I'm Persian and I have to say not good Taste food!!!!!(soooooo far from original perisan food)
I'm Persian(Iranian) and I live in Paris(France), I got Koobideh Kabab and the taste was completely different from original Koobideh!, Absolutely is not original Koobideh and I didn't like the taste, the taste is completly different and so far from original persian Koobideh(I tried the best Koobideh in north of Iran, in Orumieh, Tabriz, Ardebil, aslo in Tehran), the koobideh was so oily and so fatty, the oil I'm not sure If It was butter, I think they used another kind of oil, the Koobideh was yellow color inside of the meat! I asked the waiter what is It inside? Is It turmeric and he told me no!, and he told me we don't use any spice inside of the meat!, but I didn't understand the yellow color comes from Where!?, I'm sure It wasn't safron spice because the safron taste is different, however the Sangak bread under the Koobideh was beautiful but again the taste was soooo far from original one!, I have to say they have good decoration restaurant, good design for food(It's look like Koobideh and Sangak), but the taste is completly far from any original recipie and I didn't like It! and I was surprise for which reason in Michelin guid they put Persian food(Koobideh is nostalgic and important food in Iran, when the restaurant can't make It as original taste, for me It means It's not persian food ), the foods only look like persian food!, the quality of the meat was normal(not bad and not high quality), my point for design is 4/5, the design food also 4/5, the taste of Koobideh 0/5, so my total point is 2/5! and I don't advice this restaurant to any one for different tate compare of original persian food!

We ate here last night and it was great. Our daughters bought us a voucher for Christmas which included a special menu which enabled us to try several different starters and a chicken kebab. The hummus and aubergine dip was my favourite and accompanied by two types of bread which were freshly cooked. The chicken kebabs were beautifully cooked and really tender. The service was excellent with really helpful staff. We sat at the high table which was no issue as it meant we could watch the chefs cook. My only gripe is the 12% service charge, we are making up the wages of the staff!

Incredible service, knowledgeable staff. Food was an absolute 10/10 - the best flavours and the hummus is absolute insane and the atmosphere was great too. A must visit!

Absolutely delighted with my dining experience at Berenjak in Soho! The Lebanese cuisine was exquisite, boasting a perfect blend of flavors and authentic dishes. The ambiance was cozy, and the service was top-notch. A must-visit for anyone craving the finest Lebanese culinary delights in the heart of Soho!

Staff were attentive but relaxed which made for a nice atmosphere. Food was good. Maybe the Michelin rating swayed us but it was a good experience not exceptional. Worth a visit but do read the reviews.
Be the first to ReplyBusy, Dark, Fine Kebab
I got a solo table for an hour last Friday. Always interesting how solos are treated. I specifically asked for the counter but got a table instead. It was dark, real dark inside. I had to turn my phone light on to see the menu, eventually I asked the waitress to recommend. (I had imbibed a tad during the wait) The bread was delicious, crunchy and lovely, and the hummus and aubergine and egg dips were divine. I have to say the kebab was good but not other worldly, perfectly cooked and pleasant. Time was up and I was gone, 2 glasses of house red and the above for £50. Not bad.
Be the first to ReplyBest kababs in London
I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because the place is very uncomfortable and staff are not very professional. Its not a traditional Persian restaurant but the excel in some of their dishes. The grilled kababs are by far the best in London especially the chicken with bones and the koubideh. The starters are mostly good except the hummus which should not even be on menu, The bread cooked in the restaurants tandoor is not good but the sangak bread is very good. Stews are not good at all and rice is below average. I would suggest some starters, Grills and sangak bread only.

I read good things about this place and struggled to get a booking so turned up just after 13:00 on a weekday to be told they were fully booked all day and they'd take my number and text me if anything came up. An hour later I returned and although still really busy the staff accommodated my friend and I at the counter. The staff were really friendly and helpful and the food came quick enough and was the usual stuff you'd expect from a middle eastern establishment and full of flavour but, being charged £15 extra for choosing the lamb option on the set menu meant despite tasting great was never going to meet the expectation of such an inflated price and the texture of the chicken was way off my liking and I suspected marinated then frozen as it was like eating play doh (but with some spices) the digital bill was easy enough to pay but no alternative option was given and incurred an additional (all be it small) processing charge. In summary, food was alright, price was too high and there's plenty of other places to get more bang for your buck.

A wonderful experience - one of my most memorable meals in London. The restaurant is dark and quite noisy but I thought that added to the ambience. The service was excellent. I'd thoroughly recommend the restaurant and hope to return in the future.
Be the first to ReplyDelicious cuisine with amazing service
The whole experience was amazing! The food was delicious, great and fast service and the overall place looked really nice. The menu is great as it's not too long so you don't spend too long deciding and we had a great service that gave us great recommendations. The place is a bit smaller and when it understandably gets busier might be a bit crowded. Make sure to book in advance so that you don't have to wait. In conclusion, this is a must-visit!
Be the first to ReplyGood food, poor service & overpriced
Good food but no better than other Persian restaurants, nothing especially unique about it. On top of that, you’re paying almost double for smaller portions, cramped space, and rushed service. Main course was brought out whilst we were still finishing our starters, and as soon as we finished dessert asked if we wanted the bill whilst clearing table. A bit rude, no? Especially not expected of Michelin star. We were only there for an hour and you have booking for 1.5 hours so not sure why they were desperate to get us out the door. Save your money and choose another one of numerous restaurants in London.
Be the first to ReplyTerrible service and communication
Terrible service - I went for a birthday meal and without asking they brought out a cake at the end of the meal and then charged us on the bill. I have been trying to email and call them since June last year to issue a refund after they said they would and no one is dealing with it. Would not recommend.
Be the first to ReplyFood is out of this world, but the service lets the whole place down
We dined in the resteraunt yesterday. Overall from start to finish me and my friend felt rushed the entire dinner. the waiter was helpful in explaining the dishes but we felt pressured in ordering our mains at the same time as our starter because he said it would take a while. We ended up placing our order, and midway through eating our starter our main came out, the table was so tiny there was no space to fit our dishes so we had to send it back and a new fresh order came out when we were ready. Also they told us the main would just be going in the bin which i was really shocked by and hoped that would not be the case. we were then told a few times they needed the table back midway through our meal and that we would be relocated. overall the food was the best ive ever tasted but i didnt feel relaxed at all, and it wasnt an enjoyable atmosphere. Judging by the reviews it appears there are same comments so i truly hope that the resteraunt does something about this.
Be the first to ReplyAbsolutely bad
Is second time we order food and the don’t send food and the don’t replay the email externally bad service and the didn’t refund the money back also and the have also no phone number
Be the first to ReplyHygenie not a priority - starters good, mains my last review was deleted
Starters were really good, mains were dissapointing, but hygiene was not good. When a member of staff blows their nose in a restaurant and over crockery and then doesn’t wash hands and touches food and cutlery it’s not great especially with so many virus atm and vivid. The restaurant called me to ask about this and said it wasn’t acceptable a d apologised, and that staff were asked to follow hygiene protocols, but we didn’t good hygiene as above this on our visit. Not sure why my prior post several days ago was deleted???

If I’m completely honest I could’ve had a better night at my local Persian restaurant that wouldn’t make me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. The food is frankly average, as far as Persian food goes Berenjak is fair decent. The restaurants menu is clear and the food is just like any other Persian food. The problems arise when you’re speaking to the waiting staff. Some of them (male front of house gentlemen) are incredibly abrasive and rude. The Persian and Middle Eastern culture is all about big gestures, making guests feel welcome going above and beyond for guests. This is something we have be brought up with however, this restaurant does the complete opposite. The particular gentlemen serving us, was rude when we were ordering, unforgiving when we took time ordering and took the menus away at a certain point not offering us dessert as he knew we’d take our time eating it. It is unfortunate that this was my experience, considering Berenjak has been highly regarded for its food. However, I found my experience was off putting and I will ensure I make my opinion known; reason being social media can foul people on restaurants which was the case yesterday.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent food, poor experience
The tables for two here are tiny. We ate our meal from plates smaller than side plates. There was not enough space for the food on the table and we had to use the bench I was sat on to house half of the contents. Service was well meaning but questionable. My partner’s chair was knocked at least 15 times, because the area had too many tables for the servers and guests to pass. At £95 without alcohol, the price tag here is far more than the experience justified. The food itself was excellent.
Be the first to ReplyLovely food, questionable service
Good food, but the service lets the place down. Our waiter encouraged us to book some of the more popular plates, which is fine, but he started writing things down without us even saying okay. I felt like we had ordered way too much but was assured it sounded right for four people. The food was delicious, can't rate it higher. However the poussin never came, even after chasing up twice, and nor did one of the salads. It didn't matter too much though because, as initially feared, there was too much food even with twonplayes missing (which they obviously apologised for and took off the bill). Also under time constraints - they turn the tables relatively quickly (1hr45). Lovely food, ambience and decor great, service staff perhaps spread too thin to do a great job.

Wow - so authentic we could have been in Persian cafe Great atmosphere with some fabulous service and delicious food - don’t hesitate - let the staff choose - the starters are so flavoursome and the various kebabs gorgeous……. Go gentle with the wine - it can’t quite keep up with the quality of the food or the friendliness of the service!
Be the first to ReplySuper Turkish food in the middle of soho
Superb find in soho. Unpretentious with fabulous staff and fantastic Turkish food. Super portions of great food made with attention to detail.
Be the first to ReplyOverpriced and rushed experience serving 2/3 pints
Wait staff were friendly but made us feel really rushed, reminding us that we only had a booking for 1hr 30min so we should order quickly and kept checking if we’d decided every minute. Starters very small and overpriced, paying £7 for essentially 3 raw radishes, mint leaves and a slither of feta. The beers were also only 2/3 of a pint for the price of a full pint which was off putting. The kebabs were tasty particularly the saffron chicken and the lamb rump and the potatoes. Overall overpriced for what we ate and left the dinner feeling a bit hungry and dissatisfied after hearing good things about this restaurant.
Be the first to ReplyNice food but
The humous was great. The kebabs OK. Marvelous rice. Interesting wine menu. Excellent service But. Hated the room . Small. Cramped. Loud music. So dark I had to use my phone to even see the menu. OK I'm older but this isn't a cheap place. It's street food in a squahed seat at expensive Soho prices. Disappointed.

Absolutely amazing food, incredible service - We have never get so welcomed in a restaurant before, the servers and chef were so attentive and were even generous enough to add extra dishes free of charge - overall a wonderful experience, would highly recommend to all. The tastes were different and tantalising, the ambience was intimate and the service impeccable. See you again SOON berenjak and thank you for making our evening so special!
