Good food, good service.
The staff was amazing and really did a wonderful job. The ambiance was that of your typical Italian restaurant.

what a wonderful place! The food is AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS!!!! The servers and bartenders are very welcoming. I had the steak and it melted in my mouth. Matt the mixologist, creates the most delicious drinks and the presentation is absolutely beautiful. Sit at the bar and he will put on a show. Come and see for yourself!!
Be the first to ReplyWent here for dinner with 3 other people.
Service was mediocre. Ordered calamari which was good. I had the dinner special pizza, a white pizza with shrimp and sautรฉed greens. Crust was super thin so it wasn't able to stand up to the toppings, resulting in a very soggy crust. Flavor was not remarkable. The rest of my party had pasta of various sorts. The serving size is enormous. Although the wait staff are courteous, they are not very attentive. We were asked if we were "still working on " our food or would we like containers to bring it home. As if dining in this establishment was a chore, hmmm.

I absolutely love Cosimo's on Union in Newburgh, NY and have frequented this restaurant several times. Each time, my experience has been nothing short of fantastic, and I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great dining experience. The best part about Cosimo's on Union is undoubtedly their wood-fired pizzas. I have had many pizzas in my life, but none can compare to the ones I have had here. The crust is perfectly crispy, and the toppings are always fresh and flavorful. Every bite is a delight, and I always leave feeling satisfied and happy. In addition to the delicious food, the staff at Cosimo's on Union is also very pleasant. They are always welcoming and attentive, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. It's clear that they care about their customers and go above and beyond to ensure a great time for everyone.
Be the first to ReplyGreat spot to eat.
Friendly staff and the plates of food are huge. Good spot if you're passing by and hungry
Be the first to ReplyAlways have a good meal.
Love the food and staff is very good. Favorite one is in Newburgh but Monroe and Middletown are also good. Been to the one in Poughkeepsie once and was good but that was some years ago.

The food quality is outstanding. The service is excellent. The atmosphere is educated. A great place in the Town of Newburgh.

I go to the other Cosimo's locations often and always have a great time all around. But some coworkers and I came to the Newburgh Cosimo's last night and had an awful experience. Btw my coworkers and I all work in a restaurant so we are more than forgiving. Most of the food was the wrong temperature and unseasoned. Antipasto was warm, pasta dishes room temperature, pizza and bread basket COLD. We had to repeatedly ask for extra plates & silverware, when our table went from a 2 top to a 4 top. And had to ask our waitress(Mariah) to take empty glasses & plates. OH and when she brought new (cold) bread for 2 who joined later, she used her HANDS to take the bread left from the first bread basket and threw it in the second one, casually right in our faces! Like who are you to TOUCH my food??? We were dumbfounded. The drinks & shrimp baguette app were good, but everything else on our 300$ bill & the customer was yuckk. Still left 20%. But still all 4 of us won't ever come back, & we are gonna warn others not to come!

We order frequently. Pesto Penne, oven brick pizza, chopped salad are our faves. When my kids are here this is a regular request to dine
Be the first to ReplyThis review is for takeout, based on one order.
I got Seafood Fra Diavolo, for the substantial price of $26. Maybe acceptable if it was good but it was not. The pasta (pappardelle) was so overcooked it broke into bits when twirled around the fork, and much of it was stuck together into large clumps. The sauce was more like a broth, not the fiery marinara I have come to expect for this dish. Hardly any seasoning at all - until I discovered the chiffonned basil hiding in a corner. Not nearly spicy-hot enough for the name "Diavolo".On the positive side, there was a generous amount of seafood: clams, mussels, shrimp, and calamari (and not only the rings). All was fine except for the calamari which was tough and there was too much of that.Parking was difficult and I circled the place 3 times trying to find the entrance. It seemed that half the lot was taken up by Tesla charging stations. The plastic silverware provided for takeout was flimsy and rubbery, barely usable, and the single napkin provided was barely more substantial than a square of toilet paper.

I went here for my boyfriend's birthday and was very pleased with the menu and quality of the food. I liked the food and wine so much that we returned several times since the Summer. I would probably say it's one of my new favorite restaurants. My favorite thing to order is the mussels and tuna steak for dinner. I highly recommend everyone coming here to find a new favorite restaurant!
Be the first to ReplyThe pizza was good, the fries was good too.
My date and I noticed that the menu and how they served our food was a little different from Middletown. There is nothing wrong with it, just something we noticed, I wonder if all the restaurants do something different. Enjoy yourself.
Be the first to ReplyThe management has no clue.
My wife ordered a pizza and I a salad.Salad was great but as we started eating my wife took one bite of her pizza and could eat no more. The bottom of the pizza was burnt black. The manager said that is how they do it. But offered to do another one.The question is how can you say a burnt pizza bottom is how you do it? Plus, I would have had to wait to eat my meal until they made another, that makes for a great dining experience. The other manager was rude to my wife when she asked to see our waitress, who was wonderful, to make sure she got a tip. I will never visit this location again and I suggest you do the same. How hard is it to quality check the food you bring to your customers?

For gluten free pizza this restaurant is a must! We come here every time we visit Newburgh from Philly. The gf crust is so tasty and slightly crispy. They also made us gf garlic bread- it was delicious. We will be back every time!

I love this place!! The food is delish, and the staff is great! Perfect date night spot!
Be the first to ReplyMy husband and I are traveling from Virginia to Cape Cod.
We stopped for the night and found this establishment close to our hotel. Looked promising for a tasty supper. The drinks tasted like cleaning fluid, the Caesar salad was tasteless weird lol. I ordered a seafood pasta thing (diavolo?) that was weird and rubbery and tasted like old socks. My water glass had a big chip (sliced my lip but I'm fine, and a big crack down the side on further inspection). Our server was trying his best and we very much appreciated him. The cost of my meal was deducted from check do to water glass thing, I would not have asked for this but nice the restaurant did this. The music was loud and totally out of touch with Italian restaurant vibe. Overall this place was awful awful awful. I asked for doggie bag as I couldn't eat my lousy dinner however felt bad throwing it out. On second thought I tossed it immediately upon returning to hotel. I hate to disparage a place but absolutely no redeeming qualities.
Be the first to Reply4 yumsWe were a party of 5.
We are from Long Island and we are foodies. That said we ordered Caesar salad, tuna tartare, house salad and margarita pie for appetizers. So the Caesar salad was great the house salad was ok a bit bland. The tuna a disappointment but this is an Italian restaurant. There was avocado in the tuna which the color was off putting but the tuna was fresh. The pizza was delicious and cheesy and they sauce was good not crispy but good. Well on to the pasta dishes. There are not enough words to describe how delicious they are! Pasta was Al dente, flavorful and cooked hot right out of the pan. Each dish had its own flavorful taste and the portions-mama Mia ! Enough for two portions each! Our server Ciara was adorable, pleasant and very attentive. She was smiling and laughing with us. She was great and you're luck to have her as a server. This was a random choice for us to come here but we will definitely making this a must come to place!

Wish I could give Cosimo's the 5 stars it deserves but the seating we were given was appalling. Given the only table for two, you think would be a delight, but what a nightmare. Located at the prep and silverware station with a short lattice fence in your face. Waitstaff talking loudly inches away, wrapping silverware clashing next to your face, we could barely hold a conversation without trying to overtalk the waitresses and trainer with the new employee. A simple glass or solid barrier to avoid hearing and seeing this spectacle would have made our romantic dinner out as special as we had hoped for. Not to be ....... wish I had insisted on being placed in different seating before our meals came out as there were only 2 other tables occupied.
Be the first to ReplyFor some reason after the reno they changed their menu.
Menu changes are cool sometimes but not when you mess with a signature dish that was my absolute fave. The spicy chicken fusilli has gone from wow to ugh. The extra large noodles just ruined it for me... Please change it back so we can return to your establishment!!

Six of us went there yesterday for a special occasion and the guest of honor, my godson who is an extraordinary young man just elevated to Second Lieutenant in the US Army (already had served two tours in Iraq at age 23) and he wanted to go there. The family lives in New Windsor and this is one of his favorite places. I read the reviews and there are some who swear by this place and some who loathe it but I don't consider anyone else's opinion. It was actually very good; our server came back several times to ask how we were doing (she actually came by too often but I suspect she was trying to provide overly attentive service). The food was excellent and portions were enormous; five of six of us took leftovers home). No complaints whatsoever. I didn't give five stars because it wasn't "over the top" but still very, very good and not overpriced (not cheap by any means but not egregiously high).
Be the first to ReplyMy wife and I are regulars at Cosimo's in Woodbury.
Rarely if ever have we had a bad meal or experience there. And yes consistency is the mark of a great restaurant or chain. Just ask McDonald's. Regrettably Cosimo's in Newburgh, at least on this occasion, fell far short. Especially the kitchen. An example. The chicken francese at Woodbury is an elegant two piece cutlet presented beautifully and seasoned nicely. At Newburgh it was one thick hunk of almost cooked through chicken breast. Not very appetizing and zero finesse. That line should have been my entire review.
Be the first to ReplyElectric vehicle owner's paradise.
The spots for electric vehicles are borderline obnoxious. They would be better served as car side spots. The food is solid.
Be the first to ReplyDelicious and consistent.
A little pricey but soooo worth it! The pasta fagioli soup is fantastic and the pizzas are all great
Be the first to ReplyJust left Cosimos with my wife.
Went to have a nice dinner but that was not the case. Was seated right away and the waitress was very good. The problem is that they are under renovation and most of the dining areas are closed. They have no bar and are only serving beer and wine but didn't have anything posted about it. Didn't find out until we were seated. That was another problem. It was in this little room which was very noisy and cramped. They also had piped in some weird techno music. My wife had the chicken special tonight and didn't like it at all. All in all not a pleasant dinner and not what we are used to. I wouldn't go back until the Reno is complete.
Be the first to ReplyWONDERFUL place.
ย As most of the reviews say. ย The 5-hour pork cacciatore is stunning. ย The Quattro Stagione pizza was great. ย The cappucino was great and came with a lovely little biscotti. ย Give the cannole a miss; they don't freeze well. Staff is friendly, attentive, and well trained - not so common these days! ย Prices are remarkably low. ย Dinner for 2 was $67 before tip (which will be generous). Also the seating was well distanced when we were there. ย Cosimo's is one of those few chains that clearly can pull off great restaurants. ย We'll try any one we're near.Edit: very sorry to see the review about racist behavior. ย Hope they hop on that.
