High end steakhouse in the Waldorf Astoria
Michael Minaโs restaurant located in the Waldorf Astoria. Came here in a group of 14 for a post-proposal celebration and we had a reservation at 8pm, but we didnโt get seated until half an hour past the time on a Saturday evening. Valet parking only ($10 with validation). Indoor and outdoor dining available. Credit cards accepted. Restrooms located outside of the restaurant in the hotel by the ballrooms. The service was nice when they were present, but there were long stretches of waiting after getting seated, while waiting to order, and while waiting for the check. Food-wise, the amusebouche was a tuna bite on top of a rice cracker (the middle was a bit soggy). We opted to do family style so we could try more things. The tomahawk is good for 2-3 people to share and comes with 2 sides. It comes with table service, so if you enjoy pomp, itโs a good dish to order. The brussel sprouts and the truffle Mac and cheese were the best options. The mushrooms would be the next best thing. The asparagus was too buttery and the mushroom risotto was a bit bland. I liked the complimentary bread provided, while the complimentary fries were just okay (some had too much rosemary on it). I liked that they did give the option of 3 dips. We also got the NY striploin which had a slight funk, and was preferable to the tomahawk. In my opinion, the wagyu was the best tasting cut. The consensus was that the tomahawk could have used more seasoning/salt. Dessert-wise, they gave us complimentary chocolates which had ganache filling. We got a chocolate bar which had honey ice cream on the side. I got a pot of green tea (they have jasmine and sencha for those tea aficionados wondering). They also gave us caramel popcorn as a parting gift. It was definitely an experience to splurge but I have mixed feelings about the food and service.

Just wanted to say thank you to you guys. Not only did Judith and Teresa make a night that there were no reservations available, but we still had the pleasure to dine with all of you. Thank you for making it happen. We ended up sitting up the bar with Gerrit who treated us more than special. He welcomed us, was more than thorough on what we should order after getting to know us a little bit more. His service was prompt, the others that would come here and there to check on us went out of their way as well to make sure we were smiling. The food was fantastic. It is definitely not my first time but it was for Mike and it was his 84th birthday and he was just absolutely blown away. The restaurant downstairs which is a bit newer at the monarch Beach resort had a manager that is new apparently and when he learned that we wanted to table upstairs even though it was full he too went out of his way to go find a table, came back down an escorted us back up to our chairs. Thank you bryce, first class service. Seems to be a theme there. And we will be back to visit what you are putting together downstairs really soon! Thank you monarch Beach resort and thank you bourbon steakhouse. What a team!

The ambiance is lovely if seated outside the restaurant facing the pools. Service is amazing! Geo waited on us and was great! We came here for M Minaโs classic tuna tartare which did not disappoint. The steak tasting menu, however, was a bit dry and a bit expensive at $195. We asked for medium rare but it tasted more like medium and dry. The service was great, Geo was attentive and patient. Not bad of a place to dine-in.

Exceptional
Inventive yet classic, outstanding service, exquisite food and flavors of interest. Thomas was our server and seemed to be able to read our mind at every step of our experience. He was wonderful and knew the menu very well. It felt like he got to know us quickly and was able to provide the best possible experience. We loved every moment.
To start, they serve complimentary fries that come with their own seasonings and sauces. Iโve never experienced anything like it. All of them were delicious. They also served a roll with butter and truffles- also amazing. My husband ordered a red wine, and I didnโt feel like a whole glass. Thomas was so nice and gave me a little splash since it was my birthday. Like I said - exceptional service!!
We decided to order the char broiled shrimp with butter and the ribeye trio special- and both were so delicious. We loved the snake river steak the most. The sauces paired with the steak so nicely (we ordered bรฉarnaise, red wine, and peppercorn sauces). We also couldnโt resist the truffle mac and cheese, which was absolutely delicious.
We took some of our food to go, since we just couldnโt finish it. We also received a complimentary birthday dessert- a yummy spice cake and ice cream. Thomas also provided complimentary chocolates and popcorn to take home. Wonderful experience!!! Better than chain luxury steakhouses such as Capital Grille, no question.
Fantastic Food, Amazing Service
We ate at this bourdon steak because we were in the hotel. this is our second bourbon steak experience. The first one, near where we live was good (not excellent but solid). This was so above and beyond. First, the staff were fantastic. I can't stress enough how wonderful and helpful they were. One even ran down the hotel to catch my scarf that blew off my lap.
Also the food was perfect, cooked exactly as we asked and there was so many little extras.
Last, the view was fantastic. Will be back when we visit the hotel again. It was wonderful

We chose this restaurant in part because our first date ended up at a Michael Mina restaurant, so we always try to visit his properties, but we'll be back again soon because the steak and the service were both delightful and I'm still dreaming about the duck fat fries.

Outstanding food, service and view. Iโve been a few times and the sampler steak entree that they have as a special quite often is the best. Definitely go in time to see sunset as you dine. I also love their truffle rolls hot out of the oven!

Wow. Amazing foods. The steak was so juicy that we wanted to ordered more. The Mac and cheese truffles was delicious! Iโm a foodie so YESSSSS the foods was hands down yummy!

Located in the Monarch Beach Resort with a fantastic deck for dining overlooking the golf course and ocean. The food was very good starting with the great French fries served with three sauces. Disappointed in the Ahi appetizer. Have had much better. It was not bad but just did not have great flavor. The Caesar salad was excellent and the filet was great. The wines were excellent but the service was very slow.

We ate here twice while staying at MBR and I am already dying to go back. We had Christian as a server one night and Lyle the other, these gentleman know their food! Chef's complimentary duck fat fries trio and their amazing truffle butter infused rolls are an amazing way to start the dinner experience. My friend and I shared the hot seafood platter and petite fillet followed by the beignets for dessert. Outstanding feels like an understatement for this meal. The second night we did their cold shrimp cocktail, hot king crab legs for a starter (big thanks to Lyle for that suggestion) and the ribeye tasting with a side of their lobster Mac n cheese. The only disappointment was that we were too full for the beignets this time. Seriously an amazing experience from start to finish.
