I recently had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant, and I must say, it was an incredible experience. From the moment I stepped through the door, I was greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The layout of the dining area was well thought out, providing both comfort and intimacy. The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the food. The menu boasted a wide variety of options, each one more appetizing than the last. I opted for a mouthwatering steak, cooked to perfection and accompanied by delectable sides. The flavors were bold and the presentation was impeccable. Not only was the food exceptional, but the drink selection was equally impressive. The restaurant offered an extensive list of beverages, ranging from classic cocktails to artisanal creations. The attentive and knowledgeable staff guided me through the menu, ensuring I found the perfect pairing for my meal. When it comes to pricing, this restaurant offers great value for the quality of food and service provided. While not the cheapest option in town, the overall experience justifies the cost. I left the restaurant feeling satisfied in every way. The combination of delicious food, remarkable drinks, comfortable ambiance, and attentive staff made for an unforgettable dining experience. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in search of a truly outstanding culinary adventure.

The ambiance is the best, over looking pirates of the Caribbean ride. We did the Fantasmic special dinner. Only down side is as no Monte cristo served at dinner anymore. Service was excellent. Filet mignon was as tasty. Ribeye was excellent. Mushroom ragout was good. Desserts on point all of them. You really come here for the ambience but the meal is a nice plus.

So it was exciting to find put we were gonna get a chance
So it was exciting to find put we were gonna get a chance to eat here on a disney visit...And then we did...Meh, overrated. When ur a big pirates of the carribean ride fan, you always get curious about that restaurant on the side as you wait in the line...how cool it would be to eat there, right? Well, don't be so optimistic tho. LolSo 1st...must have a reservation ..and that is not easy to get2nd...cramped spacing for what it is and also, its not as bayou as you would think. Does not feel outdoorsy on a bayou, just low key new orleans style sit in restaurant.3rd...possible long wait depends on how busy they are. Start with drinks and water as you look at the menu. 4th...their menu is simple and does not really offer alot...drinks selection is kinda weak also esp if ypu wanna think new orleans square vibes. They do serve a comp bread for the table to pick at.Their hurricane cocktails LOOK GOOD but kinda suck for the pricey cost, all drink, no fun inside...probably need 2 just to make up for the 1.I ended up getting a beer just because.they have wine if thats ur thing.5th... you are there with your kids and family so u wanna make sure the kids eat. They got 'kids meals' but its not ideal for kids cause they try to get fancy. My 9 yr old chose roasted chicken...my 3 yr old shared with him and picked at our plates, so get the right options on the kids meal i.e. fruit/veggies6th...their simple menu is kinda shee shee, wannabe posh. I mean its disneyland trying to offer that fancy creole vibe but i feel like, good food is good food and atmosphere should all add up but this place is waaaayyy overrated for what it is. All criticism aside... we ordered:* Filet Mignon meal... meat was small, cooked properly, came with veggies and potatoes...presentation was great, ive had better.* The Monte Cristo and Seasonal Salad ...think panini meal, it was surprisingly bommmm, get it. I mean, Its a ham and chicken sandwhich but really tasty. You can share it with 2 people. *Gumbo ...hella hella small serving, its A CUP size, get 2 of em right off the bat, its good but small*scallops ...tasty, get thisLook, if you go out and eat fancy dining, good for you and you know this IS overrated. If you are a simple eating type of person then you will prob think this food here is like, ohhh myyy gawddd ...this food and presentation is more for foodies who think their IG is a big deal and that their filtered photos translates to how good their food tastes. In closing....you should definitely try out the Blue Bayou and cross it off ypur disneyland trip, just don't be so optimistic after looking at their online menu and making it a bigger deal than what it is

Always opt for the montacristo (sp?).
.. fun drinks in a mellow, chill atmosphere that lets you take a quick break from the hectic day that is Disney.

I REALLY wanted to love this place.
I made a reservation 60 days in advance and was really excited for it. Seems like your table can make or break your experience. We had one at the stairs of the restaurant. Lots of traffic and no view whatsoever. PROS: the hurricane drink tasted really good. The corn and poblano fitters were also very good. Cons: the ribeye was very charred. So charred it left residue on my husbands mouth. The shrimp in the chicken dish was cold. I got the sea bass special. The fish was more gray than white and the presentation was lacking (white fish on a bed of white rice. Very bland looking.) the pineapple topping was delicious though. $230 for a dinner for 3 (2 adults and 1 kid who ate off the adult menu ) 2 drinks. One appetizer. 3 entrees. That's a lot of money for a lackluster experience. Would definitely not go again.

Ever since I was a little girl I wanted to visit this place.
Last night my dream finally came true. It didn't disappoint. I loved seeing people on Pirates of the Caribbean pass by as we were having dinner. The service was great! May recommended wine to pair with our dinner, she was very nice and friendly. The ambiance is romantic and quiet. They don't have loud music playing and it really helps you enjoy your dinner. We got the fantasmic package with our dinner and were able to be front row to the show after dinner. It was a perfect evening.

We had an excellent experience here.
Our party was right next to the water, server was very attentive and humorous. Everyone thought their food was great. Yes, more expensive than the same meal outside of Disney but some of these reviews had me worried we'd be hurling on the way out. I think people are too neurotic about their Disney experience having to be nonstop ecstasy and they needlessly bag on this place. I'd 100% return.

I have been to coming to Disneyland for a long time my family and I have always wanted to try the Blue Bayou. My favorite ride is Pirates of the Caribbean and taking the boat and seeing the restaurant it's always been a dream to go in there. My family and I were able to get a reservation. It was definitely an experience my dad and I had the monte Crisco sandwich It is a deep fried sandwich with powdered sugar which was so good. It had apricot sauce and vanilla sauce on the side. It was a weird combination but it was so good! I highly recommend coming here

After exiting Pirates of the Caribbean my brother and I tried to have my birthday dinner here. Michelle was the hostess up front and informed me that the the restaurant was booked for the night, but to come back to see if there were any cancellations. We tried a short time later and were able to get a table. We ordered the salad, scallops, bone in rib-eye Oscar style, filet mignon. Basque cheesecake, and creme brรปlรฉe. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted absolutely delicious. We each ordered a glass of Silver Oak cabernet to pair with our steaks. Our waitress was Desiree and she did a phenomenal job. She was knowledgeable of the menu and was very friendly. At the end of our meal, Desiree shared some stories of her time working for Disneyland.Thank you so much Michelle and Desiree for your kindness and hospitality! You made our Disney experience even more memorable.

I wanted to LOVE this place, I really did.
I only like it.I have started to become a foodie at Disney and try all the fancy restaurants and food places at Disney and California Adventure. Between the two parks, this restaurant is mediocre. There's nothing exciting about it aside from eating near the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. As a kid, I always remember people eating at the restaurant, after 30+ years, I finally tried it and meh.It doesn't live up to the hype. My favorite item was the gumbo, but you can order that at other restaurants within the park. They did not offer jambalaya when I went; instead, they had a weird chicken plate in its place. I don't like it when restaurants change their menu. The roasted chicken was fine, just too expensive for what it is. The creme brรปlรฉe was pretty tasty.I made a reservation months in advance only to be sat next to the kitchen where there was constant noise. There was nothing romantic about my experience, the constant kitchen noise ruined the atmosphere for me.I won't return. Too disappointing for a reservation that you need months in advance and for $100+ meal. No thanks.

Disappointing dinner celebration
Excited to finally eat at this iconic restaurant for my daughters birthday. Made reservations two months out. Arrived a little early and had to wait for our table though walk-ins weโre being seated. Table was next to restroom and server station. Our server seemed in a hurry, was not friendly, messed up our order and forgot we ordered dessert. Our incorrect entrees were served an hour after we ordered. When desserts came out they were plopped on the table (the macaroons in a generic plastic box) with no mention of happy birthday to my daughter (the reason for the special occasion). They did take off the forgotten desserts and discounted our late food and incorrect entrees. Very disappointed and wonโt be back. There are much better experiences at city walk and around the theme parks.

After 10+ years of riding Pirates of the Caribbean and always wanting to eat here, we finally got a reservation. Even with a reservation at 6:30 pm we were seated at 7:15 and had to wait in the crowded sitting area for 45 minutes. They workers in the lobby were a bit rude and short with us when we checked in and asked when we were going to be seated. We were then sat at a table surrounded by loud families. Not a good start. But the food is what made this earn a couple of points from me. The mint julep, gumbo, and filet mignon was excellent. The best food at Disneyland no doubt. Overall, service was not good. This was the first time at Disneyland I have not felt welcomed or taken care of. The food though was great and made us forget about the frustrating start. This might have been my first time here but might be my last time. I will enjoy the Blue Bayou from a distance next time on the pirates ride.

Going to the Blue Bayou is always a special treat.
It's hard to snag a reservation but keep trying back as sometimes they have same day cancellations in the app or they can add you to the Walk Up list. Easier during mid-week less crowded of course. The food and sit down table service are a big reason to come here. The staff are friendly and will recommend things off the menu. Of course the best part is being in the A/C with view of the pirates of the Caribbean boats that slowly float by. Pro Tip: The night sky also has a shooting star that goes by every 15 second or so (magic). Now for the food - they have filets, chicken and some fish as well as the Gumbo for an appetizer. I would qualify the entrees are mostly like you would expect at a nice wedding service. The gumbo appetizer is good but small. The filet is good from prior visits but nothing superb like Ruth Chris' or anything. We tried the Monte Cristo sandwich this time as it is unique. I really enjoyed it as it was plenty of food with a nice salad. My partner enjoyed the scallops appetizer as her meal and was pleased. The dessert options are good but our server offered that you can get plenty of dessert within the park later so don't necessarily need to get some here. Lastly, they have alcohol - which is rare within Disneyland Park - used to be the only place besides Club 33 but now Star Wars land offers some drinks in Ogas Cantina. Anyway, this place is worth a sit down splurge. Enjoy

Though we sorely missed the Monte Cristo at dinnertime, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. From start to finish, service was gracious and welcoming and the food was delicious. The Filet Mignon was tender and flavorful, cooked to perfection. The carrots were seriously delectable. The Mushroom Ragu Pasta was a complete surprise as the tastiest, heartiest and most filling of entrees. The scallops were a yummy appetizer, and we were way too full for dessert. Worth every penny for a lovely dinner in the heart of Disneyland.

Went on 3/4 to celebrate my daughter's birthday and our time slot was 9:45. For the price you pay, I expect high quality and good tasting steak-I got neither. The steak was over cooked and the portion was small. Getting a corn dog is a better option.

very disappointing experience
There is a wait in a lobby that is lacking in adequate seating. After walking around the park all day, we had to sit on the carpet until our table was ready. Inside the restaurant was gorgeous! But it was completely FREEZING!!!! It was colder inside than outside and it was around 59/60 degrees for a high that day. EVERY single person in the restaurant that had a coat was wearing it while they were eating! Puffy coats everwhere. I finally told my server that it was uncomfortably cold in there here is her response - server: "I am not cold . . . but I am running around." (ie lacking in all empathy me: do you see everyone in their coats? server: well it is cold outside. me: it is cold in here. server: I think Florida controls the temperature of this restaurant." Wow. It is extremely uncomfortable eating while you are freezing. there are very few entree options, really only one for vegetarians.$28 of pasta. Really expensive considering I was uncomfortable the entire time. Will not return.

Very fun experience.
The check in guy was really rude and made me stand in the rain while he fiddled with his tablet and claimed he couldnโt find my reservation that I made 60 days ago despite the confirmation on my app and trying to give him a confirmation number, after almost one whole minute of looking he brushed me aside and moved on to someone else. Once I was finally allowed in by another cast member we really enjoyed our dinner, the food was good and the service was great, it made our visit to Disneyland that much more special.

Ruined by a fire alarm (which happens more than I realized)
Our meal (daughterโs actual birthday) was cut short by a fire alarm somewhere in the block of buildings. It forced evacuation of the Pirates ride too. We were kicked out, then sent further away, then even further away, then told to stand near the waterโs edge on the other side of the park masses. After waiting with no updates, we simply left. Nobody apologized (they seemed very disorganized at the restaurant) and we never got contacted even though they had all my info. Iโve since read this happens every so often and the response is similar each time (which annoys me even more). Not sure Iโd trust coming here for an important celebration.

Had looked forward to eating at the Blue Bayou for a long time. I should have kept it on my wishlist and not actually gone. The waitresses were not overly friendly and the food was total overpriced rubbish. Were do I start? My chicken was totally overcooked and dry. Looks like it had sat in some kind of heatbox for hours. The kids meals were appalling. So disappointed. Disney, if you going to offer higher end dining, please up your game. It's not hard, lot's of other places manage.

Used to love it, now I just like it
There was a hiccup with us checking in with a reservation made months in advance. We noticed walk ins were getting assigned tables before us. I double checked with another staff member who realized we were missed. A little unorganized but was pleasantly surprised we were seated by the water, but near the kitchen. Lots of foot traffic going past our table with waiters carrying trays. Not exactly peaceful but we carried on. I had to skip the prime rib due to a mushroom allergy and the New Year's eve special of beef bourginon for the same reason. Ended up ordering a gem salad (which was quite good and later realized it was the only picture I took of the food!) and the creole chicken with rice. I want a whole plate of that rice! It was the highlight of the dish. The shrimp included was too salty and the chicken was bone in, skin on thigh. Good, but not much meat. I loved the dining experience, but miss previous menus with filet mignon, steak, lobster, whole chicken, mashed potatoes? (I might be mistaking this for Club 33), and fresh vegetables. I could be wrong, but I suspect the veggies were frozen. The portions have shrunk, the menu shrunk, but the prices have gone up. Still very good for theme park food, but I miss what Blue Bayou used to be. I'll still go, but may join the walk up list. They seemed to get seated faster!
To be fair I had read several reviews warning me about the terrible food. Itโs TRUE! I still wanted to go for the experience. The experience was cool except the pirates ride was not accepting passengers at the time of our meal unfortunately. So that adds to the lack of stars. I had the Creole Chicken it was ok, but not worth the cost. My mom had the Monte Cristo Sandwich which was not good. They use the cheapest turkey and ham available and want a premium price. If you have kids I donโt recommend this restaurant they donโt have the have the best kids menu and again for the cost to have your kids pick at their food go somewhere else.
This used to be a favorite and a go-to for all of my Disney trips. I was so excited when I was able to snag a reservation since I knew they were hard to get. I booked this for myself, my new husband (who had never been to Disneyland before), and my folks to have dinner our first night. I don't know what happened between my last visit in 2015 and my visit last week, but this isn't what it used to be and it broke my heart. The food wasn't bad, but the menu selections were so limited from what used to be offered. Our service was terrible as well. Our waiter barely checked on us. I know they get busy, my husband and I both worked in the restaurant industry, but to see our waiter maybe twice in the span of over an hour didn't seem like typical Disney service. He was clearly stressed and rushed because he barely said but a few words to us. I was super disappointed. This is no longer worth the money I was willing to pay for years and years of dining. You're paying for the ambience and that's about it. I don't think we'll be booking again in the future unless I see or hear of some changes that might sway me to. Save your money and dine elsewhere.
Dec 2022. Tried to book this restaurant in Disneyland 60 days out and no luck. Went to the resort they had a walk up available but they can not accommodate 8 adults and two children under 5. I witnessed over 3 days they were taking groups of 6 and groups of 4. I even mentioned to them we could split up. No luck. I am not happy! My family and I have been to Disney resorts both parks approximately 20 times. This Christmas trip we spent over $20,000. Disney you just lost a valued customer. Best Regards, Roy

If you like Cafeteria Food, eat here
We've always eaten at the Blue Bayou when visiting Disneyland. For this trip, I worked very hard to get a reservation, ending up with an 8:50pm start time. We arrived early, but didn't get seated until 9: 25pm. Beware....you are simply paying exorbitant prices for the pleasure of eating mass produced food served in the Pirates of the the Caribbean attraction. This used to be a White Table Cloth experience with very good food. The table cloths are gone!!!! The cafeteria tables are crammed in together....the service is not good. We had the Gumbo Starter. I literally laughed when they brought it to the table in the smallest bowl I've ever seen. Three spoonfuls and it was gone! I AM NOT EXAGGERATING. We all ordered the Pasta dish. Which appeared to be mass produced. Some bites of my pasta were warm, some were cold. I asked for (was not offered) parmesan cheese. The waiter simply dropped a bowl with two Kraft Grated Cheese packets on our cafeteria table then turned his back and ran away. Our cafeteria table did not have any salt or pepper shakers. We were not offered any bread, as was standard protocol in the past. I really missed it, since I ordered the pasta and had no way to scoop up the sauce on my plate. This place is so not worth it anymore....It used to be a decadent adventure, but was worth it. However, just like everything Modern-Day-Disney, it is just another overblown monetization of Walt Disney's dreams. SKIP! SKIP! SKIP! YOU WILL LEAVE HUNGRY.
