This is an excellent restaurant serving amazing food and so worthy of their Michelin Star. The service was excellent and the staff were all very friendly, informative and professional. We had a chat with Lorna after our meal which made the evening.

We recently attended for a joint birthday treat, we chose the 7 course tasting menu with explorer wine pairing. Everything about Cail Bruich is sublime, from the service to the ambiance. We both really enjoyed a once in a lifetime opportunity to dine in such an incredible restaurant.

We visited in the evening and had the 7 course menu with a wine pairing. The food was of an exceptional quality and plated with immaculate precision. The service was professional and of a very high level. An exceptional restaurant.

The truth is, fine dining is pricey; however at Cail Bruich you never feel short changed in the least. You possibly wonโt think this matters but even the cutlery, plates and glasses ooze class. Even the menus & wine lists are a delight to the eye & touch. The interior is beautiful. Very understated in a chic & cool way that somehow promotes a confident certainty that your night is going to be special. The staff are personable, knowledgeable & seemingly always on hand. I imagine the last of these is due to well planned & detailed staff requirements being met to ensure the diner has a flawless experience. Oh and thereโs food too. Iโm 58 and itโs very rare that any food I have surprises me but thatโs what happened with every course I had. It was an otherworldly food consuming experience and utterly delicious. As an added bonus for me, as a wheelchair user, the whole night went as smoothly and hassle free as I could ever have hoped for. Itโs not always the case when eating out I can tell you. Bravo Cail Bruich

This is the best restaurant i have eaten in anywhere in the world. Our dinner for 4 was nothing short of outstanding. The Michelin Star it has been awarded in my view is better than other award winners. Dinner : Perfectly served and each course explained in detail by the staff. Wine : considered choice and excellent. Fine dining at its very best and we have booked again.

Good food, good presentation and great quality place. I had a meal here and loved the welcome, the service, the dish presentation and the way the waiter explained to the cooking steps of different dishes here as well as different meals that are on the menu. The place was not crowded and I loved it.

Visited for the first time. Wow. We both had the 5 course menu and the flavours were out of this world. The surroundings and service were also amazing. Only downside is the price of sparkling wine, 2 glasses ยฃ36. I know it fine dining but ....... Will definitely return and would recommend to anyone wanting to experience the highest standards of flavour.

What an absolute treat! Outstanding food, super friendly service made a wonderful afternoon. The sommelier was excellent and she was so knowledgable explaining each of the wines that accompanied our lunch. If you are a foodie โฆ itโs a MUST

We really enjoyed the food and atmosphere at the Cail Bruich. The food is excellent, every course was delicious. They changed the sweet dessert to a blue cheese tart, which was super tasty and they have a choice of alcoholfree drinks which suited the food very well.

Fantastic 5 course lunch - lovely combination of crab, mushroom, monkfish, venison and lemon/honey - difficult to choose a favourite course as they were all so good. Great service and wine to accompany.
Be the first to ReplyStunning food, very special
We went for the 5 course Taster Dinnerโฆ.absolutely superb cooking going on here, way, way above Glasgowโs other similarly 1 Michelin - star rated restaurant, Unalome(which I didnโt enjoy for lunch at all.) The interior photo on TA is out of date as the place as he been revamped and much improved for ambience IMO.Very stylish but tables feel quite intimate, even though the space is so small(which actually put me off for a long time.) Open kitchen in the background with the Head Chef herself clearly at the helm. Amuse Bouche were just exquisiteโฆFife Carrot didnโt sound promising but was unctuous.Hen of the Woods, an intense, exceptional mushroom dish with top notch black truffle, was a wow.Monkfish lightly BBQโd was a revelation.Sauces with dishes were generous and intense in flavour.Canโt stand places that are skimpy on sauces. Venison course was just okโฆthe meat was great but in this case, the sauce didnโt appeal to me. Dessert was very enjoyable but Michelin/fine dining places never hit top marks for desserts in my book - TOO refined. But overall, a superb experience with several really memorable courses. Husbandโs wine flight - the cheapest version of 3 on offer - he enjoyed because he loves trying different or unusual wines but the actual quality of the wines , we both thought, wasnโt great; two were almost โwateryโ yet they were coming in at ยฃ17 a (very small) glass. Bit of a disappointment and, to be honest, a bit of a rip off.I do wish wine in these places matched food quality. However, very pleasant, professional staff, very quick serving of each course.Would we go back? Definitely.

Absolutely outstanding dinner once again! Food was just amazing, staff very knowledgeable and friendly. Can't praise it high enough. Thankyou Chef Lorna and team for a fabulous birthday dinner!

Amazing food and service. Wine pairing was on point and we are keen to go back. I have been a few times before it achieved its Michelin star and twice now since. Iโm always happy with the standard of food and the knowledge within the staff.

My husband booked this a surprise for my 60th birthday and it was fantastic. We are pescatarians and an adjustment to the tasting menu was made for us. The food was exceptional and the optional discovery pairing (ยฃ85) of lobster tail and claw done to match the tasting notes of a particular bottle of Krug, we shared this and it was one of my favourite courses. There was a card waiting for me on the table with birthday wishes and our menu said Happy Birthday, a really nice touch and an absolutely yummy amuse bouche before the tasting courses. This was worth coming through from Edinburgh for and made my birthday really special, we both loved it.

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience on Saturday night and well worth the long journey. Food fabulous, with the highlight being the mushroom course. Interesting and unusual wines which complimented the food perfectly. Beautiful crockery, cutlery and glassware added to the whole experience. Staff, extremely well trained, knowledgeable and highly motivated. Lovely young and enthusiastic team with great passion and pride. I was surprised there was not more Scottish produce on the menu, however, what we had was superb. Thank you to all who gave us such a great night.

Open plan kitchens are all very well- not if you are assailed by kitchen smells on entry. Better extractors needed. Tasting menu fine, but well overpriced at ยฃ140. Try Six by Nico at ยฃ37 for value. ยฃ90 should buy an outstanding bottle of wine. Cail has the arrogance , or laziness, not to even bother to print out the ยฃ90 wine tasting menu. We took this shot in the dark, and drank average, truly forgettable wines. Service was hit and miss. The Buttery, The Gannet, Unalone, Chardon DโOr, Gamba all leave this restaurant trailing in their wake. Time for a rethink here. And better value for money offerings.
Be the first to ReplyHas 1 Michelin Star - should have 2, maybe 3
I was astonished at just how good this restaurant was. We have eaten at 3-Star Michelin restaurants all over the world and Cail is as good as some of the best. Each succeeding dish was as good if not better than the previous- all the way to the seventh and final course. The quality of the food was matched if not surpassed by the quality of the service. A must go.

Just the most wonderful five hours sitting at the chefs table for lunch. Every course from start to finish was beautifully presented and cooked to perfection. Highlights were the langoustine and the mushroom dishes. The Discovery wine pairing was interesting and introduced us to some new varieties. The staff were so friendly and knowledgable and watching the brigade in the kitchen in complete harmony with front of house to deliver such excellence was a true privilege. Paul and team you made my Christmas gift so memorable. We will be back.

We were lucky enough to book in for the evening of their soft opening after a major refurbishment, so new decor and new menu. The menu will probably have a few tweaks or additions to come but it seems unnecessary as everything we had was excellent and we were certainly full, several of the courses were truly exceptional. The decor is tastefully done creating an airy relaxed space, the staffing levels are high which meant service was super efficient, wait time between courses was consistent and of a perfect length. All the staff were lovely - polite and friendly service adding to the relaxed atmosphere. So to the food - the tasting menu format continues, a printed menu was available however we took their recommendation and let each course arrive as a suprise. I highly recommend this approach, it certainly added to the theatre of the evening. I wonโt list the dishes but everything from the hors dโoeuvres to desert was delicious, the saucing of the dishes in particular was outstanding. The dishes were packed with flavour but displayed a lightness of touch, some classic flavours were interspersed with some more unusual combinations which added to the anticipation for the next course. The wine offering was reasonably extensive with a leaning towards Old World wines, the price range was pretty reasonable considering the level of dining being offered. In addition there was a choice of three wine flights - this is never the cheapest way to drink wine with quantity being sacrificed for choice! However we decided to try one and it proved to be a good decision, the Sommelier was excellent and gave a really interesting description of each wine and itโs backgroundโฆ.the wines were all excellent and the matching to the food was particularly impressive. We treated ourselves to the most expensive flight, there is quite a big jump in price between the three options and as good as our flight was I would certainly be confident in trying the other two. The best fine dining we have had in some considerable time and certainly a highlight of the Glasgow food scene. 10/10

What a meal. Absolutely fantastic. We can't think of the right words to describe each course. Obviously each one was incredible. Hard to imagine food tasting so good. For example, normally you would never order raw scallops but if they present it then you think if must be right and boy was it good. Our favourite dish - the mushrooms. Have to start saving up to come again.

I have been trying to book all year after our last booking was cancelled due to COVID. Stalked the website when it opened to book for husband's birthday. Arrived a little late due to taxi not turning up. Settled in and had a champagne to start. Small taster came lamb kebab for hubby and a curry one on the vegetarian menu. Next a carrot tart and cheese bonbon for me and a salmon tart and cheese bonbon for hubby. We then went for the discovery wines with our food. First off a beetroot dish and a raw Orkney scallop. Next roasted pumpkin for me and lobster and langoustine for hubby. Next fab bread with mushrooms tart. This was my favourite paired with a super px. Next seabass and mine a roscoff onion. Next courgette for me beef for hubby. Cheese course cashel blue, nectarine, clootie dumpling, fig and pecan yummy. First dessert Pina colada, second dessert lavender honey, lemon oil oil sponge. Coffee and Madeleines. A journey like a fairytale - starters set the scene, dramatic middle and a crowd pleasing end.

An unforgettable meal. We booked the chefโs table as it was a special occasion and it did not disappoint - every single course was exceptional. The best Michelin star meal weโve ever experienced in a lovely unpretentious setting.

Unbelievably fabulous food. Taster menu was exceptional, using best Scottish produce. Extremely knowledgeable Sommelier and super wines. Only slight complaint was the overpriced glass of Krug...beware!
Be the first to ReplyInsane Blow Your Mind Awesome Food and Service. The Best in Scotland.
Was in Glasgow for a weekend trip and lucky enough to get a table via the cancellations list. In fact lucky is an understatement. From the moment we stepped in until the late hour they rolled me out it was a veritable feast of high-end delights. Munched our way through the tasting menu in around 4 hours and though filled to perfection would've happily done it again. Would do it now too. Difficult to pick a highlight as everything was out of this world but suppose the signature dish or mushrooms on toast with the chive milk bread takes it. Also and this is a big plus - as a non-drinker - the NA "gin" cocktails were also excellent. The Rose one is possibly the best I've had. If I was being Anton Ego Ratatouille critical the intermediate dessert of raspberry, yuzu, peach and lychee was less exciting but still very good. This is the kind of place where price is a secondary consideration. If you can afford it, do it. If you can't then save up - you won't be disappointed. Other restaurants with stars in Scotland you should take a look a Cail Bruich, there is much to learn. Really cool to meet chef Lorna too (suppose all patrons get the pleasure). Fanboy moment there. For the chance to go back I'd happily eat the next iteration off my dirty plates from last time! This meal will live long in my memory.
