Ambiance is always low key and chill no matter how packed this place gets the vibe is always chill and never rushed.. as many places in city are crammed this one is no exception. After being say in between two dinner parties along the benches we felt smothered and opted for seats at the bar. Ofc, the chicken is worth it all. Its almost a crime to eat here and not have the crispy seasoned to perfection chicken drizzled with hot honey!!! 10/10 recommend! Enjoy

Booked last minute on weekday can only get table for 2 at 5:45 indoor (plenty free tables time slot for outdoor but not see anyone sit there) arrived on time was sat immediately. Staffs mostly good but some better than others. Tried the special baked clams (ordered twice) ginger carrot soup both are goods. Other dishes like shrimp spinach all tastes well. Had a couple rounds of cocktails all delicious!! Ppl started filling up after 6:30 but place not completely full. Got the bread pudding for dessert. Price wise not bad at all. Will come back when in town to try other dishes!

We stumbled upon this little gem just walking around on a Sunday night. We sat at the bar and ordered food which was delish! The bartender was so friendly and recommended the fondue, OMG! So happy he did. Small place but a great vibe. We be back for sure!

I have a weird schedule which leaves me ravenously hungry at approximately 9:15 PM on Tuesday and Thursday nights. After doing some research, I found that Blue Ribbon had a reputation for serving insanely good food at an hour when most are getting ready for bed. The menu is impressive as it is eclectic, and it can form the basis of a nightcap or a total blowout celebratory meal. Though this is a restaurant that will be visited again, my buddy and I ate here as if we would never return (in the most respectful way possible) and we had a great time. I especially enjoyed the skate, butternut squash soup, and the duck club.

Great food, prompt service and nice ambiance - there is nothing to complain about
Be the first to ReplyCan't believe we've never been here before.
Clubby, scene-y, still has some of that 80's feel of decadent excess. The room is pretty bare bones, but the people bring the glamour. Is that someone famous at the next table? It probably is. Or maybe they just have a lot of money. You will need it to eat here. My husband was shocked by the price of the ribeye with it's add-on, anchovy butter (and that is ala carte, mind you - delicious spinach and fries were separate). We started with the seafood plateau, which was one of the freshest and best I have ever had. Very professional service. We will be back when we are flush.
Be the first to ReplyDoes not disappoint.
Great service and food. The room has great energy and a classic feeling. The food is elevated from the norm so expect bright flavors and clever combinations. It's a good night out.

The very best - a casual yet incredible place that feels like you're going home to family. The service is excellent and food is exquisite. Ambiance is top-notch. Can't wait to eat here every time I land in NYC.

Loved the atmosphere and staff, we were celebrating something big and we felt very comfortable. They have a shrimp and fried green-veggie appetizer (yep, I forgot the name of the veggie), we inhaled it and should have ordered two more. Desserts were excellent - huge shout out to the "Bruno" dessert. One major problem that isn't their fault at all: We ate at Sylvia's in Harlem the day prior, and their greens have a different taste/texture, with other-worldly fried chicken. Sylvia's chicken was a bit juicier, with crispy tasty skin; the greens were sweet and boiled until really limp. Blue Ribbon's chicken breading was thick (which I prefer), but a little drier than Sylvia's. Tasted great, but not as flavorful. The greens were a bit too different - stiff and a bit bitter.

We enjoyed a nice dinner here on Saturday night with a group of friends. It's fairly small inside and the ambiance is dim without much character. Service was ok. Our waiter was just meh. No really warmth or personality. We ordered a bottle of wine and entrees. I was a bit surprised no bread was served. It seemed everyone enjoyed their entrees. I went with the fried chicken given this is one of the dishes for which they're known. It was VERY good. I would absolutely have it again. We had a really nice time, but this was due to the company and less so the setting. Not sure I'd be so quick to come back, knowing the volume of options locally. But I also wouldn't intentionally avoid as the food was great!

Cozy, perfect and traditional seafood spot - been there for years and wonderful on a weeknight. Make sure to get salt and pepper prawns and a nice piece of fresh fish.
Be the first to ReplyOne of our favorite delivery meals in the city.
The salmon is incredible! As is the fried chicken. Wish they would package with a little more care though, as the sauce gets too runny in transit.

We had a late night reservation but didn't get to our hotel until after midnight. They accept walks ins from 12-2am so we walked in at 1:45am on a Saturday night and were seated right away. Dimly lit, New York rap playing on the speakers, very chill yet romantic vibe. We ordered the cheese fondue, fried chicken and New York strip with mashed potatoes. We didn't love the taste of the cheese fondue, we didn't say anything but they noticed we didn't eat much and took it off the bill! Everything else was amazing - the fried chicken is an absolute must! I couldn't believe we were able to get such a great meal in a great atmosphere with amazing service at 2am.
Be the first to ReplyLoved everything about this wonderful spot.
It's cozy but comfortable and reservations are definitely recommended. We had dinner here just after Thanksgiving weekend and were wowed by the food and the service. The onion soup was perfection. The bread - warm and delicious but try not to fill up on bread because the main course was excellent. We had the fried chicken and the New York Strip - both dishes were prepared perfectly - the steak was melt in your mouth good and the fried chicken rivaled anything we had tried before. Do not miss this great restaurant!

Beyond good! It was crowded and no tables were available, but they accommodated our take out order with great service! I ordered the steak and the food was absolutely amazing! Customer device again was a 10/10!!

We came here for an anniversary and we were given a table on what must have been the busiest holiday weekend Saturday. Restaurant was packed. We ordered Fried Chiken and Seafood soup both very delicious. The fois gras was so so and the two wines were ordered weren't in stock so we ended up ordering per glass which was good (they gave us a try which was nice and quite helpful). The waitress was chatty and in a good mood. A man who must have been a manager walked around and asked if everything was ok. The appeal of this place is that it usually stays later than other restaurants in the area. Nice bar cocktails!
Be the first to ReplyThis place never changes, it's always great.
Tonight I had a half dozen raw clams, which are impressively presented nested in ice on a circular stand. The clams were fresh and full of flavor. I also had the MP lobster in the shell. It was amazing-perfectly cooked, ample sized, not too wet like they can be if boiled at home. It came with a baked potato and sour cream, an ear of corn and a small loaf of bread with butter. The service was impeccable even though the restaurant was very busy this Saturday evening. The room is very comfortable and the lighting is relaxing.
Be the first to ReplyFirst time dining here at Blue Ribbon Soho.
Service was on point, friendly and helpful. We started with a seafood plateau. A dozen oysters, crab salad and shrimp cocktail to share. This was marvelous and gone in seconds! For dinner I ate the skate with potato hash. I loved the buttery flavor and texture and the light frying of the fish. The hash is also great with bits of bacon, shrimp and potatoes. My gal got the sweet and spicy catfish and loved it. Texture and flavor was perfect. It came with mashed potatoes and crispy spinach. Cocktails were also delicious. 5 star!
Be the first to ReplyWonderful service.
Great outdoor dining set-up, including heaters. Food was fabulous. My sister and mom said the lamb was one of their favorite meals ever. Everyone loved their dinner choice and dessert. The cherry on the top was the service

Would have easily given 5 stars but the server makes it a challenge. Dined here party of 3 on a slow Monday evening for the first time. After asking the server for some recommendations we were told that our question was irrelevant. He then went on to explain to us what a more relevant question would be. He actually said "a more relevant question would be.... It was a bizarre not to mention rude way to introduce oneself to us first time diners. And the drink order took an unusually long time to be served and then it was 1 drink while the other 2 waited a longer period of time. At least bring them all at once... that's just basic server protocol 101.All that being said the actual meal was outstanding and despite the server we look forward to the next time... hopefully again and again. As far as the food is concerned it is highly recommended. One of the best meals in NYC we've enjoyed in a long time. Finally, the room has zero ambience and is in desperate need of a makeover. The decor simply doesn't match the amazing cuisine.

I liked blue ribbon sushi and Izakaya a lot, but never had the chance to try out blue ribbon brasserie. It turned out to be one of my favorite restaurants around the area! Fried chicken is always good. The skin is thin and crispy and the inside is juicy. They paired it with honey and hot sauce. We also ordered the paella. It's aromatic but not too salty. It tastes very moist, unlike the more traditional Paella but still tasty. The bone marrow is good, a bit hard to eat but definitely a fun dish. The portion is huge for both appetizers and entrees.

Best fried chicken in New York! I've been coming to blue Ribbon for so long because I've always loved their oysters and seafood options. Last night I went in because it was my boyfriends birthday and he really wanted their fried chicken. I've never had it before because I stuck to what I knew but boy was I shocked. The honey they add to pour over the chicken adds to the already delicious flavor and the mashed potatoes it comes with is sooo creamy and tasty! the service is always top tier and now I have more of a reason to visit. I want to bring my entire family here just to try their fried chicken! For some reason I did not get a pic of the fried chicken but everything else we ordered was delicious as well!
Be the first to ReplyCame on a weekend night with friends with a reservation.
They were able to seat us promptly. The atmosphere was busy but the service was attentive. 1. Mr Green Jeans - Good, strong and delicious!2. Oysters - Pretty standard, good selection and not a terrible price for NYC3. Escargot - 4.6/5. Good and came out hot as it should. No bread though.4. Fried chicken - Easily the most popular dish here. Comes with a few pieces which we took home. The skin is crisp and the meat tender!5. Lamb - A bit more raw than I would like but very flavorful nonetheless.Overall, I would try this place at least once!
