Very cosy atmosphere and delicious food.
A very good combination of drinks is available. The interior design has made the place good for a romantic night or a night out with friends and family. A lot of nice options for starter, main dish and some options for dessert is available.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent Persian food near Cadbury World.
We stopped in because we had to wait until our tour started at Cadbury. Quaint little place with a delicious smell of curry. The service was excellent even with our four crazy kids. I ordered the lamp kabobs and they were delicious. It came with garlic naan that was also fantastic. Overall, the place was a great experience and we would go again if we ever found ourselves in the area.
Be the first to ReplyI'm not entirely sure what Paprika Grill is supposed to be
I'm not entirely sure what Paprika Grill is supposed to be - "grilled meat from somewhere in the Middle East" is about as close as I can get - but whatever it is, it's good.Given that the menu is basically "grilled meat and vegetables on skewers" it's surprisingly broad - there are even vegetarian-friendly options! The service is also very friendly, if it's quiet you can sit right next to the kitchen and the chef will take your order directly - you can even watch him cooking it.The restaurant is small and cosy, and there's outside seating, although I'm not sure I'd want to sit outside on Raddlebarn Road given the traffic. It never seems to be too busy to get a table, and while it's more expensive than some of the cheap-food-for-students outlets on Bristol Road, it's still decent value.

We went here a few weeks ago for a birthday as its right beside my boyfriends mum and dads. The restaurant is really friendly and the staff were great. We had a really nice meal, I had the fried aubergine for my starter, it was really large for a starter and I was starting to fill up quickly. When we arrived they also gave us free olives :) For my main I had the tandoori chicken marinated in tandoori spices, skewers & served with fresh salad & a choice of side dish I chose the chilli nan bread. The portions were really big and it was really cool as we could see right into the kitchen and see everything being cooked. They offer a delivery service and loads of people seemed to be ordering when we went there on Sunday afternoon. It is off the beaten track, but it is a really cosy little restaurant that I'd definitely recommend.

don't know what it's like to visit, but don't order online - no food delivered, money still taken and not refunds despite constant apologies and promises that it would be refunded. A disgrace, not to be trusted.
Be the first to ReplyI dined here one night with my Mum and Aunt rather
I dined here one night with my Mum and Aunt rather spontaneously and when we went in we thought we would be turned away as it was completely packed. However, the waiter was very accommodating and removed his laptop from a table at the back and let us sit there. It was a lovely atmosphere, very cosy and lit with low blue lighting and candles. It really is a hidden gem. We ordered a bottle of wine, which was delightful and I ordered the sea bass skewers. My meal was wonderful and came with a side salad and dip, it was very tasty. I felt as though we had been whisked somewhere in the Mediterranean with the decor, the food and the music. The staff were lovely and made sure that we were comfortable and happy with our meals. I did not have dessert as I was so full after the meal, but we were not rushed to leave and so we stayed to finish our bottle of wine. Overall, it was a lovely place and is obviously quite popular even though it is quite small. The food is delicious and the staff are very pleasant. I am going to go again with friends soon and I am sure it will be just as good.
Be the first to ReplyPaprika is a little out of place on the off-license heavy
Paprika is a little out of place on the off-license heavy Raddlebarn Road, but this only serves to work in its favour as opposed to being on the student dominated Bristol Road 'strip'. After hearing many recommendations from friends and finally indulging my own curiosity after walking past it so many times, myself and a group of friends visited just last night. Clearly the restaurant is popular with those in the Selly Oak/Bournville area as there was no room other than outside to seat us, but as it had been a glorious (sunburnt) day, I think most of us were glad of cooling off in the evening air. It was a bit of a shame as it looked really lovely inside, with lots of atmospheric lighting and a view of the kitchen, but whaddya gonna do about it? It's not their fault that their so popular. Our host was terrific - on the walk home my group of friends surmised that the key to being a good waiter or host, and earning a decent tip is to be friendly and chatty but to most importantly not be too intrusive; something our guy had down to a tee. He quickly brought out some naan bread with two bowls of dipping houmous and tzatziki, which was delicious and urged us to try the red wine. We gave in and bought a bottle and it was a nice and smooth and went particularly well with our main courses. Unfortunately as we'd rolled in at about 9.30pm, a few things were off the menu, including all the vegetarian dishes: Our host promised to knock something up for our veggie friend, which manifested itself as a nice spread of grilled vegetables (aubergines, peppers, mushrooms) and plenty of dips and sauces that more than satisfied our vegetable loving pal. Three of the group, including myself, went with the pricier, but varied spread known as the 'Meat Feast'. This included really delicious lamb and chicken skewers (I think the lamb just edged out the chicken as the better meat), salad with more tzatziki and chips and naans on the side. A tangy hot sauce to share was provided, and we were all very impressed with the food and the service. Two bottles of red later, or bill roughly equated to about £14-£17 a head, which seemed perfectly reasonable to us thrifty students. Without wine and trimmings it could have easily been under a tenner a head. After spending the evening umming and ahhing over going to the chip shop or getting pizza, which no one was particularly excited over, it was a real welcome break from the usual eateries around our area. Our host thanked us warmly for our custom and we promised we'd be back: I'm very sure we will.

This place opened shortly after we moved to the area and I think I was one of the very first people to use it. What I like about it is that there is a real attention to detail in the food and it's so simple and tasty. They offer a range of 'meal deals that include really tasty, fresh kebabs and a mixture of rices, salads, breads and dips that combine into a really tasty meal at about £5-£8 per head. You can sit down and eat inside and the interior has a nice Taverna feel to it - lots of cosy wood and subtle lighting and a view of the open kitchen. The smells and noise that come from the kitchen, along with the ambiance, takes you a million miles away from South Brum. The last time we had a sit down meal there they did not have an alcohol license, so this meant that there was not only no booze for sale, but you were also prevented from bringing your own. The owner told me that they were on the case with this, and I hope they've sorted it out because this would be a lovely place to spend a long evening with friends over a meal and some drinks. You can also get takeaway from here which is of equally high standard. It's a wee bit more expensive that a chip shop kebab, but it is hundreds of times better than a greasy glob of meat in a stale pitta bread. Recommended
