I'm giving this 3 stars mostly for the view.
The service was great but the food was not to my liking. The margarita was just not good and although the salt was pretty, it was not salty. The pistachio feta and bread was delicious but all the other stuff was not at all. I ordered the lamb skewers and I'd say they were mediocre. My husband ordered the spaghetti and it was way over done. Mushy. He didn't finish his dish. The Brussel sprouts were amazing and we ate every one of them. The Leak and Brie was super watery. Not good. And there was fuzz on the plate of olives. Maybe there's some other good stuff on the menu, unfortunately we didn't have good luck.

They were out of the duck and the wine we wanted but the food and service were still great

Amazing food, beautiful view of the bridge, highly recommend! Perfect for a date night or a special occasion.
Be the first to ReplyGreat views.
The menu is limited, but delicious. Small kitchen and bar. Lovely last minute brunch.

Came here on a Thursday night to celebrate a friends Birthday. The only thing I would ever come back is for the view... It's definitely a great view of the Manhattan Bridge but CAUTION: if you do sit by the window (which is probably the best views in the restaurant) you WILL see a few rats run by. It is NY so you see rats quite often but its still not the best thing to see while you're eating overpriced food.Honestly, the food wasn't bad. My friend and I ordered the Mezze Platter and Branzino with a side of Fried Brussels Sprouts to share. The reason why I gave this place a 3/5 was the egregiousness of charging for flatbread ($3 each for a small flatbread) that usually comes standard with Mezze at other establishments. Granted, this is NY and almost everything is overpriced and I haven't been to ALL restaurants that serve Mezze but in the good amount of places I have been, flatbread of some kind is complimentary??? So on top of the Mezze Platter being $27 we had to pay $3 for flatbread to eat with the Mezze and another $10 for the crudite. So Mezze + flatbread + Crudite = $40. Just no.

I've been wanting to try this place forever and I finally made it out for brunch and it absolutely did not disappoint! The food was delicious, the service was excellent and the ambiance is beautiful, fun and lively. We got the mezze and zataar bread which was perfect and the Caesar Salad with Shrimp and pesto scramble. Loved everything! Highly recommend

It was my first visit to this restaurant HThe view from the restaurant was absolutely amazing... the location is off the water where one could view the Manhattan and Brooklyn bridges. This establishment is best described as a "hot spot" for great ambience. However, the menu is compromised of some crazy food combinations--fusion somethings such as fried gnocchi (over cooked and crunchy) with browned veggies. Unfortunately, we found a piece of a cracked egg shell in our plate. The small starters such as the pita bread is served warm, tasteless with a smear of olive oil and maybe pesto in a small plate that gets cold in minutes... save it as a souvenir to throw around later like a Frisbee. The Brussel sprouts were a travesty burnt mixed with some parmesam chess on to p in an effort to disguise the sheer horror of being overcooked. Imagine such a limited menu...I ordered the overpriced (half a piece) of branzino over a puree white veggie (that I couldn't describe). There was a very limited cocktail menu imaginative in nature. What's ridiculous is that this isn't really a dinner spot. It's a pre-dinner, small bite dining experience with exaggerated prices, very small plates of overcooked food! The food is so, so indescribably bad that the desserts are all fancy sorbets hidden under crazy type toppings. This is a place to visit to take your Instagram pics. Otherwise, eat before you arrive and stash your own cocktails to go (from a real bar) in your car. The service... not to complain or anything, just like the wannabe chef should have been trained at a culinary institution. I never saw a place to put my fur, so we slung it on the extra chair. I'm sad to write this review. We arrived hungry, paid our expensive bill, went home and prepared a real meal on my birthday . Dear readers... if you are looking for a romantic place to eat a hot meal this isn't your vibe. This gorgeously situated eatery is a reminder of what this great city has lost-- post pandemic REAL CHEFS, REAL RESTAURANTS. This type of foolishness is indicative of the lost to the industry, the absence of authentic REAL dining experiences run by culinary professionals. EAT. AT. HOME

Drinks were great. Service and view was awesome.

Loved the mezze platter (hummus and labneh most), scallops were excellent and the apple crisp dessert was the perfect end. I also loved their yuzu pear mocktail! Superb date night spot with views of the bridge.
Be the first to ReplyCame here with a reservation and sat outside (lunch).
The ambiance really set the tone for how nice this restaurant was. Tucked away from the New York craziness but still full of the New York noises (can hear the trains). We ordered our drinks and got them right away. I ordered the duck hash and the three of us shared the mezze platter. The duck hash was so flavorful but light and felt healthy. I wish it was spicier & asked for hot sauce and got a sauce that wasn't spicy at all but I ended up using the spicy dip from the platter! The espresso martini definitely hit the spot on the rainy day overlooking the bridge.

Ambience is nice, the food and service are a different story. Might consider going back for the view but definitely not the food.
Be the first to ReplyI was disappointed with my meal here.
I was here for my birthday dinner with my two daughters, and the view of Lower Manhattan was as fantastic as the food was forgettable. There was nothing particularly wrong, but nothing perfect about it either. The biggest disappointment was dessert, a tinny piece of Tahini Date cake that could not have been more than 2" across and 1/2" thick with a small dab of ice cream on top, all for $13. Now that's silly.

- easy reservation process- environment was fun- people can come dressed laid back or dressed up- got a nice table next to the window, under the bridge perfect view (more on that later)- the experience was easily four star I have to take a star away for the rats in my great seat next to the window, I counted ten rats running up and down the stairs I wasn't grossed out, I can see how others would be turned off - parking is not the most easiest - wonderful and friendly service good recommendations- delicious drinks- mezze plate was really good and bread was delicious- scallops were good- chicken was good- they were out of mussels :(- dessert was alright

I've come here for brunch and dinner and both times the food, service and ambiance were incredible. I love this spot. It had great views- it overlooks the water and the Brooklyn bridge. I love coming here whenever I'm in the area.
Be the first to ReplyI used to love Celestine.
I rated it years back. They used to have a killer lamb chop and a dumpling appetizer to die for. Additionally the restaurant is beautiful. But, now the menu is quite boring and it is way more expensive. I don't enjoy spending over $100 a person for middle eastern food, which happens to be one of my favorite foods. Small chicken dishes and pieces of fish just don't cut it for these prices. I ordered a dip and guess what, it comes with nothing to eat it with. You have to purchase pita, or veggies labeled as another appetizer. Having lived in the city for 20+ years I've seen that restaurants that get worse and deliver less value and raise prices usually don't last long. Truly a shame given that this place used to be a favorite.

If you are visiting NYC this is the place to come, but if you live here is also that place too, I would be coming every day if I could. We were here for my bday, we ordered Celestine Spritz for me, it was awesommeeee even the smell makes you want to splash your face with it (it was so hot outside) my husband ordered Prosecco Rosรฉ, what a refreshing and delicious sparkling flavor it had!. Got focaccia with the pistachio dip, NOTHING LIKE IT .... Ever! Yummy!! Mussels with a kick, Branzino with sautรฉed cauliflowers, each one memorable. The best of the place is the view of the Brooklyn Bridge, every table has a view, congratulations to the designer of the CELESTINE on that, and double congrats to the one selecting the people that works here. Lou was the happy spirit waitress we got tonight, engaging and attentive the whole night, it makes a big difference when you enjoy food only that when great people help you celebrate life what a great place to be for my BDAY, congratulations to me too for choosing Celestine right out of the internet

The food here was so delicious! Amazing view of the Brooklyn bridge & surrounding water. Friendly and fast service but would recommend making a reservation before coming. They have both indoor and outdoor seating on a back deck by the water. The mezze platter with flatbread was so tasty. Fresh, warm bread with various dips that were all unique and delicious in their own ways. The tomato and egg dish was perfectly cooked on a thick slice of what I believe was sourdough. My friend enjoyed her fried chicken sandwich and the fries were make with thick potato slices. The wine selection was also good I opted for an orange wine while my friend got the white. Even though we were absolutely stuffed we still tried the donuts which were so so fluffy and light. A perfect brunch, highly recommend.

if you're looking for delicious brunch food, this is not the place (have not been here for dinner). there was little to no flavor, eggs aren't seasoned at all. You do pay for the views and the atmosphere, so would recommend for a snack and a glass of wine.
Be the first to ReplyMade a reservation a few weeks ahead for a Friday night.
The restaurant is gorgeous, with open windows and great view. I tried:+ Tuscadero cocktail+ Speziato cocktail + Whipped labneh - great, but they should tell you the bread costs extra, because it's $2/piece and they brought it without asking + Citrus salad - highlight #1+ Wild mushroom pasta+ Mussels+ Fried cauliflower - highlight #2+ Beef tartare + Rhubarb crumb cake Service was good. I'd say the food is on the better side of average - decent, but not amazing - though the ambiance brings it to a 4.

DO NOT RECOMMEND!First time here and our last:My son - who was celebrating a birthday today - was served before the three of us and pretty much finished when our food arrived.Food was mediocre, the chicken was too salty, the steak and fish were lukewarm. The server said the kitchen was having issues...he said this twice. The drinks were ok.The birthday was not acknowledged and we made a note in Rezy AND told the server that brought water - the table next door to us had a birthday candle, we did not.The dessert was a peach cobbler type it was COLD. It should have been served at room temperature. The server knocked my water glass with his arm and did nothing, it should have been replaced. The only positive was the location. And this is a Mediterranean restaurant? Only the hummus was Mediterranean. For a meal that cost almost $300 it was such a terrible disappointment.Don't waste your time driving from the city to get here or your money.
Be the first to ReplyGreat brunch spot with lovely views.
Menu is short but the food was tasty. The zatar bread was delicious. Burger was a hefty portion and tasty. Vegan Caesar was pretty good too! Warm donuts with the dipping sauce was the perfect snack for a walk across the bridge post brunch.
Be the first to ReplyIt was wonderful.
Delicious food! Great views. Pretty decor and ambiance. Delicious drinksyou would love it!

I'm leaving three stars because the drinks were watered down and not very good and our waiter was rude when I asked to replace it.I ordered a bloody mary (they didn't have) and then tried to order another drink on their menu with just white rum but that was from a pre made batch and they couldn't accommodate it. I finally ordered the celestine spritz and it tasted like a glass of sprite that had ice melting in it for far too long - no liquor or any other discernible flavor. My coworkers who ordered other cocktails also complained that their drinks were weak. I asked a waiter to bring me something else instead politely, and he asked why and I told him it wasn't a good drink. He kept prodding me about what was wrong with it, and I finally told him it tasted watered down and poor quality. He responded quite rudely "it was a spritz" and took it away and came back with the replacement I asked for. Not sure where the attitude came from but would expect better than a dive bar-quality watered down pre-made cocktail for the price.
Be the first to ReplyHello, I think this place is very misleading.
Online it looks like a 4 star place to eat with an amazing view but when you get there your easily mistaken. Although the view IS amazing, that's kinda where it ends. I have been to Applebee's and felt like I was in a more "fancy restaurant " I'm actually so surprised that someone can wait on us wearing lime green shoes and half a shirt and this place has 4 stars? They need to change the dress code there to something more say 4 star worthy. Definitely not my kind of atmosphere for sure a little strange as I expect way better, fix your website, dress code and a bigger menu and then maybe I'd consider coming back. Extremely disappointed as I spent $165.00 plus a tip for something that I could of went to Applebee's for an had a better time. yes one star only because the food was good but I just couldn't wait to pay and leave.

Wow, the view was so amazing (pretty comparable to River Cafe but cheaper bill). ย The mezze were really good and the warm flat breads were good on their own. ย We had the pork chop and fish, and were very satisfied. ย Only complaint might be the service, our waiter was very nice but rest of the team was definitely not as wam as their flat bread...
