To long, to much small dishes, something not eatable
nice but to quiet, feels like everybody can hear how you breathe, The set of food - for me it is was too manny small dishes and to long ,like 3 hours you have to be there its too much , we were with 6 y.o , he just fall a sleep in the end . The dishes are 6/10 and for sure overpriced , one of the dish -the duck was at all not eatable . So it was not bad , maybe for a company of friends

I was very excited to experience AOC when visiting Copenhagen in August. Everything from restaurant decor to service and of course food was 11/10. I opted for the wine match which was one of the best wine matches I've ever had. The food was amazing. Even my mint tea served at the end of the meal was so wonderful. This is definitely worth saving up for and treating yourself. The staff were all so friendly, could not fault the service whatsoever!

If you like, creative and incredibly good food at a big price, this is a great choice. The service and the atmosphere are also at the top of the game. Price fix menu each of the 17 small courses were fantastic. The wine pairing which I split with my wife was also great. This restaurant lives up to its rating from Michelin.

Eighteen courses. Sixteen were excellent. One (the quail) was slightly over salted. One (the chanterelle) was extremely over salted. I felt like someone was trying to sabotage one Michelin Star off of them. I also had the non-alcoholic pairings. Four were excellent concoctions. Three were just downright weird. For two Michelin stars, and for this price point, I had really expected a flawless execution. ( I uploaded 9 photos. How many, if any, did TravelAdvisor let through???)

A wonderful evening. The service is great and very welcoming. Silas makes you feel at home. The chef is a virtuoso. A must do in Copenhagen. An evening with the family that will not be forgotten. Bringing great memories back to Brazil. Thank you for a great evening.
Be the first to ReplyHorrible customer service! The restaurant took a guarantee fee, however did not return it upon cancellation.
On January 10, we’ve made online reservations for 2 at the AOC restaurant. We payed the 1000dkk per person, as a guarantee and received a confirmation. Unfortunately, we had a change of plans and had to cancel our reservation. Because of the policy, we could do that and receive a full refund (we still had few months before the event). We sent a request to the restaurant and the team sent us a confirmation of the cancellation and informed us that we will receive the refund. We waited… after two weeks, no refund came… We contacted the restaurant team and after checking they informed us that because of the credit card policy the refund will be given only after 1 month. We waited… after one month, no refund came… We tried to contact the restaurant, but now they were ignoring us and not even responding. We contacted the credit company, who tried to contact the restaurant, but no response… Now it is May, still no response from the restaurant and no refund on the credit card… Horrible experience, will never consider going there.

What a special night. We have eaten at quite a few ‘starred’ restaurants, and this was quite exceptional. The food was outstanding - some innovative dishes, interesting combinations, and beautiful presentation. The service was faultless - from the lovely (Italian) Maitre to the friendly and professional waiting staff. It was particularly appreciated not only to be able to see directly into the kitchen (which was remarkably calm!), but also to have the chefs come to the table to explain each dish to us. The restaurant itself is spacious and airy (despite being in a cellar) but intimate, and the positioning of us as a couple at one side of the table rather than opposite each other was a lovely touch. You felt like you were having a culinary experience together. A particular highlight for me was the Langoustine in a ponzu beurre blanc, which may have been the best thing I’d ever eaten, but each course was a delight and the journey from the first bite to last was just exceptional - and one I won’t forget for a long time. Some meals are eaten, and others make memories - this was one of the latter. I wouldn’t be surprised if a third star was around the corner for AOC. Bravi tutti.
Be the first to ReplyGreat night, fantastic seafood and preparations!
Had a wonderful evening at AOC as the heavily seafood-focused menu (with exception to quail) was right up our alley. Amazing from start to finish and matching wines were a treat as well. Can't wait to go back!
Be the first to ReplyArrogant, confused flavors, mediocre service
Yes, 1/5 points. Why? Because this places is supposed to have two Michelin starts. Let me start by stating that the food was mostly not good – not to mention the price point. Like other travelers, I have flown around the world and enjoyed food at some of the most incredible places. AOC is overrated and, even worse, a simply bad experience. What really did me in was the sommelier resting his hand on the opening of the wine bottle he would pour for me. Sorry, but I cannot imagine your gross little hands adding any flavor to the wine. How can this be even acceptable? The food was hit or miss, yet mostly miss, unfortunately. A handful of items (pine cones, onion soup) were delicious. The rest either boring, hard to eat or merely confused. Avoid this place at all cost.
Be the first to ReplyThe unfortunate case of “Michelin stars blurred our vision”
This place showed so much potential… But if there is anything I am allergic to, it is the snobbish attitude of the front of the house in some of the places that have probably one too many accolades. It’s unfortunate, really, because I have seen cases that prove that you can be exceptional AND create an experience that comes from the heart, rather than the one that is overburdened with arrogance and pride. Anyhow, some of the items on the menu at AOC were delicious and surprising. For instance, I was at first skeptical about their take on the French onion soup - served in an actual onion - but was proven wrong as it was delightful. Their mackerel with kohlrabi & pumpkin juice was so fresh. Some of the other dishes were comme ci comme ca and had a tendency to fall apart on the plate or in the hands ... And at the end of the day, the dessert menu turned out to be the highlight of the evening: green strawberry with elderflower, Nordic vanilla and especially the pickled pine cones were to come back for. However, regardless of how good parts of the menu were, the whole experience just failed to come together as the good bits were overshadowed by the attitude of an extremely arrogant server who lacked training on some of the basics of hospitality. All in all, I think this place 1/ has become too comfortable resting on the Michelin laurels and has opportunity to rethink some aspects of its menu, 2/ urgently needs to revamp the front of the house training programs.

My wife and I have traveled the world to dine at more than 40 different Michelin 2-starred restaurants and AOC was unequivocally the the most disappointing dinner that we’ve had the misfortune of experiencing. Long story short - you won’t find any dishes with a wow factor, neither taste nor presentation (a sliver of root vegetable presented to look like a vanilla pod that tastes like licorice, really? So what?). Couple this with a condescending waiter who makes the occasional, snarky comment. We had really high hopes and to be fair, the desserts were much more substantive than the warm dishes but all in all, save yourself from going here as DKK 2.8k/pp is much better spent elsewhere.
Be the first to ReplyBest taste experience ever!
We have visited several restaurants with michelin stars in Norway and France, but this one topped all of them when it comes to the taste experience of the food. It was fantastic! Highly recommended.

My god, what a place! Staff is the most nice and friendly ever. From the seaters, waiters and chefs. Such a pleasure to spend an evening (6 hours) with them. We had their tasting menu and it was just in every corner with flavors and texture and constantly challenging your mind. Wine menu was just perfect on top. I asked one of the waiter for a specific Avec - but unfortunately they did not have this on the menu. Fair enough... 15min later the waiter showed up with a bottle of the Avec! What an overwhelming service to go out and buy this for just 2 stupid guests. AOC can be proud of their Staff and how much they care for their guests. The only thing I cant say is a bit negative is the Acoustics in the restaurant - but this is due to the old building and it would be sad to renew it, so this is something that would not stop be from going again. Please go and enjoy an evening with Silas and the Crew!
Be the first to ReplyOne of the best meals in years
We have been thinking of visiting A.O.C. for many years now and finally the time had come to do so. I don't know how to describe the experience, but everything was just perfekt. Take a look at the pictures and you might agree with us. The food, the wine pairing and the service was spot on. Thank you ... hope to see you soon again :-)
Be the first to ReplyFantastic take away
It is hard to enter the wonderful world of A.O.C. take away, but when you finally are among the chosen few, you are in for a treat. A normal "stenbiderrogn" dish with salmon, a great Beef Wellington and a really nice lemon tart with coffee ice cream. Everything was to die for. Thank you A.O.C., you made our Friday evening unforgettable.

I was very exited about our visit and it truly fulfilled my expectations.
Inovative cooking, amazing ingredients, knowing staff, great wines, sober interior. Close to perfection.
