Recently here for a company event.
The venue allows for different set up, great for a large audience. Great venue for events. The staff is attentive professional and friendly. From the doormen to checking in / picking up your coat and wait staff who notice details - all adding up to a grand experience. Food isn't the best but it's good. The most negative aspect is the location 42nd Street has become so crowded and traffic patterns can't be predicted. However, public transportation is right across the street - Grand Central, you have the subway and MetroNorth and walk 15min west to Port Authority. Otherwise I suggest a cab to the area to avoid the guaranteed over priced parking garages. For the restaurant area on - head over next door for grand treatment as well.
Be the first to ReplyNew years eve, 2018.
Doors open 9pm, line was not so long but it moved slow which made it long in the standard admission line. The VIP line was moving faster. Coat check $5 per item, quick tip, take a pic of your coat ticket for later on if you loose it! Music was ok, they played reggeton, Pop, a bit of edm but mainly commercial hit songs. The crowd was late twenties up to 50's year olds, majority of everyone was coupled up, a few "girl groups" hardly any "guy groups". Actually, i do not think i saw any "guy groups" Open bar was great, security was also great, the ladies room is a bit small but they had an outdoor ladies room as well, by the "smoking" area in the back door next to the restrooms. The appetizers they served were, shrimp cocktail, mini hot dogs, im sure they had more but i did not see sufficient waiters on the floor. The dance floor is in the center and vip tables all around. It really is a beautiful place, perfect for a wedding. Men were dressed in tuxedos and suits, ladies were dressed with nice high end evening gowns and cocktail dresses, also new years sparkly theme. I didn't give it a five star because i don't think the standard admission fee was worth it. $90 would had been more appropriate.Happy New Years!

The team at Cipriani did an excellent job all around. We were greeted warmly at the door, quickly and efficiently checked in and handed off our coats. This was important as there were hundreds of us all showing up around the same time. Before I knew it, I had a drink in my hand. The bars were well stocked and well staffed and they turned around drink orders quickly - we never waited long to get a drink. They didn't cheap out on the furniture either. The seats were comfortable and the flatware was very nice, with the Cipriani logo along the top of the plates. The food was excellent. This is usually where almost all banquet halls breakdown somewhere. Whether it is pasta, sides, meat or fish, something just doesn't work. Not the case here, as you would expect from Cipriani. The food was excellent across the board. The pastas, vegetables, potatoes and the meat were excellent. The beef was exceptional for banquet-style dining. Desserts were very good, too.On top of all of this, their staff was swarming around, clearing plates, offering to refill waters, keeping the place clean, etc. - they were very attentive.Cipriani really did an excellent job running our holiday party. I highly recommend them.

Such a beautiful venue! The food was good. Bartenders made great drinks, did not skimp on the pour ... Im not sure if the catering staff was outsourced but I went to picked up a plate at a kosher food table and the attendant quickly swiped the plate from me and said this is kosher without any explanation otherwise .. RUDE??? ... I had to give it up to the coat check staff for dealing with so many people trying to get their jackets. Overall the night was a success!

If you plan to have a regular dinner at the 42nd location please note that you go across the street to grand central station to the west balcony. It's an open air cafe vibe and you will be able to see people going to and from trains. This location is not like a regular closed restaurant. The host did make reservations for us at the 57th street location. We were celebrating our anniversary and I did not want to stay in grand central to eat. When people make reservations at this location the whereabouts of the actual dinner location should be specified.

This place is absolutely amazing! From the gorgeous decor to the food! I've never felt more in heaven in my entire life. I went for an event and everything was free so I don't really know much about the pricing but I do know they throw some great after parties. The lighting was gorgeous. Everything was so classy. They had wait staff coming around with finger foods (croque monsieur, weenies, chicken croquet, prosciutto on a breadstick, grilled shrimp, and avocado and artichoke in a little tortilla bowl). It was little bites of wonder in your mouth. The bar was gorgeous! They had anything you wanted, drink as much as you pleased. The bartenders were all very friendly and definitely entertained us. Their salad bar was to die for. Avocado and tomato salad, tomato and mozzarella salad, and the cold sea food salad (shrimp, squid, and scallops). The buffet style food was great! I tried the salmon, steak, rice, and two different types of pastas. All in all this was a wonderful time with great food, friends, and fun!

Was here for an event today with over 400 people! That is always a challenge to serve that many people, but this was perfectly executed and the food was outstanding! Sitting at the table when we arrived was a plate with proscuitto, fresh mozzarella and arugula. The waiters then came around with delicious, warm croissant rolls. Shortly after the main dish was served a perfectly cooked mushroom risotto and lovely large piece of chilean sea bass. Dessert was tiramisu in a chocolate cup with fresh berries on the side. Keep the belini's coming! Highly recommend this event space with food prepared by Cipriani!
