Repeat visit probably our fifth time.
Our selections included vegetarian, also rack of lamb and lamb with eggplant as well as fish with chermoula sauce. The lentil soup and salad were delicious,as usual. B'astilla with chicken or vegetarian type. My only complaint is that we were rushed this time and that never happened before. We were the first group seated @ 6 pm and the salad came as we were finishing our soup, then the b'astilla as we were finishing the salad. Then the main course. We had an excellent meal but with a little more time to savor the flavors it would have been perfect

Love how you sit on the little cushions, like kind of sitting on the ground but not lol. The spicy Moroccan coffee was my favorite

I was a little hesitant going to this restaurant because I couldn't be assured that this was authentic Moroccan cuisine. I will tell you it was pretty authentic. The washing of the hands, the delicious food, eating with our hands and the mint tea. Everything was perfect for our friend's birthday dinner!! The staff was attentive and knowledgeable and very caring and answered all of our questions! The food was moist and well seasoned. I loved all of it I will be back again. It felt like home.

Be the first to ReplyBeautiful place to eat and great service.
It's a set menu. You get to pick your main entree. Pace yourself because it's a good amount of food . The tables and chairs are not a traditional restaurant style. The table is lower and some will sit on cushions on the ground. I sat on the cushion on the ground and my back started hurting by the end of the night (just not used to it). So if you go with a group, I recommend getting a corner table, so less ppl sit on the ground cushions. The meal starts off with the server bringing warm water to the table to wash your hands. Each person gets a lentil soup. Perfect lentil to soup ratio. Delicious! The appetizer comes with an array of different salads to share as a table. The salads were all tasty and refreshing. The server brings house maid bread to eat with the salads. Next is B'stilla, a dough stuffed with minced chicken and almonds. I've never had this before so wasn't sure what to expect. It was delicious with the flavors of the saffron chicken and the almonds. But it was more dense than I had expected, so I didn't eat too much of it because I wanted to save room for my entree. For my entree, I chose the Cornish hen with preserved olives and lemon. RECOMMEND! The Cornish hen was so soft. Perfectly cooked. The preserved olives and lemon paired very nicely with Cornish hen. My friend ordered the lamb special. I usually don't order lamb because I'm scared its gamey but I had a bite of my the lamb and it surprised me! It wasn't gamey and was so moist! RECOMMEND! Dessert, you get a small funnel cake and home made biscotti. The funnel cake is crispy and sticky from the honey. I really liked the funnel cake. When you think it's done, the server brings out a cup of warm fresh mint tea. My friend dipped her biscotti into the tea (genius move). At the end, you get to wash your hands again and the server splashes orange blossom water onto your hands and on top of your head. It's a refreshing experience! There's a few parking spots out front. I would recommend Casablanca! It's a wonderful and unique dinning experience!
Be the first to ReplyAwesome experience with really good food & service.
BYOB or wine was accepted as well.

Seems like quite a hidden gem! I've never heard of this place but a friend suggested it so we went to try it out since none of us had been. I think I drive past it once in a while but have never looked into it! I'm so glad we did though! The interior is so cute! It feels like you're in a completely different place, not in Kailua. It's also quite small so reservations are a good idea. We were sitting on cushions and it was so intimate. Our waitress was so kind and calm. She explained everything to us. We started with hand washing at the table and that was already such a unique experience. The menu is set mostly but you can choose your protein dish. There were so many courses and so much food. We started with soup, then a salad of different appetizer type options, then a phyllo dish which was maybe my favorite, then our lamb or fish dish, and then a dessert! We also finished with mint tea which was lovely. The food was all delicious and felt very authentic. I've never been to Morocco but feel like I was really able to have great experience of it here! It's also BYOB but you pay a fee per person. It was such a great experience and I would recommend it to anyone. Will be back!

Great atmosphere and great food exclamation nice place for a romantic dinner or a group of friends. They do BYOB not sure what the corkage fee is.
Be the first to ReplyDon't get me wrong, it was a really nice experience, that's
Don't get me wrong, it was a really nice experience, that's what you're really paying for. The food was alright, the highlight was the bastilla, for me. However, it felt more like a dessert instead of an appetizer, sweet. Their "salad" was fun to eat, with bread, but the main course took so long that we weren't that hungry by the time it came. I had the honey lamb, off-puttingly sweet that I ended up giving it to my husband, and then I took his dish which was pretty yummy. It was the lamb with prunes. All in all, it was an ok experience, but wouldn't crave to come again.

So yummy and such a great vibe. 100% would recommend.
Be the first to ReplyThis place is AMAZING.
Can't recommend it enough. Just make a reservation and go, you will not be disappointed
Be the first to ReplyFirst time here and it was a wonderful experience.
Staff are friendly, ambiance , service and food was wonderful. Note: it's a set menu of 5 course meal. We didn't feel overly stuffed nor did we felt under stuffed. Perfect for me and my husband. Definitely recommend! Minus 1 star only due to furniture very worn down and maybe needs replacement.
Be the first to ReplyOne of the most unique cultural dining experiences I've
One of the most unique cultural dining experiences I've ever had in Hawai'i! Casablanca is a true gem and imo it's Kailua's best kept secret. The ambiance, the food, and the entire experience feels like it transports you straight to Morocco. I brought my boyfriend here for his birthday and we both immediately want to go back with our families. He's a very no-frills kind of guy who likes hearty meals and unique foods he can't cook at home - and that is exactly what you get here. There were so many dishes I had never heard of! My favorite type of meals are the ones that allow me to learn about another culture through their cuisine. I can't emphasize enough how much we enjoyed it here. We got Harrira Soup, Moroccan Salad, B'stilla, Lamb Tagine with Eggplant, Fresh Fish Charmoula, and Chabbakia with Fresh Mint Tea. We had the prix-fix menu for $54.50 each for 5 courses. I love how it feels like you're dining in a beautiful yurt - tapestries coat the walls and you sit on low stools on the carpeted floor. At the beginning of your meal, they bring a basin, a kettle of water, and some towels so that you can wash your hands at the table. Yes, you eat with your hands here! It sounds simple but my favorite dish was the harrira soup. It's a lentil & tomato soup and the flavors of saffron and cilantro made it richly delicious. The b'stilla was the most interesting dish of the night - it reminded me of a baklava but with saffron chicken inside. It admittedly wasn't my favorite (I don't think I'm a fan of chicken with powdered sugar) but I loved trying it! My lamb was also super tasty and tender enough for me to pull off the bone with my fingers. I called ahead of time to make a reservation, and I would recommend doing that just so you ensure you get a table. There's a tiny parking lot in front of the restaurant, otherwise I think you'll have to find street parking. I will most definitely be back to Casablanca again soon - I highly recommend!

My husband and I are trying to work our way around the world with different world cuisines found in Honolulu. Casa Blanca is and will be remembered as a wonderful Moroccan experience in ambience, decor, and service. Our server was exceptional in every way possible; kind, informative, friendly, helpful, and passionate about the food. She helped us understand the foods and some of the customs of the service. Casa Blanca was truly an step into another country, including the background music. The meal we had was carefully crafted and a decidedly unique experience. We enjoyed the entire meal from the hand washing with water being poured over our hands up to the tea service at the end of the meal. We still can't figure out how they made the rack of lamb so so good.It was our 49th anniversary. Casa Blanca has become one of our most memorable dining experiences.
Be the first to ReplyThis was such a different and interesting experience! Why?
This was such a different and interesting experience! Why? Because they don't give you utensils, you eat with your hands. They do come around at the beginning to help you wash your hands off. When you look at the menu, there is a list of the dishes you get that are shared amongst the table. All you need to do is choose the entree you want. The starter of lentil soup was amazing! I definitely didn't want the bowl to end. The appetizer sampler platter was also good and tasty. I chose the fish with a tomato based sauce for my entree and really liked it. I would say the only disappointing part was the dessert. We didn't really care for it as it was too sweet but that didn't ruin the meal as we were full. It's BYOB and there's a liquor store on the next block (around the corner) if you forget to bring something.
Be the first to ReplyThe portions were a bit small, I was hungry when we left
The portions were a bit small, I was hungry when we left still. The lamb was so good! I it was so darn good and moist and tasteful....if there was some rice or more bread, it would have helped with the sweetness of the dish. It's was too sweet to eat without carbs. The appetizers were good, but for 2 people, it wasn't enough to share. My 7 years old would have been able to eat the whole plate platter himself. The ambiance was a relaxed kinda vibe. I believe it was about $50 a person I want to say. You need to rsvp when they open. They fill fast! It was a great experience and I would go again!
Be the first to ReplyBring a bottle of wine and have a great evening.
Fantastic food and atmosphere every time.
Be the first to ReplyWhat an incredible place and experience.
I had been here many years ago when I was in the Marine Corps and remember it fondly; glad to say Casablanca is better than ever. A couple things about it:1) it's very low key and inconspicuous from the outside - it may not show up on a restaurant search for Kailua.2) everything is made fresh and in house- this will become apparent from the first bite.3) An excellent value....a five course meal for $60 is hard to beat...especially when it comes to this quality of dining.4)BYOB - but you may become distracted from your wine by the mind blowing mint tea.My girlfriend and I each had the 5 course pre-fixed menu with the rack of lamb as our main course. All I can tell you is that prepare for an experience. As a snapshot, the lamb itself was perfectly cooked, seasoned, crusted, and none of this drowned out the flavor of the outstanding lamb itself. The only reason my review is not 5 stars is that the service is a bit slow....one server and a family operation, so do not plan on being in and out. That said, you don't want to miss this spot!
Be the first to ReplyNot being familiar with Moroccan cuisine I'm not qualified
Not being familiar with Moroccan cuisine I'm not qualified to testify to there authenticity but if they are true to Moroccan expectations the Moroccans enjoy bland unseasoned and boring food. For starters the bread was hard, dry and crumbly withNo flavor. The appetizer plate had hummus unseasoned, canned olives and a tomatoey onion concoction quite unremarkable. The main course of lamb kebab was tasty and well cooked but the fish thing, the squab thing uninteresting and off tasting while the final main of rack of lamb soaked in who knows what kind of sauce. At $60. A head I rate it pathetically over priced for its cheffing. The seating was comfortable and homey and the staff very very good.Unmemorable but I will remember to not return.

Had been waiting for a year to visit Casablanca, and it was worth the wait. Definitely make sure to BYOB. The 5 courses will more than leave you satisfied. In our group, for the main, we all selected the lamb tajin of the different styles, and the special of the day being lamb rack. The lamb rack was definitely the tastiest. That said, next time I plan on ordering the fish. At the start of every other course, they bring around water to pour and clean your hands, as is tradition to eat with your hands (recommended eating with your right hand, as per culture). It's a lovely ritual, and the poring of the water into the reciprocal sounds beautiful. You'll definitely enjoy the ambiance, just like stepping into Marrakech, with the scents of food, and the carpets adorning the floors and the walls. The dishes are served swiftly and politely. Definitely come hungry!

If you're looking for a unique foodie adventure i would recommend this place. The experience, food and service was great. The interior was very beautiful. When you first walk in, you almost feel transported someowhere else, which adds to the experience when eating their delicious food. We were greated by friendly staff. Table is big enough for 2 people to share. One person is able to sit on the couch like area while they have little cushions on the ground to sit on also. Very fun. They have a pre-set menu. The only thing that you choose is your main course. Everything else is set. They do have drinks you can order. This place is also BYOB. After you order your main course (I got the house special which was a rack of lamb) they come out with this cute tin and you rinse your hands over it with warm rose water. They also sprinkled some water that smelt like fresh oranges on your hands. They brought out our first appetizer which was Harrita soup-I believe there were lentils with a tomato base soup. Very yummy. They offer what taste like wheatbread to accompany the soup and the platter that came out with it. The platter consisted of stewed/pickled tomatoes and bellpeppers, hummus, eggplant, spiced carrots and a mixture of diced cuccumbers, purple onions and other herbs. It was very good. There are a lot of great flavors for a simple looking dish. The B'stilla ( fillo dough stuffed with saffron chicken, almonds, eggs) topped with powdered sugar and cinnamon reminded me of a nice dessert, somewhat sweet but also saivory when you got those bits of chicken. For my main course i got the house special which was a rack of lamb with Couscous and fresh vegetables. The lamb was very moist, tender and wasn't very gamey. Dessert was almost like a crispy funnel cake that was drenched in honey. They paired it with some fresh speamint green tea that had a hint of sweetness. It was very delicious, light and a great way to end the meal. Overall I highly recommend you give this place a try if you're looking to try something new!

Be the first to ReplyThis is one of the few times the reviews here are accurate
This is one of the few times the reviews here are accurate for my experience as well. The only things I would add are; our server was quiet and efficient, I would definitely bring drink/wine to compliment your dinner as it may be a couple hours, and just to be sure everyone in your party is ready for a five course meal. One reviewer described it as a hole in the wall. I didn't get that impression at all but thought it was a special place with excellent cuisine transporting you for a couple hours. Lots of special touches, music and seating add to the relaxing experience. Judging by my teen, I think some children could like it but it's probably best suited for couples/adults.We were lucky and got in with perfect parking without a reservation on a Friday evening so that felt especially welcoming. We also didn't realize the menu type and time it would take for the experience but we loved every minute. I enjoyed everything but especially the music, comfy seating, the harrira, the Moroccan salad, sweet mint tea, Cornish hen, lamb brochettes, and tender rack of lamb. Pricing is actually really good considering the time and effort that goes into these tasty dishes! However, it may be better suited for a special occasion night and not a regular dinner spot. Next time, I am dressing up, and making an earlier reservation on a Saturday. Mahalo Casablanca!
