A Sunday Roast to experience!
Great food, service and atmosphere. The portions were just right, and would return again. Premises were clean and food arrived on timely manner.

Be the first to ReplyGreat night out with superb food
Visited for our 25th wedding anniversary having never been before. Our waiter, Martin, was very knowledgable and helpful in helping select the right dishes. I had the pigs head on toast which was very tasty. For mains we had sirloin steak, 3 skinny chops (pork) with chips, broccoli and walnuts, charred baby gem lettuce. All were great and recommended. The dessert of white chocolate cheesecake is superb so definitely have it, not sickly at all
Be the first to ReplyReally loving Blacklock. No surprise they are growing
Table for six of us. Staff greeting and care is solid throughout. I think this place is excellent value and very high quality. The pre chops bites are great and the all in just has to be done. Insane amount of cheesecake for dessert. Left full and very happy

We were lucky to get a spot at the bar on a Saturday night. Staff was super friendly. We had the Denver steak and the Rump Cap, both amazing. Broccoli salad as a side was great, bit too much dressing though. Fries were nice, sweet potato as well.

Lovely restaurant. Staff were helpful and knowledgeable. We had the starters with the gravy. For mains we had the rump cap. Both courses very nice. Just try the gravy. I will go as far as to say one of the best steaks I have had in a long while. I will certainly be going back
Be the first to ReplyAmazing beef at great prices
Have been to Blacklock Shoreditch a few times for business and being impressed initially a treat for weightlifting carnivore son was required. Was better than ever. Great front of house service by Martin and Beppe / Pepe. Super friendly, chatty and great recommendations. Top tip: get a burger to share for a starter whilst waiting for a Porterhouse. All cooked impeccably. Chips in beef fat are delicious and moreish. Kale side is a winner. Sauces bang on. Some of the wines by glass a little meh (stick with the Primitivo, which is very good), and prepare to be amazed by the quality of food and experience in a really buzzy atmosphere. Can’t be beaten if a steak & burger aligned with great service is what you need.

I work just up the road and decided to visit this restaurant for a takeaway and that was a great decision the food was amazing from the kale to the fries and gravy and on top of that the mouth watering steaks, just amazing.
Be the first to ReplySuperb meal without breaking the bank.
We visited this restaurant on a friends recommendation and boy are we glad we did. The restaurant itself is lovely, tables are situated quite close together but it didn’t cause us any issues. Our waiter Boris was superb, he took the time to recommend what he considered the best dishes. We ordered the “All In” platter which came with some canapés to start, these were lovely. We then had a huge portion of steak, lamb and pork chops served on flat bread. This came with two side dishes and we chose the baby gem with anchovy dressing and the beef dripping chips. Boris also recommended the Primitvo which was a very drinkable (and I’m not a great red wine fan). We finished our meal with the bread and butter pudding which was served with ice cream and the best custard we have ever tasted in our lives. We thoroughly enjoyed this meal for the quality of food and the outstanding service. We cannot recommend highly enough .

Blacklock is so good. Having had a disappointing and unexpectedly expensive meal last week at the Hawksmoor branch in Knightsbridge, our visit to Blacklock in Shoreditch last night was absolutely fantastic. We had 1.1kg Prime Rib, a Rump Fillet and a Denver between four of us, all were delicious, as was the "on tap" Primitivo. Their gravy is my favourite gravy in the world and the kale and parmesan side is a perfect accompaniment to the meat. In all, we ate and drank like Henry VIII and it was 75 quid a head - near faultless. It is about half the price as Hawksmoor and is as good, if not better - I highly recommend.

Absolutely delicious food - appetizers and salads at least. That’s what my friend and I had. And a scrumptious apple crumble. Excellent service. Probably the noisiest restaurant I’ve ever been in. Wednesday night at 9:00 pm.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent Sunday lunch
What a great Sunday lunch! Recommended the All in, amazing huge Yorkshire puddings, fantastic roast potatoes, lovely mix of beef lamb & pork, crispy cracking, seasonal veg & lashings of gravy. Service was excellent, great cocktails. Will definitely be back.
Be the first to ReplyLondon’s best Sunday Roast!
We waited around six weeks for our booking here having tried many Sunday roast dinners at various pubs around London. This was hands down the best one.
Be the first to ReplyVery well looked after
Our entire dining experience was first rate, from the moment we stepped in and warmly greeted to the smiles from our servers at 6 well-fed customers. We swapped and shared all the food and really enjoyed the Cull Yaw Crumpet, Kale and Parmesan, Halloumi and of course the All In meat platter. My only criticism is that we found some of the dishes a little salty, but despite than that it was clean plates all round. As usual I watch the staff work and every o e of them moved about with heads up, looking to see if a customer was about to need something, not staring at the floor avoiding eye contact. Our server, Nadia, made us feel totally welcome and looked after without being overly visible. Greatly appreciated
Be the first to ReplyAmazing prime rib. Excellent service for late lunch
I had the absolute privilege of dining with black lock for a celebratory payday lunch in early February and can’t rave about it enough. This restaurant was recommended to me by a chef at work and after reading about the cull yaw crumpet I was really looking forward to lunch and I must say the restaurant absolutely met expectations. The vibe and decor is an upmarket country pub with a fireplace (reminds me of home in Cambridgeshire). Martin and the rest of the Tuesday front of house team looked after us so well with cocktails, steak cuts and especially help with wine selection! We went for the prime rib cut which was cooked perfectly but the stand out for me was definitely the kale with Parmesan. It’s very VERY rare I am so taken aback by a side dish. And whoever’s idea it was to produce a “bread and gravy” side dish needs to trademark that asap. Last but not least dessert (white chocolate cheesecake) served family style in a help yourself style tray at the end… a brilliant callback to homemade family style lunch. One thing I especially liked was the blackboard showing cuts of the day available and crossed off when sold: customer to kitchen communication on point. If I could give 10* I would but alas…. Can’t wait for my next visit (PS thank you very much for the limoncello at the end. Nice touch Martin!)

Rudest service team I have ever come across. Condescending and wouldn’t accommodate another person - even though they would do it but would be uncomfortable and laughed about it - managers is Kat Stanworth - needs retraining: Will raise with Blacklock senior management team separately.
Be the first to ReplyNice atmosphere
Plenty of pictures and reviews of the amount of meat that you get. It is good value for money and you will not go hungry. For me I think sometimes less is more! We had a great waiter and it was a very chilled atmosphere, and as we nearly missed the last train home we were clearly all enjoying ourselves.

Simply superb from start to finish. We ordered the deal for 2 people (£24pp) and were presented with a beautiful starter where we were told which order to eat them in (love this). A mountain of different meats and two sides came next. Everything was completely delicious. The grandma style cheesecake was next level. They even left us the dish 😂 The service was also impeccable. A must visit if you're in London.
Be the first to ReplyGood Sunday roast
Very solid Sunday roast. Went with the all-in, which included lamb, pork and beef. Lamb was the highlight for me, though the drackling with the pork was also great. Thought the gravy was also a standout. Only disappointment was very few starter options, and I love starters.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing Sunday Roast
So we were in the east end on a Sunday (the best day to visit there in my opinion), and so I booked Sunday Roast here way in advance. Service was very good. We ordered 4 all-ins. Giant plate came out, obligatory photos followed. All the food was super delicious, even the vegetables at the bottom. Seriously, the best carrots I've ever tasted. Anyway, despite the giant amount of food...we wanted more! But having spent 22 GBP per person already...
Anyway, my first Sunday Roast in England so no other restaurant to compare it to, but I thought the food and the atmosphere was fantastic.
My go to for a meat fueled fest!
Always my go to for a meat fueled feast!
Skinny lamb chops to start are a must, followed by a massive sharing meat cut, sides of fries, Garlic bone marrow and baby gem lettuce with anchovy butter are my faves!
Service is always good even when busy, though on occasions you have to wait quite a while to get your food. It's worth the wait!
Standards slipping
Visited here again after a few years and sadly standards have slipped somewhat. Our roasts came out cold, with the meat rather undercooked in parts. Had to reject them. The replacements were better although I thought the cabbage was overdone. Spoiled what was otherwise a nice pre birthday meal.
Be the first to ReplyFabulous, must try
Wonderful carnivorous experience.
Took the "All in" menu (1 finger food appetizer, a plate full of pork, beef and lamb chops and 1 side). 22GBP and stuffed myself with juicy meat.
Service is super kind, had a revisited version of Bloody Mary with beef juice in it (!!!).
Industrial styled restaurant, with bricks and iron.
Relaxed but spot on
Great meal, you don’t have to go for the massive cuts to come out feeling full. Just the right level of service. Perfect relaxed option for when you don’t want to go hawksmoor/ goodmans
Be the first to ReplyQuality food & Service!
Went to Blacklock Monday 07th March 2022 first ever visit after reading the reviews on here, had pre-booked our table and upon arrival was shown straight to it.
The waiter was very attentive and took our drinks order which quickly arrived. He talked through “butchers prices day” today and explained the different meat and weights available with the savings.
I choose a steak which was perfectly cooked and tasted great.
Ended meal with a white chocolate cheesecake which was delicious.
Service throughout was spot and the bill was reasonable for what we had & drinks!
Will definitely return!
