Cetrella Los Altos Reviews from The Last Year
Wow, what a great experience.
We were a multigenerational party of five--two grandparents, two parents, and one child--and everyone loved their food. This is often difficult given that we are foodie transplants from Manhattan, with both vegetarians and meat eaters in our group. We had lamb shank, filet mignon, crab cakes, chicken, and various salads. Everyone raved about their meal. And their homemade bread was equally delicious. Cocktails were also creative and well crafted. What I loved is that they also had non-alcoholic cocktails for my daughter. Apart from great dining, we loved service. It was truly impeccable. Super attentive and warm but non intrusive. Ambiance is modern-elegant. Appropriate for a special occasion, date, or night in town. Or if you just want to treat yourself to great food and nice setting :-) We can't wait to be back.

Great ambiance, service and food! Always have a great experience here. Awesome wine selection and beautiful presentation with dishes.
Awful service.
Don't go, and don't waste your time. We came back from the restaurant. I ordered fillet minion, and I forgot to mention I'm pregnant and want it to be well done, and they didn't ask me either. After 15 minutes, I remembered that, and I mentioned, please make it well done. After 1 hour and 45 minutes, they didn't bring my order, and they said it would take a few minutes. Are you serious? And nobody apologized to me. They are the worst restaurant ever. I wish I could give them 0 stars.
Loved the new location.
Staff is very friendly and professional. Food was delicious. We shared tapas. Artichokes were very tender. The chicken was delicious. Will definitely go back.
Great service and ambiance.
The proprietor is very accommodating. The food is consistently good and the cocktails are great. The staff are friendly and attentive. This is all around a high quality restaurant that I visit often.

The new space is absolutely beautiful and the service was exceptional! Cetrella cocktail is tart and delicious and I can't get enough of their kale salad.
This is based on my first visit to the *new* Cetrella since
This is based on my first visit to the *new* Cetrella since they changed locations, moving from the corner of Main and First to the State Street market. There is a new chef and overall I think the food is even better than before. The pate is more of a mousse but very good, as was the vichysoisse, and the burrata (with plenty of salad that came with it). The steaks were very good and the salmon made my mother-in-law (a tough customer) ecstatic. The basque cake (roughly a cheesecake) was very good as was the sorbet. So, net, on the food -- it's even better than before though I do miss a few of the old menu items (e.g., the mussels, beignets, and the simply-grilled mains). The service was and is remains wonderful. The owner gets to know his guests and takes care of them. The servers were and are amazing. The ambiance is different, it's a bit more compact, the tables are a bit closer together, the noise level is similar. So at the first order, I'd say different. At the second order, I'd say better -- i.e., it's lighter and a bit more modern and I can't wait for the Spring/Summer when they can use lovely patio area. Overall a great visit.
Sat at the bar with a friend on Friday drinks and dinner.
Wine selection was good. Service was friendly but not very attentive, especially considering there was only one other person sitting at the bar. It was the food that made the whole evening go south. Humus appetizer was bland and came with 3 small toast crackers which seemed insufficient. We ordered spinach and ricotta ravioli w/pesto sauce but instead was served butternut squash ravioli. No one seemed to be aware of the menu change. Worse was the flavor - butternut squash with pesto sauce is not a tasty combo. The owner apologized and offered to replace with something else. I ordered the pomegranate salad which was fine. My friend changed to the lobster rigatoni - lobster was super salty. Best part of that entree was the tempura asparagus on top which would make a good appetizer on its own. They gave us cheesecake on the house. The hazelnut crunch that came with it was delicious. $5 for bread they say is made in house had no texture or flavor and didn't even come with butter. All in all a disappointing evening. It was a Friday night and the restaurant was about 1/3 full. I was hoping the new location would make this a neighborhood gem, but sadly it will not.
Very nice dinner.
My filet mignon was a little on the small side but very well prepared. Great music.
Terrible place! Do not go here.
We reserved well over a week in advance for a special celebration and they just canceled because they decided to sell the whole place out for an event. They should not have accepted a party booking if they already had committed to people.

I have a notice stating that my bid has been accepted and is awaiting transfer. The reservation is for the 18th, but the “moderator” said he will confirm booking by the 28th. Is this an indicator that I may not have a reservation?

Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
