A high bar, and just didn’t reach it, but still very good
Sunday brunch buffet review; Whilst I rated everything 4/5, that’s simply because the bar was set so high with a $99 cost. If this was $65 it was 5/5 all the way. What you should know about this buffet is it’s not one with 10 cooking stations that takes you 15 minutes to walk-around. Instead, think of this as an AYCE special for the 5 best entrees at a very good restaurant; Crab legs & claws, Beef Wellington, Prime Rib, Lamb Chops & of course Lobster tails. The crab legs and lobster tails were not buffet quality, they were high end restaurant quality. The lamb was very good, but I found both the prime rib and beef wellington a little under whelming. There’s more than enough accompanying dishes to ‘balance’ your protein intake, but honestly why bother when you could just get an extra set of crab legs. Service was good, my $14 cocktail was excellent and certainly contained a good pour. Overall, I’d probably give it a 18/20.

Today, Saturday January 20th, 2024, my wife and I were celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary. My wife had heard that Anthony’s steak house at the M resort had great reviews. So, a few weeks back I made dinner reservations for two at 6pm. Two days prior to our dinner, I confirmed our reservation. I also sent them an email explaining it was our 35th wedding anniversary and I was confirming the reservation. Tonight, when we arrive I checked in with the hostess and explained we had reservations for dinner. She asked if we could stand off to the side and wait as she was getting our table ready. She came back about 10 minutes later and asked us to follow her. She attempted to sit us at the exit door near the lobby in between two pillars. I explained that this was our 35th wedding anniversary and wanted to be seated in the restaurant. Another hostess came up and said she had a booth in the bar however the guess were just about finished and she would seat us when they leave. I asked don’t they have our reservations we wanted to be seated in the restaurant which I made reservations for. She explained that the people were getting ready to pay their bill and she would seat us in the bar. My wife and I quietly stood by. The hostess had us stand at the front entrance while other guest came in and were seat one after another. A couple without reservations came in and walked up to the counter the manager came out shook the man’s hand and he escorted them into the restaurant to be seated them. I asked the hostess I need to speak with the manager. He came back up front. I explained we had reservation and confirmed the date and time. I asked why was this couple treated differently than us. He looked surprised and said “Oh I thought you wanted to be seated in the bar.” He spoke to the hostess and she asked us to wait a while until they could get us a table in the restaurant. Normally, by now I would have left this restaurant but we had show tickets following dinner. Finally the hostess came back and said they had a table for us. As I walked through the restaurant I saw they had many open tables, so I was confused why this took so long. Once we were seated the waiter walked up to the table. He did not greet us nor did seem to be glad that we were patronizing this restaurant. Normally, our bill runs between 200 -300 depending on wine service and entree. We normally leave more than 20% tip because both my wife and I have worked in these professions so we know how important tipping is. During the course of our meal, I may have seen the waiter three times to include when he brought me the bill. The person that served us our meal did not speak to us and sat our dishes down and walked away without saying a word. He actually gave my entrée to my wife and we had to swap plates. As for the food. My wife had the halibut when it came out it was dry and over cooked. It appeared to have been sitting in the heat window for some time before service. I called another waiter over to our table and asked if he could get our waiter. I explain the issue with the halibut dinner. He looked at the plate and said “Oh, no I will fix this.” He recognizes the problem right away. After he took the plate back to the kitchen our waiter then comes to the table and ask “was there a problem with the halibut.” I again explained the issue. He said “Oh, this time of year our halibut is no good, it doesn’t come from Alaska it’s smaller and it comes from California.” That was news to me because I am a fisherman and I’m in Alaska fishing every year. So, to end this review. When you pay high dollar prices at a restaurant you are not just paying for the food. You are paying to be greeted and the atmosphere the restaurant creates. If this was a holiday weekend. The restaurant was slammed busy, I could recognize this however the customer service was beyond terrible. This could have been a off night for these employees who knows but words and comments travel far and when you start to loose customers because of the lack of appreciation to your customers your business will suffer. Thank you for reading this review.
Be the first to ReplyOur steak was way overcooked
Our server was very good and our food came out in a timely manner. We started with the French Onion Soup and Wedge Salad. Both were very good. My husband and I spilt the filet. We ordered it medium rare. The steak was cut in half which was nice. Unfortunately it was medium well. You would think if the chef was cutting the steak then the chef would realize the steak was way overcooked. For the price of the steak this was terrible. We got fries with the steak and they were good. I expect an expensive steakhouse to know how to properly cook a steak.
Be the first to ReplyWhat a rip off
I ordered the 98.00 filet worst piece of meat I ever ate service was terrible I don't recommend this place. French onion soup was great. An so was the shrimp cocktail
Be the first to ReplyAmazing buffet that beats The Strip!
We were one of the lucky ones to get a reservation at this iconic reservation! The Sunday brunch is a M U S T... we may have spent a little over $200 for two, but it was totally worth it. Service was 10/10, ambiance 9/10, and food 10/10! This buffet was unlike your normal buffet on the strip where they overwhelm you with too many options, but Anthony's chooses "quality over quantity." They had your normal breakfast delights, but I didn't waste any belly space and went straight to the lunch options of scalloped potatoes, greens, and 5 lobster tails. The lobster tail tray was getting switched out for a new and fresh batch every 5 minutes. I'm a lobster lover, and the fact that there was no limit on how many I could eat, was worth swelling up for! 😋 Other than that, the carving station didn't just have prime rib, but had a whole rack of lamb and beef wellington to choose from. All the meats were mouth watering and flavorful! The bagel tree was super cute, parfaits were delicious and the dessert table was displayed with tiny bites of chocolate, cheesecake cakes, cakes, and fruit tarts. We already made our second reservation which is in a couple of months now (the next availability), but I would definitely recommend Anthony's!! Happy Eats ✌️
Be the first to Replyanother excellent meal
Our guests loved their rib-eye and my husband liked his NY Strip Steak so much that he said that, from now on, he'll order that instead of the Filet Mignon he normally gets. Service was, as always, stellar. Except when the Busperson took my Soup which I was still eating.
Be the first to ReplyGreat Seafood but just OK Steak
We took friends here who were visiting from out of state. I read the previous reviews before booking the reservation and after noting that the steak reviews varied from positive to negative, I decided to just order seafood. We had crab cakes and Calamari appetizers, and both were the best we had ever had. My wife ordered Salamon for a main course, my friend's wife ordered the Sea Bass, and I ordered the Scallops. The three of us thought our meals were excellent and for my part, I found the 6 large scallops and the sauce was the best that I had ever had anywhere. My friend, however, ordered an Angus steak, trying to be polite and not order the expensive large prime cut, and his steak was overcooked and a little tough. Something I noticed in other reviews. Although my wife and I don't frequent expensive restaurants, we both decided we would come back and get the crab cake appetizer and a seafood dish and she would again order coffee after the meal since she thought it was the best coffee she had ever had!
Be the first to ReplyMedium rare filet mignon was raw
Since my Nov 2015 3-star review of Anthony's, we've had several dinners here and they have all been better than that meal. The last three times we've eaten here, my Casino Host has comped $100 or $150 towards dinner.
We had a 5:15 dinner reservation on Christmas day. We were greeted and seated promptly and politely. Maria introduced herself; then Floren introduced himself. Floren is a very good waiter but (1) at one point, my husband emptied his water glass and it remained empty for several minutes before someone finally noticed and refilled it; and (2) my husband said to me "This steak is cold." That surprised me because we both ordered the 9 oz Black Angus Filet Mignon to be cooked medium rare; my steak wasn't cold. It wasn't hot but it shouldn't be as meat should rest after coming off of the grill. Once he ate a few bites, he got to the center of the steak which was rare. A huge streak of rare, not medium rare, meat. By the time Floren finally returned to our table, we had eaten our potatoes and I had eaten as much of my steak that I could. He took one look at Hubby's steak and said, "That's rare! I am so sorry." He offered repeatedly to take it back; said it'd only take him two minutes to get it cooked to the desired state but we were nearly done eating so my husband declined sending the steak back. Had Floren come to the table sooner, Hubby would have sent back the steak.
We ate here a few months ago and my salmon wasn't cooked as well as I would have liked. We had a different waiter that night. He also did not check on us until we were almost done eating, so I didn't send my salmon back. Nor did I eat much of it. Wait staff need to check on their guests after they've had a couple minutes to dig into the food to see if it's prepared as requested.
Floren was very apologetic and made up for it by comping us a dessert (he offered two but we wanted to share the beignets) and by having his boss remove $30 from the check. (Check was $150 comp + $35 from our Rewards Dollars + $30 from the Manager as an apology for the under-cooked steak + $40 cash tip + free dessert.)
My French Onion Soup was very good. My husband enjoyed his traditional Ceasar Salad. The baked potatoes were awesome. I always grab the one raisin roll in the bread basket and, last night, the butter was soft enough to spread it easily onto the bread. My steak was very good. The sauteed mushrooms were fine; will be putting them into an omelet tomorrow along with the leftover steak.
We've eaten enough meals here in the past few years that I think it's reasonable to give service 3.5 stars, food 4 stars.
Fantastic!! My new favorite restaurant in Las Vegas!
I won a free trip to Vegas curtesy of Hollywood Casino in Columbus, OH; we just retuned yesterday 4/28/21. I had made reservations for my best friend and me for Tuesday at 6pm. Of course with all the fun we were having I needed to call and ask for a 6:30 time change; it was no problem. When we arrived we were seated promptly. The service was great and the atmosphere was phenomenal! We ordered the crab cakes as an appetizer. I grew up on the East coast and these tasted as though I was back in Maryland. I had the bone-in ribeye and it was excellent. My friend had the Oscar filet and she said it was great as was her lemon-drop martini! The desserts were very good also. We ordered the vanilla crepe brûlée and the chocolate praline hazelnut cake, amazing! I would recommend the restaurant and can’t wait to return. This was a great overall experience.
Be the first to ReplyUpscale Steakhouse with Good Wines
The M Resort has a few restaurant options at various price and sophistication levels and Anthony's is clearly their top offering. Prices are high which isn't surprising and clearly disclosed on the video menu outside. We were able to get a reservation without difficulty despite many of the other restaurants being closed during our visit. The wine list was extensive and featured some interesting bottles. Wine markups were fairly standard for Vegas. We ordered a specific varietal and vintage only to be brought out a bottle from a year later. This was quickly corrected as our waiter went back to find the correct vintage listed on the menu. Our biggest challenge during this experience was our waiter Dave. He was nice enough but "cracked wise" throughout our dining experience in an effort to be friendly but it just fell flat with our group. He disappeared for a time and we were unable to get our food order in time before their prime rib ran out for the evening. (The prime rib is literally the reason we came to this place. ) What we did end up ordering came out perfectly put together and everyone commented on the quality of each dish. The ambiance is what you would expect at any upscale steakhouse and was very pleasant.
Be the first to ReplyWell worth the money!
We were extremely impressed with everything about the restaurant-the food, the wine selection, the service and the ambience! We highly recommend the prime rib and the mashed potatoes.
Be the first to ReplyVery Good. Business Casual
I had dinner here on 07/09/2020. I ordered the small Filet with shrimp ($61.00). I also had a glass of wine with dinner. The steak came a bit too rare for me so I sent it back and it returned just perfect. Very tender and looked great. The shrimp were fine; nothing remarkable. Overall, the total was $75.86 including tax but not including tip. I would recommend Anthony's. Service was great. Plenty of seating. Attentive and courteous personnel. I will return.
Be the first to ReplyA very classy dining experience.
A very classy dining experience. Impress that lady!
Our waiter was Dave. Great conversationalist and perfect customer service. Entire staff pitches in if you need a drink or anything so you’re now wondering where your waiter went. Try that filet.
Incredible food and selections
We loved the wide seats and elegant atmosphere. The food was quite expensive, but for a high-end restaurant, we were given many steak, seafood options and side dish options. Our filet mignon, aged beef, and bison were cooked to melt in your mouth perfection. We were also impressed by the portion sizes, which were much larger than most high end restaurants.
Try the "sharable" side dishes like roasted cauliflower and their special lobster bisque.
nice steaks and seafood
We had a visited Anthony's looking for a good steakhouse away from the strip. There were a couple of glitches in the meal. One of our entrees had an issue and needed to be remade and the overall pacing was off, but the chef himself came out to offer his apologies and comped us a dessert in addition to taking the problematic entrée off the bill. This occurred despite the fact that no one in our party complained. I work in the industry and I know that we are all human and mistakes happen. It's what you do about it that really defines operations and determines success. On that measure, Anthony's wins.
Be the first to ReplyAlways perfect
We had another amazing evening at Anthony’s, service was impeccable ambience always warm and chick, started with escargot and fresh crab legs, divine, shared the wedge salad and it was perfect, I opt for the bone in prime filet and it was cooked to perfection with great flavor, my wife had the bone in ribeye with a side of fries she love it as well kids shared some Mac and cheese and the were happy, we end our meal with a fruit cake and some ice cream, I loved my pistachio. Frank ( classy as usual) stopped by and welcome us back.
Start with the LP Champagne and will never go wrong.
Thank you again.
Bring your wallet
Usually you get what you pay for and this is that. Everything was just great with no complaints at all. Everything was top notch. We both had the their best steaks cooked to perfection. The wine was matched perfectly. Bravo. It was worth every penny.
