Good ambience.
Good food, Namik was funny and great! The short rib papperdelle was really good!
Be the first to ReplyWorst service I've ever had in my life.
Food was mediocre, NOT worth the hype. Better off going to the street hotdog truck.
Be the first to ReplyDelightful experience!!! Everything was great, our server
Delightful experience!!! Everything was great, our server Alessia was super kind and gave us the best recommendations. Lemon cheesecake was beautiful.
Be the first to ReplySolid meal but not dying to come back.
My favorites were the whipped ricotta, filet mignon meatballs, and caviar gnocchi!! I wouldn't order the Caesar salad or scallops again.

I ordered an expresso martini with double shot of vodka which easy 25 dollars and it was brought to me in a high ball glass and my server told me she ran out of martini glasses mean while the bar was empty and it was 10 pm it was no excuses for not having one clean glass especially when it was that time at night. It ruined my experience with this restaurant in which I was looking forward to go to
Be the first to ReplyI enjoyed my experience at bad Roman.
The highlights for me was the ragu pasta, lemon cheesecake, whipped ricotta, meatballs, and calamari. The low lights was the tiramisu ice cream cake, it tasted like refrigerator , the other pasta (I forget the name) had a lot of anise and it overwhelming with anise flavor My group ordered the cocktails from their cocktail menu, which I don't typically do but this reminded me why because they were all disgusting. We didn't finish any of our drinks. Should have stuck to my martinis. Really great ambiance and vibes. It's a gorgeous space. I would definitely return! Just some items were a huge miss. Service was average.
Be the first to ReplyIG-approved venue with a cool vibe for sure.
but the food and flavors were lacking. Pastas were mid, even the Fiorentina (which looked amazing) lacked seasoning. The atmosphere was memorable but the food was not. Temper your expecatations and it can deliver an enjoyable experience. Food: 6/10 Value: 6/10 Service: 7/10 Vibe: 9/10

I have heard mixed reviews for this place, but let me tell you it was an AMAZING experience. Right away the sommelier came over and offered a wine selection, and our waiter gave great recommendations for food. The spicy Caesar and ribs were top notch for apps. The star of the show is the filet mignon with the cacio e pepe ravioli on top. What a dish!!
Be the first to ReplyThe food was excellent.
The service was great and the ambiance and decor was A VIBE. I would definitely skip the babka, although delicious, it was just a glorified croissant. Honey ricotta was superb oh and the beef carpaccio was amazing !!
Be the first to ReplyFood amazing.
Interesting service, but added to the evening. Packed on a random night
Be the first to ReplyLet me start off by saying I was anticipating visiting this
Let me start off by saying I was anticipating visiting this establishment like no other. I impatiently waited day after day for an available reservation to open up. The day came, and a reservation became available...I WAS GOING TO BAD ROMAN. Overjoyed with excited, I immediately shared the news with my friends and let them know that my dream of celebrating my birthday at Bad Roman was soon to be a reality.I was running about 30 minutes late for my reservation due to traffic, as I was traveling all the way from southern NJ for this special day. I contacted the restaurant as soon as I realized I would be late. The host assured me that it would not be an issue and I would still be able to have a full dining experience.Upon my arrival, I was greeted by a very nice host with long curly hair. She made me feel very welcome regardless of my late arrival. The atmosphere was absolutely beautiful! The decor was vibrant and the music was lively! It was love at first sight...but I'm sure we've all heard the old saying "don't judge a book by its cover." We ordered the black truffle honey whipped ricotta (tasted like ricotta with a honey drizzle on top, no trace of truffle for the $18 price point). The roasted garlic bakka (this was actually good, tasted like an old classic Italian garlic bread). The East Coast Oysters were delish (I really enjoyed the Cherry Pepper Mignonette, was the perfect combination of tangy and spicy). The Tartare (could have done with out it, it tasted very bland.. just tasting like tuna and tomato). The Filet Mignonette Meatballs (SKIP THIS! These tasted like the school meatballs from elementary school. They were bland..I've had better meatballs at a local pizza shop!) The Rock Shrimp Garganelli (advertised as an Asian inspired dish, however the inspo was very hard to find. It was very lack luster. I don't know if the chef might have been tired while he was cooking this dish and skipped out on an ingredient or several but it tasted similar to a chicken noodle soup...very odd). The Chicken Al Limone (Wowwww just great is all I would say). The Lobster and Calabrian pasta (pretty good some what spicy but nothing special). Lemon Cheesecake (worth trying, very good).Like I said earlier it was my birthday so my friends had purchased me a $200 cake. I asked the kitchen to hold the cake while I was eating my dinner, and they took my cake to the kitchen with open arms. As soon as I finished my entree I asked my waiter to get my cake from the back. He notified me that it would not be an issue and went to the back of the restaurant as if he were retrieving the cake. 20 minutes later the server arrived with my cake cut in 5 large sloppy pieces with a lit candle on each piece for my 4 friends and I. I immediately felt my heart sink into my chest! The cake that my friends had spent their hard earned money on, the cake of my dreams, the cake that was supposed to tie this night together was destroyed! The restaurant cut it without even presenting the cake to me! I never requested the cake be cut, as I was taking it home to eat it being the restaurant was about to close. I asked to speak to a manager and a tall black man with glasses approached me he revealed that his title was "the project manager" at the restaurant. He approached our table in a disgruntled manner. I explained the situation and my frustration. He reminded us that we came late, basically implying that if we were to arrive on time the cake wouldn't have been destroyed in the manner it was. I let him know that my party and I would have never came to the restaurant if our lateness was an issue. He failed to apologize and reiterated that we were the issue in the situation due to not being on time. I was hurt and let down. I couldn't believe a night I was looking forward to for weeks turned out to be a nightmare. I would not recommend this restaurant to a friend or foe. Bad Roman...you lost your biggest fan.

This place is a scene and a refreshingly fun one in Time Warner Center. Harrison our server was the best waiter I've encountered in a very long time. The drinks were fabulous and the shrimp garganelli was so satisfying, filling and flavorful. The lemon cheesecake is an absolute must.

Lucked out and booked a 5:30 reservation on a Wednesday night. The space was bustling and vibes were positive and we were excited to try this trending spot after seeing all the amazing pics and videos. TLDR; while I was lucky enough to have tried it, I would not go back a second time. Upon seating, we were told that our dining time is adhered to the 90 minutes given the space is fully booked. My date and I ordered a bottle of red along with the beef carpaccio, short rib pappardelle, filetto with cacio e pepe raviolo, charred broccoli rabe, and lemon cheesecake for dessert. Beef carpaccio & truffle chips - while interesting sounding and tasted decent, was overall underwhelming. Presentation wise felt sloppy and unaesthetic given it was just a few slices of carpaccio over a pile of truffle potato chips, then drizzled with an anchovy sauce.Short rib pappardelle - pasta and short rib were cooked very well! However the overall sauce felt watery, like a weak gravy. I would've appreciated if the sauce were slightly thicker for the pasta to be more flavorful. Filetto - this is where it hurt.. we ordered our steak medium rare and it arrived medium well. Given we were nearing the end of our dining time there was no time to send back and ask for a new one (also worth noting that the steak took a while to come out after the earlier courses were finished and we had another resy to get to after dinner). However the raviolo addition worked splendidly as it was also cooked very well and the flavors definitely elevated the medium well steak.Broccoli rabe - smoky and charred, big portion. However felt a bit too salty for my palate. Lemon cheesecake - Presentation was adorable and on point, with pieces of lemon inside the cheesecake as well. The granola crumbles added extra sweetness and depth of texture to the smooth cake - this was my favorite dish of the night!Knowing we were rushed out for the next reservation, we proactively asked for the check during dessert to be mindful for the next party. The server had taken a while to arrive back with the check even long after we finished our dessert.

This was a very pleasantly surprising experience and the food here was some of the best Italian food I've had in NYC. We managed to sneak a walk in at 9 and got a seat with the staff being very friendly and accommodating. The food we got is listed below and I've tried to summarize opinions accordingly for each:Pepperoni Chips: basically big pepperoni cups with a side of dipping ranch, how could you go wrong here!Ricotta Honey Truffle Dip: delicious spread of fresh ricotta with a drizzle of honey and truffle on top. My only complaint was they didn't give us a lot of bread sticks but we got innovative and used the garlic bread and pepperonis as dipping surfaces.Babka Garlic Bread: this is the bread they serve on the house and it was well executed. Light, airy and crispy with a nice compliment to the other apps.Rock Shrimp Pasta: excellent dish with hazelnuts to add a nutty flavor. The shrimp adds a nice bite to this and would recommend, although there were t that many shrimp in the pasta dish itself.Lobster for 2: this was also fantastic, basically a whole 2lb lobster cut in half and with lobster pasta served inside. The pasta was outstanding and had Calabrian chilis to balance with some heat but also was rich. Lemon cheesecake: very innovative take on cheesecake, basically serving each cheesecake in a chocolate shell shaped liked a lemon with a cheesecake filling. I normally am not a fan of lemon desserts, but this was outstanding and arguably the best thing I had here.Ambiance was also very chic and a great looking venue. I will definitely be back somehow someway, knowing that getting a res is going to be impossible in the future!
Be the first to ReplyThe food is fun and everything tasted fine.
However, I am not buying into the hype of this spot. Nothing blew me away. It was an enjoyable dinner, but not dying to go back anytime soon. I could do without the roni cups. Enjoyed the caeser, filet, and cheesecake.
Be the first to ReplyI've been to MANY restaurants in NYC and around the world.
This was by far the worst dining experience. I've never been so disrespected in my life and being yelled at by the hostess on my birthday!? Management, I urge you to evaluate your staff properly Food: 6/10, our food was coldWaiter: 0/10, never checked in on us once we got our foodManagement: -10000/10, condescending, disrespectful, did not listen to what we were trying to get across. Hostess: -10000/10, I've never gotten yelled at while dining out and laughed at by restaurant staff. She definitely needs to check her attitude. I understand this restaurant is new and still working out all the kinks and we fully acknowledged that when we offered the manager feedback. We were met with complete disregard that we were paying guests. If you're interested in hearing more about what happened, please refer to Shirley D's post below.
Be the first to ReplyMy third visit and it gets better every time.
The place is beautiful and the food delicious. The cocktails are fun and campy. Everything has a fun twist of whimsy but don't let that fool you the culinary chops are serous. Shawna was my server twice. She is a superstar! She knows her menu, describing and recommending items like a pro. Shawna just make the experience that much better. Must get are the garlic babka and the lemon cheesecake, yes those lemons are actually cheesecake. Bad Roman has made dining fun again. From the hosts in front the servers Bad Roman is an amazing experience.
Be the first to ReplyBad Roman is the best non-Italian Italian restaurant I've
Bad Roman is the best non-Italian Italian restaurant I've ever been to. Okay, it's probably the only non-Italian Italian restaurant I've been to, so its in a category all its own. I think that's part of the allure. Don't get me wrong, the food is decidedly Italian, but it's irreverent in a way that's exciting. It takes itself seriously in not taking itself too seriously. Sold yet? Don't worry if you're not, because it is virtually impossible to get a reservation here. But if you are, come for the glitz, the people watching, the grandiosity, and stay for some delicious, playful food and drinks. We came here at around 8:30 on a Saturday night. As expected, it was absolutely packed, and with very important-looking people. If you like watching high end suits and a dizzying number of designer bags go by, this is your place. Given how hard it is to get a reservation here, you must need to know someone who knows someone who knows someone etc etc. I called Bad Roman earlier in the day to ask about their walk-in/bar seating policy. First come, first served. We decided that we'd try our luck at the bar, as some recent success elsewhere had us feeling motivated and optimistic. As is turns out, there's quite a lot of bar seating here. Not only are there seats at the actual bar, but there are a bunch of cocktail tables in the bar area that easily sit 2-3 people. We noticed (read: overheard through eavesdropping) that a few of these tables were sitting there until their reserved tables opened up, so we loitered around until one of these parties moved. All in all, we maybe waited 15 minutes -- not bad at all.It took a while for someone to come by initially, which had me concerned that we'd be neglected all evening, but service was pretty consistent once we were first attended to. To start, I got the famous Martini Pepperoncini (Grey Goose, Pepperoncini Brine, Lemon) and my husband got the Ciao, Mama (Ilegal Mezcal, Limoncello, San Pellegrino, Pink Salt). I'm not a vodka martini person, but this one was excellent. This one is definitively dirty, which is right up my alley. The Ciao Mama was also delicious, super light and refreshing. We also got the Strawberry Sbagliato (Strawberry-Infused Aperol, Bianco Vermouth, Prosecco) -- I had never tried one before and wanted to know what the fuss was all about -- the Bad Ombré (Maker's Mark, Lemon, Barolo Float, Chinato Sinker), and the Roman Cocktail (Michter's Rye, Campari, Hazelnut). Honestly, they were all fantastic. I don't tend to go for spritzes, but the Sbagliato was incredible. The Bad Ombré was super creative and beautifully presented. Food-wise, we stuck with a variety of small plates and sides in order to try as many dishes as possible without getting overstuffed. There's an impressive variety of options on the menu here, so good luck deliberating. Raw bar, appetizers, pasta, fish, poultry, meat, tons of sides, and they also tend to have a few nightly specials. Eats, below:Yellowtail Crudo w/ Charred Grapefruit, Pistachio: A-/ACrudo and citrus are always a perfect match, as was the case here. Bright and light, with the pistachio lending a little crunch for texture.Radicchio Tricolore w/ Endive, Granny Smith: AI just love winter greens. Juicy and crunchy, the combo of radicchio, endive and apple was just sublime. A little sour and a little bitter with a perfectly light and creamy dressing to tie it all together. Bad Roman Wedge w/ Antipasti & Italian Dressing: B+We really had our hopes up for this one but for whatever reason, it missed the mark a bit. Still solid, but didn't wow us like the last salad did. Points for presentation, though.Lobster Scampi (special): AIf you're not feeling like committing to the whole lobster, the scampi special is a great way to go. You still get plenty of delicious, decadent lobster meat without the pomp and circumstance of a massive animal on your table.Filet Mignon Meatballs: AIs ground filet mignon sacrilege? I guarantee many culinary purists would say yes. Yet, these were one of the highlights of the night. Our server raved about them, and for good reason. Charred Broccoli Rabe: A-If I could do it again I'd probably get the brussels sprouts instead, but this was still a solid side. Just didn't wow us like some of the other dishes did. I'm not sure what the Race Car shot thing is in reference to, but we bought in and decided to get a pair. My husband got the Ferrari shot (Fernet & Campari) while I got the Maserati shot (Mezcal Vida & Ramazzotti). He loved his, I loved mine. I'd never think to put mezcal and ramazzotti together but now I'm excited to try these at home.

The decor, the food, the presentation! These are just a few exciting things about Bad Roman. I was lucky enough to snag a seat at the bar at this delicious hot spot. An absolute must is the lemon cheesecake and yes I realize that I am jumping to dessert but it was just THAT GOOD! I had the filet topped with cacio e pepe ravioli. My only critique? I wish I had ordered two! We also got the short rib pasta (freshly made!) and it was light and delicious. Service was great. Skip the tiramisu ice cream cake unless you have coffee and can stand to let the dessert melt for 10 min so the ice cream can get a little soft.

Found this place via TikTok and had to make a reservation asap! Was able to secure a 5:15p reservation on a Tuesday for a group of friends. We started out with the long penne pasta (my favorite dish), spicy Caesar salad, truffle honey ricotta and garlic babka. For entrees we split the cacio e Pepe filet mignon, bolognese, and caviar gnocchi. Star of the show was the lemon cheesecake. Would go back for the filet and pasta. Skip the bolognese and tiramisu ice cream cake.Follow my instagram: @global_grubs for more food recommendations and photos!
Be the first to ReplyI'm not sure of the reservation structure.
We were all ready to for 5:00pm but there was a line outside of the door and still a slight wait once we were inside. So, seating was not prompt. Nice decor and good music! Pretty drinks and a great bar. The food was overall ok. Our group tried a bit of everything: the honey truffle ricotta and meatballs were a big hit. The pear and arugula salad was also delicious. Interestingly, the entrees did not come with pasta. So, in order to make a complete meal, you're adding a salad and pasta and it ends up being a lot of food. I would've loved to see a section of smaller sides on the menu. The scallops had good flavor, but the kale mafaldine was so salty it was inedible. The lemon cheesecake was more impressive to look at than to actually eat-it's no Eileen's or Junior's. I'm told Don Angie is better, but I note this place is new.

Really enjoyed my experience here! The service, food, ambiance everything overall was great. Everyone was very welcoming and personable. Our entire food / drink order was taken at once but brought out at the appropriate timing. (And perfect timing might I add, not too soon not too late!)We ordered:- garlic babka- roni cups- black truffle honey whipped ricotta- fillet Cacio E Pepe- fillet Spicy Crab Cannelloni and took home the short rib pappardelle Everything was delicious, honestly 0 complaints! If you can snag a resy don't hesitate just book and go. I will definitely be back again!

Managed to snag a reservation at Bad Roman last week, and it lived up to the hype! The vibe is 80s glitz and glamour with an Italian flare, and apparently this is what NY didn't know it needed. Despite being a Tuesday night, it was PACKED. Standing room only at the bar and people were milling about the entrance waiting for their tables to be ready. There are a good number of vegetarian sides and appetizers, but only one vegetarian pasta, so it's manageable, but not the most veggie friendly. We ordered:Black Truffle Honey Whipped Ricotta - SO good. This is a must order IMO. It comes with three small pieces of bread, and a delicious heap of ricotta with drizzle of honey. Ask for more bread; you'll need it.Roasted Garlic Babka - This has the texture/taste of a soft, buttery croissant laced with garlic. I wasn't sure if I liked it at first, but it grew on me.Penne Luongo alla Gricia - This comes with pancetta, but they removed it to make it veggie friendly. It's essentially cacio e pepe with an extra long penne pasta, and it was delicious. Tiramisu Ice Cream Cake - Consistently good to the end, this was the perfect end to our meal. Overall, not the healthiest meal, but definitely worth it.
Be the first to ReplyWas able to snag a high-top bar table when they first
Was able to snag a high-top bar table when they first opened. Space is beautifully designed and very trendy. The menu is so large which is a different take from the cost-cutting smaller menus I have been experiencing lately. There is something for everyone and then some. Let's just start with the roasted garlic babka - if you have been to Don Angie you know that they have a way with garlic and wow this dish is the perfect balance of sweet and savory 10/10. The black truffle honey whipped ricotta is exciting since they pour the honey on top at the table. Pasta: The table wanted the cappelletti bistecca but I was so appalled by the price I just shook my head. It was good but $42 is pure robbery for that. Entrees: Two of us had the filet with cacio e pepe on top, one veal chop, and the branzino. I didn't love the cacio e pepe pasta. I thought the pasta was too thick and gummy. The sauce inside was good but a bit heavy for me. I would skip this next time but my friend LOVED it so it's probably just a "me" thing. Desserts - I am not even a fan of cheesecake but the Lemon Cheesecake is AMAZING. This insta worthy dish is off the charts. Lite and perfectly lemony with little bits of cracker crust surrounding the lemons. 10/10. We ordered the stick toffee panettone but for some reason received the chocolate torte - which was fine but not what we wanted per se. Everything was running smoothly until dessert took 20-25 mins and they brought out the wrong thing. Perhaps they are working on service a bit. I am not in this area often but would make a special trip for this place.
