Very cool setting that feels like you are in an old mob
Very cool setting that feels like you are in an old mob movie. The live singers are great and the food is very good as well. Keep in mind this place is very loud with people having loud and fun conversations and with the live music. Such a fun place to go out.

The food is amazing, if you simply can't afford it, then don't go. It's definitely not overpriced. Overpriced is when it's expensive and appalling. This is not revolting. Order what you LIKE, for those who are ordering what they don't like, obviously it'll be ghastly to you because you're mindless. People are very nice, food takes me away every damn time. The stuff artichoke alone, was mouth watering. When Jesus comes back, this is where I will be taking him. Even in heaven, I will rave about this place.

Was brought here for my birthday dinner with the family as a surprise. I'm new to Florida and have generally been underwhelmed by the service culture out here but this place completely went against that notion. Very friendly and gracious hospitality from start to finish. I have two little nieces and the managers and wait staff were so sweet to them. This place definitely has the upscale vibe and decor, such an enjoyable setting with attention to the details. The food is fantastic and comes in generous portions. I loved the sword fish and recommend getting a few sides to share with the table! My favorite was the green beans with prosciutto. Will definitely be back and reservations are a must!
Be the first to ReplyJoey waited on us and was a terrific waiter.
The food was wonderful and the service was exceptional.
Be the first to ReplyI thought the food was excellent but I was a little
I thought the food was excellent but I was a little dismayed by the size of the portions- brontosaurus size chicken parm and all the rest. It was never mentioned by the waitress that the food is served family sized portions. As a result we each paid $42 for just the cutlets with nothing with them as a side! One person ordered a pasta dish for $30 dollars that was also enough for 3-4 people. Our bill , needless to say, was very expensive. Had we known the size of the portions we could have cut our bill in half. This is a very noisy restaurant and almost impossible to hear ourselves talk. I will return as the food is great but now we know how to order

I had to come home straight away and write this 5 star review. Wooooow! What an amazing dining experience. Easily the best Italian restaurant I have ever been to, and in the top three overall restaurants for food, service, ambiance, and overall experience. This place is a vibe in the best way possible. If you are looking for a nice quiet romantic dinner spot this is not it. The place is loud but in the best way possible. The live band was beyond good. Great song selections and awesome musicianship. The service was outstanding Christopher D. was our server he was very patient with me as it was my first time and had a few questions, but he had all the answers and made great recommendations. Christopher is a stellar server. Now for the food I originally decided to go to this establishment because of the table side Caesar Salad. My wife loves Caesar Salad and I been wanting to have her experience it table-side. Let me say they did not disappoint the least bit. The salad was perfectly prepared not too much dressing not too little. The leaves were crispy and the taste was spot on. We literally ate the entire salad which is a generous portion. For our entrees I had the MAFALDINE 'CACIO E PEPE' with shaved black truffles. Literally the best pasta I have every had. Everything about this pasta was right. My wife had the snapper with francese sauce. The fish was so light flaky and tender. The francese sauce was just plain old good. I have had this sauce twice before but they just know what they are doing. Overall I enjoyed this place and will be back soon this is our new spot. Shaved Black Truffles

Anthony is runway is not what it used to be and I've been there in a few years. There about four months ago. The venues have changed the decor has changed and the cost is extremely expensive would not recommend it again.
Be the first to ReplyGreat service and great food.
Our waiter was Joey he was excellent! Definitely recommend him/ the service here.
Be the first to ReplyI'm super happy that the Runway is back & taking us on new
I'm super happy that the Runway is back & taking us on new heights! I am in aweeeeeee of what they have done to this place! The scene takes you into a scene of a Sopranos episode. You will for sure run into a made man or two & their consigliere while you are here. Haha. Anywho make sure to make reservations or if you plan to join for happy hour do get there early! The bar fills up pretty quickly any day of the week! Bartenders are such a delight to engage with, it's almost like you are sitting with La Famiglia. The tone is set by having live music that starts around 7pm & it just transports you into the whole vibe. I had the pleasure of being recommended to order the Chicken "Vodka" Parmigiana and it was deliciously massive. But you don't hear me complaining lol. Every bite was a guilty pleasure. Mmmmm the taste of being calorically naughty! What can I say, I'm a Rebel! To sum it up this restaurant has done a phenomenal job at keeping up appearances while rebranding. It all comes together nicely. If you're thinking about missing a night here " faget abouht it"! Lol This restaurant is #BarbieApproved
Be the first to ReplyFabulous dinner.
.. Excellent service (Massimo was great). Superb taste, bread, cocktails, etc. Large portions, priced very reasonably for sharing(one chicken parm is enough for 4 people)! Great entertainment live band- sounds like Michael buble! Will definitely return.
Be the first to ReplyDoes not honor reservations, and rude front desk personnel.
I was told we were late 15 minutes and when I stated that was incorrect, front desk smart mouth guy said "sorry you were late 13 minutes!" so we (family of 5) ended up waiting 45 minutes to be seated. Food was mediocre at best. If the reception desk person was polite would not have spent time to give this bad review.

Bruno was our waiter and made us feel right at home. Will definitely be back in the near future. Bring an appetite!
Be the first to ReplyOK Anyone who knows me, understands that I am not a fan of
OK Anyone who knows me, understands that I am not a fan of the "ORIGINAL RUNWAY' for a variety of reasons. With a multi-million-dollar upgrade in the books, a complete remodel and concept and multitudes of friends and families telling me to give it a try we set out with an 8:30PM reservation in hand for a birthday celebration. Valet parking is still the norm and as you walk in you realize this place is not the same "Runway". The outside patio is now enclosed off to the left of the entrance as you walk in. The Bar has been moved to the dead center to off to the left and upgraded to style. The main dining room is adorned with outside comfortable booth seating while round tables take up the center. A stage is set up for entertainment as well. & there is a private dining room in the back which must be the Dan Marino room as it is adorned in his memorabilia. (more on this later)I check in and we are a bit early and it is not as busy as I expected which could be attributed to Spring break here for Florida students, but after a drink at the bar we are seated timely which was one of my biggest pet peeves of the old setup waiting an hour or more even with a reservation which was not the case last evening. The Menu has changed slightly, gone are the complimentary mussels with each entre. John, our waiter tonight was absolutely SPOT ON with everything. After going over the specials of the night as well as menu items that are most popular settle in order some more drinks and wine and we are off and running. I will note menu prices are not out of line in today's crazy world and though many bottles of wine were ridiculously overpriced, there are some good values there as well. Fresh hot bread and homemade focaccia were presented, and it was excellent. We start with a Tableside Caesar salad which simply isn't done any more. Options of Anchovies are given, and fresh croutons surround this really top shelf presentation $16.00Anthony's chopped antipasto platter was a chopped-up version of their old platter with lettuce and vegetables in a homemade vinaigrette of some sort. Also, TOP SHELF $16.00The special appetizer of the night was JUMBO shrimp at $15.00 per piece supposed to be in a garlic white wine lemon sauce but it really was a grilled shrimp done quickly and some sauce was dropped on top. Really very disappointing. Of all the things tonight, this was my least favorite. Entrees: A half-baked chicken on the bone with sauteed mushrooms, peppers, onions and potatoes was OK as I found the chicken dry while the accompaniments were excellent. A linguine with white clam sauce was plentiful, with a huge number of clams with substantial broth. I was told it was very good. A house special Chicken Rosa was a rolled and stuffed pillow of chicken with spinach, prosciutto and mozzarella in a brown mushroom sauce. The chicken was tender as butter but a little dry. Entirely too much spinach and nowhere near enough sauce to compliment the dish. The best thing I tried was the Spicy Rigatoni in vodka sauce. OUTSTANDING in all aspects, and I'm picky on this dish. The homemade Ricotta cheesecake was light fluffy and fantastic reminding me of my long-departed grandmothers, while the GIANT piece of layered chocolate cake was sinful. No coffee tonight. The Lounge band was fabulous as they started their 1st set at 8:30Pm with dinner Sinatra type music. Their second set just after 10PM went up tempo to rock, and everything in between. They were great and really give the place a tremendous vibe. Anthony the owner stopped by to say hello and check on things as well as his GM and anyone else of importance, as they seem to want feedback on everything which is impressive and appreciated. Oh, back to the Marino room, I look over and there he is LOL Dan the man himself. He was kind enough to stop at the table as he walked by and even took a photo with the birthday girl and our group a real CLASS ACT! So let me sum it up as I've gone on long enough. VIBE - DÉCOR - Music and all that encompasses a 10 Plus!Service - Management and all that entails also a 10 Plus.Food mind you I am as picky and difficult to impress as they come so I still give the overall food a 7. Yes, it is loud, you definitely want to eat in the dining room not the patio to experience the vibe, but in this day and age of highly overpriced boring places for dinner this separates itself from the rest and will go a long way down here! Bravo guys 4.5 stars.

We had such difficulties in making or even changing the reservation that after two days I gave up. Who operates a restaurant that refuses to answer a phone. Even if this place has good food it seems totally disorganized.

5 Was possible, thats what I would give Runway 84. The positive aspects of our dining experience include: the beautiful remake of the original restaurant, bar and patio dining area. As soon as you step into what looks nothing like the original Runway, you feel as though you have entered into an upscale NYC Italian restaurant. The lighting is ambient, the decor is warm and comfortable, and wall decor is both nostalgic and tasteful. What hasnt changed are the fabulous menu, the energetic and enthusiastic vibe, and the almost deafening noise level. That last note is what will take me to the aspects of Runway that will prevent me from returning. There were six of us in our party---all foodies. We were seated at a round table toward the back of the restaurant which we actually appreciated as after the dizzyingly loud canned music ended, an amped-up band on the opposite side of the restaurant took over. We found ourselves shouting at each other in an effort to hold a conversation. Two days later, my throat was still sore. Included in our veteran servers list of specials was a 1.5 liter of Faust. Our server assured us that this was the way to go as we would get 6-8 glasses of wine from 1.5 liter as opposed to that of a regular-size bottle of wine. That part might be true but when we looked at the wine menu and noted that while the liter "deal?" cost $285/bottle and the regular size bottle of Faust cost $95, we decided that we would not go the route of the "special." Instead each couple decided to order their own regular size bottle of wine. When the server returned to take our wine order and found we were not going to order the $285 bottle of Faust, he rolled his eyes as if in disgust. One among us has an allergic reaction to fresh garlic, so he inquired if any entrees came without that ingredient. Our servers sarcasm laced response was, "This is Italian Restaurant!" Due to the proximity of our table and the banquette behind two in our party, whenever a server passed between table and banquette, our companions had to lean-in so to avoid being bumped. Not a good thing when paying these prices.Early in the evening we told our server that we would like to have separate checks--a common and acceptable practice in south Florida. He said that he was not supposed to do that, but said he would anyway. Thank you! When the bill came, the pasta was on the wrong bill and our Caesar salad was on someone elses bill. When we mentioned this to the server who brought the owner into the conversation, we were told that we should just give the difference in cash to each other. I can't complain about the food as my meal (quite memorable) was absolutely delicious and more than ample and the atmosphere was beautiful.

The NEW Runway 84! Our first time back since the renovation/reopen and it was for my birthday on a Friday evening. It was hard to get reservations but we snagged one by using the notify feature on resy. Basically, all yelp-ers should know that this is really a brand new restaurant. If you go in thinking youre going to get the same Runway 84 as before, you will be highly disappointed. Go in with an open mind! We were seated at a two person table by the bar , right on the end of the dining room. It was a nice place to sit because you could people watch but also had calmness from the main dining room. YES it is loud - but it has always been loud! If you want a quiet place to enjoy a meal, this is not the place for you. Our server was great and attentive. French 75 cocktail was delicious and made just the way i like it. My husband loved his old fashion with angels envy. There's no more free salad and mussels. The bread is the same but they also added the most delicious pizza style bread to the bread basket! We started with the cold antipasta for two and it was HUGE. The stuffed peppers were out of this world and YUM the fresh mozzarella. For my meal I had the spicy rigatoni vodka. Our server told me that it wasnt spicy but man was he wrong. It was SO good and i really wanted to eat it but it was just too spicy for me. The flavors were AMAZING so my husband swapped meals with me. He LOVED it. The vodka chicken that my husband got was the best meal i've had out in a really long time. WOW. We've never had anything like it. Perfectly cut chicken, breaded with vodka sauce, cheese and crunchy prosciutto. Out of this world!! we finished the night with a birthday cannoli , yum yum yum!Decor has totally changed, no more airplane vibe. Now it is a supper club style , very chic. We did noticed the patio seating is VERY loud from the cars going by but by adding this space it did open the restaurant up style and flow wise!
Be the first to ReplyFood was great.
Service was ok. Not the best for a high end place. The music and the live band were blasting out of the speakers. Good luck having a conversation at your own table. The new renovations are super nice.

The food and service were top notch! From the moment we arrived, our friendly Hostess, Ashley, set the mood for a 5-star evening. Once we were seated, our server, John, was helpful with menu selections and suggestions. From antipasto to pasta to veal to a fabulous chocolate cake to an after dinner martini...all superb!

Everything and I mean everything is good here! The twice baked potato melts in your mouth, the artichoke is perfectly breadcrumbed, the salad crispy and fresh and the vodka pasta is 10/10. Make sure to book reservations or you won't get sat, there's not a day this place isn't busy or booked up. Our server Matt was fantastic! So friendly and funny! Make sure to request him if you go! Overall this is one of my favorite restaurants in Fort Lauderdale and I will be a frequent visitor!
Be the first to ReplyAfter over 25 yrs we wont be back.
Not impressed. Not a fan of remodel. Lost the airplane! Lost the mussels, lost the salad and friendly atmosphere We had reservations and put out on new patio. NOISY TO THE MAX. My apple watch went off for noise level. Could not even hear our waiter or our ceasar salad tosser. Music so loud, traffic from 84 is ever present at utmost. Any thing you ask they say no. Please turn down music can we get a inside table. Nope. Food and our waiter Bruno were very good.PS. NO SHORTS!

Was so excited to go to the new Runway 84!!! Went with great friends, a group of 8. Got there a few minutes early and went the the bar for a drink. I never mind paying for great food and drinks, but this was a bit steep!!! 22.00 for a martini and a tip. it came to 26.00dollars for one drink!!We were seated on time outside/inside. The music was so loud that you couldnt speak to anyone at the table without screaming!!Felt like we were on a raceway too. Cars were zooming by!!Ordered some appetizers, one being baked clams. The clams had sand in them. Werent cleaned probably. I would have sent it back but was too many people.Ordered the Caesar salad table side. The guy cane over and said he couldnt get the table down the aisle so he did it at the end of the restaurant where we were not able to see.Must say service was great. Keep getting water filled and took our order in a timely fashion. Food was very good. My husband had swordfish- he said best he ever had and I had chicken parm, also very good. Everything is al la carte so pasta was extra. Too too loud for a nice dining experience.

Be the first to ReplyThis was the first time I was back since the renovation.
I sat at the bar. The food was incredible. Great suggestion were made by Frankie. My only complaint was the wait staff was overly attentive which normally would be a positive but I felt uncomfortable.
