Always great.
Love this place for lunch or dinner. The dining room is spacious and comfortable. Menu has plenty of choices. Food is always fresh, tasty and well prepared. My last visit, I had a burger and creamed spinach. Great value.
Be the first to Replyawesome but pricey
We were in town playing golf and had to have a NY strip. We were quickly seated at the end of the bar which was perfect. The bartender was great, he seemed to know what we needed before we did. The bread and salad (it was huge!) came quickly and they were excellent. The presentation of the steak was nice with the monogrammed plate and orchid and was perfectly cooked. And it did not disappoint either. A bit pricey but well worth it.

I went for a late lunch yesterday and was seated quickly. I was told someone would be by to take my drink order soon. There were only 2 other parties in the dining area. I waited 25 minutes for someone to take my drink order and that never happened. So i went back to the hostess stand to see what was going on. I waited there 5 min and no one walked up and I walked out. Pretty sad when you're trying to give away money and they don't want it...

Let me start by saying our server was wonderful and very attentive. I ordered a NY strip , my friend ordered a ribeye. My NY strip was cooked medium and it was cooked correctly. The meat was so tough , I did not enjoy it at all. The baked potato and green beans were good. When you pay $55 for a steak you expect it to be better than Longhorn etc and this was not .

So wife and I visited with reservations the Friday after Valentines day, we still waited a bit for our table, didn't feel like it was that busy. We were seated in the back room, which kind of felt isolated from the main restaurant. None of that was bad, I would say first impression was just average. Service was slow, but the real problem was the food. We both got the chop salad which was really good, but a $12 salad should be good, right. The main issue was the quality, seasoning and taste of the steak, we both got the ribeye, order med, took 40 min after the salad to get our steaks and the wife's was way under cooked (raw) in the middle, took another 5min or so for someone to come check on us so we could send back for some more cooking. Mine was cooked perfect but, neither had any seasoning and the quality of the steak was not what you would expect from a $50 piece of meat. We both commented on how both ribeye's were touch and really not very good. We have had way better steaks at lower cost chain steak houses. For the price and service we will not go back.
Be the first to ReplyGood Food. Terrible service!!!
We booked a table for 3 for Thursday night even though the restaurant was not busy. The reservation noted this was a birthday dinner. When we arrived this was not acknowledged. We were seated in a booth near the entrance. We sat there for 15 minutes being ignored by the wait staff. Finally my son told the hostess who then went to the servers who were just standing around shooting the breeze. The server who came to take care of us informed us that no one was assigned to this table. ??? She then proceeded to take our drink order. They have a list of specialty cocktails and my son ordered one. She came back and stated they were missing an ingredient and couldn't make the drink as ordered and to choose another. She took our orders and the meal service was good. The food (two steaks and a lobster tail) was prepared as ordered and was very good. At least the kitchen had their act together. We were going to order a desert to share but our server disappeared. Again, we waited for 15 minutes before I finally went to the manager (also shooting the breeze) and told him we wanted to pay our bill. Usually, most high end restaurant managers check with you to see how the dinner went. Not this guy. I like this place and hate giving a poor rating but paying over $300 I expect top notch service. It didn't happen tonight.

I Absolutely forgot how awesome this restaurant is! The food was amazing! Renee was our server, and she was outstanding! Her recommendations were excellent. If you haven't been you must visit...prices are a little high, but you get what you pay for!!!

Nice and beautiful place, good service but a bit expensive. I asked for the caesar salad that was good but nothing special. The price of meat and seafood was very high.

My Family and did not know about making reservation. We to have a seat. The waitress we had was very slow. Nice good appearance but very slow. Anything we ask it took a while for her to get to us the food was served cold. My wife ordered a steak; it look like it was burnt and it was a size of a quarter and it supposed to be in some type of a top steak. Overall it is a bad experience I ate something that was burning in the inside of my mouth. Whatever I ate, felt like razor blades. Overall, bad experience at a high price restaurant.
Be the first to ReplyExceptional Hospitality!!!
My wife and I had the pleasure of dining at the Chophouse and I must say, the entire experience was nothing short of exceptional. From the very moment we stepped through the door, we were greeted with warm and welcoming hospitality from the attentive servers, which set the tone for the rest of the evening. To start off our meal, we indulged in a few delectable appetizers that included a divine sashimi tuna, a succulent crab cocktail, and a savory shrimp cocktail. We also relished a Caesar salad that was a perfect balance of flavors and textures. The attention to detail in every dish was remarkable and it was evident that each was carefully crafted with the utmost care and precision. For our entrée, we opted to share the mouthwatering ribeye with perfectly grilled asparagus and creamy mashed potatoes. The dish was cooked to perfection, with the meat being tender and juicy, and the sides complementing the flavors of the meat beautifully. It was a symphony of flavors that left us utterly satisfied. Throughout our meal, we were thoroughly impressed with the exceptional attention to detail that the Chophouse's kitchen and staff demonstrated. It was clear that they had taken great care in crafting a menu that would delight and excite their guests. The hospitality and service we received were top-notch and elevated the dining experience to new heights. We left feeling utterly contented and can't wait for our next visit to the Chophouse. If you're searching for a place to indulge in a truly exceptional dining experience, the Chophouse is an excellent choice.

The food is really good. The portions are very small. The server!!! Horrible. We did not get bread, she forgot the tea, she put the order wrong. With those prices, service should be excellent. One bad server ruins everything.

I have eaten at the Chop House Restaurants ever since the first one on Holden Road and closed years ago. I have eaten at the Mendenhall locations 20 times over the years. Visited on 10-14-22 to celebrate a friends birthday. Service on a 1-5 scale was maybe a 3. Filet on a scale 1 to 5 was a 1. The only thing that was really good was the chocolate cake we had for the birthday girl. I don't understand how a restaurant thinks they can serve a Golden Cornell grade steak and charge $55.00 for six ounce filet and expect to have repeat customers and stay in business. It sad because at one time you could not get a better steak or have better service. I will not return and if you go don't expect much except a overpriced bill.

Go somewhere else. Service was so slow. Kid’s meal not as described, portions are very small, salads took forever, bread took forever and was not replenished, unable to refill my beverage because the machine syrup needed to be replaced, has to ask for refill, ketchup and steak sauce twice. Total disaster. Management made aware of our disappointment when she came to table to ask how our meal was. My husband stays in this general area for business quite a bit so he now knows where NOT to bring his team or dine solo at. Close to $200 for our meal and we all left hungry and disappointed.
Be the first to ReplyGo! No dry chicken here…
Definitely worth it… It had been a while since I visited the Chop House. Mostly because I knew it to be a “steak place” and I no longer eat beef. I glanced at the menu and was pleasantly surprised they had quite a few seafood and chicken dishes. I ordered the Morel Mushroom Chicken Breast. It was really good. It wasn’t dry. I took the rest for lunch the next day and it warmed very well and still wasn’t dry. My only complaint was it had a mushroom sauce and I really think it should have had mushrooms as well. But it was still really good. We also ordered the crab dip and it was great. The dessert was the only thing that wasn’t great. It tasted a little stale almost. It was the coconut cake. It had potential, but it fell flat. Service was excellent. Our waitress was really amazing. I will definitely return. It’s a must visit!
Be the first to Replyenjoyed our meal
My husband was craving a NY Strip strip steak after a round of golf and decided to stop at the Chop House. I wasn't very hungry so I just got the house salad (I was planning of getting their warm cookie with whipped cream and strawberries for desert and didn't want to fill up). All of the servers etc., were wearing masks and we sat at the end of the bar so we were comfortable inside. The bartender played close attention to us and was great. The wine was dry and excellent. I tasted his steak and thought it was was cooked perfectly and very tasty (an excellent cut.) I'm still telling people about how great the warm cookie with whipped cream and strawberries was.
Be the first to ReplyTerrible ! Bad service, poor food, on a special night!
Went to dinner for a special 30th Anniversary! The reservations were made in advance so I was surprised to be seated in the bar lounge area, Booked through the "open table site" and specified special event. The waitress came and took our order for drinks. Champagne was out of stock? 3 choices of wine were not available. It took 30 minutes to get a cocktail. In the meantime the appetizer came and was tepid. Not the best thing for oysters rockefeller. Dinner order was taken and then we waited for another half hour for our meal. No sign of our waitress the entire time. I asked to have the manager stop by our table, good luck with that! A most disappointing evening in every way, Poor food when it came, terrible service, and no one to speak to about the service of food. We wont return in the near future or suggest to anyone else.
Be the first to ReplyWorst experience I've ever had
Table was soaking wet when seated, had to use my napkin to dry it. Waiter brought a 40.00 dollar bottle of wine to my table with no chiller, waited 15 mins and had to ask for it again. My filet was ordered med well, on the well side, it was served med rare, waited 20 mins for waiter to check on our food, my wife completely finished her meal. Waited asked if I wanted it brought back, my response was absolutely not. Waiter brought me a bill with meal on the bill, by this time I was livid. He decided to have it taken off the bill. Brought it back with my salad still on the bill. Still no apology or Manger visit. Finally, "Hank" the manager came to my table only to tell me that the Waiter had been busy, his apology was the most insincere I've ever heard, it was mostly an apology for them being busy. By the way. The Waiter had 3 tables, the largest had 6 people. I left the restaurant at 9:30 hungry, ended up eating a PB&J at home. Oh And I paid an f'ing 85.00 dollar bill before I left. Never will I eat this Chophouse again.
Be the first to ReplyAnd ordinary restaurant disguised as upscale.
This restaurant should be better. The steaks were ordinary and camouflaged with a lot of spices. My steak was rare on one end and well done on the other end. All salad dressing sadly deficient. Caesar salad did not have Caesar dressing. Loaded potatoes Luke warm and not loaded enough. Salmon was not properly cooked. Prices were those of a upscale restaurant but the food was ordinary. The Brie appetizer was really excellent.

Food was exceptional and price was quite low for what you got. Crab cakes were awesome. Steak was particularly good. If you’re going to market you need a reservation as the place was packed. During Covid era that was a bit of a Concern but being vaccinated it was fine. It would be nice to have seen staff masked however.
