Absolutely love this place.
I came here for a brunch early last year (2022) and really loved the food, service and ambience. My husband and I loved it so much that when we thought about places for a wedding celebration, we looked into Casa Ora. We were so happy we did because our wedding was magical. Rachel, the event manager was extremely helpful. She helped us with the menu, and referrals for cake and floral vendors. On the day of the wedding, everything ran smoothly. The food was again, wonderful, service, incredible and the atmosphere was perfect for what we wanted. Everyone couldn't stop talking about the food, drinks and ambience. We all enjoyed ourselves and I have had several friend go back for dinner, etc. I can't thank the team enough for making this day as special as it was. Thank you thank you, thank you!!!

Came here for a friend's birthday and was pleasantly surprised at how nice the experience was. From the minute I stepped foot in the restaurant, I was greeted by friendly staff. The interior is decorated tastefully and beautifully and it wasn't too crowded either (important criteria for NYC). I ordered arepas with pork and they were absolutely delicious. Warm, soft, and flavorful, and they paired nicely with the two sauces.Would definitely come back again just for the arepas.

Choosing Casa Ora as the spot to celebrate my boyfriend's 30th birthday was the right decision. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we had an amazing time. We were seated at a spacious and private corner of the restaurant with ample room to spread out and have a good time. I'm new to Venezuelan food, so I was excited to experiment with some new flavors. I ordered their Baby Shark, which contrary to the name, is not baby shark. It was a monkfish dish w/ plantains, coconut milk, aji dulce paste, and jasmine rice. The dominance of the coconut milk and aji dulce paste really surprised me. The dish was very sweet, which I don't usually prefer in a main course. The monk fish's smooth texture shone in the dish, beautiful presentation of all the different elements blended cohesively to deliver a unique culinary experience like no other. I could tell that the dish was well cooked but it was too sweet for my liking. I found myself eating lots of the fragrant jasmine to offset the sweetness. I also ordered a ginger lime mocktail which surprised me with its potent zing. I felt like a few sips of it were enough to knock out any brewing viruses in my throat. Finally, we ordered the quatro leches cake to close out the celebration. The staff brought it out with a candle, for my boyfriend's obligatory birthday wish. The cake was dripping with all the milks it had soaked up, and melt in your mouth although the texture was not as soft as I expected. It was still delicious.Another surprise came when we looked at the bill and saw that they had comped the dessert as a courtesy for our birthday celebration. Much love to the staff and chef for a wonderful celebration!
Be the first to ReplyGreat service!! All staff was very well trained and polite.
Chic interior design. Attention to detail with Venezuelan interior decor. Food was well cooked with nice presentation. Only reason I did not give 5 stars is because I wish there was more sauce to go with all the grains/vegetables on my dish. (I ordered the monkfish)
Be the first to ReplyLovely brunch here.
The staff were very friendly and attentive. We enjoyed everything we had- the only thing I would have liked is my dish to be a little hotter. It certainly wouldn't stop me going back to try more dishes. The decor was nice and cozy too.
Be the first to ReplyThis place was great and the service was amazing.
We went on a Thursday at 6pm and it was pretty empty. There was a very intimate setting. The decor looked great. The food was amazing. We had arepitas and they were the bomb. My husband had the brisket and I had the snapper. They were both soooo good. Sorry for the half eaten pics. We couldn't wait to dig in after the arepitas. Im not much of a drinker but the drinks were pretty good. I had the lime in the coconut. Could use a little less ice. Lastly, the cuatro leches. I wanted to love it but it was a no for me. Especially when I can make amazing tres leches myself. My husband was so disappointed because he's gotten used to me making tres leches and having it moist with the milk. This just tasted like cake with a weird after taste but next time we will try the flan.

My friends and I came on a Friday evening around 8 pm for dinner. Originally, they told us they couldn't seat us since we were a party of 7 for another hour, however, they had an outdoor space right in front of the restaurant that they offered to us. This outdoor space was really well built out, since it was colder than usual, they also had IKEA blankets and heat lamps above to help combat that. The service was slow. Incredibly slow to the point that it almost felt ridiculous. It took more than 15 minutes for the waitress to get to our table to order our drinks, appetizers and entrees. We ended up ordering our food all together, appetizers with entrees due to the fact that they were taking so long. In addition, to the slow wait in ordering our food, the food also took the longest time. I wish I was exaggerating BUT it took an hour to get our appetizers and entrees. Besides the long wait in getting our food, the food itself was good. I ordered the tequenos and the seafood paella. The tequenos were fresh and hot, and excellent with the sauces! The seafood paella that had octopus, squid, lobster, and shrimp, was alright. The flavor wasn't quite there, however, it was a generous serving size even though it may not look like it. Overall, the food was good across the table. This is a good spot for a cocktail or a place to catch up with friends if you don't mind the long wait for your food!

Ugh it's so hard to say anything bad about Casa Ora because of its great atmosphere and decorations. But we came here to eat and drink first of all so I cannot force to send a 4. Starting with the good: my friend and family liked the desert very much. The semi negative is about the food. Baby Shark dish was mediocre and so was the sampler appetizer. I ordered the green salad and the shrimp. Was expecting the shrimped to be grilled but the steamed version was not bad. The server did missed a drink but the staff quickly fixed it. Should be a 3.5 and I feel bad to decide between 3 and 4.
Be the first to ReplyWent here for dinner last night.
Overall the experience was great. Service: 4/5; our server was excellent. Attentive, kind and super personable.Food: a bit corn heavy for my taste but I'd go with 3.5-4/5Ambiance: Had a very 60s aesthetic. Lounge-like feel, especially, further in the back. We had a couple of appetizers (corn dumplings with tomato sauce and ground beef): empanadas (these were great - comes in 4 varieties); scallop (main) and the brisket/skillet. All accompanied by a bottle of Grenacha!Food overall (I thought) needed more flavor/spices (I don't mean spicier) - the sauces that accompanied the empanadas were perfect. Great experience and definitely recommend!
Be the first to ReplyAuthentic Venezuelan restaurant.
Very nice bartender but very weak drinks. Space is charming. Our waitress must of had a bad day not friendly at all. The asado negro for 2 stole the show. Shrimp appetizer pretty tasty. Red snapper also good. Hallaca and empanadas were very good..
Be the first to ReplyA truly underrated hidden gem a little further out in
A truly underrated hidden gem a little further out in Williamsburg. It was my first time trying Venezuelan food, and I figured this highly rated Michelin-recognized spot wouldn't disappoint. The interior is dark but warm, great for a date night. The prices are a bit higher to reflect the quality, so I opted for just an entree--the red snapper (I was about to get scallops but the waitress graciously told me it's the smallest entree on the menu!). The flavor was amazing! They snuck some cheese in which is why I think I enjoyed it so much and there's not a whole lot of dairy-free options on the menu. But the green sauce and fish were amazing. I didn't get any drinks but I'll probably be back for drinks and to try empanadas.
Be the first to Replyfood was very good and well prepared.
the sopressata was the best bite along with the bone marrow. definitely want to come back in the future!
Be the first to ReplyGood food.
Not fantabulous...like some other places in Brooklyn. Empanadas and salad good. Fish dish good. Drinks good. Nothing really mind or soul blowing. Got crowded and servers seemed not to be able to keep up but we're attentive and gave menu suggestions. Social distancing totally out the window here like in most NY places so if that's important - go early

Delicious food, amazing ambience and accommodating for larger groups. We enjoyed a variety of dishes and the drinks were on point.

Amazing ambiance and aesthetics of the restaurant! I really enjoyed all the food here. I've tried many different horchatas and this restaurant by far makes the best one. Definitely must get the empanadas and the chicken rice dish here. Will most likely come back!
Be the first to ReplyWhat a great dining experience right in the heart of my
What a great dining experience right in the heart of my neighborhood! Beautiful ambiance. Nice decor. Service was great. Food impeccable!! Very accommodating. Walking in this place you definitely feel a sense of class. It's so beautiful inside. Nicely lit bar area. Plush seats. Great wood tables. Plants all around. We were a group of 10. Celebrating my daughters 12th bday. The menu isn't that big which was great. We started with some Arepitas. Filling but small. Soooo good. They give you a nice variety of 4 different ones to choose from. You can have all 4 or choose the ones you'd prefer. My favorite was the bean one. Also came with some side sauces. One Spicy and one sweet. Both went well with the aprepitas. My daring child ordered the monk fish wrapped in sweet plantains. She wasn't a fan. We returned it and she got the paella. Which I also had. It was good. A little oily but very flavorful. Scallop dish was cute. Just 3 scallops so not that filling. Needed something else to accompany it to be full. Beef was amazing. Beans had great flavor. Dessert was yummy. Kids had the chocolate ice cream. Overall great time here. Would return.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing Venezuelan food, atmosphere and waitstaff.
Our waiter, Jacob was very friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. This is a location that you have to try if you're in the Brooklyn area! Delicious!!!
Be the first to ReplyHidden gem, you can usually get in without a reservation.
Food and drinks are great and good gluten free options. I love to split. The chicken was so good and the rice was like next level. I might have to order tonight. I've been a few times and always great!
Be the first to ReplyVenezuelan person's review:Honestly, I was super
Venezuelan person's review:Honestly, I was super disappointed. As a Venezuelan I was so excited to try a fine dining interpretation of Venezuelan food. Went with my Venezuelan friend for her birthday and we were wildly confused because this place is Michelin rated. A couple things were really good and everything looked quite pretty but the majority of the food was lackluster and so disappointing. I went in March. It was 45 degrees outside and it was freezing inside. The air conditioning was blasting. Cold food was one of the themes of the night. I will give it to them for the drinks. They were very good. We ordered the chicha and the chicha w mezcal and a margarita. Very good drinks 9/10. Never found chicha in the states so that was fun and nostalgic. We ordered the cachapas that claimed to have queso guayanรฉs. But they came out cold and the cheese was raw. That cheese needed to be MELTED and gooey. I sent it back to be warmed up, it came out Luke warm cheese still not melted. Very easy dish to make. The only criteria for a Cachapa is that the cheese is melted and that it's warm. Literally nothing else. Maybe the air conditioning on a cold night was making everything cold but. Super disappointing. I give them 3/10. I would have kept some full corn kernels in them and made them on the fire grill or something to elevate them and have a rustic feel. Missed opportunity for Instagramable cheese pull videos. *sigh*We had the Tequeรฑos. They were also mediocre and cold. 5/10Guasacaca was really good though. So nice job on that. Next we had the Hallaca which was honestly really good! And it was beautiful. Loved it. One of the only successful dishes we ordered. I applaud this one. Best thing we had all night. Beautifully and authentically elevated. I wish the rest of the dishes took this same approach. Simple and reflective of Venezuela but also so sophisticated. 9.5/10Plรกtanos maduros were standard. 10/10Finally we ordered the Asado Negro, we were so excited this is a traditional Venezuelan dish. It claimed to be braised for 48 hours and came with arepas on the side. For being the most expensive thing on the menu for like $60 or something it was pretty much inedible. This dish is supposed to be sweet but It was wayyy too sweet, the fennel on top was super weird and off putting the dish was not balanced at all. Worst of all, the meat was tough! It came with the saddest arepas I've ever seen in my life. They were made in a mold *sigh* and pre-cut in half. *sigh again*. And not to mention cold as hell. This dish was too big, too expensive and too sweet. Presentation was ok. 1/10. AREPAS are the core of Venezuelan cuisine and they need to made by hand. The were rushed made in mold and felt like a lazy attempt to mass produce arepas. They felt stripped of their identity it was truly tragic. No fingerprints, no sign of passion or love put into them. And they were freezing and dense and floppy. They were cold because they're were precut down the middle. I don't know if they were trying to make it easier for non Venezuelan people to eat or something but cutting your own arepa is part of the experience and shouldn't have been erased for sake of convenience. Please dedicate some people to make these by hand please please please. Again if you want to elevated them throw them on a fire grill or something don't put them in a mold. The customer should be able to cut their own open or have the waiter do it and watch all the steam come out of the inside. Opportunity for a cool experience here. Me friend and I tried to put that tough meet in the arepa. We both took one bite and couldn't eat anymore. It was so bad we requested to speak with the owner. He was a bit defensive but after hearing we were Venezuelan and we know what it should taste like he switched up and took it back and took it off our bill. I really want to support Venezuelan businesses but this place does not reflect the richness of Venezuelan food, nor do I think it elevates it in an authentic way. 3/10 overall experience. My notes to the owner would be to stay true to Venezuela and don't do things to try to appeal to the masses. Allow people to have a memorable and unique experience, don't be scared to have to educate guests on the culture. Arepas should be hand made slightly crispy on the outside and warm and fluffy on the inside. Not cold, precut floppy and dry. The fact that this place messed up some of the most quintessential Venezuelan dishes to me shows that there is no story trying to be told here. This restaurant felt performative. I hope they figure out what story they want to tell because to me it seems like Venezuelan food stripped of its identity to appeal to the gringos. Hope Casa Ora figures out what their identity is. I hope one day to return for a redeeming experience. Good luck Casa Ora. Rooting for you guys but had to give my honest opinion.
Be the first to ReplyBack in March Casa Ora hosted the.
..MI CASA ES Tร CASA (ORA)FAMILY MEALFREE 3 COURSE PREFIXWith thanks to my Cuzzo I was able to attend. A pre-set menu with limited availability and absolutely no substitutions. Each night the menu was different. You were more then welcome to order additional items for purchase off of the regular menu a la carte. On the night we attended the prefix menu consisted of the Tostones, Bollitos Pelones, and Maitake. To be fare this is hard for me to review because I am not a fan of some of the ingredients used in a couple of the dishes. Not much to say about tostones except for more would have been great. The Bollitos Pelones, it was a nice presentation and flavorful. I enjoyed the heat of the spices, however I'm not fan of any the "impossible" meats and that was one of the ingredient used. For the Maitake the main ingredient was mushrooms, which I do not eat so my Cuzzo took mine to go. Again the presentation was lovely and she said it was extremely tasty and even hearty. So like I said hard to review, of course those were items that I would not normally go for but the menu was a surprise. The staff was extremely nice and accommodating. Given the tight schedule, we arrived super early, they were able to seat us anyway and also allowed us to switch tables to be more comfortable. Looking forward to dine here again and give a true review. I was just happy for the time spent with my Cuzzo (Minah M).Just A Note:Absolutely love the ambience, the lighting and decor is super intimate. The greenery makes it extra cozy. Looking forward to returning for decor alone.
Be the first to ReplyI went here for their promotional free 3 course meal.
The ambiance is warm. They have a large indoor space as well as outdoor seating (heated in the winter). My fellow Yelper and I shared the appetizers which were empanadas with meat or cheese. They were so dang good. Lots of great flavor. I'd order again. Next we had a creamy black bean soup. It was creamy with a lot of great flavor. Next was the chicken and rice. I usually shy away from white meat but the chicken was so tender and juicy and flavorful. The yellow rice was also magic in my mouth. I ate everything and was full by the end of the meal. I also ordered some cocktails. I either got a margarita or an old fashion. I can't remember which, or maybe both but there were no complaints. The arrangement of the dining area in the back was a bit awkward. If you sit in the corner or far end you have to maze through tables of people but it's worth it. Great place for a lone meal or drink (because they have a large bar area in the front). It's also great for groups of friends or family for a meal. You can't go wrong!

Casa Ora is the perfect date spot - such a beautiful inside, dimly lit and gorgeous decor, and I loved the green velvet seating! Also I enjoyed all of the food and drinks here - I was so happy to try a variety... both food and cocktails are on point! These Bollitos Pelones and the Maitake were excellent!

I wish I could give this restaurant 10 stars!! Everything was excellent from the decor to the food to the perfect service (Laura was out waiter and she was exceptional). We decided to go with street foods tonight and ordered guacamole and Arepitas to share. The guac was super fresh and served with plantain chips which I loved. The Arepitas were perfect to share ( 4 came in an order, ย chicken, beans, pork and beef) also very flavorful and paired with 2 different sauces. We also ordered the ceviche because it's something we love to order at different restaurants and compare them. The ceviche at Ora was BOMB! Over the top delicious and the flavors were amazing. The acidity of the oranges in combination with the freshness of the fish and avocado was excellent. Now the drink.... I am a light drinker so that being said I found this drink super strong and unable to drink however Nick thought it was great. By this time we had no room for main dishes.Casa Ora was amazing and we can't wait to come back with friends and family.

As soon as i walked in i saw that Casa Ora has a Michelin Star 2021 sticker so i was only expecting greatness and that's what we got throughout our dinning experience. I tried Casa Ora with a couple of my friends around 1:30pm on a Sunday. We made reservations before hand. Since it was brunch time we started off with some Bellinis and of course i had to try the fresh squeezed Orange juice. We had a few appetizers because everything on the menu looked delicious. The guacamole and chips was great, as well as the Venezuelan tamale and arepitas which brought 4 different ones. For entree i got the Cachapa and it did not disappoint. This was my first time at a Venezuelan restaurant and the food/ vibes was fantastic.

Tried this place out the other week as they were having their family style free three course meal event. For the event, we were served a guac app, dumplings and a maitake dish. My sister and I decided we to add on and try the ceviche and yucca fries. The guac app was solid and flavorful. The dumplings were a little weird in texture due to using impossible meat and the sauce wasn't as flavorful as I was expecting. The maitake was definitely the star of the show and surprisingly filling. Underneath the mushrooms, there was a bed of nuts that added a wonderful taste to the dish. The add-ons we ordered were also solid. The ceviche was interesting with a more passion fruit flavor compared to the traditional lime juice flavor. Additionally, the yucca fries were out of this world and paired with very nice dipping sauces. All in all, it was a solid and delicious night. The restaurant was so kind to put on a free community meal and would definitely recommend anyone in the area to try this spot out. (4/5)
