Wow! The brunch at Cookshop was so delicious that I want to go back already. The hostess was incredibly nice and our server was very attentive, pleasant, and chatty. The interior is lovely and bustling but in a good way with everyone and everything having a purpose. The outdoor covered seating was also a neat option, but we did eat in the energetic dining room. Just the regular coffee was very good with milk of your choice. The fluffy fried beignets with the jam on the bottom were delightful. They were topped with powdered sugar and were a sweet treat to start our meal. The poached egg dish was perfectly prepared from the sweet potato hummus to the runny egg centers to the crunchy seed topping. This dish is a can't miss especially with that grilled sourdough bread on the side. If you are in NY, I highly recommend this green market hot spot!

Came here after doing a Peloton class with my aunt nearby! We had a 5 PM reservation and we sat outside. Blankets were provided but the heater lights were just enough.I'm not even joking when I say the "Focaccia whipped ricotta, olive oil, lemon, rosemary" bread was the best bread and dip I have ever tried! Warm, soft bread too.For my main meal, I got the Sun Dried Tomato Pizza that was the perfect size for one! I'll definitely be back when I am on that part of the city and already told my NYC friends about this place!

Freshly prepped food, skillfully, prepared, and a artsy but chill environment, created a lovely evening and a delightful experience for our group. Especially nice was our all burnt haired, beautiful and sweet waitress, who took the best care of us, and ensure that everything was perfect.:-)

Don't bother making a reservation ( at least for Sunday lunch). We showed up on time and weren't seated until more than 30 minutes after our reservation time. Tables were empty but no one to clear them. Clearly understaffed.Menu is limited and couldn't even accommodate a request for a side salad or even some sliced tomatoes.Ran out of items on the already limited menu. With so many choices in Manhattan, no need to return.

The menu featured really unique and inviting dishes, as an indecisive eater, it was difficult to commit to just one.I went with the brodetto and it was well balanced and fresh; paired well with the pino noir. The service was attentive and even brought me an additional slice of bread to sop up my remaining broth upon request. The ambiance was relaxed and modern, a great date night spot or dinner with close company. Only caveat was the focaccia bread we ordered was a bit over cooked, but was still tasty regardless.

Came here for brunch with my husband and loved it! We sat in the covered outdoor patio area which was well heated in the cold. Service was quick and attentive. We shared the huevos rancheros which we both loved. Super flavorful and the crispy tortilla strips and pickled onion on top were really great accompaniments. We also got a side of potato hash which was well seasoned as well as the sourdough bread which was delicious and came with an amazing flavorful herbed butter and some sort of fruit compote that was tart and sweet. We also got the pork croquettes to start which were perfectly crispy and soft on the inside with lots of flavor from a mustard sauce. Will definitely have to come back to try more!

Delicious Valentine's Day lunch in the outdoor heated eating area of Cookshop! I loved my crispy chicken sandwich, mostly because of the pickled cabbage, pickles, and sauce that made it so special. But my husband's Roadted Chicken Sandwich was absolutely delicious! The meet was so tender, and the salsa verde was a nice touch. It was over a salad with many different greens and vegetables including a watermelon radish which I always love. The service was attentive, the ambience was lovely (even outdoors by the street) and the food was top notch. After our walk on the high line and trip to the Little Island this was a perfect place for lunch.

Highly recommend coming here for brunch with a group or with family. It's nice and airy, open concept. The breakfast sandwich was really great and was very flavorful. Definitely get the biscuit with jam, it is absolutely worth it. Cocktails were good and everything seemed reasonably priced.Service was good.Always looking for good brunch places and highly recommend this spot. I'll be back for sure.5/5
Be the first to ReplyWe had a great dinner here on Friday night.
We found this restaurant because it is part of the same family as Shukette, which a friend recommended. I had the cornmeal dusted scallops, which were very good. They came with a homemade tartar sauce that went really well with the dish. My mom had the cod fritters and the focaccia with ricotta. Both were very good. We split the toffee cake for dessert, which I would highly recommend. It was pretty busy so I would also recommend making a reservation in advance.

Make reservations ahead of time, the place does get packed for brunch. I got here around 11.30am on a Sat and there was a decent amount of people. I got the burger (medium rare) with fries $23. The burger was really juicy and a decent size. The fries were a little salty but I liked that they were the thin ones. I also a mimosa - seemed to heavy on champagne which I really enjoyed! My portion of the meal was $33.75 (before tip). Decent price for getting a drink and a meal! The menu is not overwhelming and easy to review.Great service and cute ambiance!!

Solid food spot! This was recommended to us by some locals and they weren't wrong on the food being pretty good here.I ordered the steak which came with a delicious pairing of potatos next to it. I got it medium rare, which was perfect. It's also a great portion. I would recommend it for anyone who's around this block of time.

I know Cookshop has been around for many many years but this was the first time I had a meal here. Good service, fantastic brunch menu, and convenient location!

One day visiting NYC, my bestie and I ended up at Cookshop for lunch. Beautiful restaurant, with small but great menu. Our server Jarvis was so awesome!!!

Good service. Good margarita. I liked the baked egg dish which came with a small salad. I did not like my stale coffee though.

Came here in a Saturday afternoon for brunch with my friends. We were early so we had drinks at the small but cute bar. I had the watermelon a sugar- perfect summer drink. We were seated promptly. The restaurant is very cute- bright and open layout with outdoor seating- we chose to stay in. Our waiter Alfredo was hilarious and took great care of me and my five friends. Service was pretty quick but I found the menu to be kind of limited. I hope they'll add more options. 4 of the ladies had the chicken salad and loved it. Another friend had the burger- I assume it was good- her plate was empty. I had the egg sandwich which was just ok- I wouldn't order it again. Overall I enjoyed the atmosphere and service- also the drinks were great. I'll definitely stop in again.

Came for brunch on a nice morning and the waiter told us he would rather be anywhere else and then proceeded to prove it by nearly ignoring us for the duration. It was not easy to get anything out of the distracted staff and I had to ask twice for flatware and cream. There were plenty of staff as they had lots of time to chat with each other and treated our table as annoying interruptions. I get it, service is a hard job but if you don't wanna do it, then find something else. It's forgivable at a basic restaurant but at a place charging these prices? They should be willing and able to do the basics of waiting tables.

This is a good place to have a casual good food in NYC , lunch is great , Ames Garcรญa was our server , he was great !! My office is across the street so I have been hear many times, this time I came on Sunday with my family and I have the disgrace to be attack by Julia Abramovich (kind of pretending Summelier) rude as I never see one , and I have to say I m chef from Barcelona michelin starred in NYC , I never mentioned that to the servers, she basically insulted my wife because we did not pick her wine suggestion, it's a shame she needs to be fired , she can drain the wine sales and customer experience

First-I call and make a reservation with their system that it will be 4 adults and a baby- great confirmed. When my friends and their baby arrived they are given attitude to why we didn't make it for 5??????I thought that was clearMoving on-You sit us at tiny table next to oncoming traffic- fine. You recommend the toast with my meal - fine.I do t need attitude from you when you don't have enough surface space to hold all the plates to enjoy our overrated ( watery eggs) I see why you pushed for bread. I cancel much to your dismay 25 minutes waiting for my second round of gin and tonic and I have to go to the bar to get it done while you- purposely at this point skate around prepping tables and ignoring my order. Then you try to bill me for it ? Just my opinion but leave the industry if you can't even do the minimum. Especially at an establishment that charges 20 with tip for said gin and tonics and even more for average eggs on tomato. My favorite was the turn in attitude worse then before when you know we were on the way outA joke Currently eating a meal down the road to justify the trip and parking

I'm late to this popular brunch but I'm definitely happy I decided to join in! Definitely make a reservation as it's as packed as ever. Hostess was quick to seat us (whole party must be present) and our server was so friendly and attentive. The Baked French Toast was phenomenal and the Eggs scrambled with mushrooms and creme fraiche were creamy and delicious. I had a coffee (wasn't on the menu but $4 with free refills) and they brought me a side of warmed oat milk. Such a pretty restaurant, lively atmosphere, fantastic food. I'm returning to try the beignets!!!

This is one of those cozy places that you can never go wrong with. I went here on a date with my boyfriend and we were both blown away with how fresh and tasty the food was. Additionally their service was really good and the waitress offered great recommendations as it was our first time. I would definitely go back with friends or family.
Be the first to ReplyIt is expensive but a good place to go with friends.
The weather was amazing, so my friends and I decided to sit outside for brunch. The waitress (with short hair) was so friendly and also well-informed about the vegan options. Potato Hash was tasty and its portion is enough. I really recommend it! I also tried Green Juice and Citrus Salad that were okay but not perfect and their portion was very small when we think about their price. My non-vegan boyfriend said that Scramble and Coffee with oat milk were very delicious. It's also good that they have plant-based milk options. We only asked for oat milk but I don't know the other options. The portion of French Fries was also big. My other friends tried Pomelita, Burger, and French Toast and they also liked them.
