Bistro Jeanty is a must when in Napa wine country.
The food and service are phenomenal.

Be the first to ReplyCustomer service: special occasion celebrating 2 birthdays
Customer service: special occasion celebrating 2 birthdays including a 60th and a party of 10 (5 couples). Even though they took the reservation for 10 people, when we arrived the manager there insisted the table does not fit 10 people and insisted to split us into 8 + 2! Can you imagine 2 people sitting alone while 8 are together??? Even we showed them we could all fit nicely (and took a picture with all 10 of us around the table to prove it). They did not budge and stayed rigid insisting that we have to split the party. Bad customer service especially the party is ok sitting comfortably around a 60" table that normally seats 10 people.

quaint place on the outside but actually pretty roomy on the inside with many different dining areas. escargot has that springy texture; not so much here in bistro jeanty. though the flavors are all there. puff pastry on tomato soup was a hit with the kids. they loved dipping the pastry into the soup and eating it (i guess it's a play on tomato soup and bread though i'm not too sure if that's a thing since i wasn't born here). ribeye was fatty and flavorful, just right at medium rare. pate was awesome. smooth, creamy, gamey. could count with one hand the number of restaurants who still serve this item. so good even the kids loved it.like many joints in napa, they have an extensive wine list which should please just about everyone.

We got into town earlier than expected and the restaurant was kind enough to move our reservation up to accommodate us. Wonderful food and atmosphere. Our server Austin gave us some great recommendations. The smelts were amazing- fresh and crisp. The beef stew and coq au vin were excellent and we fished off with an apple tart that was Devine. Great experience- would recommend to others.

I wanted to try and find a place in Napa Valley that truly doesn't deserve all five stars.Coming here was not the place to go to achieve that discovery. Not mad. My party of four easily ordered, and enjoyed, half the menu. Every bite was another smile and "oh you gotta try this." Some notes I really liked about this place having been an avid international foodie (ok I gave that title to myself, no one else gave it to me):The escargot come shelled, no need to stress about taking them out yourself which is a huge plus (especially because you want all that herbed butter for some bread!) They we're larger than I'm used to, not chewy, not overly "seafood-y" (I've had some like that and didn't enjoy it) meaty goodness. Rich, so a perfect share. The pate: just do it. No questions asked. The truffled deviled eggs: super nom, not super truffle. Don't order if you're hard up for a truffle experience. Bone Marrow: It's hard to screw this up, unless it's undercooked or a bad section- neither of which were the case here and it was gobbled down.French Onion Soup: do you like cheese? Then get this. Eat slow, there's a lot of cheese. Aka heaven in a bowl. I was curious how this would stack up to bouchon . It surpassed it. I would not go back there, I'd come here if I need the soup again. Croque Madam: wow- comes with perfect shoe string fries, I got the add on of truffle aioli which is so nice the lemon tint keeps it light. The sando itself was perfect, much better than any I've had in France or the recently mentioned other "B" place (sorry guys!)Coq au Vin: my friends didn't realize mushroom are the guest of honor at the Vin's (wine) house here (unfortunately not everyone plays by the "list the ingredients in order" rules). I'm positive it was decadent but we don't like the fungi. Bottom line, get it all.

I've been to Bistro Jeanty couple times in the past but there weren't anything to write about so I never written a review on them. This time I have to leave a review so I'd remember my meal there.Seems like their food has improved significantly. Not only they have some new dishes on the menu, they have pretty much all of my favorite dishes like bone marrows, steak tartare, escargots, onion soup, steamed mussels, etc...The flavors were spot on for every dish! I wanted to order all of my favorites but I am no cow I only have one stomach so I had to be selective and picked out what I craved for that day. That said, I narrowed down my favorite steak tartare (entree $25) and escargots ($18.5) + two special apps from their board, the crab souffle and crispy pigsfoot. Also their chicken pot pie (entree) and complete with their crepe Suzette ($13.5).Let me tell you their crispy pigsfoot ($17.5) was out of this world! Shape like a hoof, crunchy outside and inside was filled with all boneless pigsfoot meat. Super tender and flavorful. Must order. The other dish that wow'd me was their chicken pot pie ($48). Chicken pot pie isn't one of my favorite dishes even though it's most folks comfort food. We ordered because it has lots of good reviews and one of the restaurant's popular dishes so thought we ought to try it out when in France. One taste of the pie and Bistro Jeanty had me converted to a chicken pot pie believer! Order it you won't regret it.Also the crab souffle ($38) was full of crab meat absolutely delicious!Gina our waitress had great energy, friendly and attentive. We were well taken care of by her.Bistro Jeanty is such a cute little French bistro you will feel like you are in france! Go try it out when in Napa.

This was quite a fancy and professional establishment, the ambiance was nice with an old fashioned setup, it was not so spacious however, quite crowded actually. My seating was in the middle where my stomach was almost pressed up against the table and the waiters had to say excuse me a couple times while I was eating my food or else they would have bumped my elbow. As for the food, the the mashed potatoes were well mashed and stayed hot the whole meal, the gravy wasn't as good as I thought it would be, the steak was well cooked but slightly bland with flavor, so I had to put a little extra salt. The meal altogether was delicious. Not the best place for steaks, but I was told by a friend that's not what they're known for, I will come again to try more items on the menu.
Be the first to ReplyUnfortunately things are not the same here.
My daughter and I got food poisoning after dining on Saturday afternoon. I quickly reached out to the restaurant to warn them of the issue. No one responded. After twenty years of dining there, I must say I will never return.
Be the first to ReplyThis place may be the best in Yountville.
The atmosphere is understated, relaxed, but not sloppy. Professional staff were efficient and on point. We were seated in the outdoor patio area on a 60 degree day, and it was perfect! The menu is not huge, but everything we tried made it our best meal in town. We started with the tomato soup served in a bowl with a puff pastry baked over the top - absolutely the best tomato soup I've ever had, and the pastry was light, flaky, and the perfect compliment to the soup as it gave way and served as dipping bread. Then we tried the escargot - again, perfect. The herbs and seasoning were spot on, and each piece was tender...melting in your mouth with every bite. For the main course, we both ordered Coq Au Vin...this dish is near and dear to my palate and a family favorite...and Jeanty knocked it out of the park. The waiter made the smart suggestion of buttered noodles as a side with the chicken, and when the two were mixed, things got even more amazing. For dessert, we had the lemon meringue tart...another amazing beautiful and perfectly executed dish.Just can't say enough good things - will be at the top of our list on our next visit to Napa.
Be the first to ReplyI was really looking forward to our visit at Bistro Jeanty
I was really looking forward to our visit at Bistro Jeanty but our experience is not one that will take us back there. The cocktails were good and my dinner was good but my husband's steak was brought out raw and it was so chewy that he didn't even end up finishing it. We would have sent it back but our server was never around. Our server was nice but wouldn't look at me, unless I was ordering, but only gave attention to my husband. All specials and other information was spoken directly to him, which was really awkward and uncomfortable for both of us. I get it if you aren't into ladies, but when in service all members of the party should be acknowledged. The other huge bummer was that the hostess had 2 of her friends come in, and seated them at the table next to us. The tables are all very close together, which is fine, until you have the hostess talking to her friends for most of your meal, and her butt is right where you are trying to eat. No one wants to look at a butt and listen to the hostess talk to her friends, instead of doing her job, when you are trying to enjoy a meal. In a town like Yountville we expect great service, and have never been let down until this visit to Bistro Jeanty. We will not be back and definitely do not recommend it.
Be the first to ReplySo the food was just okay.
Honestly had way better French lots of places in America. Our waitress (unknown name but she had a small star tattoo by her eye) was absolutely horrible. She spilled red wine on me and my mom and wasn't apologetic. Then my mom specifically picked out a dessert for my sister's birthday and they completely FORGOT. When we mentioned this mistake to our "star tattoo" waitress as we were exiting she literally couldn't care less. My mom was really upset. She wasn't apologetic and said nothing. She was beyond rude and it was a really disappointing experience. Worst service that we had in Napa, and maybe one of the worst waitresses I've had in years and I've dined in many cities, you name it (LA, Scottsdale, Chicago, NYC) I really hope the manager sees this. Tried to get ahold of him as we left but at that point it was just done. In a nutshell, the point of my review was the horrible waitress with the STAR TATTOO by her eye. There's so many good people in this country looking for work and she was absolutely horrendous and so unfriendly. Never even smiled or asked how we were once.
Be the first to ReplyCame during a rather busy Monday lunch crowd.
Service was prompt and the food beautifully presented. Had the ratatouille, tomato cream soup and salad. Tomato soup had a bread cap baked atop and the was piping hot as it should be. Highly recommend for a nice lunch and will come again for dinner!
Be the first to ReplyLoved this cute little French restaurant.
It makes you feel like you walked into the neighborhood bistro around the quarter from your apartment in Paris. The food was beyond excellent. We had the Beef Bourguignon and the Beef Stew. Sounds simple right? Not so much The flavors were fantastic and how do you get buttered noodles to taste like an out of body experience? I highly recommend this restaurant and maybe every night... just kidding. Don't leave however without trying the Profiteroles - exceptionally great!!!
Be the first to ReplyAwesome, awesome meal.
And I hate French food. Service could have been better, but everyone was friendly and seemed to be working hard. Just a few hiccups with our order. Table of 6 so it happens. Food was fabulous. Tomato soup... DAMN! and I don't even like tomatoes. Coq u van (?) was damn good too. Mushrooms and bacon, what?! Salad, also good. Dessert: DAMN! Just loved it. Exceeded expectations.
Be the first to ReplyI've been a fan and customer of Jeanty's for over 20 years
I've been a fan and customer of Jeanty's for over 20 years (including the downtown SF location that closed down years ago). After today's meal I think I must say goodbye to Jeanty's. While the tomato puff pastry soup was still good. The rest was not so great. A few things really turned me off. 1) butter egg noodles didn't have enough parmesan and they charged me for extra parm. Felt so nickel and dimed! Especially since it didn't have enough to begin with. 2) the ribeye - waitress gave us a medium well when we ordered medium rare...they gave us a new one that was more of a medium on the center of the steak and rare around the edges. 3) I asked the waitress about the bday ice cream for my husband's bday and she didn't bring us anything! We had a much better lunch experience at Bouchon. Too many good places to eat in Yountville to come back here. Good bye Jeanty's.
Be the first to ReplyDelicious, yummy, perfection! The food is out of this world.
This is our second visit and I can't say enough about the food. I ordered the Boeuf this time around and I was not disappointed. They served it in my personal sized cast iron Dutch oven such a cute touch! Bistro Jeanty has made it into my Restaurant rotation when I am in town

Be the first to ReplyWe had a great experience here.
Admittedly we didn't order much (and didn't order any drinks other than water due to having wine tasted all day). But the haricots verts salad was fantastic, and we each got the scallops (which was one of the specials) and loved it. Both were recommended by our server (who was great) and we were not disappointed. We will go back next time we're in Napa and order a wider range of food (and wine)!

We booked this restaurant last minute on a trip to Napa at the advice of a French colleague. I'm French myself and a foodie. Well, this place didn't disappoint. While the decor is maybe a little too French and over the top for my taste, I get why they do it. It is funny that the majority of the signs they display are from the 50s and these brands no longer exist. But I diverge ...The food is excellent and true to french cuisine. We started with quenelles au brochet, a French classic and the execution was spot on. Nicely souffle'd dumplings with a sauce reminiscent of sauce Nantua, the French classic way for this dish. Theirs has lobster and tasted so good I asked for more bread to finish it Then I had the joues de boeuf, which they translate as beef stew but is really beef cheeks stew. Not sure why they don't say it, maybe Americans would be turned off by this Mexican sounding piece of beef? Anyhow, it was super tender and well done, even if my rendition of this dish is more fatty and has more sauce. But still, very very good and perfectly tender. Finally the Brillat-Savarin cheese was amazing. So melty, so well paired with a truffled infused vinaigrette.Go there, no froufrou, simple and true french cuisine.

Get the French onion soup! We had the best dining experience all the way around here. The food, service and atmosphere were all exceptional.
Be the first to ReplyService was horrible.
Can't believe it. So disappointed. I dont even know where to start w this review other than piss off... we were not or are not tourists. So take your crappy attitude and shove it. Not too worry, I'll let the entire hotel where I'm staying know of this unbelievable crappy service. I just don't know we're else to go... pure crap with a $150 bottle of wine included. Go to Bouchon!!
Be the first to ReplySecond time back here because my girl friend gifted me
Second time back here because my girl friend gifted me their e-gift card:) We came with another couple who have never been here and they were very impressed. Our waiter, Omar, did an excellent job to make our Sunday dinner reunion memorable. My personal favorite was the crab soufflé. My vegan portobello mushroom entree was a bit strange (sour and chewy) and all the other entrees seemed to be on salty side. The desserts were delish. I think the price is on par with Bouchon Bistro? I prefer Bouchon actually.
Be the first to ReplyMy overall experience was very good.
Tomato soup was excellent. Croquet madam was good but not great. Chocolate creme Brule was very good. Cappuccino was ok. Service was excellent from the front reception to the wait staff. I would come here again.
Be the first to ReplyWhat a pleasant surprise! We happened upon Bistro Jeanty
What a pleasant surprise! We happened upon Bistro Jeanty just as they were opening today. They were all booked up with reservations but accommodated to hungry souls. The Crab Soufflé was amazing (I don't really like crab except in sushi), sumptuous, baked to perfection with a balanced, lite and elevating whiskey sauce. Truly, an experience. We also had the heirloom beet salad with citrus vinaigrette and the lamb tongue salad dish. Both salads complimented each perfectly. The lamb salad is very hardy. We are stuffed and happy. Great experience!
