Got in on a Saturday night at the last min with appointment trader. They have a DJ on Thurs, Fri & Sat every week- making the vibes immaculate, seriously best vibe of a restaurant I’ve been to in a while. And the fried chicken was incredible. If you can’t handle spicy, most of their dishes are that. But the original Coqodaq chicken bucket - the first one brought out - consists of perfectly crispy and juicy fried chicken. Def my fav plate of all plates. The flavor on everything else is a close second. So unique and worth it for the ambiance. 10/10
Four of us on a Sunday evening.
Waited in the line for people without reservations. Got on line just before 4:30 and easily got a table for four outside. No wait (when they opened at 5:00) although they understandably seated all the "with reservation" people first. The service was fine. Nothing to note positive or negative. The food was a complete disappointment. Is this better than fried chicken from pretty much anywhere else? Not for anyone in our group. Maybe we just don't understand the thrill of eating fried chicken that is expensive and comes with a few asian sides. Small pieces of chicken, bone-in made it worse, and lots, lots, lots of breading. Literally not one of us had any idea what the fuss is about. We should have believed the overall Yelp rating of 3.6. That is not a good number but it's fair even though higher than our rating/opinion. The rest room was clean.

If you've been to Cote then you'll know the general vibe to expect here at Coqodaq. It's an elegant yet fun atmosphere with dimmer lighting and excellent service. It's a bit quieter here, but just as beautiful. We went ahead and ordered the "bucket list", paralleling the "butcher's feast" you'd find at Cote. This set menu lets you enjoy two servings of chicken -- one plain with four small squeeze bottles of sauce to explore, and another tossed in either soy garlic or gochujang glaze. The chicken was very good, with a nicely crisp exterior and a juicy interior. I enjoyed trying all of the different sauces (gochujang bbq, honey mustard, jun verde, and pepper parmesan), each differing quite a lot from the next, and found it hard to pick a favorite. I preferred this to the single flavor of chicken tossed in sauce, though the opinion was split at our table. The only thing to warn about here is that the "bucket" of plain chicken is nowhere near as deep as it looks -- the actual bottom of the bucket is near the top and almost all of the chicken is visible immediately. Alongside the chicken there is a variety of banchan and a simple scallion salad. Now that I've discussed the star of the show, let's not forget about the rest of the menu. The meal starts with a simple cup of chicken consomme, which is warm and flavorful. After the chicken, you're also served a beautiful nest of noodles in a lighter sauce that wonderfully cleanses the palate after all the chicken you just had. And the meal has a fun ending with straightforward soft serve topped with a fruit topping. There was one other item outside this set that caught our attention -- the caviar-topped chicken nuggets. At $16/$28 a piece, you could be eating dozens of chicken nuggets elsewhere for the price. Was it worth it? Not really. The chicken nugget itself is good but nothing groundbreaking. A large dollop of caviar is placed on top, which almost justifies the price, but the flavors don't pair together that well and we were left unimpressed. Perhaps it's worth it for the photo and the laughs, but I wouldn't buy this again otherwise. Overall, this is the place to go if you want fancy fried chicken. It's significantly more expensive than eating chicken of comparable quality elsewhere, but you get the service and the sauces that justify the price -- just don't be tempted by the nuggets. As you walk out of the restaurant, one nice final touch is a row of sinks right by the door so you can wash up after the meal. Eight different fancy bottles of soap sit on a tray, giving you a choice of scent as you exit and go on with your night.

As one of the most hyped up restaurant openings in NY, it delivered on some aspects, but I feel like it fell a bit flat on the general premise - to create better fried chicken. NOTE: resy mentions that walk-ins for 2 is only available for open and closing, but it might be worded incorrectly bc Coqodaq has plenty of bar, high top, and outdoor seating for 2 guests. Ambiance starts at a 5/5 -- entrance to the resturant starts with washroom sinks lined with luxury soaps. Great move since your hands will be getting messy with chicken ! Golden Arches create that fine dining aesthetic you'd want for date night. Food wise - I personally think that (yes, even though the entree is "only" fried chicken), the $38 pp bucket feast is quite worth it when looking at it from a fine dining lens. Your getting bon chon, a chicken feast, cold noodles , and dessert for the cost of a single entree at other places :) Really liked the idea of giving 4 sauces to use for chicken, and the house made gochugang sauce was my favorite. I did feel as if the chicken was too crispy, which got rough for my mouth after the first few bones, and would love to go back if they released non-crispy versions of the bucket.

Known for their fried chicken, Coqodaq makes a fried chicken with an amazing CRUNCH. But that's as good as it gets. For a Korean restaurant, the flavors seem to have been sterilized for an American palate. Much like how Taco Bell is to Mexican food. Although the gochujang chicken doesn't claim to be spicy, it tased like a regular western style bbq sauce. The Banchan was quite flavorless, including the kimchee. Presentation was great. Unique serving dishes and plates. I must be clueless or not hip to the latest trends because after the meal, we were served frozen yogurt (which I thoroughly enjoyed), but it was in a paper cup with a wooden spoon. Cute, but a bit of a let down after the beautiful entree presentation. The service was as good as can be expected for a fast table turning establishment. Being on the out edge of a booth, when you can barely hear the conversation that you dining companion is trying to have with you is not a great experience. The noise in here was so loud, waiter could not hear us. And when he tried to speak to the people sitting on the inside of the booth, he had to scream, right in my ear! After we finished the yogurt, the server immediately brought our check. Did not ask if we wanted anything else, no additional drinks, nothing. He must have been hoarse from yelling. To sum it up, great crunch on the chicken, nice presentation and reasonable prices. Been there, done that, moving on.
First -- this place has awesome fried chicken.
It is truly great. The atmosphere is gorgeous, and it is possibly the most reasonably priced hyped new place in Flatiron. But all in all, it's still fried chicken, and while the take out place across the street may not be AS good, it's still pretty good. So it's not somewhere I would necessarily go again. (Although my husband is in 100% opposition to that thought process.)

The owner of Michelin Starred Korean BBQ restaurant Cote recently opened up a korean fried chicken place a few months back. It's almost impossible to get bookings but walk ins are encouraged for spots by the bar. I read usually there could be an hour to 2 wait for these walk ins but we got a spot instantly. Lucky us. The food was really good and among the best korean fried chicken we ever had and the " Bucket list" consisting of a consume chicken brith and ginseng drink, two flavors of fried chicken, 4 bon chons that uses their acidic ingredients to help help cut through some of the fat of the fried food between bites, a small cold noodle as a pallet cleanser, and a tart frozen yogurt dessert to complete the meal. For this caliber of food, it was a great value at $38 a person and was very fulfilling. Too bad they forgot our consume drink. We didn't notice until we got home and looked at the menu again that we noticed this but despite that, it was still a great dinner. We heard great things about the drink though once we confirmed from youtube videos that we were really missing this. I guess I could chalk this mistake up to the restaurant still being relatively new at around 3 months old as of this review. We also added a mac and cheese side dish upon the recommendation of our friendly server and that was a great choice too. I was tempted to get the double fried fries but that might have been fried food overload so I skipped that this time. There is a nice selection of hand soap and two sinks at the very front of the restaurant when you just walk in the door. We were mystified of the location of this until after we ate and then realized it was for washing your hands before you start to get your dirty hands greasy from eating the fried chicken bare handed. Doh... PS. I sadly took one star out for mistakenly not being sereved our consume part of our bucket list meal but otherwise I would have said it would have been a 5 star meal.
So I loved Cote but I LOVED Cocodaq.
Fried Chicken and Champagne is the best combo. Do not get anything except the bucket list here, it is the move. Two courses of fried chicken, what did I do to get so lucky to get to experience this?! We went with the Gochujang Glaze for the 2nd course, which was not spicy, thank God! With all of the accoutrements, this was the perfect amount of food, perfect amount of sauce, perfect amount of textures. We got the mini bottle that was bottled just for Cocodaq and it was one of the better champagnes we've tried. Pricey but worth it. I can't wait for the next opportunity I get to go to have this. Thank you Cocodaq for making my birthday so special!

Now I know why it's been so difficult to get a reservation there. The great food is matched by the beautiful decor. It is a very pretty restaurant. Very trendy and happening. Great service as well. I highly recommend it!
Just ok
I loved COTE and was supremely disappointed by this new restaurant under the same company. It was just.. average and I struggled to muster an appreciation for the concept (fried chicken revolutionized). It’s worth visiting once to try it, but that is about it. P.S. I had the consommé, the golden nugetts, the big fried chicken box (forgot the name), perilla noodles, and house-made frozen yogurt.
Not your grandmothers fried chicken!!!
I was fortunate enough to secure a reservation here during a work trip to NYC this past weekend (6/22). From when you walk in the door to when you leave - you are treated like you are the only customer there. The staff is spectacular, knowledgeable, engaging and FUN!!! Simon Kim and his team have taken the "humble" fried chicken and elevated it to a culinary masterpiece at an affordable price. The decor is mind blowing. I watched the concept video on how this came to fruition and when I saw the arches I was truly blown away. I was so engrossed in the meal, the ambience and experience - I didn't even take photos. Did NOT disappoint!!!
Worthy of the hype
There's a lot of hype and thankfully it lived up to expectations. Crispy and very juicy chicken cooked perfectly. While the "bucket" is served in two ways, my favorite was just The plan version with the sauces on the side. The plain chicken was my favorite and version coated with gochujang sauce was nice but a little too 'saucy'. The cold perilla seed noodles were also very tasty as well as the 'salad' that came as a side. We also ordered the fries and Mac & cheese. Both were good but probably not needed since the bucket was already a lot of food. Overall I really enjoyed it and its not that expensive if you just stick to the chicken and avoid the caviar and champagne.

Been thinking about this review. Lots to like and some stuff not to like. To like: Very quirky original Korean chicken joint. Nothing like your KFC. The room is spectacular full of trendy clientele. We turned up at 5.15 on the hope of a walk in. It opens at 5 and it was rammed. They said it would be 1 to 1.5 hours so we stayed for cocktails. The cocktails were very good. Two and a half hours later though I started to make enquiries about food. Due to being pushy (fueled by too many cocktails on an empty stomach) they miraculously found us a table. We ordered the bucket list which consisted of: A thimble full of chicken consume. A starter of chicken nuggets with various sauces (the best of which was gojujang.) A main of chicken drumsticks coated in gojujang. Dessert of frozen yoghurt. Very interesting and not too pricey (except for the gallons of cocktails we drank) considering the venue. However, not sure why you would go there twice unless you have a chicken fix.
Unforgettable
This restaurant offers exceptional service, and the food is carefully-crafted and conceived. We went with our kids for a 9pm reservation, and they were the only children in the restaurant (which is a fun, loud, trendy vibe). This is actually where my 12-year-old was begging to dine. We were treated with kindness by everyone we encountered. I hadn't eaten meat for 5 years, and actually indulged in a few bites of fried chicken -- it did not disappoint! The drinks were also delicious, as were all the sides. Amazingly, our server comp'd our ENTIRE meal. It was an unexpected twist, and made an already-special night one that we won't ever forget.
Best Fried Chicken EVER.
This was hands down my favorite of many good meals my most recent trip to NYC. Pairing fried chicken with champagne is my new favorite thing! We did the bucket, which at $38 pp is an (I think) amazing deal! The fried chicken was unbelievably good, and I am by no means a fried chicken lover - but this I LOVED. I am also still thinking about the dessert that ended the meal, some of the best froyo I have ever tasted. Reservations are hard to get, I got one for 11pm and despite being very tired from a busy first day in NYC, I am so glad we went here. I cannot wait for our next trip!
The Oracle Of NYC Fried Chicken
The Coqodaq, located in the NYC Flatiron district, is a unique fried chicken eatery. The architecture of the property is splendid: the interior exudes a dark and moody ambiance, arches of lights create captivating visuals for diners and the main dining area features green leather and dark walnut booths flanked by a central walkway. The name fuses French and Korean words for chicken. From the menu I jumped on a chicken package called the 'Bucket List'. The meal starts with a cup of consomme, next, comes banchan: pickled daikon, celery and more. The fried chicken is served in 2 waves: first 'naked' with homemade dipping sauces , like barbecue and honey mustard; then, in Korean style with either a gochujang or soy garlic sauce. After the chicken there is still a bowl of noodles tossed with soy sauce, seaweed and perilla leaves plus lemon soft serve for dessert. This is a delicious chicken fried assembly with all sorts of sides, a generous quantity of food at an extremely economical price. Coqodaq is the oracle of NYC fried chicken.
Upon entrance is a wash station with top tier cleansers.
Interior design and decor is beautiful. I was disappointed with the chicken. It was average, even with the caviar. The tuna tartar trio was Ah May Zing! I definitely will come back for cocktails and tuna tartar at the bar.

The food was good, but I wouldn't say it's worth the wait on the line out the door at 5PM. Also impossible to get a reservation online unless you're a bot or know someone there. They also do not take online reservations for groups less than 4. So you have to show up and hope to get a table. Overall vibe is on the high end classy side but doesn't feel snobby, and at $38 per person on the bucket is great value (compared to other places with similar vibes). We waited for an hour (arriving at 5:15 and already a 1hr waitlist? Okay.) and had drinks at the bar. Excellent drinks, not shy with the amount of alcohol. There were also a bunch of empty tables that were still not filled by the time we were seated so don't understand why we had to wait an hour to be seated (we were group of 3, empty tables were for 3 too). Tables extremely close together and we were seated at a high top that didn't have enough space for all our food. We sat down at 6:15 and when we were placing our order TWO OF THE SIDES WERE ALREADY SOLD OUT. Mind you, the restaurant opens at 5 and two of the sides were already gone by 6:15. The chicken was very very similar to Pelicana Chicken, so it was good. Perfect crunch but flavors could be more bold. The sides that we did get were decent, basically same sides you get at Korean BBQ places.

Ordered "The Bucket List"; underwhelming given the hype, chicken cooked well but wish the glazes had stronger flavor. What came with The Bucket List (for 2 people): - 7 pieces of original fried chicken. 5 pieces of soy garlic (and added 2 gochujang wings a la carte). - Something that caught me off guard: approximately half of the pieces were boneless wings. The Food: - Small selection of sides (radishes, cabbage, scallion salad). These didn't enhance the meal (like the sides do at Cote). - Original chicken was juicy and when combined with the 4 sauces tasted great. - Soy Garlic & Gochujang tasted flat flavor wise to me. Both flavors were muted, I wish they were bolder and more robust. For $76 for 12 pieces of chicken (with half being boneless wings), the expectation is the chicken and sides will be absolute hits. I didn't think the sides enhanced the meal and the glazes didn't really pack a punch flavor wise. The chicken was juicy and fried well - if the team made some adjustments to the glazes I think this could easily be a superb and well rounded KFC option, as they have the fundamentals down. Tables for 2 were positioned almost right next to each other, so be prepared to have little to no privacy if you don't go with a group.

This place made me come back to revising food again. Every bite I took I had to look at the person I was there eating with like is this real ? Please I welcome you to go try this place. It's a must period. Mac n cheese side is how Mac should be btw. The chicken smh is all I can say. Go please just go.

Amazing execution from the masters behind COTE!! The restaurant itself was beautiful -- dim, intimate but lively, not to mention those arches were so cool! They had the perfect lighting to showcase the dishes (and for pictures of course). I love their take on elevated korean fried chicken. We ordered a round of drinks, and I got sold on their signature "the egg" cocktail. I thought it was too sweet and the presentation fell short. The caviar nugget came first, for $28/each I expected more. It came with a nice, heaping portion of caviar. The nugget itself was cold and tasted almost stale. The flavor profile was very one dimensional, salty on salty. Definitely will skip this next time. The bucket list ($38/pp) was so worth! The meal started with a roasted chicken consomme. The red ginseng was a very nice palate opener. Super earthy and warm -- reminds me of home. Side dishes were ok, complimented the meal well. The chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. There were 4 different types of sauces that came in easy to use squeeze bottles. My favorite was the parmesan! The cold perilla noodles came after and it was so so refreshing! The meal finished off with froyo and a blueberry sauce -- just remarkable. Service was great! Overall, it was a fun time. I'm excited to come back!

The fried chicken is really excellent, if not 100% best-in-class. I preferred the bucket to the nuggets, but the nuggets were excellent too (including the caviar ones, which I personally find gimmicky but were still really enjoyable). The spicy rice cakes, fries, perilla noodles, and mac and cheese were all outstanding -- some of the best bites of the night. I also really liked the caesar, which had a tiny bit of a kick.

Extremely extremely EXTREMELY overhyped and not worth your money. Idk how else I can put it lol. All the fried chicken were fairly normal Korean fried chicken flavors and sauces were fine but nothing to rave about. Literally tastes like Bonchon or Pelicana. The perilla noodles were honestly the best part. The lychee drink with egg shaped ice was way too sweet. Service was very friendly and quick (because fried chicken is essentially fast food?) but ambiance was straight like Cote - super sceney vibey filled with influencers and basically a hip hop/rap club.

What happens when you mix Korean-style fried chicken with champagne and caviar? You apparently get a spot like Coqodaq. This spot was created by the people who brought us Cote, and experience-wise, it's very similar except trade steak with fried chicken. The restaurant is dark, loud, and sort of feels like a club. Like Cote, the service at Coqodaq is pretty attentive. I was surprised at how fast dishes were served but the place definitely doesn't rush you. They want you to have a good time. Also like Cote, the primary feature of the menu is a set menu, where the star is two courses of fried chicken accompanied by a couple appetizers and banchan (Korean sides). The star of the show, the fried chicken, was great, though if I were to be frank, it's not miles better than any good Korean fried chicken spot. As it turns out, fried chicken is still fried chicken at the end of the day. The banchan dishes are good and refills are on the house. The meal caps off with a cold noodle dish and frozen dessert (again, kinda like Cote). I like Coqodaq. It's a great vibe, it's fun, and the concept is works. Cote with fried chicken, what could go wrong? However, if you're the type of person who only cares about the food and nothing else, I don't think this place is anything revelatory. The chicken nugget with caviar is a little bit absurd, but I think it fits with the general vibe that this place doesn't take itself too seriously.

A gorgeous new destination in the Flatiron District, Coqodaq serves up Korean fried chicken in both traditional as well as a new and surprising ways — my favorite were the chicken nuggets topped with caviar and roe (definitely a YOLO menu item). The restaurant also boasts one of the best and biggest Champagne lists in the country.

Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!

Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!

Last minute reservation for Delilah Las Vegas
Got a last minute reservation, dinner for 2 at Delilah Las Vegas: super impressed! The process was simple, transaction seamless. We had an amazing time! Couldn’t be happier! 😍

Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!
Money transfer
As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.

Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue?
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
Payouts Blocked Because of Sell Through Rate
Does anyone know how AT plans to handle cases where a seller is quitting the platform but has a sell through rate <25%? The error message I got said to fill more bids or find other ways to increase the rate.
Is AT really going to block sellers from withdrawing their money? Especially revenue made before the sell through rate was introduced??

Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.

Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
