Cindy Lou's Fish House Baltimore Reviews from The Last Year
Drinks are good.
One of the bartenders was great one was very condescending and snippy. Oysters are terrible as well as the biscuit. Probably would stop for drinks and skip food.
The service is very very slow.
We had to wait for an hour to get our order. Also, their seafood is poorly kept and absolutely not fresh. All shellfish tasted stale and the worst is their backfin crab puff, the crab meat they use is so bad that I can smell strong ammonia even after deep fry. Never would we visit this place again. Will not recommend this place for anyone.
We came here for lunch.
The restaurant has beautiful views and the food was delicious. I had the crab cobb salad.... Light but filling and delicious.
I was intrigued by this restaurant due to the mixed reviews
I was intrigued by this restaurant due to the mixed reviews but really enjoyed myself and the food when I went! I went for a business dinner and I think it's a great place for one with lots of space and the restaurant wasn't too loud. The service was absolutely wonderful and our server helped guide us to some delicious shareable. We got the grilled and fried oysters and I would Hihi I recommend both! The grilled oysters were flavorful and the fried ones had the perfect thin batter. My sangria cocktail was perfectly light and fruity but not too sweet. I also really enjoyed the cornbread but could see some people thinking it was a bit dry. I got the salmon and it was perfectly flaky and filling!
Late lunch on a weekday.
Perfect view, excellent food and service by Ingrid. Fried green tomatoes, Cobb salad, lobster Po Boy, grilled cheese sandwich and Crab soup all excellent.
Love everything about this place.
Food is great but the menu is limited. Ambiance is killer. Staff are generally good. Bar area can get cramped but nice. Water views abound. Fireplace is nice.
Oh No Cindy Lou! Yesterday, I'm reading the Eater
Oh No Cindy Lou! Yesterday, I'm reading the Eater Essential list and see Cindy Lou's Fish House. James Beard Award nominated Chef Cindy Lou turning out tasty southern treats AND walking distance from my hotel? Slam dunk for me. I walk into a hotel lobby and see the space to the right. A beautiful fire is roaring and the commanding view from every table. No need to sit at a table, I'm by myself so the bar will do fine. And what a bar! Lots of high end spirits, the person running this knows what they're doing. What brought me here was the southern spin. If a James Beard Chef put her spin on a classic dish? I'm down to clown. I sit at the bar and order a beer on tap. A cheerful bartender takes my simple order of Fried Green Tomato stack and the lobster Po Boy. Fried Green Tomato Stack This was a very good starter. If you love FGT as much as I do, you'll be pleased with this dish. My only issue? The tomato stack was built on the plate and the plate sat. The tomatoes didn't have that fresh out of the fryer snap. Lobster Po Boy I was in New Orleans over a year ago and still think about my last Po Boy. What I had last night didn't satisfy any Po Boy cravings. First, why are their micro greens on everything? I had them topping the tomato stack, now they're jammed in the sandwich? And the lobster?? You have a bay FILLED with blue claw crab! My sandwich had four small pieces of fried lobster with, what is that taste, curry? The bread was off, the dressing was off and Cindy? Can you spare some more lobster? I should have ordered the crab cake.. Chef Cindy, I've been to the other restaurant Charleston and had the amazing fried oysters. Lose the lobster and slid those Oyster into that Po Boy? Trust me, you'd get that James Beard Award!
Awful food and service.
Over priced too More meat entrees than fish. Crab cakes were cold in the center, fries were over seasoned. Waited was inattentive. The list goes on.

I've visited Cindy Lou's Fish House (inside of The Canopy Hotel) twice. Most recently, for brunch on a Saturday morning a couple of weeks back. I've only experienced dining during brunch. I had a pleasant experience both times. Pros The restaurant's view of Harbor East is wonderful. The ambiance is great. The brunch menu is enjoyable. Perhaps not overwhelming, but enjoyable. I had the shrimp and grits and one of their signature cocktails. The bar is a highlight. It's a focal point for this spot. The staff has been friendly during both my visits. Cons I'd say that the offerings/menu are a bit pricey. The price point doesn't match the level of deliciousness you'd expect. Not bad, but you won't leave reminiscing about the food necessarily. Other Notes: Street parking is limited. There is garage parking available. There is construction (December 2023) nearby that may be a bit distracting. Overall, my experience was enjoyable dining with friends and family.

This review is a bit late in the making, but I see that my Google review got buried. A less than glowing review should still be seen. I went for a thanksgiving lunch. I was just very underwhelmed. I felt overly disappointed for what I paid. First the Moroccan lamb and southern collard greens with a cornbread dressing is what I chose. The lamb was was terribly over cooked and I can not have found Morocco anywhere in there. The stuffing was nice but an afterthought. I don't consider the tiny cranberry gremolata does justice to this. They did bring me another lamb slice but the flavors were just not there.

Prepaid Reservation Fee

When you sell a reservation that has a prepaid fee AT takes a commission on that fee. This doesn’t really make sense because it’s an expense the seller incurs not part of the profit that is shared.
For example:
Carbone NYC fee to book table for 2 is $108.88
If you sell it for $200 on AT you get $140 from them.
Your net profit is $31 and AT collects $60 in fees.
It would make more sense not to charge commission on the upfront fee as this creates a disincentive and results in higher costs for buyers.

Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
