Extremely authentic Cantonese food.
Not really sure why there are so many negative reviews because every time I go, the food is delicious, service is fast, and the waiters are very nice. They gave us 3 free dishes too. Highly recommend.

Food was so good! I love their chicken feet! The only thing is that they are a bit pricey other than that the service was great and food was great!

Be the first to ReplyOrdered lunch special to try out the place but for around
Ordered lunch special to try out the place but for around $10 you get a container 3/4 full of rice and 1/4 full of entree/protein. The spice salt pork chop came with 4 small pieces and each piece was between 50-70 % all bone. There was no pork chop just bone pieces with a little bit of meat attached. The chicken and broccoli barely adds up to a small chicken tender with the small julienne chicken strips provided. Despite the competition, it seems like all the places in Flushing load up on rice and skimp on entree/protein even non-lunch portions they charge 3x price ($22-29) and is skimpy on protein. Whereas one of my favorite places in NJ, gives huge entree portion, separate rice and terrific hot and sour soup with plenty of strips of pork for $9 lunch entree!

Be the first to ReplyFood- food is decent and basic Chinese style so can't go
Food- food is decent and basic Chinese style so can't go wrong usually. I use to go to the Chinatown location as a kid with my family and get the bamboo rice but it tasted different when I had it recently. The food here is usually decent but the salt and pepper pork chop was extremely salty but we had it with rice so it worked out ok. They actually gave us two desserts on the house after our meal which was a pleasant surprise. They gave use the classic red bean soup and a scallion almond cookie? The cookie was warm, and sweet and savory. The cookie was my favorite. Overall food is decent. Service- I saw a lot of people not liking the service but when I came all the staff was very nice. So all is good ~Vibe- it's a standard Cantonese atmosphere. The decor is a little random at some parts but overall is nice. Definitely a family vibe and I can imagine it can get loud when the place gets full but this is the atmosphere I grew up with so I feel at home.Overall, it is good :D
Be the first to ReplyVery unprofessional staff, rude customer service.
I ordered Poon Choi for New Years Eve a week in advance got there to pick up and was told all the poon choi for the days are all picked up. Had to wait 30 mins for the food. What's the point of order in advance? We were so disappointed when we started eating and notice missing oyster, fried chicken, bbq pork. There were 5 pieces of duck neck and 3 pieces of meat. $368 for the Poon Choi of 6 people. Is it worth it? Will never order from this place again. Nasty food do not eat from this place.
Be the first to ReplyDim sum was OK.
Price is little high compared to all other places. I would say East Buffet dim sum is the best, but having dinner at Congee Village is the best in Flushing. There chefs is just spectacular !
Be the first to ReplyHorrible customer service.
Very disorganized staff. Had a pick up order scheduled a day in advanced for 4pm and waited an hour still. Never coming here again.
Be the first to ReplyI really wanna like CV and i don't wanna be negative around
I really wanna like CV and i don't wanna be negative around new year time but how do you not have desert soup at Lunar New Year time??? To add insult to injury, the wait for the dishes took forever. There was no rhythm, just waiting, one dish at a time. I'm like dude we're not doing a banquet here. Even worse, the manager lied when we ordered the lobster w sticky rice. He straight out said we're not doing that. Then we spotted two other tables that got it!! The waitstaff saved the day, the server hooked us up and rushed our dishes out. The servers there are so cool and nice but the managers have repeatedly shown themselves not to have customer service skills. We're regulars and we're not a pushy family, we're very polite and patient and we tip really well...what insult...i'm at the end of my rope....i can't continue to support this place even though their food quality is admittedly decent. Good thing the servers are a nice bunch of people. The atmosphere is cool too. But their management have got to get their act together and hire more kitchen staff. Come on dude the pandemic isn't an excuse anymore...
Be the first to ReplyWent for thanksgiving with my family.
I remember the food being really good, especially the conch. Very surprised there are so many bad reviews I thought our waiter was nice and our food was delicious. Going back tomorrow for Chinese New Year!
Be the first to ReplyBeen craving for good decent congee for a while.
The ones I had were either too watery, not enough meat and flavors in there or just don't taste right. But this pork and century egg congee's the bomb! They say NYC's the land of food, bunch of hidden gems out there for you to explore. I've tried a lot of dimsum places but I actually like the har gao from Congee Village best. It's packed with shrimp and the skin is actually soft and thin! Unlike the other ones I had where their skin's too thick. Oh! Not to mention bitter gourd!! It's a hot or miss dish, either you're a fan or you hate it. I can't say much about it as only lovers would know the love for it. Pretty much like durian. Well, peeps do check out congee village if you're craving nice congee or part of the bitter gourd fan! ;)
Be the first to ReplyMaybe it's cheap for a local, but for a Brazilian student
Maybe it's cheap for a local, but for a Brazilian student it was a bit expensive. The food was great, mainly the spring rolls. They offer a really good tea. The environment is good and the staff were efficient.
Be the first to ReplyTheir steamed rice noodle is the best.
I ordered the beef steamed rice noodle and roast pork steamed rice noodle. It's authentic Cantonese taste and soft enough (not over cooked). Highly recommended
Be the first to ReplyCongee Village in Flushing serves great authentic Cantonese
Congee Village in Flushing serves great authentic Cantonese dishes with a large amount of seating. Overall, we enjoyed a solid Cantonese dinner without having to wait on any lines and in a very comfortable atmosphere. Only negatives were 1 out 8 dishes being not great, some slow service, and the wait time for that one dish. We had a huge party which they were able to accommodate on a busy Saturday night due to their abundance of 10 ppl tables with lazy susans. We were lucky we had some people who spoke Cantonese to wave down the waiters and order our food. This experience could have been different if there was that language barrier or without the insight of what to order from our Canto friends. Foodwise, we ordered:Young Chow Fried Rice: a classic banquet dish - yellowish fried riceSautéed Snow Pea Leaves w/ Garlic: a super tasty vegetable dish; try it one day if you have never had themSalted Fish, Chicken, Eggplant Casserole: a little smaller than expected, but very flavorful and a great compliment to riceRice baked w/ Chicken & Mushroom: very flavorful served in cute bamboo containersJumbo Shrimp with Walnuts: a classic banquet dish - served with broccoli and some mayo-like sauce. The shrimp were a little less Jumbo than expected. Don't skip the walnuts, ours were really tasty.Beef Chow Fun Noodles - a common Cantonese restaurant dish - ours was devoured in minutesSalt and Pepper Snails - another Cantonese dish which involves more work on the eater's part. You can either use a toothpick to extract the snail meat and discard the black flap of the snail or (without the need of a toothpick) suck on the end of the snail, and then the front of the snail to extract the meat. The one disappointing dish:Sautéed Silver Fish and Dried Squid with Chinese Celery - this dish took ages (20+ minutes) to come out. The green onions and celery were nicely flavored, but they clearly skimped on the fish/dried squid. I have seen other restaurants do the silver fish more justice. Our meal ended with some complimentary seasonal fruits (watermelon) and egg tarts (but they didn't have enough for our table...). Overall a great meal - if I need another food spot for a large group near Flushing, Congee Village will be on my list.
Be the first to ReplyI have been to the location in Chinatown years ago and I
I have been to the location in Chinatown years ago and I loved it. I just discovered there was also this location, so I decided to order delivery. I ordered some soup dumplings, a congee (chicken, pork and duck), and steamed rice rolls. The congee was good as usual, that is the one thing this place has on point. However i cannot say the same for my other two dishes. The delicious congee is the only reason why I gave 2 stars instead of 1.The soup dumplings were the driest I've had in my entire life. The dough was very thick and chewy, and did not have any soup in them. They were wrapped tightly around the meat, so there wasn't even any space for it. It was more like a bao.On my delivery app I requested that they put soy sauce, peanut butter and sesame seeds on the steamed rice roll notes, but they didn't. It wasn't a big deal because I wasn't sure if they had peanut butter for it in the first place. But when I openedthe container, there was BARELY any soy sauce on the rolls. The title of the dish was "steamed rice rolls with soy sauce" but they were white when I got them. In my pictures, the rolls are a very light brown because I put the soy sauce from my soup dumplings in the bowl and shook it vigorously. There was still barely any sauce on them. Then while I was eating there was a HAIR on my rice noodle. It was short, straight and black. My hair is long, curly and blue/brown colors so there is no chance it was me. I could not eat it and reported the issue on the delivery app.I love the congee here but I will never order from this location again. If I absolutely have to, I would only get a congee, none of the other dishes.
Be the first to ReplyWhile cruising through Flushing streets for a place to eat,
While cruising through Flushing streets for a place to eat, we kind of ended up in this restaurant because of bright light, and traditional Chinse decor. We asked for recommendations from waitress, and her recommendations were spot on. Dishes were gigantic, delicious, and tender. We loved it. This place huge, clean, and restrooms were the cleanest in Flushing. Absolutely recommending for out of towners such as us to have a traditional Chinese food experience, in a family environment. Definitely try Chicken fried rice that comes inside of bamboo.
Be the first to ReplyGet ready to wait up to an hour for your food.
Wasn't even that busy, two tables empty next to us. Don't understand how you can mess up running a restaurant this bad.
Be the first to ReplyStopped in for lunch on a Saturday.
It wasn't too busy but I agree with most reviews that service was a bit lacking. Had to flag down people to take our order and asked for water and never saw that server again so had to ask someone else. That said the dishes we ordered were flavorful and were prepared in a timely manner.
Be the first to ReplyStaffs are unprofessional and the food comes out awfully
Staffs are unprofessional and the food comes out awfully late. I would not come here again this establishment needs a lot of work. food comes out cold too.
Be the first to ReplyIdk what's going on with this place.
The service has always been bad but it's bad from Chinatown all the way to flushing. You'd expect flushing have better service but no just a bunch of unwelcoming waiters. I ask for extra napkins the waiter came back with 1 but it was dirty. My kid dropped their chopstick and waited 10min before a new pair was obtained by the waiter, at that point food is going cold. I always liked their lobster sticky rice but the recipes deff changed, idk why they adding salty egg yolk in it , disgusting. A lot of flavors changed with other dishes I use to order. I hope it's not the chef playing with the menu cause some things are way too salty, might as well cook at home. Portions also got smaller but tip percentage higher.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food, good ambience, wait time for food is so long,
Great food, good ambience, wait time for food is so long, and service is meh. Considering is Chinese new year and not all tables are full, wait time for food is about 1 hour. Sigh... we ordered 8 dishes - all is good except their squid salt pepper - it came out way too salty. Their snow peas is very good - different than other Chinese restaurant the way it was cook. The garlic soy chicken and seafood fish mao soup are excellent. Overall, good hang out place with friends and family since the food takes forever to come out For 8 dishes, it took us almost 2.5 hours.

I been a long time customer of this place. Started off eating here in chinatown back with my parents. It was one of the best and most authentic Cantonese cuisines. Even though the service was always beyond lacking the food was good. I been coming to this flushing location for awhile since I moved, the level of service here was just plain terrible. The waiters never come bother to take the orders. Even if you get a hold of one of them, they tell you to hold on and then vanishes when it's not even busy. The most annoying part is they act like they deserve the tips, don't even say thank you so I really have no idea why I dine in for zero service. Most importantly, the food is terrible lately, the flavors are not the same and I would know since I been a long time customer. It has always been pretty consistent but when I got take out the other day, it was just not the same. Missing utensils too. Maybe I'll try the chinatown one for last shot but, very very disappointing as the food change so drastically. Overly salty and msg for just some stir fry veggies and beef. Don't know if I want to waste more money on salty msg food.
Be the first to ReplyHere to celebrate my mom's birthday.
I am Very disappointed with the service, and the wait time. The portion is very small and expensive. The place is very disorganized. We order foods are mostly onion and other vegetables rather than beef chicken. I wold not recommend people come here for a dinner. Don't get fool by the name is very different from the original store in Chinatown.
