Really nice atmosphere- classic steakhouse vibes, so dark
Really nice atmosphere- classic steakhouse vibes, so dark and moody. Our server was helpful and they even put a birthday candle in our dessert. Overall the food was good - we ordered a special, which was a dry aged porterhouse, but we wished we had gotten the ribeye. The porterhouse leaned pretty dry even at medium rare. I agree with others it would've benefited with more salt. I like the sauce flight option a lot but I wouldn't say the sauces are great. The patata bravas had a great seasoning but we were told they were crispy potatoes, and they came out very soft. The sticky toffee pudding was definitely the star of the night. It was well balanced for such a sweet dessert. Cocktails were also great. Just FYI valet was not available when we went since previous reviews had mentioned a valet. We also had an unfortunate experience with my reservation - it was cancelled due to another event and the manager left a message to reschedule us and offer complimentary drinks or appetizer. I called back and left a message to reschedule and asked if brunch also offered the dinner menu, and no one ever called me back or reached out to me so I just made a new reservation on my own. That left a bad taste in my mouth since I had reached back out with a question and no one followed up.
Be the first to ReplyI truly enjoyed my dinner at Chops.
I had a great filet mignon which was butter tender and cooked perfectly. The sides and popovers also were tasty. The desert (crรจme brรปlรฉe) was average but they made up for it with their Chops Manhattan. The bartender very personable.

My go to steak spot!!! I've been here a dozen of times and have never had a bad meal ... or bad service!!! This place is so classy and chic inside, and the prices a reasonable for a nice steakhouse. Anywayyyyy ... gotta give this place a BIG FIVE STARS for how they treated us for my BFs dinner in January!!! Late review (d/t study life) ... but better late than never. We had a decent sized party that got a "little" rowdy with shots upon shots BUT still respectful, and our server was superb!!! She was friendly AND assertive ... and even said that we weren't bad at all. LOL!!! Everyone liked their food and their drinks and had the besttttt time!!! I wish I had gotten pix of all our food, but I was too busy having fun. Everything was amazing though. PROMISE!!
Be the first to ReplyLet's start off with it was Valentine's Day, first one
Let's start off with it was Valentine's Day, first one after my husband and I found out we were having a baby so this one was special. I'm a registered nurse and my husband wanted to do something nice for me after all the working I've done. He booked it for 815, I called at 757 spoke with a woman and told her we would be running late and she said that she will hold it for 15 minutes and if we arrived more than 15 minutes late they would try to accommodate us I told her ok. Then parking was a nightmare we managed to get there by 835pm and really disappointed. We came in gave the woman our name, no greeting from her by the way, she then said unfortunately "we gave your table away". She put her head down giving us no other options. Then she managed to say "you can sit at the bar if you'd like". Entire time no eye contact. When we realized we were backed into a corner we sat at bar. My husband was annoyed and could not shake it off. He then went to desk again and asked "if someone leaves can we be seated at a table?" She once again said no, and emphasized that "you were 27 minutes late." I was able to make a reservation with Grill 23 they were so accommodating and lovely. We decided to leave our car there and take an Uber up to Grill23. While we waited for Uber, this is where is gets good. I called and asked for manager and Lo and behold the manager picked up, Johnny. I preceded to explain the situation and he asked the name of reservation and I told him then he proceeded to speak while I was speaking and it was like that the entire conversation. He kept saying that we came late, we didn't call which we did at 757pm, but he kept denying it. Then he kept saying that we were inconsiderate knowing that it was Valentine's Day and they were booked. When he finally stopped speaking I asked him "can the customer speak without you speaking over me?" He exhaled, and kept quiet while I finished, got nowhere with that conversation. He was not empathetic at all, not apologetic and the customer was no where right this time and we were obviously liars. What got me was he asked, if you called, why would we cancel your table? I told him I called and once again we were lying. We came over to Grill23 and the minute we step foot on the stairs the door was opened and was greeted with eye contact and a smile. What a difference. I will send this to corporate as well because this was wrong from the very beginning. I worked in the restaurant industry for over 5 years before becoming a nurse, the Berkowitz family always drilled in us that customers were who we catered to and a smile and greeting goes a loooooong way.

3.5 stars. Good food and service with a nice variety of menu options. A bit on the pricey side, but not outrageous given the location. Sea bass was very tasty but should have been served with a better pairing than soba noodles. Mushroom risotto was delicious. Be careful ordering a cappuccino as you are given barely a couple of mouthfuls of milk froth coffee (only disappointment of the night). All in all a good restaurant.

Ordered a prime rib eye, bone marrow and loaded baked potato for myself. The cost was extravagant while the food was ordinary. Needless to say, I won't be back. The steak was equivalent to what I typically get in a supermarket and the bone marrow was over salted. The baked potato was pretty good though. Would have paid half of the $170. The only upside was the friendly and informative wait staff.
Be the first to ReplyHands down, best steak I have ever had.
The place is unreal! Highly highly recommend!

.ok. Friend and I each got the wagyu. Ordered mid rare definitely came on the more rare side which is ok for me. My steak was blannnnnd. The cut was fine but I was looking for some type of rub or pepper or anything, but on its own without the sauce the steak was unseasoned. My friend found that weird because he said he had chunks of salt on his. The cut of the steaks were good, and both the peppercorn and bearnaise sauces were good. Ps pornographic lesbians in the bathroom(see pic)? I found it comical so I'll add a half star.

tl:dr - read the menu carefully so you get the right steakOk before we get into it, I have to say the food was INCREDIBLE. Really well executed and delicious. But the purpose of reviews is to rate the whole experience, right? I really wanted this to be a 5, but there was one very significant issue we experienced and I'd like to share. Pre- theatre show with friends, we had booked an early 5pm reservation but when we arrived and realized we were the first customers in so we sat at the corner of the bar. Ordered oysters, they were OUTSTANDING. I've never had mignonette that flavorful before. Then we asked the bartender a few questions about the menu and put our dinner orders in.I ordered the sea bass and the 3 others all ordered the same steak. When our entrees came out, all 3 steaks were the wrong cut! Totally disappointed and called the bartender over. She was apologetic but pointed at the menu and said "well I wouldn't have asked you about these sauces if you had ordered the other cut..." etc etc. It took awhile to get the new steaks and we never asked to see a manager, but were still surprised at a restaurant of this caliber that no one came out to check on us after we waited 20 minutes for new steaks. I truly believe this is a poorly designed menu issue. I'm in marketing and sometimes practicality is sacrificed in the name of design, and that was the car with the unclear "steak frites" area of the menu. A quick explanation before we ordered would have solved the issue! I wish I had taken a picture of the menu but here we are. Anyway I adored the food. And the decor was splendid!
Be the first to ReplyHad my 60th birthday celebration there lat night.
John, the General Manager, made sure it was extra special. His staff and service were. amazing. Cocktails: We started with a variety of cocktails, they were sophisticated and on point. Appetizers: Shrimp cocktail, as fresh as it gets. Onion tower, unique and fun. Popovers were buttery and light. Mains: Most of the group had filet mignon it was cooked to perfection accompanied by delicious sauces we all shared. The vibe was upscale "cool" and I highly recommend Boston Chops for any occasion. Can't wait to go back. Job "we'll done"!
