The food is delicious! I highly recommend this place if you're looking for yummy appetizers and wine! Service is great. No complaints. Get the bruschetta.... :)
Be the first to ReplyA group of 15 ladies met on Tuesday night.
The service was good. The food???? Teriyaki tenderloin was very tough and the prawns were over cooked. The ceasar salad was fabulous. Others in our group claimed their steak was over cooked and pasta barely so so. Unfortunately, we will not be back. Too bad as it could have been so much better. Overall, disappointed.
Be the first to ReplyI rarely write reviews but Bin 101 customers, take heed.
Last night's pre-show dinner was disgraceful. Amongst the 3 of us, the salmon was dry and over-cooked, the paella tasted like day old rice with a smattering of seafood and the pasta was covered with a sauce that came out of a can. As well the kitchen forgot to add the seafood. It was completely unacceptable. When we mentioned to our server she smiled, dropped the bill and spun away. Bin 101 used to be our local favourite - but never again. Local diners should instead consider Pasta Vino, Onyx or SNL for both service and quality. Bin 101 no longer cares about either.
Be the first to ReplyMy wife and I consider ourselves fans of jazz and wine bars.
In the past we typically frequented establishments in the downtown Vancouver core and were never disappointed. This past Saturday night though we wanted to choose something more local. Upon entry into the restaurant we could quickly tell it was a bustling environment. It was packed and the music was chiming away. It was great. We were seated closer to the bar yet we still could still see the piano player. My wife and I shared the crab cakes (definitely recommend) and the bruschetta. Drinks were carefully crafted and tasted excellent. To finish we had the creme brulee trio. This is a must have. Our server was Matthew and he informed me that the restaurant had undergone a lot of changes recently. After combing through Yelp I noticed a whole slew of negative reviews. Honestly, the service and the food were great so I think the changes are starting to show. Hopefully it will be better for the business. Then again it may mean I might not be able to get a seat next time!

Ok so a few things about this restaurant: Decor is cool and unique, there is a big mural painted on the wall which was actually done by a local artist I've met. The name says it all, this is a place for wine drinkers. Not being a huge drink myself it wasn't a big deal but still impressive selection. Food is share plates and tapas, quality is pretty good and service was good as well. I've heard both good and bad reviews but had a decent experience myself. 6.8/10
Be the first to ReplyWe came here for live jazz night in Wednesday.
Had a pretty good time. The tapas were tasty. The buscetta was especially good. Other meat dishes were pretty much as you would expect. We had an array of cocktails. All well made and tasty. Tony complained that they seemed a bit on the weak side. The jazz was a guy on trumpet or flute with recorded backup. He did a good job and played lots of standards. And did a pretty good Louie Armstrong imitation. Biggest problem is they closed down at 10 pm
Be the first to ReplyWe went on a Wednesday, which has Jazz live music.
The place was not packed and we were seated right away. The ambiance was good, not too dark or bright. It was a little noisy and the place is not good for meaningful conversations. The price of the tapas on the menu were on the steep side. The selection of tapas was more of a pub style rather than your Spanish tapa selection. The service was ok, the waitress got our order wrong but it was ok as she did not charge us for the incorrect food. The wine flight selection were good, however, again on the more expensive side. Overall the place was ok, will we be coming back --- not really.
Be the first to ReplyI went here with 2 of my lady friends, no men last night.
I had a reservation which I had made a week earlier and it was confirmed. I have been here many times before, NEVER AGAIN. We ordered drinks then dinner and the Chowder was very good and HOT. The rest of my meal was COLD, COLD, COLD. I was tempted to ask for it to be heated but my friends were already eating theirs and they were okay. I just ate in silence. We were having a good time and were thinking of an after dinner drink, then were told we would have to leave our booth in 10 minutes because someone was coming in 15 minutes and would need it. The booth behind us was vacant and set with cutlery and dishes and ready for occupancy. Why did we have to be told to leave. Was it because we were 3 ladies alone and we are older??? We just asked for our bills and got ready to leave. A younger couple in a table next to us said we should not have been asked to vacate the booth and even offered a seat for us. We just left angry. I have been out to my favorite coffee shop this morning and have told everyone I know there all about our terrible experience. They were shocked and said they will NOT BE GOING THERE. I told my daughter this morning and she is shocked because she really likes it and I have taken them there several times. I was so upset that I did not sleep much last night, I have been awake since 3am this morning and I am exhausted. ALL 3 OF US WILL NEVER RETURN. I HAVE ALSO MADE A REVIEW ON TRIPADVISOR WITH MY COMMENTS.
Be the first to ReplyWent in with reservations for two on busy Saturday night.
Late September and chilly evening. The hostess tried seating us at the table AT the entrance. Who puts a table there? You have to walk by the table when u enter to check in with hostess. If your table isn't ready they have a waiting area by this table. Awkward. That table needs to go. Sat at bar table instead. Service very slow. A sloth could have moved faster than our waitress. Had to flag her down 2x. Pros: Loved the wine trios. Food was great. Piano player was lovely.
