Order the crispy potatoes
The Bermondsey Larder surprised us with the fantastic taste of the food and the brilliant hospitality. Perhaps it is because the decor doesn’t insinuate a brilliant dining experience… to the contrary, we had a fantastic dinner with friend. We particularly recommend the crispy potatoes! Yum!

Impeccable service and food. The taster menu is sublime with awesome originality ingredients, prep, cooking and presentation. I don’t know what the chefs are up to but some kind of wizardry is at play with how they transform staple ingredients into an alchemy of flavours and textures. The staff are super enthusiastic and energetic, the whole place buzzes with excitement adding to the experience. Considering the quantity we ate the menu was great value and the natural wines on offer added yet more originality and fun to the evening.
Be the first to ReplyGood food, slow service
Overall the food was of a good quality and I’d rate the experience 3.5/5. The best dishes were the plaice, the beets and the beef tartare. Some of the other dishes lacked flavour - the courgette flower, the pork. Portions were small for the price and service was extremely slow.

Amazing - please continue what you do. This was my second visit and I it was as great as the 1st. Attentive team @ front of house - thank you The food is delicious - what a find and I will return for more of the same

Amazing food and service. Fresh and tasty , great vegetarian choices and nice space. Seasonal produce and knowledgable staff - good wine list
Be the first to ReplyGreat staff, far overpriced food for microscopic portions
I've been asked to leave a review, so here are my 2 pence: Ambience was great, staff were superb, I mean it, they were great, but guys you seriously need to review your portions-size policy. I understand you need to make a margin, nothing wrong with that, but portion were ridiculously small and far overpriced given the size. I would aspect that from a Michelin star restaurant, which you're not. Food was really good but definitely not worth the price, even for London, the size-price ratio is simply unacceptable. I'm no new to fine dining and what comes with it, but to put it bluntly what you do is nothing more than squeezing money out of customers. After having a costly full lunch at yours, myself and my party ended up having right away another full meal in a different restaurant. P.S. Please don't call your dessert "for two" (and charge as much) when really it's something smaller than the palm of my hand. Seriosuly this is bad.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent experience
Arriving at 7pm the place was empty but by 8pm it was pumping. We took the set menu with matching wines and it was no hassle to substitute the lamb with sweet breads. Both our waiters were excellent explaining the dishes and wines. This restaurant was a great find!

Outstanding menu food service and ambiance great way to spend a Sunday afternoon live music was an added bonus knowledgeable friendly staff
Be the first to ReplyThe food was excellent, the staff even better
The food was imaginative and excellent. It's hard to pick one item out but if I had to it would be the pollock dish. Beautifully presented and the flavours complemented each other perfectly
The accompanying wines for the tasting menu were well matched and were each unusual and interesting. They had searched out small producers whose wines were from areas and from grapes oy do not ofeten come across
The staff were attentive, courteous, knowledgable and friendly
Inventive and delicious food - one of our favourite places
We’ve dined at Bermondsey Larder three times in the past year and it’s consistently some of the best food we’ve eaten in London. Their dishes are always creative and beautifully presented, but most importantly are just really tasty. And at a price point that is really very good value as well.
The wine list and wider drinks menu is also very on point and pretty keenly priced. We’ve always had really nice wines for under £30 a bottle.
The service is also extremely friendly and this really adds to the experience. Waiting staff and bar staff are always very happy to talk everything through and really know their stuff.
Although the location may seem a bit incongruous it’s actually a really nice space, part of a wider hotel/housing development. It’s never felt to intensely full or loud when we’ve been there, but at the same time there’s always a good atmosphere and vibe. There’s outside seating with heaters in the summer which is also a bonus.
We were too engrossed in the food to take photos - maybe next time!
Fabulous food and service
Everything about our visit was perfect. The steak (sirloin not bavette) was perfectly cooked - they prefer to cook it medium rare, and the starter of toasted sourdough with Baron Bigod, walnuts and local honey was fantastic. Good selection of local beers, and the service was faultless. let's hope the Larder survives - it deserves to after the Dairy problem. Highly recommended.
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful Taster Menu with equally lovely wines
I made an impromptu visit and was welcomed by the lovely Bruna at the bar and was promptly seated. The amazing Alessandra who is the General Manager and expert sommelier along with the equally knowledgeable and very polite Lewis guided me through the wonderful 5 course taster menu with the most brilliantly paired wines - all very refreshing and unique. Allesandra's passion for the various wines was extraordinary as she outlined the various bio dynamic ones in addition to each vineyard's ethos and production processes. Anoushka joined later and presented the very delicious dessert with the pairing dessert wine. Again very knowledgeable and welcoming as the whole crew. Lovely feel good restaurant and nothing was too much trouble for them. Thank you Bermondsey Larder. I'll certainly be back..probably next time for one of Allessandra's wine tasting monthly classes ! 😊.
Be the first to ReplyFabulous meal for the senses and warm and thoughtful service
We ate this evening for the first time at the Bermondsey Larder. It is a stylish restaurant and the food is delicious and different, without being fussy or trendy. Decent sized portions unlike some restaurants where you can still be hungry at the end of the meal, but attractively presented with surprising flavour combinations.
Lance, who served us was knowledgeable about the food, warm and friendly.
We live locally and will certainly return and recommend it to our friends.
Just wanted a coffee - how difficult is that!
Despite being metres away form very many popular coffee shops, this place seems to be completely unaware of how to serve coffee. For a flat white or an americano we were offered either an old fashioned bone china teacup or a handless small beaker - neither of which were suitable. Staff were not helpful - other than to suggest if this wasn't appropriate then 'we could offer a drinking glass' for the coffee! Incredible - no wonder they were virtually empty on such a popular day.
Be the first to ReplyLaid back vibe with a quality offering
Although I live only minutes walk away the Bermondsey Larder is still quite tricky to find located as it is down a walkway connecting Tower Bridge Road and Bermondsey street but search it out - its glorious. Beautifully designed and looking 'precise' but with a welcoming casual vibe that belies the attention to detail that the menu delivers. A good mix of meat free options as standard but also a steak tartare that was simply corking. My favourite item on the menu was a cocktail - the ginger daquiri was new to me properly zingy and a sensation
Be the first to ReplyBest meal out in London for ages
Few reviews yet, of course this is due to covid - it curtailed many businesses this year including this one - which was The Dairy in Clapham (much loved) and now reborn under an apart hotel near Tower Bridge, close to the Bridge Theatre. Amazing tasting menu for under £50 - a real bargain. Several starter dips with bread, salad, fish main (pollock), meat main (venison) and a pre dessert and proper dessert.
Excellent friendly but super efficient service - from knowledgeable enthusiastic servers. Cannot praise them highly enough.
Comfortable surroundings with pleasant buzz, not too loud music, light and airy. Felt safe from the distancing point of view. Can imagine this place is going to be very popular, very soon, and frankly it is on the Michelen radar is a recommend. We feel it matches the one star michelin criteria - having dined at a couple this year.
Well done all.
Superb service & food quality.
From being greeted to leaving time this is a first class restaurant - deserving of a Michelin star. Every single member of the staff was friendly, efficient & professional. Superb value for money tasting menu at just under £50 including several starter courses with bread, one salad, main fish (pollock) , one meat which was venison, a pre dessert & dessert itself. Served at the right pace to appreciate the lovely ambience of an airy venue surrounded by window views & lots of plants. Music and chatter at pleasant volumes to enjoy conversation.
Only replacing some of the stylish (but slightly hard) wooden seating would improve this setting, comfort level. Cannot fault anything else at all. Slightly off the Bermondsey Street beaten track. 10 mins walk from London Bridge Station. Less than that to the nearby Bridge Theatre.
Don't miss. It's going to be very popular, very soon.
Delicious meal
We had the tasting menu and matched wine and it was delicious. The smoked aubergine dip was outstanding, as well as beef main course with black garlic sauce-I licked my plate. We thought it was really good value for the quality of the food. The staff were very friendly and a very knowledgable sommelier. One is the best meals I have had in a long time.
