Great local cuisine!
Great local cuisine. All the locals visit and our taxi driver was surprised we knew about it, but itโs worth going. Half the price of Lau Pa Sat and easier to get a seat. A little off the beaten track, so do yourself a favour and get a taxi.
Be the first to ReplyBad attitude - satay stall
The satay stall cheat money . Ordered 10 chicken + 10 pork + 1 rice to an aunty and paid money to her . After that go collect , say donโt have my order just because they canโt find the order . They only have the order with 10 chicken + 10 pork + 4 rice . Asked me how much I pay and how do I remember ? The aunty donโt even remember my order . Money paid and forget . Really too much ! Will not go there anymore . Donโt recommend !!! Attitude bad .

Chomp chomp is a must visit for all kinds of local food ranging from oyster omelette, satay, hokkien mee. Always crowded at night.
Be the first to ReplyNeed more seats!
I sat inside where all the individual stalls are located instead of the more ventilated seats that are not sheltered. It was too smokey and caused me to have fever and sore throat the next day.. Recommend to seat outside where its more ventilated especially if you are not used to the heat in Singapore. Food is VERY GOOD. Very local. The grilled chicken wings has a kick. Best eaten with lime juice sprinkled. The ouster omelette is a must try too!! Hydrate when you are here as food and environment is very heaty.
Be the first to ReplyNostalgic place
We grew up visiting Chomp Chomp decades ago and was nice to finally go back again. The crowd there is much younger now and you can still find your usual supper favourites like satay, chicken wings, oyster, etc.
Be the first to ReplyNewton food centre pales in comparison
The list of food that you should totally order:
1. Sambal sting ray (the stall at the corner, right infront of the seating area)
2. Carrot cake (the stall at the corner, right infront of the seating area. Suggest to order the black carrot cake, $3, with chilli)
3. Hokkien Mee (the one with purple plates). Their chilli is DA BOMB.
4. Chicken wings (beside the Hokkien Mee stall with purple plates)
5. Apple Orange Juice at S$2 for a big cup (always always go to the juice stall run by a twin brother)
6. Chilli Cray Fish (one of the middle stalls)
Go ahead. Try them. You wonโt regret it!
Okay lah!
Good selection of regional specialties, noodles, rice, sate, chicken wings, fish etc at all prices. For instance, $7.70 for 10 chicken sate and rice, $3.00 for some good fried noodles bit $10.00 for a handful of green beans in a chili (good) sauce!?
Fruit juices available too. A good experience but not very keen on going back.
Chong Pang Huat BBQ Wings
Chomp Chomp has many well known BBQ Wings. Chong Pang Huat is one of my favourite. The queue is fast and they BBQ fresh wings . And packed in heat retain paper bags to keep them crisp. And eco friendly. And their chilli sauce in a tub.

We went to Chomp Chomp because we had heard good things about the place and we were on a kind of food trail trying a lot of Singapore's Hawker and Food centres which open in itself was a lot of fun. The nearest MRT is Lorong Chuan but you have to walk almost 20-30 mins we took a cab on the way back. The place is surrounded by greenry and it's an open concept setup which we really liked. The place is very popular with the locals most of the stalls if not all open late around 5pm. The food was a big disappointment or maybe we didn't find the right stalls but we didn't enjoy the food but the ambiance was good if you wanna experience the real Singaporean life place like this give you a good glimpse of it.

This is only my second visit to this place after more than 10 years.
As long as I can remember, the food supposedly to be nice but I was wrong!
We arrived around 530pm on Deepavali. The place is not crowded yet.
We ordered sour sop drink, sugar cane drink, chilli sting ray, stir fried beancurd, salted egg chicken; BBQ chicken, wing, satay bee hoon.
All tastes not good . Won't come bk again.
Great food at Chomp2
Great cosy place with great food.
Place is crowded on most days. Seating is a little cramped but the good food makes up for it.
