Feels like a nice, good neighborhood restaurant when you
Feels like a nice, good neighborhood restaurant when you walk in. But the food is what elevates Baieta to the next level. We did the Signature menu and it was amazing. Each dish had so many complex flavors and textures and built on the prior dish. Great meal.

We came here for dinner and did the mystery chef prefixed menu and wine pairing dinner. The food was amazing!! It was so cool to try new things. The service was amazing, they were so helpful and willing to go above and beyond. This was my first Michelin star dinner experience and it did not disappoint.
Be the first to ReplyWalking down the street, it was lunch time.
I recognized the name because it was part of the list I saw of Michelin starred restaurants nearby. I hadn't eaten, popped in without a reservation - there was only 2 other tables dining, 2 more joined shortly, making it 5 tables with 2 waitstaff. Service was great -- it was cute when my waitress went to her colleague to ask how to say "enjoy your meal" in English. I opted for the 4 dishes "chef surprise" as she called it and didn't know what to expect. I didn't do the wine pairing because I have to work later in the evening but I did get a glass of wine. They started with amuse bouche, little delicate bites one of which had sardines and packed a punch which I loved! The Chilean seabass was good just maybe lacked flavor. The lemon sorbet was refreshing, just what you'd want after a large meal. I'm not going to go into the details of each item but overall I thought the food was great, artfully and skillfully done. They didn't get a 5 stars from me because the service was rather slow and I was in a hurry. I don't think I'll be back just because there's so many pleases to try in Paris, but I did enjoy the meal and would recommend it if you're in the area.
Be the first to ReplyBaieta in Paris is one of the best restaurants I've ever
Baieta in Paris is one of the best restaurants I've ever been to! The flavors were outstanding and so refreshing. It was amazing to see how the chef turned something as "ordinary" as onion to something so divine! After the first course (for me this was the egg) I thought it could only go downhill from there as it was incredible, the flavors, structures, presentation, but every course lived up and beyond my expectations! Brilliant! If I think too long about what I ate at Baieta I will get hungry ...The staff was very friendly, professional and spoke English. The restaurant itself looked beautiful and is located at a great location, very close to the Seine river. Inside it was very classy, a nice ambiance and comfortable seating. I highly recommend this place to anyone!
Be the first to Replytl;dr: upscale, gastronomic, mixed bag food, priceyi wanted
tl;dr: upscale, gastronomic, mixed bag food, priceyi wanted to like baieta very much. we made a reservation a few weeks ahead of time. when we called, the staff were helpful and told us they would be able to accomodate a vegetarian in our party for a tasting menu. when we arrived, one of our party was running late. we were seated immediately and the staff was very accommodating as we were essentially an hour late. when the last of our party arrived, we explained the vegetarian accomodation and began our tasting. we began with a small bite. the best way i can describe it is an undersalted potato kugel. there was an olive on top, but miraculously, it didn't taste of anything.the next course was a falafel with raw sliced fish and tabbouleh. the fish was excellent as was the tabbouleh but the falafel was awful. bland, dense, and cold. i don't expect any in the kitchen have ever been to the middle east but this was embarassing.the next course was a egg yolk encased in a fried crust with fish. the dish was overly smoked, oversalted, and oily. the yolk was very rich and completely overpowered everything else.the rest of the meal was baffling - perfectly cooked food. nothing incredible but straightforward (bouillabaisse, slow cooked beef, etc.) and delicious. it was surprising the same kitchen made the first half and the second half of our meal.i wanted to like baieta but it doesn't seem like someone is looking after things in the kitchen. for 85€ in paris, you have much better options. i hope they turn things around for michelin season. i'm baffled they got the first, but maybe things will be different later in the year.
Be the first to ReplyWe came here for lunch on our first full day in Paris.
I was feeling under the weather so I ordered an entree but my husband ordered their lunch special which was a huge steal for 4 courses. The decor is really nice although if it were busy we would be sitting very close to other diners. The food was good and felt very homey/comforting. Oddly, they only had one server for the entire place. At times, there was a long wait between entrees. She did a great job though. She never skipped a beat. For a Michelin star restaurant I would expect at least two servers. Overall, a great meal. Not sure if I would return as there are so many other amazing restaurants in Paris. If I am returning, will order their lunch special.

Meh. For one Michelin star, the food and service should range from "excellent" to "incredible", and this just hit good to poor. Service was faster than others have indicated, and friendly. I suspect they were unexpectedly slammed by a couple of large groups, as one waitress came in well after service had started. Once the restaurant was full, service did slow down somewhat. Ambience was acceptable, but not excellent. Air con was not running; even though it was cool outside, it was quite warm inside. Food: this was the biggest disappointment. Starters were good if uninspiring. The duck breast main was good, although we found it odd that it was offered to be cooked medium-well, which would have made it a good shoe sole. Why would a Michelin-starred chef offer that? The "bouillabaieta", the house take on bouillabaisse, was the biggest letdown. It was all white fish, no shellfish at all. The fish was a little tough. Worst, the broth/soup, which the chef seemed to be trying to make creamy, was marred by the taste of undissolved flour. It was lacking spice except for a little black pepper. Not pleasant. We skipped dessert. No need to try them again as there are so many excellent restaurants in Paris.
Be the first to ReplyOk I have a story for you here.
...The day before we visited Baieta we had lunch at Guy Savoy, needless to say the artful presentation at this restaurant was outstanding, and so was the bill! Now the next night we have dinner at Baieta and we are just amazed at the taste, flavors and attentive service. All three dishes we enjoyed would have been the stars of the show at many restaurants. And at the end, The check was 1 / 10th of Savoy. I would not change either of the meals but there is something to be learned here :) My daughters pork was perfect rendered and so flavorful. My signature dish ( Bouillabaissebaieta) was outstanding. And my wife's smoked chicken equally flavorful and lightly smoked.

Excellent meal in Paris, but knocking off a star for service. To be honest, if you're on the Michelin guide, I expect some anticipation of American dining customs and/or better-than-expected service so my experience was a bit bizarre. I think we waited ~20 min to order while other folks around us who spoke French were immediately attended to.However, the food was incredible enough to overshadow the customer service blip. Opted for their lunch menu, which was 29 euros - definitely a great value for the sheer quality and technique displayed in the food. In addition to the courses (salad, appetizer, and a fish entree!), they also served us amazing bread and butter along with onion foccacia and a soup. The wine list here is also incredible, I'd highly recommend taking asking your server their recommendations based on what you're planning to order.
Be the first to ReplyBaieta was a fantastic experience from start to finish.
The staff was extremely welcoming and attentive (even with the restaurant being completely full). I was blown away by the presentation of every item that we ordered, and the food itself was incredible.
Be the first to ReplyMy absolute favorite meal in Paris.
Everything about Baieta is stunning: the decor, the service, and of course the food. We came for lunch and were all very impressed with the airy atmosphere and the light, flavorful food. I had the chicken and it was cooked to perfection and came with a terrine toast that was out of this world. I give this place my highest recommendation!

This is an excellent place to get a masterfully created and delicious meal. The flavors are interesting, complex and subtle and the entire staff is warm and welcoming. A great place for a meal of fine cuisine in a friendly and relaxed environment.
Be the first to ReplyAfter a week of too many heavy, rich meals at French
After a week of too many heavy, rich meals at French bistros, this meal was a perfect counterpoint and everything I wished for--bright, inventive, delicious, fresh. We went for lunch on a Saturday and delighted in the airy, modern space and friendly service. We opted for two starters and two main courses: first, haddock with crispy egg, boiled octopus with gnocchi and sweet potato chips. My husband got the sea bass with leeks and green curry and I got the bouillabaieta (Chef Julia's take on the classic dish from her hometown, Nice). The bouillabaieta soup was creamy and delicious (despite not having any cream in it, just seafood stock), with a purée of potatoes at the bottom, generous chunks of fish. The sea bass was so delicately tender, the leek confit rich and earthy, with salty bits of sea asparagus thrown in for good measure. The starters were equally inventive, well balanced and just tasty. Will definitely come back f we are in Paris!
