Post Valentines Day Blues
Sluggish service and mediocre food were the key ingredients to this dinner. A long time staple to Yountville with glowing reviews we were expecting more. For a small town thereโs a lot of competition for eating choices. They need to up their game to stay in the game. I had a citrus salad which could be gobbled in 3 big bites. While colorful it was minuscule compared to the price. Both the French Onion soup and beef bourguignon were ok. Wine was reasonable. Overall not very imaginative.

Even the best of the best can have an off night! Tonite was the exception. We hosted out of town friends to this fav spot. Bragged on it. But on this busy Sunday of a long weekend, the wheels came off. We enjoyed our typical apps of escargots, onion soup, and I had the special - crispy pigs feet w mustard sauce. An hour passed as we waited for what would have been our main courses: lobster risotto and chicken pie. I was starved and ordered the boeuf bourguignon. We waited for what seemed and eternity, watched other tables get their mains. As fate would have it, our server went off shift without the courtesy of letting us know of our new server. The new server walked past our empty table of four for a half hour going about her business. None of the other dozen servers working the room seemed to notice us anxiously waiting. Neither did the manager. Alas we asked the new server about our order and she confidently said it was on the โnext ticketโ. Unconvinced, I asked for the manager and we learned that our orders were not even in queue. We quietly walked out and upon apologizing to our guests, we parted ways. Thereโs enough detail here for this bistro to do the forensics of what went wrong. Just curious. Would love to hear the rest of the story. Iโll wait.

We had a lovely dinner at Bistro Jeanty in Yountville CA. We had a delicious meal and a bottle of wine. The hostesses and the server were charming and professional. It had an attractive clientele. The decor was beautiful and it was high energy. We highly recommend Bistro Jeanty

We entered into the front room which was a little noisy for us but sat in the back room which was perfect. Interesting and fun decor! The French onion soup was wonderful, the quiche great and the sole seriously awesome; dessert (did not need it) was chocolate bread pudding and crepe suzettes and both were superb! Great meal all the way!

Iโve heard good things about this tiny restaurant in Yountville. It definitely lived up to what Iโve heard about it. The restaurant is pretty small with not a lot of room between tables, it feels very crowded. The service was very good. We started with two appetizers, the Steak Tartare and the Crรชme de Tomate en Croute. The Steak Tartare is actually an entrรฉe, but we ordered it as an appetizer to split. The beef was very fresh and delicious served with an egg on top. The Crรชme de Tomate en Croute is tomato soup in puff pastry. Itโs very popular and thereโs a reason why. Absolutely delicious and unique! I donโt even like tomato soup but this is like none other. My husband had a special offering, a rabbit dish over pappardelle for his entrรฉe. The rabbit was prepared a couple ways. He loved his choice. I had the Moules ร la Normande, which was mussels steamed in cider with crรจme fraiche & grilled bread. The flavor was outstanding, but I would order this as an appetizer to share. It was way too much to eat by myself as an entrรฉe. The food at Bistro Jeanty is top notch. The menu has a nice variety of choices. This is definitely a restaurant not to miss while in the Napa Valley area. Make sure to make reservations, though, as it popular.

We had the tomato soup and it did not dissapoint, and shouldn't at $16.50. We had the house smoked salmon and I thought it was very good. We also had the scallops which are one of my favorite entres. They were so well cooked and accompanied by mashed potato, peas and corn but with just 3 sallops and common veggies at $36.00; not a good value, especially in this exceedingly loud, casual atmosphere.

We came with a 1-liter bottle of wonderful wine. The corking fee for a 750Ml bottle is $25, they charged me a $50 fee because the bottle was 33% larger......it was such an insult that I'll never go back. Maybe they have money problems and need to rip people off to stay above water...... The waiter's response was equally horrible "I'm just the messenger"

Waiting for food order was too long. Our waiter didn't listen to our instructions of the tab and became rude when we complained. Food was just okay but not to our expectations.

Yes. Weโve had TFL and Bouchon. For the money, this is our new place. But itโs not entirely the value. Itโs the taste, the care in crafting such a menu and seasonal items. We loved it and plan to revisit everytime.

This is one of the best meals Iโve had in a very long time. From beginning to end, my mouth was left in this extra sea of flavors, textures, and wonderful aromas. The value is absolutely phenomenal. Portion size and prize me hand-in-hand to make you feel like you got your moneys worth every turn of the menu. My husband actually said, start โI think they gave me too many mussels.โ We enjoyed a bottle of wine, fantastic bubbles, and laughs over arguably some of the best French food in Napa. We recommend the escargot, the truffle deviled eggs, the pigs feet, the rabbit with morel cream sauce and noodles, and the mussels. You may also want to consider the cod and lemon caper sauce. Run, donโt walk to bistro Jeanty. Itโs no wonder it stood the test of time in one country.

Specials included Fried Pigs feet and lambs tongue. I ate at the bar and opted for the Beef Stew which was actually more like a pot roast. Fell apart with your fork and was delicious.

All good from beginning to end. We arrived a little early and were seated without any fuss or wait. The ambiance was great - buzzing but not so loud that one couldn't hear. The place was pretty full and it was obvious that people were enjoying their meals.
The waitstaff were attentive and efficient. They knew their menu and wine list. The wine list was printed, extensive without being overwhelming and fairly priced with French and California wines as well as others.
The food arrived in a reasonable amount of time. One never felt like one was waiting or that one was being rushed. The pace was perfect for the food and the diners. The menu was varied with something for everyone.
Excellent food!
I would highly recommend dining at Bistro Jeanty while visiting Napa Valley. The food is excellent...appetizer, main course and dessert!! I also highly recommend making reservations, if you like dining outdoors ask for a table on the patio. The entire restaurant is lively and has a great ambience.

The service was outstanding. Highly recommend reservations. We could tell that the hostess was trying her best to fit in those without reservations but definitely helped that we had them.
We had bone marrow, escargot, beef bourguignon, rabbit (3/4 were specials) and the bread pudding for dessert We were extremely happy with every dish. The server was extremely attentive and the runners were always moving. It was a wonderful experience and had the best french food in Napa (and frankly, the best food overall.)
Chocolate Croissant Bread Pudding - Best thing I've eaten all year
I took my mother, father, and aunt here for my mom's 75th birthday lunch. It was great from the first bite to the last. The highlights were the crab and cheese souffle, entrecote frites, and the chocolate crosisant bread pudding. The two old birds from Queens would say that the bernaise sauce was their actual favorite.

Enjoyed dinner with a good friend. The food was outstanding: he enjoyed a beef stew, I devoured Arctic char. The service was swift and friendly. And the venue had a nice buzz but was not so noisy we could not talk.
Be the first to ReplyVery good french food
I have eaten here several times and in fact it's probably my favorite restaurant in the area. I had the Salade Lyonnaise and Pรขtรฉ de Campagne Maison both were excellent. I had tarte aux pommes for dessert. Their food is always good and the service is very good.
Be the first to ReplyGreat ambiance but we were rushed.
The food was amazing and we felt like we were in the countryside of France, with a bit more room.
Knowing what we know now, we would have ordered by course. Our appetizer arrived before our cocktails. Our main meal arrived before the wine and before we were finished with the appetizer.
Expensive, yes. Worth it, YES!
OK...elephant in the room....yes, it's very expensive. Our lunch WITHOUT ALCOHOL was $154. (1 soup, 2 entrees, 1 side, 2 desserts, 1 soft drink). Would I call this a good deal....nope. However, for a splurge for a fancy day out with friends or a romantic dinner out, it's a great place to eat tremendous food!
The decor is French to the point of losing track of what country you're in! IMO, it's furnished and appointed perfectly....dart in a bullseye! Service was very good, albeit a little bit on the slow side (but since we weren't in a hurry, no big deal).
Now, the food....the glorious food! The French beef stew and beef bourgenion (spelling, I know!) were proof of God's existence:-). The french onion soup was incredible, the puff pastry tomato soup was a revelation, and for dessert we tried a crepe suzette and a chocolate creme brรปlรฉe......divine!! Our friends tried the pumpkin cheesecake (so-so), and the chocolate bread pudding with a black cherry ice cream floating in it. Wars could rightfully fought over a dessert like this....it was inspiring!
If you have deep pockets, or have saved for a special meal out, Bistro Jeanty is a wonderful place to have a singular dining experience!!

This was the most disappointing dining experience we have had in a long time. The food was was mediocre, as was the service. The busboy spilled water all over our table and just disappeared, we had to clean it up ourselves with our napkins. We arrived 10 minutes early and could not get a table until the exact time of our reservation so had to stay outside and wait. The hostess made us feel bad we had shown up early. There are only two restrooms for a rather good sized restaurant and they are behind the hostess podium and people were crammed in waiting for one. One appetizer came first and the other two didnโt arrive for another five to seven minutes. The pork shoulder had little flavor, there were three Brussels sprouts cut in half and a slab of flavorless butternut squash. The beef bourguignon was in a small creouset pot that made it difficult to eat and it was mediocre. The French fries with the steak were limp and the bernaise sauce was thick and lumpy. We opted not to have dessert. Skip this one.
