Bellota San Francisco Reviews from The Last Year
Went for Dinner Food - 4/5.
Bravas had a good crunch and were seasoned well. I was disappointed that the sauces were quiet standard and the overall dish barely differentiated itself from regular french fries. Tortilla was smooth with bits of soft potato. The crisped Brussels were great at giving it texture and some flavor as well since the tortilla itself was on the bland side. Pulpo was great having a tender bite and avoiding any kind of rubbery mouthfeel. It had good seasoning and the bits of char gave it extra flavor. Pescado had the iconic firm fish texture and the generous amounts of mojo rojo gave it a creamy and smoky flavor. The coco bread was a great accompaniment and the pickled onions acted as a nice palate cleanser. Both paella flavors were excellent with their own distinct taste. Lechon was rich and hearty from the pork and root vegetables. Mariscos was elegant and light from the fresh seafood and peppers. Rice really soaked up the flavors of each and formed a nice crust at the bottom. Service - 4/5. Professional and courteous service befitting a fine dining establishment. Value - 2/5. The price tag really made you ask yourself "it was good, but was it many dollars good?" to which I would say it goes from varies to no. The tapas were the worst offenders as the all vegetable tortilla was a whopping $26; definitely not worth it. Bravas being $18 and being so simplistic also gave me buyer's remorse and for $26, the pulpo was too small. While on the expensive side, the $48 pescado and $68 paella was at least a delicious experience with good portion sizes. I understand that prices reflect the area, but this was too much. A Spanish restaurant located in SoMa, conveniently located
A Spanish restaurant located in SoMa, conveniently located near all the bars. It's actually in airbnbs HQ do you get glimpses of their super nice office! Highlights: bravas: these are actually divine definitely the highlight of the entire meal- perfectly crispy and it's dipped in the same sauce as the paella mamacita: it's a tropical cold brew cocktail so you get the sweetness from a marg but then the coffee of an espresso martini yum Our table also got two salads (both I personally can pass on) and the paella (the pork belly one is pretty good kinda like an adobo dish but there wasn't much char from a traditional paella dish that I like) All and all a great place for tapas & girls night- personally would stick to appetizers instead of a big meal
Absolutely delicious and loved attention to detail service.
I'm pretty down to earth but it's nice when there is a difference made and service and quality.

Came here for a corporate team dinner and it was a great experience!! We ended up ordering a huge amount of food and had so many leftovers but the food was great. Would say the paella could have some more flavor especially the seafood one but the other tapas were great :)
Came here for a Valentine's Day dinner and had a great time.
We had a reservation and were seated immediately. The food was not only delicious, but also had amazing presentation. The live music added a nice touch to the overall vibe of the restaurant as well. We ordered the bravas and the lechon and mariscos paella. The potatoes in the bravas dish were delightfully crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside and the perfect shared plate to munch on while we were waiting for the paella to come. Both paella dishes were beautiful and tasty; I loved the variety of the seafood on the mariscos and how tender the pork was on the lechon dish. The dinner was a bit on the pricier side, but I'd say it was worth it for a special date night. Overall great meal and great experience!

Discovered an almost $700 charge on my credit card when NEVER there. Awaiting a call from someone from the restaurant to address their corrective action. A police report has been filed. Unbelievably upsetting.
Gorgeous interior but imo best bar/lounge in SF.
Sat at bar and caught up w an old friend. Nice buzz on a Wednesday night. 2 burgers couple cocktails each and dessert. Really glad they updated the menu and especially happy they added a delicious signature burger w a blend of Iberico pork and beef. Friendly pro service.
I used to love everything I had from here but the Setas
I used to love everything I had from here but the Setas paella was not great. Rice was not throughly cooked, and the radish did not seem to go well with the rest of ingredients.
I'd purchase a gallon of the pomegranate caramel that came
I'd purchase a gallon of the pomegranate caramel that came with the flan de naranja, and that's about the only memorable thing from this evening. The food at Bellota is not bad by any means, but it certainly doesn't taste like it's from Spain (source: I grew up in Spain). The prices attached to the menu items are also nowhere near those you'd be paying for paella in Spain. I'm definitely feeling underwhelmed with a dinner that consisted of 4 items that I spent $200+ on. We ordered the bravas and coliflor, both of which tasted good but nothing to write home about. The sauce underneath the coliflor tasted very acidic which was unexpected for a creamy sauce. Not my favorite. For our main, we shared the paella de setas which also didn't taste like any vegetarian paella I've ever had and ended up being the priciest item of the evening. Again, it wasn't bad but if I was to come back, I wouldn't reorder it. The best item we had tonight was the flan. I'm normally not a fan of flan because of its jello-like texture, but this was really firm and tasted almost like a cheesecake. Also, as mentioned, the pomegranate caramel was a 10/10. Service was good - not very friendly but not bad at all. Ambiance was stellar; the restaurant is located in a gorgeous and very artsy space and the live music was a nice touch. Don't know if I'll necessarily be back but I'm glad I tried it out!
This is Bellota which means acorn in Spanish .
The name is derived from the acorn feed they feed the pigs . There were no acorns in the menu. Sorry squirrels . Located near mission bay adjacent to REI, indulge in the flavors of Spain at Bellota. Pair their innovative paella or medium sized tapas with their hand-crafted cocktails . Here are some food we tried : 1 . Croqueta- jamón-&-green garlic croqueta, pickled ramp, green garlic salsa 2 . Pan- toasted, Spanish-style bread, tomate fresco, garlic olive oil 3 . Paella costilla - paella of pimenton-braised short rib, gypsy pepper, cherry tomato, romano bean, torpedo onion https://www.instagram.com/reel/CwCIN6LKHi_/?igsh=ZDE1MWVjZGVmZQ==
small bites and beef
The food was top notch and the had live music in the bar area - went on a weeknight and they seem to wrap up early
UNQUALIFIED
I never thought I would ever go through a situation like this. We have been to several countries around the world, including several cities in the United States, and I have never felt as offended as I did today in this restaurant. After paying more than 150 dollars for a burnt paella and a sangria that only had alcohol, especially because I had to ask for honey to sweeten it, we decided not to leave any tip. we paid more than 15% in taxes on the meal. We were already outside waiting for the Uber to the hotel when we were, in a completely ridiculous and absurd way, approached by the employee asking us for a tip. It was even inconvenient to force us to tip. He said we had to tip because he lived in San Francisco and had bills to pay. what?????? We obviously didn't and this type of attitude, whether or not it is in everyday culture, is unacceptable. zero zero but zero elegance and quality. Obviously I won't be back and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone
Love the place / food/ Wines!
That was a huge experience in SF! Nice place, Crazy food and amazing wine menue! You will find your pleasure! Love the place! PS: try this spanish red wine « Mauro » ;)
Excellent, authentic Spanish food
We had not been back to Bellota since the Covid restriction days. What a pleasure to sit inside this beautiful space and enjoy absolutely delicious food. The cocktails and tapas were all excellent. The paella was great and more than enough for the 4 of us to share, Our server was terrific. And the sommelier was extremely helpful in advising about the extensive wine list. We're all eager to return for another great meal.

Good question. Currently the bidder will have to include the prepaid dinner price plus bid to secure the reservation. AT is currently working on an upcoming release where the prepaid amount and the bid amount are two separate transactions. Happy Bidding!
