtful and accommodating the staff were. My husband can't eat seafood, and the team whipped up something special that mimicked caviar perfectly. It was such a nice touch! The service was top-notch from start to finish, making us feel genuinely cared for. Everything from the ambiance to the presentation of the dishes showed a lot of care and creativity. It's rare to find a place that nails both the food and the service like this. Definitely a must-try spot. We're already looking forward to our next visit!
Be the first to ReplyAbsolutely amazing food.
Chef and sommelier were extremely nice as well. Will be coming back here. Highly recommend!

The tldr? Yes, come here, enjoy the soft wooden ambience, the lovely service, the hospitality and the range of delightful dishes Greeted with a drink to start, it was already something I'm not used to. I don't frequent fancy (or expensive) places options. They gave us a hot towel for our hands and I was about to use it on my face like on a plane. As expected on set menus, we had our dishes examined to us, these were words which flew in one ear and out the other. I didn't have a brain and it's like I'm taking a French exam at school. I recognise some words and they sound good. So smile and say merci. Dish 1: Crazy. This thing came in tickled the roof of my mouth with something cold and then the whole thing just disintegrated like it never existed. Fantastic start Dish 2: Egg but it's potato. Wild how airy they made it, I was in disblief but indeed it tasted of potato. Warm hearty and light Dish 3: Fennel soup and a cheese bread. Honestly could have just eaten cheese bread the whole night. So tasty, fantastic pairing. Well salted (and who even encounters something to say that??) Dish 4: vegetables. Honestly brought me back to reality. Not impressive, not as wowing as the start. Could have done without it Dish 5: Dear lord. caviar. A kind of scallop mousse?! With something else green. Textures went crazy. It was rich but not rich?? Creamy and lovely. Would eat this forever. Fav of the night and the sous chef! Dish 6: There were too many words I dunno what it was but it tasted ok. Sorry. Came paired with a truffle on truffle on truffle dish whose name left more to be desired as it was basically just an prep made of mushrooms to me Dish 7: Extra dish Salmon. Like when I cook salmon. There's some dry bits, some skin becomes one with the pan and it is unevenly cooked. This was the opposite of these and humbled me Dish 8: Beef short rib. Great dish, but not too wowing like the first dishes. Nothing wrong with it, tender, nonchewy meat with decent pairings. My partner got the scallop as a pescatarian substitute and that was INSANELY good Dish 9 (dessert1): My mind was a blur now but it had ice, apple and something light. Nice mix of flavours. I would not be rushing to get it again but after the main dish it was exactly what was needed. The menu was thought out well Dish 10 (dessert2): Chocolate and marshmallow on a massive plate. Fanstitc mix of flavours here. All of them sweet but still brilliant Dish 11(dessert3): steady on now a third dessert? My LDL levels need remonitoring. Nevertheless a fantastic end point. Mint chocolate was so creamy and smooth, the sesame thing made me was to eat the lint in my dryer if it tasted like that and the strawberry sweet was perfect. Really a peaks and troughs experience for this final dish. Certainly a pricey night out but I would recommend it as a great experience. Not all dishes were wow factor, some not exciting compared to other dishes, to me so I could not rate this a five. They were banging out 2pac tunes though so very nearly a 5!

Fantastic!! We entered and they gave us a welcome glass of Champagne which was a nice touch, and then took us to our table. We got the vegetarian and pescatarian menus - both were superb. 11 courses - you definitely get a lot of food, and leave full. 3 courses of dessert were amazing too! The scallop and celery root custard with caviar was the highlight for me! One for the books, will definitely be back. Perfect for date nights and special celebrations!

BEST CULINARY EXPERIENCE IN TYE BAY!!! Just go there and enjoy! Amazing people, food and vibes. What high end food should be, amazing taste, wine pairing , service and super friendly staff!!
Be the first to ReplyEvery dish was delicious.
Very unique palette, tart forward as some have said in other reviews. Was a perfect place to go for a birthday dinner for two. Romantic ambiance, great service.. I hope they get a Micheline star
Be the first to ReplyVery pretentious vibes.
Staff are sexists and only talk to the man of the table. What are we, in the prehistoric age? The food is just ok. The only dish we liked is the steak one.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food, great service, great venue.
For a relatively new restaurant, they knock it out off the park!
Be the first to ReplyThis place is fantastic across the board.
Get the wine pairing - friendly and professional staff.

Be the first to ReplyReally great dining experience.
Got two glasses of sparkling wine to start the night and the service is really good. We were seated eighth in front of the open kitchen and we are able to see the whole cooking process. The food are great and worth each cents.Really recommend this place!
Be the first to ReplyMy goal's to get this review out before we hit the one-year
My goal's to get this review out before we hit the one-year mark, so here we go. Went here back in May 2022 (ay yai yai!). At first, I wasn't sure if I was at the right location, since it looked like mainly residential homes, but turns out Anomaly had their pop-up (not sure about now) at The Mansion on Sutter, a luxury Victorian-style mansion/boutique hotel. When we entered the hotel, we were immediately greeted by staff and given a complimentary pour of sparkling wine. They offer a $111 ten-course (or maybe it was more?) tasting menu featuring seasonal ingredients (and vegetarian-friendly options) with an optional $70 wine tasting pairing. Our tasting menu back in May 2022: -Savory carrot macaron (curry)-Fluffy whipped potatoes & egg yolk-Kohlrabi soup with bacon ice -Asparagus, tarragon, fried egg-Cheesy Brazilian bread with strawberry mint shot-Salmon with lemon and sun sun choke broth ($15 extra)-Duck with saladDesserts included: -Buttermilk gelato wasabi granita and apple snow-Blueberry gummy-Whipped buttercream on shortbread-Chocolate thin mintsHonestly, loved all it all (sorry, I know, not helpful). I loved how they the dishes utilized the same ingredients but in different ways (e.g. cabbage, duck, kohlrabi), so you could really appreciate the execution. The ambiance was gorgeous and the service was excellent. Highly recommended!
Be the first to ReplyProbably one of the most creative, flavorful and tasty fine
Probably one of the most creative, flavorful and tasty fine dining experience in SF. They were a pop up restaurant up till a month ago, so I was feeling really excited! Th me restaurant is quaint, modern and high end with beautiful set up. They use real black candles and all the servers were wearing matching outfit. Interestingly the staff was all male chefs and servers. No judgement, just noted. Diverse group however and friendly staff who seemed super focused.Everything was timed perfectly to the optimal serving temperature and food was served directly by one do the chefs who seemed very passionate and sweet. I absolutely loved how harmonious every ingredients went together and wine pairing was also unusual but creative and high quality.Insane steal deal for $143/pp experience in SF. The only thing to note was the sommelier/ server who appeared to be the manager(?) was quite abrupt and didn't explain the dishes thoroughly but I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt. I initially took a star out but added back in as I have to admit, the restaurant was superb overall and didn't want one person's personality to impact the restaurant driven by so much passion and hard work from succeeding. I can see a Michelin coming their way in the near future as they keep up and keep the hunger and passion of the beginning days as pop up. Parking is a bit of a nightmare. I recommend ride share app. We
Be the first to ReplyAbsolutely fantastic dinner at Anomaly's first permanent
Absolutely fantastic dinner at Anomaly's first permanent space, not only the best dining experience of the past year, but also in our top 5 of all time. Chef presents Post Modern cuisine, with twists and surprises in every course, served in a new modern setting. What made this meal so special is the food was absolutely delicious, savory and very nuanced. it was creative without sacrificing flavor, with small and wonderful surprises in every course. It was beautifully plated , but not overly fussy or served cold. And, finally, everything was added with intention, no ingredients were on the plate that did not enhance the most important thing, which is flavor. So good that instead of struggling to find one memorable course, we struggled to find one that was not memorable. We finally landed on the Delacata Squash Royale and Sea Urchin as our favorite (excluding the great entree and desserts). Served with a crisp cover "lid" and a dollop of sea urchin, you break it open to reveal a silky steaming hot egg custard. Mixing the sea urchin umami with the sweet squash and crispy lid would have benn enough, but chef added little asian pears at the bottom as another textural and flavor surprise. All of which played beautifully together, each bite a little different as you worked your way down. So much fun and whimsical to eat, but meticulously prepared in front of you. A transformative meal, one which we have not experienced in many years, this Anomaly is a definite must for anyone who loves exciting, delicious and innovative food.

After touring the city as a pop-up, Anomaly SF finally has a permanent home--and it's absolutely stunning! Every dish seamlessly combines complex flavors with fun textures, like the egg with shiso potato foam or hot romanesco soup with lemon dry ice "snow". The drink pairing is an eclectic mix of wines, cider and sake. Also, the interior is intimate and chic, making the ambiance perfect for a date night! Congratulations to the Anomaly team!!
Be the first to ReplyI'm so glad I chose to come to anomaly! Honestly pretty
I'm so glad I chose to come to anomaly! Honestly pretty surprised the restaurant does not have a Michelin star yet - predicting that it will gain a star very soon. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, with a spacious lobby and a cozy interior seating area with around 6 tables. The experience felt super personal given that there weren't that many tables in the room. The courses were so delicious and creative, with beautiful plating and innovative ingredients. I lost track of how many courses were served but I was definitely full after the meal! Throughout each course, a different chef comes up the our table to serve us and explain the ingredients within the dish.Don't miss out on anomaly before it really blows up and gains a Michelin star!
