Amazing short rib
Always a fan of anything involving Jason Atherton and tbe menu here was a good as other ventures. The short rib is fantatsic, perfectly soft meat which breaks apart. The baked alaska should perhaps be a bit bigger as its a sharing but really its a single portion. Staff were friendly and attentive and the setting with high ceilings, amazing

This restaurant has a nice, classic decor and an impressive wine list. However, service was very slow and the meal was average at best. Further, it took the waiter almost twenty minutes just to take our order for drinks and another twenty to thirty minutes to take our meal order. We noticed that the manager and the head waiter were more interested in attending the VIP couple sitting next to our table to the point where the manager sat almost next to us to speak with the other couple. It was rude and unpleasant for us.
Be the first to ReplyA gem in Soho
I had dinner at this splendid restaurant on the occasion of my birthday. The room is enchanting and evocative, ideal not only for dinners as a couple (the furnishings make the atmosphere very romantic), but also for dinners with friends. The cost is high (this was to be expected in Soho anyway), but the food is absolutely up to par and fully met all our expectations, both from an aesthetic point of view (all the dishes were well presented) and in terms of taste. and quality of ingredients. A special mention goes to Shakira, who, with her attention and kindness, made my thirtieth birthday celebration special. I recommend it and will definitely return.

Absolutely shocking service, we had our reservation for 8pm and the table wasn't ready. We decided to get a few drinks at the bad. No seating at the bar. We stood while we had drinks until our table was ready. We got seated and placed our orders, two of our mains were out of stock so we picked alternatives. An hour passed and we weren't even served our starter so we decided to leave.

Visited the Edition London for drinks and noticed the restaurant. The hostess organised a table for me and I had a very enjoyable dinner. Great service by both the Sommelier and the service personnel, who were knowledgeable and friendly. The food was good even so the shrimp cocktail was a little too small for my taste. But overall an enjoyable meal thus on the more expensive side.
Be the first to ReplyNot up to par for the rating
Sunday February 25th table for two, I think our server had no less than 10 tables, needless to say, service was poor to say the least. Not sure why you would staff such a lovely restaurant so poorly, certainly wasn’t worth the money, no one filled up water classes, empty plates sat and took long to be cleared, no follow up on meals served. There were more staff in the bar than the restaurant. I wouldn’t bother to return. If you are short staffed, tell me before you seat me, then I can make decision on whether to spend 200 pounds on a poor experience, would have preferred a beer and pizza in the Hotel bar, and spent much less and had far better service.

The waiting time was very long. We ordered drinks but we did not get them. We asked twice but nothing. We asked the menu for the dessert instead we were given the list of apetizers. We requested our coat but twice we got them wrong. The place is very cool, the meat was very good but Im afraid to say that the attention to customers is very weak.
Be the first to ReplyIncredible experience
We visited London today with the intention of finding somewhere to celebrate my friends birthday, we came across their Berners Tavern which is a hidden gem within the edition hotel. We were pleasantly greeted and were seated at the most beautiful table, where we were served by a gentleman called Byron who put our minds at ease with his incredible recommendations and unforgettable cocktail expertise, he was overall amazing and definitely made our experience comfortable and enjoyable. We will 100% be returning and hopefully will come across the kind faces we saw today.
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful dining setting
This restaurant in next door to the five stars hotel Edition, we had a drink at the bar and then enter the amazing full room in an amazing setting that simply must be seen. By the way, food is great too...
Be the first to ReplyI like it, I'll be back
It's been on my list of places I wanted to go for a while now. I wasn't disappointed, it's a nice venue, the food is good and the service very prompt and attentive. It's nicely done British style food. The wine list is extensive and not as grasping as some similar London venues. The only thing that slightly spoiled things is that the light is very low (at 7pm) and we both had to use the light on my iPhones to read the menu (we saw other people doing the same). Also, the delicious baked Alaska is supposedly for 2 people - no it's not big enough, order one each!
Be the first to ReplyFantastic atmosphere and exceptional service
This is an absolutely fantastic place! From the architecture to the atmosphere and of course the food. We had the fillet steak and risotto with a perfectly paired bottle of pinot Noir from Oregon - a great recommendation from the sommelier Ricardo🍷👌 This will be one of our go to places the next time we are in the area. Highly recommended.

What an amazing restaurant. The food is sublime and the service is incredible. Warm and friendly. The ambience, fantastic lighting and great atmosphere make this an all round winner. You won't be disappointed.
Be the first to ReplySadly not up to scratch
As a family, the highlight, for the past many years, of our Christmas has been dinner at Berners Tavern. Unfortunately this year for the first time, we experienced below par service which has been excellent in the past. This wasn't helped by being given possibly the worst table, two feet from the maitre d desk, where three staff chatted most of the evening (they might as well have joined us at the table). Having to ask our waiter several times for drinks didn't impress. Sadly, Berners needs to rediscover their USP.
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful restaurant, Aggressive service
We visited Berner's Tavern and were immediately impressed by the beautiful interior. As soon as we sat down, however, we were immediately pressed to order wine, which we did but the servers kept returning, interrupting our dinner with friends, to push expensive wines on us when the first one wasn't even done and the meal has not even been ordered. Food was ok, but way overpriced for what we got and nothing to write home about. Our biggest complaint is the extremely aggressive pushing of wine/alcohol, driving up our bill more than double spent on other gorgeous London restaurants.
Be the first to ReplyExquisite service
Berners Tavern can only give you the best vibe and experience. I would like to Thank the whole team for the best attention to details and excellent service. Especially Elizabeth (Head Receptionist) at restaurant's reception who was very welcoming, and Nicola (Floor Supervisor) who provided exquisite service for our whole dining experience. Of course, I couldn't forget to mention Ewa (Assistant Head Housekeeper), who helped to arrange our reservation. Combination of the Mac & Cheese, Ribeye steak and the Alaska dessert was what we had and totally recommend all the dishes.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing room
I was here for a business lunch but was absolutely bowled over by the room; the scale of the place, the decor and the way the space had been utilised were all really impressive. Surprisingly, it was almost empty on a Friday lunchtime. We shared a very well-sourced plate of British cured meats with pickles and sourdough that went perfectly with our wine, a Primosic Refosco 2018 from North-East Italy. The standout dish was a starter of beetroot-cured Loch Duart salmon with yuzu puree, radish and Japanese dressing. My main course was mac & cheese with poached lobster - excellent, but the portion control on the lobster was a little stringent given the prices and the style of the place. I quite liked my Earl Grey tea & orange eclair with burnt orange ice cream, but suffered pudding envy when I saw my host's rum baba Mount Blanc. Service was friendly and enthusiastic with good guidance on the lengthy wine list. I thought that the wine prices were a little more forgiving than those asked at Pollen St Social a few months ago.

As others have mentioned, this place is beautiful. You really can’t set a better scene for your London dinner even if you were in movie! The food was very good. I enjoyed a rib eye steak with peppercorn sauce and my wife a fillet. Both were very good as to be expected. Have I ever had better? Yes, but it was on par with other upscale restaurants. The service was excellent. There were servers that seemed to specialize in each course! I really enjoyed my experience there. Highly recommended! Tip: I made reservations well in advance of our trip to London. Make sure to do that for any upscale restaurant in London. I wouldn’t leave it to chance.

Service and ambience is super. The historical restaurant room set is above expectations. The menu seemed quite promising but the result was average. I had the Dover sole and burned butter covered totally the fish flavour. The Chateaubriand and the mushroom sauce was much better but still below Jason Atherton’s expectation standards . Paillard chicken was ok and the salad accompanied was very suitable . We loved the wine list and the chocolate ice cream flambé with vodka.

I cannot see how anyone can give this place a bad review. Great service, great food, great location, great ambience. Could give you longer on the tables....

This is truly a great place, the food, the service, the atmosphere and the decor, which is fabulous. Been here now twice and it has become my favourite when in London. Highly recommend.

The service was impeccable, attentive, and very friendly. Service with a smile, indeed. They have nearly zero vegan options but were able to work with me. I think if they added 1-2 actual vegan menu items they would explode. I had the courgette (sp?) without the cheese and it was beautifully presented & tasted AMAZING. The ambiance is gorgeous and I truly loved dining there. Despite the highly limited options I’d definitely go back. Impressive date night place!

We are always happy to come back here when we travel to London. This time, after 3 years, has been as great as usual! We have loved everything: the meat, fries, sides and desserts and of course the wine. Special thanks to Francesco, top sommelier in London! See you soon

We went to this restaurant for dinner for the first time post-pandemic (had been before many times). The food, the service and the ambiance is still impressive and outstanding! We couldn't fault anything.

Had been planning on going here for the last three or four years but issues with other things and availability meant I only got round to visiting this week but I was highly impressed: no issues with the service: contrary to some of the other comments in here, they were attentive without being overbearing, I found them friendly and highly efficient and didn’t try to sell me things I didn’t want: I also thought the food was top notch, will try not to wait so long before going again.
