Stop! Go someplace else in Napa
We had an average dinner at the Coqueta in Yountville, but I feel that I wasted one of my nights out to dinner dining here when we could have had a good or great dinner elsewhere. Generally when we have Spanish food, we find the food or at least some dishes to be delicious. We were very underwhelmed at Coqueta. We ordered some shared tapas and a paella for the main dish. We enjoyed the patatas bravas, the presentation was nice and they tasted good. We also had the pan con tomate, which was below par. The tomato confiture just tasted off, not fresh tasting like you get in Spain or even other Spanish restaurants in the U.S. The mushroom dish, setas al ajillo, was HORRIBLE. They put so much vinegar in it, I fail to understand what they were trying to achieve. The paella they served was one of the most boring bland dishes I've eaten in a while. I think my morning oatmeal was more flavorful. The presentation of the paella was really nice. If you wanted to take a picture of it, it would look great on Instagram. But it seems like they cooked the seafood separately from the rice, because the rice was lacking flavor, salt, and saffron. The seafood on top tasted good though. Some positives: the cocktails were great A+, our dessert was classic, the service was nice and attentive enough.

My partner needed a bowl of cereal afterwards. While tasty, the tapa plates are miniscule. We were told they were shareable which meant one teaspoon bite per person. The faves were the Kale salad, padron peppers, We ordered the coquettes but they never arrived and when we asked our server we were told the order didn't get placed. Hence, we passed. Fifty dollars bought us 4 shrimp, 4 mussels, and 4 clams with a scoop of rice passing as paella. Good but not great given the price. Given all the restaurants in Yountville, we won't be back.

So glad we won’t need to go the the city anymore! A unique dining experience! Something for every appetite and taste including steaks, fish, Spanish tapas and drinks. Lunchtime is slower with more attentive service. Karena is the best! The 12 hour roasted pork belly sliders were amazing! Roasted pulpo with patatas, and paella delicious; comparable to our paella in Madrid, Barcelona and Valencia. The deck is heated. Menu is the same as in S. F. but vibe more relaxing. Something for everyone on their cocktail and wine list. Large parking lot and entrance on the south end of the building. Reservations best. Salud !!
Be the first to ReplyWell Heated Outdoor Seating with Great Food / Service
My husband and I went here for a light, late lunch / drinks when we first arrived in Yountville to celebrate the start of our honeymoon. We sat outside at the end of November, since they have pretty strong out door heaters. The service was wonderful - very friendly. They had good options for wine by the glass and the Championship "Policy" was well-balanced and beautiful. We had the Huevos Nacionales, Pulpo a la Parrilla and the Championes. The deviled eggs were perfect with a creamy filling and the perfect caviar accent. The octopus was so tender that left me wishing for more! I am a huge fan of mushrooms and eggs, especially with runny yolks, so I really enjoyed the Championes. Overall, we had a great experience and really enjoyed the food / drinks / being able to eat outdoors!!!

Food is way below average! Lots of oil on everything, food didn’t taste fresh. Service was very slow. We came at 4:30 at off time. The restaurant was pretty empty but they still gave us a hard time to get us seated . . I would not recommend it.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent Paella!
Excellent experience. We happened upon this restaurant walking down the street and we were very happy we went in. The sangria was just what we needed after a hot day walking around. The paella though was outstanding. We are still talking about it a couple weeks later. We had a seafood and a vegetarian and they were both excellent. We would definitely go back and highly recommend.

Wow, hard to believe I am writing a 1 star review for Coquetta, but what can I say. I've dined at Coqueta San Francisco many times and always had a wonderful experience, both food and service. I had high hopes for the same here as we were visiting Napa for our anniversary weekend. From the moment we arrived and through dinner, the service was uncaring and a bit amateurish. This was the only restaurant of our long weekend where our anniversary was not even acknowledged. On a positive note, the tables here are packed very tight, and so you do end up having conversation with nearby diners, which we enjoyed. The couple sitting next to us was also celebrating an anniversary, which was also not acknowledged. Clearly this is not a place to go to celebrate anything special like a birthday or anniversary. Cocktails were decent, but not as carefully mixed as at the SF location. Food was a very very mixed and inconsistent bag, but generally poor. The chicken croquettes tasted as good as I recall, but were served luke warm. In fact, none of our food was hot. Patatas bravas were hard, perhaps not fully cooked, and served cold. We ordered a plate of mixed greens, and there were a few shreds of kale among an entire bowl of snap peas. OK, I guess they are greens, but not what we expected. We mentioned to our waitress as she continued to clear plates of partially eaten food, and she said that is how they come, and the dish was not even removed from our bill. If you express disappointment in a dish, and don't eat it, then something should be done. Deviled eggs, which I love, were inedible and left mostly untouched. No comment as uneaten food was whisked away. Before our final savory dishes, our waitress asked if I wanted anything else to drink, and I asked for the wine list. The food came, waitress eventually returned and asked if I wanted anything else to drink. You get the picture. This is just not the kind of service I expected from Coquetta, or frankly anywhere. Not even a candle on our dessert. I can't recommend Coquetta, and suggest you try elsewhere. There are so many great spots in Napa. We won't return here. This was the worst dining experience of our vacation, and likely the worst experience dining I've had in the great state of California.

We stopped in here for a cocktail and were impressed by the tapas items being shared at a table next to us. We enjoyed the marcona almonds, although asked for additional salt, and the mini salmon tapas. The Trumer beer is really good too.
Be the first to ReplyGreat tapas & attentive service
We had lunch here on a chilly and rainy weekday when many other local places were closed. We sat outside on the covered patio and were very comfortable as they had overhead heaters on. Every dish we ordered was delicious (potatoes, shrimp, croquettes, sliders, and churros) but the croquettes were the stand out favorite. The servers were friendly and very attentive. We highly recommend having a meal here.
Be the first to ReplyBest margarita ever!
We went to this place after a wine tasting tour. I'd give the food 3 🌟 🌟 🌟 but what gave it the extra bit for this review was the salt foam margarita! Instead of the rim of salt around it, it was done in foam instead and the result was amazing!

This restaurant was delicious… Small bites with large flavor… very unique and so delicious… this is an absolute must visit.. Ask your server for recommendations but they are small bites… so sharing may need 2 orders… had the Bravas Potatoes, Croquette Chicken, Albondigas, And Salted Carmel bites..Delicious…
Be the first to ReplyWorst service ever--and the food wasn't any good either!
I went to Coqueta today in Yountville with my sister. I saved my calories for the event. First we got there in time for our reservation that we made on OpenTable and the reservationist said they'd just had a lot of people, so she wanted to give her servers a rest. Nice sentiment, but we only had about an hour to be there, so... When we sat down it took nearly 20 minutes for someone to help us--we finally flagged people down. My sister has allergies, so when she told the waiter, he barely understood. We ordered 5-6 things and the tapas portion was SOOOOO tiny that we were asking for bread, They came with three triangles of toast for a fee. We asked for butter and they said they likely didn't have any--what? A kitchen with no butter? Please. The food was too pickled, too small of portions, and it was kind of a bad experience. It needed salt, but the waiter never came back, so I had to go to the bar finally to get it. I spent about $100 on lunch that was such a disappointment. For all the wonderful places in Yountville, this isn't one of them.

It was a dark & stormy night... no day.... rain & cold. The patio is covered the heaters work well but there was a bit too much wind coming in the open doorway for my taste. Soon forgotten as we ate. Service was quick & efficient but uninterested in us. Food was tiny & expensive but tasty for the most part. The first three appetizers were not great. Charcuterie platter was great, excellent meat & cheese. The mushroom dish was the best, followed by the patatas, and the meatballs.
Music was bouncy and a bit loud.
Excellent Tapas and Cocktails
You cannot avoid having a great meal and artistic drinks at this restaurant. This is an experience that you find in a big city, but here it is in the village of Yountville. This is a must visit.
Be the first to ReplyExquisite flavor in every bite
Every bite was carefully curated with a mix of flavors and texture. We really had the left side of the menu but in wanting to remember our last trip to Spain, we started with the melt in your mouth jamon iberico - it was the most simple of course as it was sliced thin and accompanied by some small bread bites. We had some great pixtones including one with anchovies and a mushroom and jamon. We tried 2 shrimp dishes - one was accompanied by a sunny side up egg and potato sticks, the other was simply prepared in a delicious chili sauce. The winner was the trumpet mushrooms in a sherry reduction-magnificent! We sat inside although the outside looked beautiful. Service was very good; cocktails all inventive and unique - but after a day of wine tasting I opted for a sangria. We weren’t floored by the desserts and there was no coffee available - make this a stop on your next visit to wine country.

We celebrated my wife’s birthday here. They have a nice open air terrace. We had the tapas and the steak and paella. We also had a carafe of margaritas. Staff was very nice. We wanted the churros for dessert but were disappointed later because they were out. Karina whipped up a quick dessert with a candle for my wife to make it up. Great place but a little pricey.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent Tapas
This is a great addition to Yountville. The restaurant has great service, a large deck and a good variety of tapas.
We had the olives (ok), iberico (great), croquetas (great), patatas bravas (great), cochinillo (fair) and bocadillo de casa bikini (not good).
They have Spanish style gin and tonics. Those were outstanding. I asked for one with a particular gin and they did a great job.
Overall this was solid. We will likely return.
Mostly delightful...nearly perfect!
I'm a huge Michael Chiorello fan and was excited to try Coqueta on our recent visit to Napa. Our patio table was excellent. The service was excellent and the food...so close to excellent. We selected a lovely wine (of course!) and had a few small plates to share. Each and every dish was superb, until we got the Huevos Rotos. OMG, this was quite literally one of the worst dishes I've ever gotten in a nice restaurant. The presentation was horrible, it was tasteless. Not at all like the description. It looked like it had been put together by a 5-year old. Sadly, what we remember (and still talk about) is this horrible dish...not everything else that was so perfect. And, I'm sure we'll never go back because it left a bad taste in our mouth. I'd probably still recommend the restaurant--just stay away from this dish if they still have it on the menu.

Be the first to ReplyGreat Tapas Food on Offer
Full of flavour and great presentation... we thoroughly enjoyed every dish. Reasonably priced for the quality of food provided.
Our server was professional and attentive, however only glitch was the kitchen just forgot our last tapas meal which resulted in a small wait.
Would recommend this as a great lunch spot.
Night cap in Yountville
It’s about time there is something to do after 7 pm in Yountville. This is a lively tapas bar that looks sad and dead from the street. All of the outdoor tables in back were full! We enjoyed our cocktails and tapas, especially the pulpo (so tender). Ambient music was perfectly selected for the night.
