Chicken Ranch Palm Springs Reviews from The Last Year

This cute little casual restaurant has a delightful outdoor patio right on Palm Springs' main drag, Palm Canyon Rd. The food is always terrific. I particularly enjoy the Chicken Wok (stir fried with veggies & rice). Our waiter, Keylan (sp?) was smart, funny and helpful, suggesting an inexpensive Chardonnay that they offer for Happy Hour.

Second time I've been here and they don't give you a receipt before you pay. Ask for a receipt. Both times we had things on our bill that we did not order. I will not be back.

Great chicken noodle soup, fried chicken sandwiches, and salads! We love grabbing this to go or for dinning in but the parking can be tough sometimes. Only reason I gave them a 4 is because the staff did make some antisemitic remarks when a regular asked for their receipt.

I ordered the Chinese salad and it was fresh, colorful and crisp with an excellent orange ginger dressing. My husband had the Bahn mi sandwich and it was overflowing with well seasoned chicken. We were seating on the patio quickly and food was served before the drinks. We waited a while to start eating because we were airing on some fry sauces and black pepper and the manager came by and noticed that our drinks didn't come out and it had been a while. He was very thoughtful and offered us a key lime pie dessert for the inconvenience. It was soooo good. Next time I will start with dessert. It could have fed four of us! The key lime is a large portion size!
Headline: Ask For Salt & Pepper! Overall 3.
4 out of 5 THE GOOD ° Outdoor seating was nice ° Replaced table cloth after each diner. ° Banh Mi - Chicken needs salt - Needs balance with the veggies. THE BAD ° Slow service - Seemed like 3 guys working. Wasn't staffed enough... Possibly throw off my Spring Break vacationing. ° Multiple dirty cups ° Most food was bland and needed salt and/or pepper. ° Beer list needs to show % for beers. - I prefer mine are around 7%, got two under 5% THE UGLY ° No major discrepancies. Check images for individual plate ratings and feedback.
Lucky that I found the Chicken Ranch right before closing
Lucky that I found the Chicken Ranch right before closing trying to feed a sick son. Chicken was delicious and the staff top notch friendly. Jeren was so kind and helpful when they had run out of what my son wanted helping to recommend other options. Even though they were closing I didn't feel rushed or that I was making them late to close. They have a delicious menu- today I got the BBQ chopped salad and rotisserie chicken. Will definitely be back.
Ordered several salads to go for a group.
Everything was delicious, but a few items were missing from our order. Stopped by two days later for another to go order and mentioned the problem to the manager. Jose went out of his way to make sure that our order was perfect and offered to find our previous order so that we could get a refund for the missing items. Instead, I asked that he give us our beverages for free, which he did, but he then insisted that we take an order of the roasted yams (fantastic) and some key lime pie (so yummy). What great customer service!!! Thank you Jose, we will be coming back for more.
Great food
Fantastic location Great welcome Good outside dining area The chicken wok was great The roast potato was fantastic Definitely highly recommend
I regret to say that my experience at Chicken Ranch was
I regret to say that my experience at Chicken Ranch was highly disappointing. We have been coming for years but last night will be the last time we support the establishment. Firstly, the restaurant closed 2 hours early without any prior notice. Attempts to contact them by phone were futile as they didn't bother answering. Moreover, the sexist treatment towards women was appalling and unacceptable. There was not one single woman working in the restaurant and the owner made multiple sexist comments stating women did not have a place in the food or bar industry. As for the food, the rotisserie chicken was disappointingly dry and overpriced. Save your money and opt for a chicken from Ralph's instead; you won't miss anything at Chicken Ranch. Update: I wrote this same review on Google and it has since been deleted. The owner responded saying they were taking orders until 7:45pm, this is simply not true. The door of the restaurant was locked at 6:45pm when we showed up and they were not answering their phone at 6pm when we called. Additionally, he clarified that he has one female server working for him. Golden star for having ONE woman server...!!!
The chicken is so good!
Stopped in for lunch on a whim when shopping in the area. Everyone loved what they ordered and the chicken was delicious! I had the kale/quinoa salad. Someone else had the bbq salad, another person had the Chinese salad, another person had the bahn mi sandwich. All excellent. So good that we ordered takeout another night. Although all the food was delicious, they were slammed and it took much longer for the order to be ready than anticipated. The manager did a great job keeping me updated as I waited and everything was in the order correctly which was surprising because they were so busy. Definitely check it out.
I was so excited to finally try this place, Today.
The outdoor patio looks nice for seating, although I am doing a pickup for my first experience. I walked in the building and asked the first worker where to go for my pickup order to go. He told me in a good strong American accent that he doesn't speak English. I guess he was not one of the waiters and didn't want to be involved. Wow... oh boy, I knew that just shot my first impression of the place for customer service. I found the next worker and they help me to the wait line. Neither worker seemed to be very happy. I thought I'd see how the food was after getting home. I took the first bite and bit into a piece of a toothpick. As it turns out, I had the option check boxed to cut the buffalo chicken sandwich in half (I love having this option). There was a long toothpick holding one of the halves together and unfortunately was slanted into the other side as they cut thru everything in half. That wasn't a very nice first bite. The buffalo chicken sandwich really didn't have much flavor. The fries might be fresh (which I appreciate)... so expect chewy & limp. I'll rate my experience a "C" for "C"hicken Ranch in customer service and food satisfaction. I don't plan to go back. There are better chicken sandwiches elsewhere in town and get service with a smile.
Mediocre at best
we ordered banh mi sandwich and chicken ranch sandwich. The chicken was boiled, but had absolutely no flavor, there was no seasoning on the chicken whatsoever and we had to put a lot of salt, pepper and hot sauce, which did nothing to the taste. There was lots of chicken in the sandwich itself however, flavourless it was just not good enough. Neither of us could finish the sandwiches. Also, the salad dressing that came on the side of the ranch chicken sandwich tasted extremely strange. Maybe The chef can season the water that they boiled the chicken in.
I agree with the others here about the service.
My beet & goat cheese salad was very good, but my family was not crazy about their chicken. The waiter was having trouble being civil.
Nice name, nice location, BUT...
The service was on par with other similar establishments in town. Getting to the point...every dish at our 8 top centered around chicken, their signature item. Regardless, either salad or sandwich, behind the scenes the chicken is apparently pounded, breaded and deep fried to a crispy cardboard consistency. Don't expect a succulent breast or thigh...it doesn't exist here. Now we know. Nice name, nice location but failure to represent the brand properly.
Delicious tasty healthy
Superb rotisserie chicken and sauces. French fries hot and perfect. Salad fresh and just the right size. Staff friendly, great background music.
Staff great. Food good. Management rude.
We actually had a great time on the patio during happy hour. Service was great and food was pretty good. At this point we would have given it 4 out of 5. As I was paying the bill my wife asked for directions to the washroom and was told to follow the chicken feet. When she got there she realized you needed a code to enter so back she went to the bar and asked the manager for a code to get in. He replied “you need a retinal scan” and he and a customer at the bar laughed. I need a code and she was given a code. As she left the manager and the customer had a good laugh at her expense. When she returned she decided to address her discomfort and told him she was not impressed by him and the customer belittling her and he tried to blame his staff for not giving the code. My wife called him on it and told him not to blame his staff. Firstly, he was very condescending towards my wife and he never should allow a customer to get involved. It was such a silly thing that went wrong. All he had to have said was I’m sorry here’s the code and nothing would have happened. We have family coming and we were excited to take them to the Chicken Ranch but we will not be returning.
Great chicken at Chicken Ranch!
Saw a review of Chicken Ranch on TripAdvisor - specifically for the Banh Mi sandwich and it lived up to its review! Excellent sandwich (it is huge) - no room for their key lime pie which is their known for dessert. Went back a few days later and split the sandwich and also their beet and goat cheese salad which was also very good. Had the key lime pie. The pie was good but not out of this world. Ordered the house red but they ran out and instead substituted a nice cab for the same price - they just did it and let us know - no quibbling about the fact they had run out of the house wine. Made the dinner all that more pleasant. Very reasonable prices, very pleasant service and very good food - what more can you ask for?
Chicken Ranch, now on my list of local favorites!!
First time to dine here and was pleasantly surprised at our experience. Great outdoor seating area, food and service was excellent, and to cap it off, their key lime pie is SOO good! Will definitely include this on my short list of local favorites.
Great food and service
Was in Palm Springs 5 days. Ate here 3 of them! Loved it! Easy parking. Good portions. Quick bustling service. The Cobb salad super yummy! Fries delish! I did have the fried chicken sandwich too it was a bit messy but tasty! I do recommend but as busy as they stay I don’t think they need a recommendation from me! Great little place!

Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.

Can come from a lot of places, people who don't want to get charged their cancellation fee or people who just have them and cant go.

almost all restaurants aren't affiliated with AT and I'm guessing it's mostly people wanting to not pay cancellation fees.
