Great stop on our road trip.
Great sandwiches and friendly staff. We had the Cuban sandwich and the Pan con Bistec, both delicious.

The pork taco was really good as well. Can't wait to try more things there. O, and the plantains. O, and free chicken soup! Love this place
Be the first to ReplyBest Cuban food I've had outside of Miami.
The server was extremely courteous and even gave us a complimentary soup. The food was straight up DELICIOUS. The meat was so flavorful and the bread of the sandwich was to die for. Every time my travels bring me to Lafayette, I will always make sure to visit this delightful place.

I love the food here, like home cooking with a Cuban flair! Mojitos are delicious! Staff always courteous. A little pricey I find for home cooking even with the Cuban flair.

As a Cuban i know Cuban food and this is better than many restaurants in Miami! Everything is spot on. the steak was awesome, white rice and black beans spot on and the tostones were really good. The Cuban sandwich was well done as well beside the cheese. They use a processed Swiss cheese when the real sandwich should have real Swiss. Cheers!

This is probably my new favorite restaurant in Lafayette since Chopsticks closed for good because of the pandemic. We are from Chicago and are used to good Cuban food, since Chicago has quite a lot of it. Cafe Habana City is as good as any I have had anywhere, including Miami area. The owner walked around and talked to the customers. He obviously cares very much about quality. They have a full bar, and drinks are good, and the price is reasonable. Portions are generous, and we took the left-overs home and made a whole other meal for the two of us. We took some relatives who at first were not enthusiastic about having Cuban food (they wanted Cajun; how boring is that in Lafayette?) but they absolutely loved the food. The place is clean, nice interior, Cuban music, all in all very good ambiance. We will all be back.

Be the first to ReplyPretty good food! This is the second time we ate here.
We had the Ropa Vega and the Pork Rice and Black Beans. Plantains were amazing as always.

This is an incredible Cuban restaurant. The food is always hot and fresh and authentic! The owner has a heart of gold and works so hard! Staff is very attentive. If you have to wait longer than expected for your food, IT IS WORTH IT. If you're visiting from out of town.. this is the go to spot for your Cuban food.

I met a friend at Cafe Habana for lunch and it was just underwhelming to be honest. We arrived 10 minutes after opening, doors still locked and about 4 customers waiting in the lot for them to open the doors. My friend ordered the Cubano with sweet plantains which was fine. I ordered the Parrilada Habanera which was just fine as well. The grilled meat was exactly that... just grilled meat, no real flavor. I finally asked for a jalapeño sauce which helped quite a bit. The service was pretty slow but it could've been because we were the only people on the patio. I think I'll try a different Cuban restaurant next time I have a craving before I go back to Habana...
