The waitress was awful! We went for our daughter's 18th birthday and we were very disappointed! I would expect to be treated better from a place like this! Never even checked on us or acknowledged her birthday! I would never go back.

Literally the most amazing steak I've ever had.
I don't really love all teams but the truffle butter and the soy caramel marinades are AMAZING. Downside-Portions are small and very very pricey. But, if you are going to celebrate something big, worth it. Really swanky and pretty atmosphere, amazing service. Waiter was so helpful and friendly. The outside area is so nice! Highly recommend!

Came here for my birthday dinner with 3 girlfriends.
We waited for about 45 mins before we were finally seated. When we did get seated we noticed the room where we were seated had less ambiance than the main dining area. We also noticed that the parties around us were all Black while in the nicer dining area there were more Caucasian parties. Our waitress Olivia was a little condescending and not attentive at all. She came to our table maybe 4 times and that's including greeting us and writing down orders. It was so hot in our dining room it almost caused me to pass out. Our steak was burnt to a crisp all you tasted was a burnt outer layer. One of the sides never made it to the table, even after we reminded our waitress. Then as one of my friends tried to get our waitress's attention she then let us know she was leaving and we had a new waiter. Even though our second waiter provided excellent service, it didn't fully make up for the below average overall experience. I would not recommend at all.

By far one of my favorite places in the city for a good bite with friends. They always have reservations available, but you still may have to wait for a little for your table. As for the food, you've got to try the steak flight, it's super moist and they cook it on a hot stone right in front of you. They also have a great selection of wines to pair as well. Do yourself a favor and definitely order the pretzel bread... it's basically a carb-lovers glass of whisky.

One of the silliest places I've been.
The tackiness of the place wouldn't be a problem--one can have fun in such venues. The feeling of being treated like a chump is the annoying part. They call themselves a steakhouse, but after waiting over 1 hour (!!!) for the order, my steak came bland, overdone (I ordered medium rare) and cold. Incredible how it stays in business in NYC.

I'll start at the beginning, my sister & I arrived exactly
I'll start at the beginning, my sister & I arrived exactly on time to our 7:45pm dinner reservation. After checking in, we were directed to their bar area to wait for our table. After ordering drinks, I realized 30 mins had passed. Checking in with hosts for a second time, I was instructed to grab my party and stand close to the host desk. Which was crowded with other parties, who were also waiting for their tables. We did as we were instructed and stood "right there" (where the host pointed) for about 5 minutes. Only to be approached by security telling us we had to move & we couldn't stand there?? Umm ok so, of course, we moved, and continued to wait. And wait, and wait. Finally, our bar drinks that we had ordered prior, came out! But now we're standing and waiting while juggling our drinks. 45 minutes after checking in and we are finally taken to our table! Allll the way in the back order of the restaurant, wedged in between two other tables. By this time, I'm hangry, and I just want to order. Well, when the server comes up to us, he shows little to no interest in taking us seriously / treating us like his other tables. However, what he DOES show interest in, is my little sister's chest. In which he very clearly STARES at while he asks us what we would like to order. The way he stared was so awkward & upsetting! It was an incredibly uncomfortable moment. I was completely shocked. Since my sister is vegan, we asked for a vegan starter. He suggested the fries to start, so we obliged. However, when the food comes, it comes all together. In which he very uninterestingly states "oh, it came out all at once". Ummm ok?? Usually, I'm not one to care or even get upset. But after all this back to back poor service/ lack of care from him I got the feeling that he just wanted to turn our table. Since we were so close to the other tables, I was able to see the way he treated the two tables next to us. And let me tell you, he was much more pleasant and attending. I even overheard/ saw him introduce himself when new guests sat down! Now to top off this experience at catch steak, I came home tonight to an email from OpenTable stating that my reservation was marked as "canceled" ?? And now it shows up on my OpenTable account as a "no show" ?? With a warning from OpenTable that states I can't miss more than 4 reservations or I'll get suspended?? Aside from the baked Alaska, this whole dining experience was beyond disappointing.TLDR; expect to wait a painfully long time to get seated, despite reservations. Women: Don't wear low cut shirts, unless you want the server to stare. And don't expect good service. As for dessert, the baked Alaskan is delicious.

I was so lucky to experience Catch Steak NYC for the first time during Valentine's Day weekend!! I've heard so much good things about this restaurant and I needed TO GO try, getting a reservation was not hard at all!! and the food was amazing. For appetizer I got burrata with honey and it came with bread on the side to die for!!! my main dish was the spicy Gigli pasta honestly the pasta was OK I've definitely had better but the experience itself was amazing. But the best part was dessert my friend got a Baled Alaska while I got their brown butter cake and it was fantastic I cannot wait to go back

This restaurant is amazing on the customer service alone.
From the moment you walk in you are made to feel special! The hostess and wait staff are at your attention. The food was amazing. This is a must go! Definitely go early as it gets later in the evening it gets packed and a little nosey.

Came here for dinner and was thoroughly impressed with the Dry-Aged Cowboy Ribeye. It was delicious. The Creamed Spinach from Catch Steak is also my favorite (get it if you like blue cheese). The Spicy Gigli and Papa's Spicy Baked Clams were good as well. The Baked Alaska is a must. Definitely worth the dairy!Service was lovely and was a great experience overall.

I'm a New York steak junkie and this is one of the best places around. The steak quality may be the best in nyc. The reason this is 3.5 stars is price. It's overly expensive and the portions are small. If it wasn't for the prices I'd be there every week but c'est La vie. Do not miss the rib eye cap or the creamed spinach. If you get the truffle butter filet ask for the soy glaze on the side. The soy glaze wagyu strip is good but the filet is better.

Made a reservation for me a and my 14 yr of daughter at catch steak for a girls night out. When we arrived the security asked if i had a reservation. When i told him yes he proceeded to tell me i could come in because of athletic wear. I didn't want to dispute anything since i had my daughter with me and didn't want her to think the night was over so we left and found another spot. To my surprise i received and email from open table stating i was a no show at catch. Now beside the fact that I'm already irritated being turned away for clothing that was NOT athletic wear to which i can provide photos ... (lived in hells litch for over 10 years and have perfect sense of style i know how to respect and restaurants dress code!!! )i now have to deal with explaining to open table my experience. Shouldn't it be protocol if you turn away a guest who has a reservation that you notify the booking company that i actually showed up but was turned away. Bad experience for a place I've been dying to try!!!

Wanted to take a friend somewhere nice for their birthday
Wanted to take a friend somewhere nice for their birthday but couldn't find any worthwhile steakhouses that were taking reservations on short notice (12 days in advance, most notable places are booked almost a month ahead of time). So I remember this spot and made the reservation for a Friday night. Looking forward to the dinner, we studied the menu and made a game plan for dinner. I was running super late and arrived much later than the grace period offered. I was nearly 45mins late for my reservation and when we arrived were given no trouble at all. The restaurant is chic and the interior is very modern. The restaurant is dimly lit, as all cool place in Chelsea are. The many beautiful hosts smiled and greeted us as one of them escorted us to our table. We went upstairs, up the beautifully lit staircase and was seated in the outdoor area that was basically enclosed. Again super dark and a bit hard to read their menu with insufficient light to see their menu. Our waitress was very polite and might have been new but she got through the specials and took our order. The food arrived and was delicious. I only wish there was more light for me to take better photos of the food. All in all the experience was great and the food was good. I would say the ambiance is what people go for. Their cocktails are very tasty as well. Trendy, hip and chic. Food is good, nothing that was super memorable except their baked Alaska dessert. Visually very fun!

Great evening here with great friends.
However, catch steak fails to impress despite hefty price tag. We arrived at 8 on the dot for our 8pm reservation and still had to wait 15 minutes for a table. We were given a horrible table far in the back - the literally squeeze people in here. No room between tables. Our table was so wobbly and we asked for it to be fixed. After 3 people trying to fix it they finally said sorry it is just the top of the table that's loose. Very unpleasant eating a $100 steak with a wobbly table and drinks sloshing around. Our waiter axel was really great and attentive. The food was average at best. King crab hand roll was SO small and dry, it's like they forgot to add sauce to it. Wedge salad was really good - highly recommend getting because it was pretty unique with large chunks of thick cut bacon. Filet was undercooked to our liking. Definitely not worth the price tag. we were told the sides were only enough for one person but when they came out they were pretty decent and could have easily fed 2-3 of us. We had lots of leftover food that went to waste because of this and at $15+ per side it added up. Drinks were okay - nothing to write home about. Bartender rolled her eyes when we asked for two mocktails - not a good vibe. For dessert we got the baked Alaska but the man who delivered it set it on fire so quickly even though we asked to get a video. It was okay - brownie part was super dry. We also got a sherbet dessert that was served in a red colored waffle cone - this was real tasty.

This place is aesthetically beautiful.
The bartenders are skilled, the hostesses look like models. The staff is helpful, knowledgeable and pleasant. It's a nice place to visit. Having said that, a steak lover is not going to enjoy this CS because frankly the steak, we had two Tomahawks and an assortment of sides, are not worth the price. Super expensive. It was not worth what we paid. Also, despite having such an expansive bar, they have very little beer options which is very disappointing for a place that primarily serves steak. I wish them well, and I hope they make some adjustments to mirror a proper steakhouse. PS Please make an effort to serve super cold beer. A not cold beer with a steak is just awful.

I had by far the worst dining experience in my favorite NYC
I had by far the worst dining experience in my favorite NYC restaurant Sunday Feb 27TH. I decided to celebrate my birthday dinner w family & friends at Catch Steak NYC. What should've ended as a perfect night, instead ended in the worst birthday dinner I've ever had- I'll expect this at a Mc. Donald's before I would at a 5 star restaurant. Their manager named "Sarah", kicked us out because we took a photo while the dining area was empty. She said, "You guys really have to go"- my sister responded in okay give us 2 seconds"- she then proceeded to tell us the rules about photos being taken in the dining area, which we understand is for guests privacy related reasons however their was no one there but us. She was not professional at all as she engaged in a dispute with w myself & my guest. In the midst of everything, I forgot my packaged meal to take home, which included: a Wagyu Steak, asparagus & mashed potatoes along w a cookies & cream cake. We also weren't able to finish our Lychee martinis. Kaitlyn, the waitress taking care of our table seemed as if she didn't want to take care of us. Towards the need of the night we sensed an off energy like an attitude. We guessed it could've been due to us arriving late making her stay at work later than usual. she didn't thank us for dining, neither did she give us the receipts requested after payment was made. By far this has been the worst experience I've ever had at a 5 Star restaurant& strongly believe it was because ewe were Hispanic women. Myself & my guest are writing reviews & advising our Latino community we are not treated equally in this establishment. I hope change is made for the better as everyone who enters a five start restaurant should be treated professionally & equally

This spot is great for people that obviously loves steak.
The environment was very nice. But the wait is ridiculous even if you RSVP, my friend has her birthday dinner for 9:30 and we didn't get seated until like 10pm. The food was ok overall I did like the place but the food was just not what u think it looks like I'm your head. One of the girls ordered an entree with lobster I don't remember the actual name but it was literally two strews of lobster like it was just a total joke.

Came here on Friday night and was beyond pleased with the food, drinks, & service. It's a great atmosphere for a weekend dinner with fun music, decorations, and great vibes. I love restaurants that give bread to start, and it just happened to be soft pretzel bread, so it was even better! We split the Caesar salad to start and each got the 8oz truffle butter steak with broccoli and waffle fries as sides. I am still thinking about the steak to this day. The steak was perfectly cooked and melted in your mouth. The waffle fries had a truffle sauce to dip in that was to die for. We paired the steak with a 1/2 bottle of adelsheim pinot noir which I would highly recommend. This place is pricey but is worth it for the quality of food at atmosphere. Its great for special occasions or a nicer date night! Can't wait to come back.

@catch ambiance, food and service was 10/10 for a large group with an extensive menu for those looking for a fun vibe before a night out. It did take 45 minutes past our reservation to get seated which was pretty disappointing and the bar was totally packed with people waiting for reservations. There was no apology for the wait and little to no communication why it took so long to get seated. #nycfood #opentable #seated #nyccarbs #nycfoodblogging #nycrestaurants #nyccuisine #atmosphere #vibes #restaurants #steak #foodies #eatingnyc #nycdatenite #newyorkfoodblogging

I had the best steak of my life.
A 6oz 28 day aged ribeye cap served medium.I am not a big fan of aged streak nor small servings, but this hit the spot. I didn't add any sauces just the steak itself. The texture was a light tempura style crunch (bark) on the outside and so tender and juicy inside. The service could be a little better but I was next to a party of 12. The manager stopped by to chat and was very polite. We had a nice booth seat, worth the wait, you have much more elbow room.

Fantastic new steakhouse in Aspen! Great service, great
Fantastic new steakhouse in Aspen! Great service, great food and a nice atmosphere. The filet with truffle butter was amazing. The burrata knocked our socks off. Cocktails were fun and interesting. Our waiter was knowledgeable. The manager stopped by several times to check on us. One of the best restaurants in Aspen for sure!
