Middle of the road at best.
Packs in the B&T crowd and tourists. Better food and wine can be found elsewhere. Service was ok.
Be the first to ReplyWent for dinner on a Sunday.
The place was really packed. Despite having a reservation, we had to wait 15 minutes to be seated. One of the bartenders was very sweet and offered us water. We were seated and had to wait another 15 minutes for someone to come take out orders. There was no "hello how are you? I am _____ . I'll be taking care of you today". It was just a "Are you guys ready to order?" after a 15 minute wait. I got the pepperoni cups, garlic babka and the calamari. We got the habanero slush which had a very interesting presentation. It was a bit spicy. We also got the sole non-alcoholic wine on the menu which was from Copenhagen. That tasted good as well. The food was great. The service was weak. The pricing is moderate. The ambience is really great with amazing decor and fantastic mood lighting.

**Review of Bad Roman** Had a delightful dinner date at the trendy Bad Roman! From the moment we walked in, the aesthetic set the perfect vibe. Our waitress, Shawna, was a superstar--attentive and charming! We kicked things off with the Roasted Garlic Babka (heavenly!), a Spicy Gem Caesar with crispy ciabatta crumbs, and the indulgent Black Truffle Honey Whipped Ricotta--pure bliss! For our main, we tried the Short Rib Pappardelle. While the sauce was delicious, the pasta was a bit overcooked, which took away from the overall experience. Despite the pasta hiccup, we thoroughly enjoyed the appetizers and the fantastic service. Definitely a spot to check out for a fun night out!

Service was good and decor is great. Sitting by the window looking out was great. The whipped ricotta was great. The filet and raviolo was also on point. There was not a dish I did not like. None of the dishes are tiny and everything was shareable.

Went last Friday night for dinner with my bf. We were in town for 4th of July weekend. Didn't disappoint the decor was snakes which I love it's my favorite animal. To start we ordered the black truffle honey whipped ricotta with the ciabatta. It was sooooo good. Also the arugula and pears salad must get! For our entrees we got the Rock Shrimp Chitarra ( not my favorite of the night) and Chicken Scarpariello Rigatoni. We both decided that if there's a next time to try something different not our best choices. For dessert we had to get the lemon cheesecake a must and for out surprise they complimented us with Beignets since we were celebrating my bf's bday. Overall good experience must try and service can take a little while but it's only because it's supper busy so understandable.
Be the first to ReplyExactly as expected and maybe even worse.
The vibe is over the top. It's on the 3rd floor in the Columbus circle shops. Large extravagant doors await you as you walk up. The vibe is very sexy. The bartender started by giving my date a free sample of their martini which was nice. We were seated immediately. The decor is gorgeous. The bench seating is a comfortable velvet couch. The rest of the night did not go as well. The drinks were nothing special and if anything I was happy in choosing whiskey on the rocks as it was a heavy pour and my dates cocktails tasted like a child had made them. The cocktails had no thought and were not tasty. The whipped ricotta with honey was ok. The bread was stale. The ricotta and honey was delicious but we found plastic in the ricotta! We didn't say anything. The clams were small, over salted and just bleh. Baked clams are one of the most delicious dishes on the planet. Why bake pasta on it? Why over salt it? It came on a bed of salt that they light on fire. It was beautiful. I wish it tasted better. The Caesar salad was big and good but again sloppy. They left whole chunks of lettuce with dressing. Why not chop it. This was the best of the appetizers. We got the Dover sole which was big and delicious but for $60 it should be. It was on top of a cream sauce that was tasteless. The fish would have been fine with just lemon. I requested lemon that never came. My date got the shrimp pasta dish. The pasta was good. The serving was on the smaller side. Overall we had a great time because it is a beautiful venue, my date was great and the main dishes outshined the appetizer fiasco. The price is typical for fine dining in NYC but I can't say it was deserving. You are paying for the ambiance and not the food. Overall though, the restaurant should focus on the quality of the food they are serving just as much as the aesthetics of the establishment. In my opinion, this is one you can pass on unless you want to grab a sexy drink with a sexy vibe and share a bowl of pasta.

Came here for my birthday because I always wanted to try their Lemon Cheesecake. I like the table they sat us in as I could see Columbus and part of Central Park. I like their bar set up and the lighting. The server was very good at explaining the food and drinks choices. The appetizer was good we really enjoyed the Garlic Babka and the Fritto Misto. Out of all the topping for the Ricotta cheese we enjoyed the Calabrian Chili Oil the most. But be aware if you want more bread you have to ask and wait for them to toast them up. My wife ordered the short rib pappardelle which was good and we both enjoyed it. I ordered the Filetto with Cacio E Pepe Raviolo. The Steak was good but nothing overly special and the cacio e Pepe sauce was good which worked out as a sauce for the steak. Orders a side of Rosemary Sage Fries which was really good. I really enjoyed the Lemon Cheesecake and highly recommend it as it is very interesting take on the traditional cheesecake. Great place for a meet up or a hang out as the bar and view is very good.

My friend and I recently went to Bad Roman for dinner and we had a really nice time. I loved the ambiance and the decor - it's a beautiful space and actually, very big! You have to make a reservation in advanced, for sure. The food was good - i think the highlight was the truffle ricotta appetizer! The pastas were good, but nothing to write home about. We also LOVED the tiramisu ice cream cake. The only complaint is that we felt very rushed by our server - which i don't love, but it was still a great spot.

We recently dined at Bad Roman in NYC and here's our detailed review of everything we ordered: Roasted Garlic Babka $8 A hit! Reminded me of garlic butter monkey bread. Absolutely delicious and a must-try. East Coast Oysters $4/pc Good, liked the mignonette, but nothing special. If you're an oyster fan, these are worth a try but don't expect anything extraordinary. Filet Mignon Meatballs $18 We all loved these! Tender, flavorful, and smothered in a great red sauce, topped with just the right amount of Parmesan cheese. Definitely a highlight of the meal. Spicy Gem Caesar $19 (not pictured) Our server recommended this one. It was honestly delicious, but I don't think I would order it again. Short Rib Pappardelle $34 This was my main dish, and it was delicious. Was it the best pasta I've ever had? Absolutely not, but I enjoyed it. For the portion, quality, and price, I don't need to order it again. Whole Roasted 2lb Lobster + Calabrian Pasta $95 I thought this one was going to be a winner, but I was wrong. The lobster was okay, but definitely not the freshest. The pasta had a good spicy, creamy vodka-style sauce. For the price, I was expecting a better quality lobster with more meat. Roasted Branzino $42 Nicely deboned and presented, the fish was fresh, and the salsa verde under it was good. There was just nothing special about the dish. Filetto $47 + Cacio e Pepe Raviolo $6 The filet mignon was good, but the raviolo was probably my favorite part. Again, nothing mind-blowing. Rosemary-Sage Fries $14 I just love fries These were no exception! Desserts: Caramelized Chocolate Tart + Olive Oil Gelato $14 Napoletana $18 Lemon Cheesecake $19 Overall, Bad Roman has some hits and misses. The Roasted Garlic Babka and Filet Mignon Meatballs were standouts, but other dishes did not live up to their price tag. NYC offers many fantastic dining options with better value for money. We recommend trying the Babka and Meatballs if you decide to visit. Final Verdict: The food was good, but for the price, we expected more. If you're in the area and curious, go for the Roasted Garlic Babka and Filet Mignon Meatballs. The restaurant was spacious and has a large bar as well. I recommend getting a reservation just cause it usually is a little busy. It is located inside of a mall so you need to go up the escalators or elevators to access the restaurant.
Be the first to ReplyGood ambience.
Good food, Namik was funny and great! The short rib papperdelle was really good!
Be the first to ReplyWorst service I've ever had in my life.
Food was mediocre, NOT worth the hype. Better off going to the street hotdog truck.

Delightful experience!!! Everything was great, our server Alessia was super kind and gave us the best recommendations. Lemon cheesecake was beautiful.
Be the first to ReplySolid meal but not dying to come back.
My favorites were the whipped ricotta, filet mignon meatballs, and caviar gnocchi!! I wouldn't order the Caesar salad or scallops again.
Be the first to ReplyI ordered an expresso martini with double shot of vodka
I ordered an expresso martini with double shot of vodka which easy 25 dollars and it was brought to me in a high ball glass and my server told me she ran out of martini glasses mean while the bar was empty and it was 10 pm it was no excuses for not having one clean glass especially when it was that time at night. It ruined my experience with this restaurant in which I was looking forward to go to
Be the first to ReplyI enjoyed my experience at bad Roman.
The highlights for me was the ragu pasta, lemon cheesecake, whipped ricotta, meatballs, and calamari. The low lights was the tiramisu ice cream cake, it tasted like refrigerator , the other pasta (I forget the name) had a lot of anise and it overwhelming with anise flavor My group ordered the cocktails from their cocktail menu, which I don't typically do but this reminded me why because they were all disgusting. We didn't finish any of our drinks. Should have stuck to my martinis. Really great ambiance and vibes. It's a gorgeous space. I would definitely return! Just some items were a huge miss. Service was average.
Be the first to ReplyIG-approved venue with a cool vibe for sure.
but the food and flavors were lacking. Pastas were mid, even the Fiorentina (which looked amazing) lacked seasoning. The atmosphere was memorable but the food was not. Temper your expecatations and it can deliver an enjoyable experience. Food: 6/10 Value: 6/10 Service: 7/10 Vibe: 9/10

I have heard mixed reviews for this place, but let me tell you it was an AMAZING experience. Right away the sommelier came over and offered a wine selection, and our waiter gave great recommendations for food. The spicy Caesar and ribs were top notch for apps. The star of the show is the filet mignon with the cacio e pepe ravioli on top. What a dish!!
Be the first to ReplyThe food was excellent.
The service was great and the ambiance and decor was A VIBE. I would definitely skip the babka, although delicious, it was just a glorified croissant. Honey ricotta was superb oh and the beef carpaccio was amazing !!
Be the first to ReplyFood amazing.
Interesting service, but added to the evening. Packed on a random night
Be the first to ReplyLet me start off by saying I was anticipating visiting this
Let me start off by saying I was anticipating visiting this establishment like no other. I impatiently waited day after day for an available reservation to open up. The day came, and a reservation became available...I WAS GOING TO BAD ROMAN. Overjoyed with excited, I immediately shared the news with my friends and let them know that my dream of celebrating my birthday at Bad Roman was soon to be a reality.I was running about 30 minutes late for my reservation due to traffic, as I was traveling all the way from southern NJ for this special day. I contacted the restaurant as soon as I realized I would be late. The host assured me that it would not be an issue and I would still be able to have a full dining experience.Upon my arrival, I was greeted by a very nice host with long curly hair. She made me feel very welcome regardless of my late arrival. The atmosphere was absolutely beautiful! The decor was vibrant and the music was lively! It was love at first sight...but I'm sure we've all heard the old saying "don't judge a book by its cover." We ordered the black truffle honey whipped ricotta (tasted like ricotta with a honey drizzle on top, no trace of truffle for the $18 price point). The roasted garlic bakka (this was actually good, tasted like an old classic Italian garlic bread). The East Coast Oysters were delish (I really enjoyed the Cherry Pepper Mignonette, was the perfect combination of tangy and spicy). The Tartare (could have done with out it, it tasted very bland.. just tasting like tuna and tomato). The Filet Mignonette Meatballs (SKIP THIS! These tasted like the school meatballs from elementary school. They were bland..I've had better meatballs at a local pizza shop!) The Rock Shrimp Garganelli (advertised as an Asian inspired dish, however the inspo was very hard to find. It was very lack luster. I don't know if the chef might have been tired while he was cooking this dish and skipped out on an ingredient or several but it tasted similar to a chicken noodle soup...very odd). The Chicken Al Limone (Wowwww just great is all I would say). The Lobster and Calabrian pasta (pretty good some what spicy but nothing special). Lemon Cheesecake (worth trying, very good).Like I said earlier it was my birthday so my friends had purchased me a $200 cake. I asked the kitchen to hold the cake while I was eating my dinner, and they took my cake to the kitchen with open arms. As soon as I finished my entree I asked my waiter to get my cake from the back. He notified me that it would not be an issue and went to the back of the restaurant as if he were retrieving the cake. 20 minutes later the server arrived with my cake cut in 5 large sloppy pieces with a lit candle on each piece for my 4 friends and I. I immediately felt my heart sink into my chest! The cake that my friends had spent their hard earned money on, the cake of my dreams, the cake that was supposed to tie this night together was destroyed! The restaurant cut it without even presenting the cake to me! I never requested the cake be cut, as I was taking it home to eat it being the restaurant was about to close. I asked to speak to a manager and a tall black man with glasses approached me he revealed that his title was "the project manager" at the restaurant. He approached our table in a disgruntled manner. I explained the situation and my frustration. He reminded us that we came late, basically implying that if we were to arrive on time the cake wouldn't have been destroyed in the manner it was. I let him know that my party and I would have never came to the restaurant if our lateness was an issue. He failed to apologize and reiterated that we were the issue in the situation due to not being on time. I was hurt and let down. I couldn't believe a night I was looking forward to for weeks turned out to be a nightmare. I would not recommend this restaurant to a friend or foe. Bad Roman...you lost your biggest fan.

This place is a scene and a refreshingly fun one in Time Warner Center. Harrison our server was the best waiter I've encountered in a very long time. The drinks were fabulous and the shrimp garganelli was so satisfying, filling and flavorful. The lemon cheesecake is an absolute must.

Lucked out and booked a 5:30 reservation on a Wednesday night. The space was bustling and vibes were positive and we were excited to try this trending spot after seeing all the amazing pics and videos. TLDR; while I was lucky enough to have tried it, I would not go back a second time. Upon seating, we were told that our dining time is adhered to the 90 minutes given the space is fully booked. My date and I ordered a bottle of red along with the beef carpaccio, short rib pappardelle, filetto with cacio e pepe raviolo, charred broccoli rabe, and lemon cheesecake for dessert. Beef carpaccio & truffle chips - while interesting sounding and tasted decent, was overall underwhelming. Presentation wise felt sloppy and unaesthetic given it was just a few slices of carpaccio over a pile of truffle potato chips, then drizzled with an anchovy sauce.Short rib pappardelle - pasta and short rib were cooked very well! However the overall sauce felt watery, like a weak gravy. I would've appreciated if the sauce were slightly thicker for the pasta to be more flavorful. Filetto - this is where it hurt.. we ordered our steak medium rare and it arrived medium well. Given we were nearing the end of our dining time there was no time to send back and ask for a new one (also worth noting that the steak took a while to come out after the earlier courses were finished and we had another resy to get to after dinner). However the raviolo addition worked splendidly as it was also cooked very well and the flavors definitely elevated the medium well steak.Broccoli rabe - smoky and charred, big portion. However felt a bit too salty for my palate. Lemon cheesecake - Presentation was adorable and on point, with pieces of lemon inside the cheesecake as well. The granola crumbles added extra sweetness and depth of texture to the smooth cake - this was my favorite dish of the night!Knowing we were rushed out for the next reservation, we proactively asked for the check during dessert to be mindful for the next party. The server had taken a while to arrive back with the check even long after we finished our dessert.

This was a very pleasantly surprising experience and the food here was some of the best Italian food I've had in NYC. We managed to sneak a walk in at 9 and got a seat with the staff being very friendly and accommodating. The food we got is listed below and I've tried to summarize opinions accordingly for each:Pepperoni Chips: basically big pepperoni cups with a side of dipping ranch, how could you go wrong here!Ricotta Honey Truffle Dip: delicious spread of fresh ricotta with a drizzle of honey and truffle on top. My only complaint was they didn't give us a lot of bread sticks but we got innovative and used the garlic bread and pepperonis as dipping surfaces.Babka Garlic Bread: this is the bread they serve on the house and it was well executed. Light, airy and crispy with a nice compliment to the other apps.Rock Shrimp Pasta: excellent dish with hazelnuts to add a nutty flavor. The shrimp adds a nice bite to this and would recommend, although there were t that many shrimp in the pasta dish itself.Lobster for 2: this was also fantastic, basically a whole 2lb lobster cut in half and with lobster pasta served inside. The pasta was outstanding and had Calabrian chilis to balance with some heat but also was rich. Lemon cheesecake: very innovative take on cheesecake, basically serving each cheesecake in a chocolate shell shaped liked a lemon with a cheesecake filling. I normally am not a fan of lemon desserts, but this was outstanding and arguably the best thing I had here.Ambiance was also very chic and a great looking venue. I will definitely be back somehow someway, knowing that getting a res is going to be impossible in the future!
Be the first to ReplyThe food is fun and everything tasted fine.
However, I am not buying into the hype of this spot. Nothing blew me away. It was an enjoyable dinner, but not dying to go back anytime soon. I could do without the roni cups. Enjoyed the caeser, filet, and cheesecake.
