Just average
Nothing special at this restaurant. Fish was over cooked. Fried chicken was heavy and salty. Wine selection as decent but quite frankly overpriced. Service was friendly and good. But won’t be going back

We had brunch at the Brentwood restaurant. It has been renovated and looked terrific. We had an excellent waitress and an excellent brunch. One of their specialties is a very yummy sticky bun which you can have with bacon. This is not a low calorie establishment, but really delicious food.

Dinner for 3 adults and 1 child. Appetizer of focaccia, mustard greens, pistachios. Very tasty. Three entrée orders diver scallops, hangar steak, and duck breast. Dessert platter. Nice ambiance with lighting. Attentive service. All plates were excellent. Dessert platter was perfect. Child’s meal was a pizza; just the right size. Wine selection is extensive. A little pricy but it’sa tradition! Recommended

Very nice atmosphere. Staff were very friendly. Yummy food & drink. Was expensive. Was for a work dinner, wouldn’t of gone to such an expensive place otherwise. Seating was a little cramped.

We were there very early at 5pm and had a good service. Do not know how that develops when the house is full and vibrant. Food was very tasty, we had the beef carpaccio (okay), the clams (very tasty!), the focaccia (amazing) and the steak (okay). Wine list could have some more lower-priced wines but was well sorted otherwise. And yes: when we made the reservation by phone the lady was extremely friendly, took her time and found a good solution!

Dinner for five. Ordered way too much food, but every single dish was terrific. Worthy of particular mention and praise are the clams, the fingerling potatoes and the arroz negro. Dessert platter was a dark chocolate lovers dream. Friendly and relaxed service. Can’t wait I return.
Be the first to ReplyPretty good, just missed great
Well, I was in town from Texas for a business meal and had high expectations for this Suzanne Goin experience. The first miscue was the Rose Sangiovese, server recommended, which missed the mark. The bacon wrapped dates were hyped, and good, but not enough for our table of 4. 2-3 servings should have been recommended. The small plate vegetables (everything is for sharing) were fine ...but just fine. Surprisingly enough, the fried chicken was the star of the meal. I left full, mostly satisfied and somewhat underwhelmed. I'd hope for something that would make me want to return. Again, the meal was pretty good, just missed great.

Visited on Sunday for lunch , ordered AOC burger, salad and Turkey sandwich, which was good but the morning was very limited and fre items on the menu. Great service and nice atmosphere
Be the first to ReplyGreat, relaxing meal
We went to A.O.C. to celebrate my husband's birthday. We made a reservation and sat outside. The patio was very relaxing and had plenty of umbrellas to shield us from the late day sun. The restaurant had a devastating kitchen fire a while back, but the restaurant is back in full swing and better than ever.
Michael, our server was extremely attentive, funny and was a host of information regarding the menu. He made sure that we had everything we needed but didn't hover over us which led to a relaxing, romantic birthday dinner. Thanks, Michael. You were top notch.
The bartender made a decent Moscow Mule. Not the best we've ever had, but not the worst.
For starters we ordered the bacon wrapped dates which were absolutely delicious. We also ordered the charcuterie board which was very good, but paired with the cheese board would have been much better than the charcuterie alone.
For the main course we ordered the lamb chops on a bed of puree of smoked eggplant, cucumber & preserved lemon labneh. The eggplant could have used a bit of salt. We also ordered the duck comfit on a bed of sautéed greens that make you want to cry out to god herself. The additional seared plus was a wonderful addition to the plate.
THESE PLATES ARE SMALL! However, with the appetizers we were full by the end of the meal. If there are two of you, I suggest ordering different dishes and share them. The duck comfit was OUT OF THIS WORLD delicious.
For two people, drinks, appetizers and dinner came to just under $140. It was well worth the price for the ambience, the service and the food.
We are looking forward to going back
Wonderful food and good service
As noted, its small plates..at big prices. For what you would get a full entre or appetizer for at most restaurants, you get half or a third as much.
still, the food is very good and its fun to pick a bunch of things to try.
there were 6 of us so we picked about 10 different dishes.
the duck was my favorite, along with the arroz negro (love the crispy bits of rice) although everyone else loved the hanger steak. The farmers board and charcuterie board were fantastic and between the two enough for all 6 of us to have a few bites.
with sharing 3 deserts, coffee and ice teas, no liquor, it ran approx $60 a person with tip and 5% worker health fee
Not a disappointing bite.
What a great place. Small (and expensive) plates for sure, but everything is exquisite. Our party of five started with interesting and delicious specialty cocktails followed by about 15 various plates, finishing with the dessert platter. The sommelier went out of his way to find info on an unusual bottle. Service overall was great, from the hostess to the affable server. We can’t afford to come here very often, but glad we did today.
Be the first to ReplyAbove & Beyond 5-Star Service at AOC
AOC has been our favorite restaurant in Los Angeles since they opened. On our most recent visit, we were greeted at our table by a friendly and welcoming server named Lindsey. We enjoyed a casual conversation with her and my wife mentioned that we had intended to celebrate my birthday at AOC last year but due to the Covid restrictions we were unable to. We proceeded to enjoy a most delicious dinner and as we sat back and relaxed, Lindsey arrived with a surprise dessert with a lit candle to celebrate the birthday I had missed celebrating last year! This totally blew us away! A truly great example of going above and beyond to provide guests with an evening to remember! We thank you Lindsey! You are 5-Stars all the way! Thank you AOC for having Lindsey on your team!

Excellent Meal and service. This restaurant had many small plates with great choices. We shared a starter with roasted vegetables, hummus. Then shared hanger steak with curried cauliflower and fingerling potatoes. Dessert was great. A butterscotch pudding
Be the first to ReplyGreat Meal in a Beautiful Setting
I think outdoor (or indoor) dining with plenty of foliage around is my favorite. It just enhances the experience greatly. There is valet available, so no need to labor over a parking spot if you need convenience. It's a lovely wine bar with very good small-plated food. Everything we had was very tasty from the Farmers Plate to the Pea Shoot Salad and also the Cauliflower. I had a tequila drink that was skillfully mixed just after we were seated. It was good, but I would probably prefer a glass of wine because I'm not the biggest fan of margaritas and the like. The wait staff was attentive and nice.

Had a terrific meal here. Everything really wonderful. Very good food. Very professional wait staff. Lovely atmosphere. Best meal we had in LA. If we lived in the city, I'm sure this would be one of our favorites. We were put off by two constants of LA restaurants - the huge fees for cancellations and the prices. This restaurant has the former but not the later. The cost per dish was more in line with what I'd expect. Small but decent wine list. Valet parking available.
