Boon Tong Kee @ Balestier Singapore Reviews from The Last Year
Located luckily enough very close to my hotel.
Went there for the chicken & rice. Man it was fantastic. Both the wife and I destroyed our plates. Service was good zero complaints.
Good food with fair service
Had their famous chicken . Included on the package for our group was soup , vegetables and sweet sour pork. Food was tasty. Service was quick since we had ours pre ordered.
Iconic poached chicken rice
Pleasantly greeted at door and ushered to a table for two. A chair was quickly provided for my large bag. We requested drumsticks for our chicken rice for two and dish of succulent pieces came atop some cucumber slices. Though we're very fond of the deep-fried soyabean cubes, settled for the naibai with gluten. Both dishes were delicious though seasoning (chilli sauce, rice, soup in the veg n gluten dish) was a bit heavy for our bland-preference palates. Rice is served in very small bowls so if you like, can order more plain rice to go with seasoned dishes. There's a wide variety of other zichar dishes so very good for large groups. There's a 10 per cent service charge and 8per cent GST but bill came to a very reasonable $34 or so minus the chargeable wet towelettes. Checked tablecloths and paper lantern lamps make for a nice 70s decor, so comfortably nostalgic as this is the original store nicely done up.
Boon Tong Kee remains one of the great chicken rice
Boon Tong Kee remains one of the great chicken rice stalwarts in Singapore. This location in Balestier is frequented by families, solo diners, couples, and tourists. The chicken and the rice are superb; the chicken breast, though a traditionally chewier and drier meat, does a splendid job showcasing the natural flavor of the chicken. Thigh meat is juicier and has an irresistibly smooth texture. The other dishes here are also worth ordering: the crispy tofu and the 农家炒粒粒 (medley of bean curd, beans, pork, peanuts) deserve special mention. Service is quick & efficient - there is a buzzer to flag attention.
Great weekend lunch!
I brought my family for a lunch, it was full packed on a weekend as always but it was always worth it. Fantastic Chicken Rice, probably one of the best in Singapore.
A flavorful journey
Their famous Hainanese chicken rice was perfectly cooked and flavorful, paired with a variety of delectable side dishes. The crispy fried tofu and stir-fried greens were exceptional. The warm and attentive service added to the cozy ambiance of the restaurant. The only downside was the limited seating, but it didn't take away from the overall great food and experience. Highly recommend this restaurant for a taste of authentic Singaporean cuisine. Rating: 4*
Nice for other dishes too
I'd say the chicken rice a bit overrated. Chicken is bland but its good the rice is not oily! Pork ribs, crispy tofu are very good.
Chicken and more
Brought some overseas friends to sample some of the dishes. We had half roast and half boiled chicken. The vegetables, tofu, seafood in yam were ok. Service average. Value and pricing also ok, $40 per pax
Delicious
We used to visit this area and we interested with this restaurant because it always looks full. We had to queue at that time. I took lunch here with my wife and we ordered chicken, egg and some others. All food were very delicious. Service also good. Food ready quickly.

Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.

Can come from a lot of places, people who don't want to get charged their cancellation fee or people who just have them and cant go.

almost all restaurants aren't affiliated with AT and I'm guessing it's mostly people wanting to not pay cancellation fees.
