Must try Italian!
Everything about this place was terrific. The atmosphere- a garden apartment type feel with a wine cellar vibe as well. The service. We had two fabulous servers who were honest and gave great advice. They were fun too! The food. Amazing! the Gnudi's, the meatballs, the salads, the pastas and the risotto. All equally as good as the next! The desserts weren't our favorite but who needed dessert after all the amazing food! Would return again!

The cutest place, wonderful drinks, amazing food and excellent service! Honestly there is not much more to say! Our waitress was amazing and attentive and the place was very busy so she was running around. The meatballs were unreal!

We were recommended to go to this restaurant and it dis not let us down. The reception, service and food were great! The service staff was able to explain the menu and offer us the special menu of the day paired with wine. We had crรจme brulรฉe for dessert. Worth to try!

We went for for dinner. The food is very delicious, good choice of authentic Italien dishes. The atmosphere is great and the waiters are very friendly.

You order one of three salads they have on the menu, you wait 15 minutes with the drinks and then you are told that the salad you ordered is not available.
What is this? Poor service.
Really cozy environment
Really cozy environment and friendly staff. Very welcoming and a good place to bring children as well. Good genuine Italian food but not fantastic. Would absolutely go back!

Really great pasta. Really great small restaurant setting. All the staff was helpful and friendly. All recommendations for what we might like weโre spot on. Great bottle of Barolo that was quite inexpensive. Would highly recommend and go back every time we are in town.

We just moved from Toronto to NYC at the end of May and have been using the Bib Gourmand list to find out where to go...itโs how we found Ciccio and since itโs a five minute walk, we gave it a try early October and have been back three times since.
Food is insanely delicious. Service is great and the staff add to the wonderful ambience of the restaurant. Itโs becoming our go-to place
Color me Ciccio
Terrible title aside, the food and ambiance at Bar Ciccio was nothing short of excellent. Our server made an incredible white wine recommendation (La Capranera Falanghina). We did a couples date (quite risquรฉ, I know). It was a Thursday night and we arrived at 7:30pm without a reservation. We were seated immediately in a lovely back corner booth right, had drinks within 10 minutes and our food was out less than 40 minutes after we arrived. It was a no-stress and totally enjoyable experience. Plus, and this is a major selling point, the food was incredible. It tasted like it was truly homemade pasta and the serving sizes weren't too big. Felt like a little slice of Italy on Sixth Ave.

Nine out of ten times you get good quality coffee in Italian restaurants, no exception here.Sometimes I can't stop wondering how many Italian restaurants there are in Manhattan.May make a return visit later, here seems to be a happy and refreshing mood among returning guests
Be the first to ReplyGood food but a horrible, out of control dining experience.
We live in the neighborhood and have been to this restaurant occasionally. The food is generally good and the staff is friendly. We hadn't been there for a while and went in last night for what we had hoped would be a pleasant, low-keyed Italian meal. Instead we had absolutely the worst dining experience we have had for years, if ever. The food was still good enough, but we sat next to a table of about 8 or 9 shrieking, drunk, totally oblivious sociopaths (for lack of another word). When I say shrieking, I mean โ and I am not exaggerating -- screaming at the top of their lungs in a small, low-ceiling room with tables set very close to each other. Plus milling around, hugging diners at other tables, bumping into people, and being completely unbearable. Diners all around us were discomfited, but the staff just kept bringing more wine and drinks (I don't even think they were eating) and even though we complained during and after the dinner, the staff apologized perfunctorily, shrugged their shoulders and did nothing. I do not write restaurant reviews, but I think that the owners should be reminded that it is their responsibility not just to cook decently, but to provide a pleasant, relaxing ambience, conducive to good (and properly paced) dining. Instead we could not wait to leave, paid the not inconsiderable bill, and left a tip. We will however never, never, ever come back, and I would not be surprised if others there feel the same way, since there were pained grimaces and rolled eyes all around. A restaurant can ask for obnoxiously loud patrons to keep it down, and if they don't, refuse service and ask them to leave. If this happened on an airplane, they would end up in jail. It is ultimately the restaurant's fault, and if this review causes them to rethink their policies, that is my intent.
